"The Qitara String Instrument" sounds like a good entry title to me - I guess if it is written that way, everybody will know that a guitar is actually meant, and still the entry has its Santharian touch... - What do you think?

I like it :)

I'll take what I can from this entry and convert it all down to describing the sound, appearance and history of one variation of guitar in Santharia :)  I can also add the lutes, violins and such later one.

Not sure if we're talking of the same thing... The main suggestion was to change the name "Gitarres" (= German version of guitar) to something else, then this entry could be prepared perhaps already.

Ah, I see... well that works fine as well. I thought you were just building off of Talia's recommendation that I narrow my entry down to simply one variation of guitar.

...I will probably get yelled at for bringing up old threads, however I was wondering if someone would just edit Dagan's name slightly so his work could be integrated.  As I mentioned before, he isn't going to be around and seeing as this entry is practically done I think it would be a shame to see it go to waste.

Is it possible that you are confusing 'Dagon Fai Ur' with 'Dagan Ares Bloodthirst'?   Or are these two separate individuals, both of whom you know personally?    I know that Dagon Fai Ur, who wrote this entry, hasn't been around lately - but I don't know that Dagan Ares Bloodthirst was planning to be absent.

Sorry Judith.  I meant Dagon.  I usually spell it this, way, but seeing as I have not talked to him much recently Dagan has become implanted in my mind.

Edit:  Why not switch gitarre to lyre and then integrate it?  I an take it upon myself to go through the whole entry and change them.

Actually, if it would be ok with Judith as I had originally planned to aid in this particular aspect of development, I would like to continue with the entry if it is no problem.

If that is alright with everyone. (Yes, I have not vanished into thin air...just yet :))

Well, for one, the body of the gitarre is not described. If he was aiming more for a construction of a modern guitar - then it cannot be a lyre as a lyre is much different in structure.

I was under the impression that Gitarre was ok for this entry. I know Judith had listed some possibilities in the past, perhaps in a different thread.

Gitar / Guitarre / Kitar / Kithare    would all be fine with me.  A lute is a different instrument.

Regarding finishing this:  I'd like to ensure first that Dagon is not able to finish it himself, in which case I as his mentor would ensure that the last touches are put on and the entry keeps the same overall stylistic feel and intent.   Thank you for your offer, though, Rapsody!

If you are interested in musical instruments - please, pick one and do as Dagon has done...create an entry!  I'd love to see the 'Flaut' or 'Hautboy' submitted... :smile

Very well Judith - I shall see what I can stir up.

And I had thought Drasil said "Lyre" - not Lute.

As they are both completely different from each other and though a Lyre is in the family of a Guitar, it is infact a separate instrument. :)
