God signs & symbols
«

Well, trial number 3: We need some god signs/symbols. Also Godcolors/beasts for every single God. And "poses" ofthe gods, or proposals for the facial expression which shouldbe shown on the god picture. Here are the Gods once again - hopeyou have some interesting proposals:
Gods of Wind
Eyasha (Peace)
Grothar (Weather)
Nehtor (Healing)
Gods of Earth
Arvins (Hunt)
Queprur (Death)
Urtengor (Forging)
Gods of Water
Baveras (Sea)
Jeyriall (Harvest)
Seyella (Destiny) - symbol: blindfold
Gods of Fire
Armeros (War)
Etherus (Excess)
Foiros (Sun) - animal: unicorn

OK, so I wanna post this morning. And EZBoard's down... Well, anyways:
Arvins: A bow (with arrows o'course) and some dead animals or set against a background of a forest.
Urtengor: A (smithing) hammer as large as himself (I guess he is somewhat stronger than the average man).
Grothar: In one hand the sun shining (and lighting her face) and in the other a dark cloud with rain.
Note, they may hover above her hand
.
Armeros: With a war-axe (one that would make even the proudest dwarven warrior jealous
).
Nehtor: A bunch of herbs, which are known to cure disastrous diseases.
Eyasha: Anything but a bird (hey, let's keep things original, k?)
Queprur: A dead (burned and blackened??) tree, with broken twigs and falling leaves (as a reference to the tree of life).
I guess Artimidor welcomes any suggestions (well, he ofcourse welkoms better suggestions, but worse than these is impossible, so...
)

Thanx for the proposals, Xaron. But we need more voices here, so come one guys!
BTW: I discovered a very cool motive/picture I would either propose as pattern for a drawing of Queprur - or I would like to use it as it is... See
elfwood.lysator.liu.se/lo...t.jpg.html
However, the artist unfortunately is a professional, and she's selling her stuff...

Here's my take on the Santharian Gods although I don't quite know if I got the concepts correctly....mostly I'm describing my own personal impressions of them
Gods of Wind
Eyasha (Peace) : A sleeping child cradled within the arms. Motherly and paternal woman with hair tied back in a bun. Gentle features and eyes that make you remember your childhood where everything was clear and safe and uncomplicated.
Grothar (Weather) : Man sitting under a cloud that's dripping incessant rain on him but he's obviously not wet. In his cupped hands glows a brightly lit miniature sun and his entire countenance is delighted as he gazes upon it.
Nehtor (Healing) : Practical, sensible looking female (Nehtor's a female deity? If not, change description to male) with glowing silver-white arcane symbols engraved onto her/his arms right down to the fingertips.
Gods of Earth
Arvins (Hunt) : A little like the Welsh God of the Hunt I guess. An animal pelt over his shoulder with big-assed black antlers perched on his head. Glowing red eyes and suggestion of menance and 'I don't give a shit' attitude.
Queprur (Death) : A black veil over her head, dimly obscuring her features. The most beautiful and tragic God of all. Loneliness is her only companion as she wanders through the ages, untouched, unseen but always felt in the darkest fears of men. Bestowing her impartial kiss to the lowest scullery-maid, a powerful emperor and the bravest warriors alike.
Urtengor (Forging) : Tattoos of fire flames on both side of the cheeks? More brawn than brains.
Gods of Water
Baveras (Sea) : A beautiful siren who laps at the blood staining her fingers from the dead sailors whom she lures to their death. The sea can be treacherous to those who love her too much....
Jeyriall (Harvest) : A cheerfully big man, not fat, but certainly sizeable, holding two overbrimming goblets, one filled with wine the color of blood and other, seeds or grains spilling out.
Gods of Fire
Armeros (War) : Old, imperial looking guy, think Sean Connery as King Arthur. Probably dressed in full armour regalia with a shield. His eyes are black, yawning empty holes set in his regal face as they reflect eons of battles, wars and bloodshed; past, present and those yet to come.
Etherus (Excess) : Thin, gaunt guy surrounded by a bevy of voluptuous maidens. Has a pained but can't help himself look as he stuffs his bloated mouth with food.

Oops, made a mistake in the Eyasha description
I meant 'maternal' not 'paternal'!
