B'RRAK!

CH'RON-P'THOK
(DECLARE WAR TO THE UNWORTHY ENEMY)

A Losh'Oc war song,
often sung when they are going into battle with a non-orcen foe. Even
without a working knowledge of Kh'omchr'om, the sight and sound of
several hundred bloodthirsty orcs enthusiastically roaring this out
whilst marching towards the enemy is... well, intimidating, to say the
least. - Provided by the bard F'ash, who learned it during his time as
a captive of the Losh'Oc orcs. |
B’rrak! M’ashz ch'ron-p'thok
K’rrak! Ghun arq’u!
K’rrak! M’ashz ch'ron-p'thok
K’mnt b'korra k’resz!
Translation
[We] declare war! [On] the unworthy enemy (lit.” vermin” or non/orc)
Attack the cursed defender!
Attack the unworthy enemy!
[We] celebrate (lit. “bring music to”) [their] graves!

This piece is a rare
Oster-Oc orc song. It has been loosely translated from the
Kh’omchr’om, since most of the subtlety and nuance of the lyrics are
conveyed by gesture. When sung in the original, it is almost more of a
dance than a song. |
Her beauty renders me helpless;
I am like a babe newborn.
Her eyes defeat me as the noblest warrior
I am made forlorn.
Her tresses tumble like the nightfall,
Her fangs are sharp as any sword,
She surpasses every female
Of our worthy horde.
She is strong and she is lovely
Worthy of a noble male
I shall strive to reach that honour
For her, I’ll not fail.

Z'ROVKYA
H'ROK
(THE BEARDED HORSE)

This is an orcish
babe rhyme, sung by orc mothers to their children to keep them amused
and quiet. It deals with the so-called "Bearded Horse", which is what
the Losh-Oc call the Tirpan, a tough, feisty little wild horse of the
Tandala Mountains. The Compendium researchers wish to thank F'ash the
Archivist for providing it for their records and Mesje Vergskjan, a
(female) half-orc construction worker of Lorehaven, for demonstrating
the proper singing and pronunciation of the song. |
