Well, so far some popular versions are emerging based on the elvish.  I've listed them below.  Perhaps we could put these up as a poll soon, once everyone has had a look-in and comment?  Of course that doesn't rule out the other creative suggestions, but a similar sounding name does seem to be the favorite of most people..

-  Aerychan

-  Aerian

-  Arichan

-  Aerchan

are my favorite picks as well!

Aerian sounds pretty cool to me.

Some more crazy Suggestions:

- Galacia

- Yilho

- Kajimbo

- Palonio

- Folimbus

- Rylim

Some names off the top of my head, no relation to santharia whatsoever. :x

I like Aerichan too and Aerian even better. It might also become Aeria as well in a simpler form.

Some other suggestions:

Carbug (pronounced carb-U-g)
Aerichania
Aeiroen or Aeiroessa (meaning everflowing in Greek)
Aerochan
Aerigonia
Aerigaia
Aerovata
Sympana

Curgan

I think I mentioned it already above somewhere - what should the meaning be?
In the sense of world=earth

world=???

Aér'ái'chán BTW means "at the very first of all"...

"Ar" in Thergerim (dwarven) means 'breath' or 'life'...

while "Chan" is not yet taken but could mean 'clay soil, earth'

In which case the dwarven name for the world would be "ArChan" - a nice solid sound and easy to remember.

Of course dwarves divide everything into 'aboveground' and 'belowground', the latter being their world which they would know as "ArGerim" or 'dirt of life'...    >D

There's something about Aerychan, it just bothers me. I think it's the 'y', I just don't like it.

Aerian was one that I thought sounded nice. *shrugs*

Ya.I don't dig the Y.
Like I've been saying, Let's keep the elven sound, but knock out the complications.
Like Aerichan.
I like it. It sounds a bit asian influenced, but i don't mind.

I still really like Aerian... but I agree on Aerychan the 'y' does not look, nor sound good.  Also, on some of the names it would help to think in the context of 'Welcome to the world of _____' because some of them would not fit in that context, or in the context of some other places that the name would be seen.

Ah. Just when I was getting use to the name of Sorren :  Aerian sounds nice. Rather airy, like light-elves.

So does this mean that all entries and stories that had used Sorren in them has to have that name changed after we decide on a new one?

well I shouldn't have a view really. But if you ask me, the new name should probably be Tharain, given they are the dominant population. Thus, the new world name should feel English. Or at least feel like an anglsised version of an older name.....

So y's midword are a definete no no. I go with Viresse and Amuwen on this. You just don't get this in English and to have a thranian word that is such is just plain wrong.

But to be honest, I'm not overly keen on it being a simple Aglisisation of the Elven word. Especially when Humans don't believe in Ava. To them, the concept of 'first of all' would make little sense, and names that make no sense to invaders tend to be lost...... erm.....how do I explain......

For example - Wales is one of the few places in Britain with two names, borne of two different langauges. 'Wales' bears no resemblance to the Welsh name Cymru (which in itself is a rounding of the original) but instead comes from the invading Anglo Saxon word 'Wallis' meaning forienger. Cymru  meant nothing to the Saxons so they replaced it with a word that did. To them Wales was a land of strange Romanisied people who farmed in a most unorthadox way.

York has the most complex name in the English language. It has been renamed with every invasion of the British Isles. The Romans named it Eborucum, the Anglo Saxons couldn't work out what it meant and renamed it, the Viking couldn't comprehend that name and called it Yorvik (town of Yor) which made sense to them and this was rounded by the Normans, because they couldn't get their tounges around the harsh v sound that is absent in French!

So yeah - I don't know that humans would keep a word that represents an ideology that is totally foreign to them. I think we need to examine how humans think and their mythology before you decide.

*sigh* I love yyyy and jjjj and so on.

Do we have to stick so tightly to the English language?
Do we have to abandon a nice combination of sounds/letters just because it makes no sense? We can choose to give it one.

Tharian may be ok for Sarvonia, but this name should be valid for the whole world, not just Santharia, so Tharian is as far fetched as Aerychan. Or Aeryan.Aerijan.
Aerian - nice, but a bit too simple in my opinion.

And though now Aér'aí'chán may be just a word some lonely elves know, it was the one Art decided to name his world after. And that would be for me a reason to choose a derivate of it.

Hi, dear Arti and other developers!

This year I am in China and cannot use any Google services including YouTube. For this reason I stopped uploading new Nepris videos. I can also not read any comments there.

It just crossed my mind that this information might be useful to you.

Cheers
