ECUÁ
SPELLS:
DESPIRIT
(LEVEL
IV) |
Spell Effect. A spell creating a magical being from lifeless material uses Xeuá to give it additional properties (spirit). Using the power of Ecuá, this spell can remove the generated spirit, turning the magical creature back to lifeless material. It can, however, not destroy active spells or remove one-time permanent spell effects. To illustrate, a golem is a magically created being, consisting of a material held together and "living" by the magical spirit it received from the mage creating it. Thus, a golem will be affected by this spell. On the other hand, two rocks fused together by the spell “Magical Chain”, which has a one-time permanent effect, will not be affected by this spell.

In the case of summoned beings, e.g. demons,
this spell destroys the magical
connection binding them to this world, thus returning them to wherever they were
summoned from. This spell can also, in some cases, destroy magical
connections of the mind, e.g. a telepathic link between two mages. This makes
the spell quite useful in combat, to disrupt communication among the enemy
mages, or to get rid of dangerous created creatures.

Casting Procedure.
The caster has to utter the formula while throwing his hand out towards the
target, as if he means to hit it. If the spell works correctly, a beam of light

even destroy it.
