Even though I'm trying to focus all of my energy into Deepgorge I find myself with alot free time waiting for posting replies. So basically my idea was a non toxic liquid that is very dangerous. What happens is when the chemicals in the liquid are mixed with saliva and ten come into contact with air they ignite, fundamentaly allowing the user to breathe fire.

Now, if I'm allowed I'd like to know if I could include the ingredient as a mineral that hasn't been developed, I was going to give it a gnomish name ( and if that word didn't exsist then the name of the mineral could be used as the gnomish word). So, like the title says, Would this be okay?

Dangerous?  No kidding!

Well, it's creative, but my difficulty with this would be - why?   As there is no way to exclude oxygen from the human mouth, the instant a drop of this touches the constantly damp (with saliva) inside of one's mouth, it will ignite.  You then have a miniature explosion on your tongue.   Breathing out will not cause you to 'breathe fire' - it will only result in a rush of carbon dioxide from your lungs, too late to do anything about your scorched tastebuds.

The only way in which this could be used to injure anyone but yourself would be if you were kissing them and bit down on a fake tooth containing the substance (and the idea's been used already) - and your head would probably be a casualty.   :p

If you'd like to develop a dangerous fiery substance, why not try finding out the ingredients for 'Greek fire'?  Or write a naptha entry?  As to the rest of your question, yes, you certainly could give it a 'gnomish' name, though it would be an element, not necessarily a 'mineral'.

Um, make sure we don't already have something like it on the site first, eh?  I don't have EVERYTHING in my head, so I wouldn't want to send you off on a false trail.

Judy technically the air coming out of your lungs still has a bunch of oxygen in it...you only use 35% of the oxygen you breathe in or something like that.

Either way your other points were quite valid :P

Actually, thinking about it, this might work, Judy. If the liquid and the saliva are mixed in the mouth, holding your breath, you could exhale and with the rest of oxygen of your lung and the fresh one of the air - and a little deceleration time it might ignite only outside the mouth. Then we have our Santharian fire breather.

But Norkin, you would need quite a lot of imagination and inventing several people and locations where it was used - and that in a way it makes sense.

Again, how would you get the liquid into the mouth without having it 'ignite' as soon as it touches saliva?  There is no way, under the conditions initially described, to eliminate either saliva or oxygen from the area.  If you suck the liquid in through a straw, there is still air in the straw to begin with, air in your mouth to begin with, and, as was just pointed out in more detail, air in the lungs and trachea which contains a great deal of oxygen (assuming O2 is the active substance Norkin intends).

What is being proposed involves using the human mouth - one of the most sensitive, full-of-nerves-and-little-muscles, expressive parts of the human body, and directly under the brain - as a cauldron or 'test-tube' to mix an explosive, burning material.

Does anyone else think this might be potentially a BAD IDEA? :speechless

Ah, too bad that internet is so restricted in China, Ferra. Can't be much fun surfing the web that way if Big Brother's watching you... Hope you enjoy your stay nevertheless!

Hi, dear Arti and other developers!

This year I am in China and cannot use any Google services including YouTube. For this reason I stopped uploading new Nepris videos. I can also not read any comments there.

It just crossed my mind that this information might be useful to you.

Cheers
