Looks good, but the mountains are the Mithral Mountains.  Other than that is quite good.

*hehe* Even with a time table:)  I will check it in detail when preparing it already for the update, as I assume that you have done a good job with editing and adding, just as you've done with the entry itself. So expect it to go up this update, in case there are still some problems I'll mention them:D

Yeah, everything fine. Maybe we could add a market day for Marcogg as well, every 3rd day of the week perhaps when fishermen from Parthanul travel to the town to sell their wares?

*raises an eyebrow*

We consider alley beggar better than recently stranded? What an odd world I live in........

*seriously considers going back to RL, but then remembers she lost the map that got her here through the erthral void in the first place. Dashes off to the Quallian to dig it out from under the mounds of paper accumulating in her treetop office*

If you'd like to do a village map with some descriptions now for the MUD, Atimin, this would be cool as well. Or do you plan something else perhaps?

Yes, in fact I was already doing it. Glad you asked for it, because I have some questions:
1. The dialogs, do I put them in now, or will they be added in a later fase?
2. Can the player just move around, or can he pick up items, or some such thing?
3. Each room is to have such a description that assumes that it is the first time the player is in it, and that he entered it from any of the four directions possible, right?

When it's done I'll post it in the 'maps & rooms descriptions' thread. Tomorrow I'll go away for a week, to a place where I'll have nothing to do, so when I came back I'll probably have it done 8)

As far as I was awar NPC's will come later - but I could be wrong - I'm forever behind the times.

Well, so far dialogues cannot be added into the MUD, although I have programmed a complete dialogue editor for an Access database, but everthing will have to be rewritten for SQL Server and I don't know when Nate will get to it. But they will be added sooner or later, so you can already start with dialogues. The dialogue engine I have in mind can do various things, but the most important thing you need to keep in mind when designing are dialogue branches, based on keywords (written below in capital letters).

Short example:

GREETING_UNKNOWN
(would look like this:) As you enter the room you see a dark figure. The man blah, blah, blah... Add description here etc. Then he can start talking and e.g. mention a SAWMILL and a DOG. This gives you 2 new questions., e.g-:
- Tell me about the Sawmill!
- What has your dog done to the child?

SAWMILL
Put in here what the person has to say about this keyword, he can mention some more keywords here, which you can later ask him.

DOG
Same here.

This is a very rough guide how things should look like in such a dialogue. There are more advanced things in there as well, e.g. Yes/No answers the player has to give, or if you offend the character he may end the dialogue abruptly, or you get an item etc. At the moment it shouldn't matter how you do that technically, so in case you have a "special case" in the dialogue, just mark it somewhere and we'll handle it later on. Just do dialogues with using the keywords scheme, that's the most important.

Files have been replaced again, but the question remains how long this will last. SMF support will have a look at the security problem.

It has been hacked. The third time in 3 days. I need to replace the changed files again (won't happen before evening) - and then see what the SMF support recommends as a strategy.

Arti, could you maybe take a look at the RPG board? I got a message from my anti-virus program and now I can't access the column on the right with the list of current threads and the shoutbox. Thankies :)
