One long day ago
Went I to play out
Upon happened I
A dragonfly little
To me said he
How do you do?
To him said I
What mean you do?
For understand him not did I
To me said he
I don't understand you
Shrugged I and away walked

(It was originally frog, but then I realised that frogs aren't even in Santharia. Are they?)

I hope that everyone is able to understand it. I know it's hard to translate another language when it's all mixed up to begin with.:p  I know that I have difficulties translating Spanish if it's put into a structure that doesn't make any sence.

I have indeed problems, are the words all turned around somehow?

funny reading though

Yes, the words are all mixed up in a mish mash. Each line can be unscrambled to reveal something that does make sence, but it's meant to be that way. I made it so that the person telling the story speaks in sentences that don't make sense to you or I, but when the narrator happens upon a dragonfly, the dragonfly actually makes sense. Only, the narrator doesn't understand the dragonfly.

Unscrambled version:
One long ago day
I went out to play
I happened upon
a little dragonfly
he said to me
How do you do?
I said to him
What do you mean?
For I did not understand him
he said to me
I don't understand you
I shrugged and walked away

I think I can change it around so that it's slightly less scrambled and makes a bit more sence.

One long day ago
Went I to play out
Upon happened I
a dragonfly little
to me said he
How do you do?
to him said I
What mean you do?
For understand him not did I
to me said he
I don't understand you
shrugged I and away walked

It doesn't really matter if it's too confusing to put on the site, I just liked it and thought I should share.

It's adorable!  It's exactly the kind of thing a certain age of child enjoys...

Once children have mastered the concept of order in language, they delight in perturbing that order.  (Just as you can't understand a joke until you understand the concept of expections going unmet...)  Riddles, puns, and horrible jokes are all part of a child's repertoire...and so should this Muddled Story be!

Well done, Amuwen!

Has anyone ever read the BFG by Roald Dahl? I faintly remember the giant talking partially nonsensically in that book, it was always enjoyable when I was a kid and even now.:)

Have to admit that this kind of poem isn't exactly my direction, but maybe my brother's little daughter might enjoy such little pieces;)

I'll add it to the Children's Poems next update.
