WIND
SPELLS:
CLOAK
OF SHADOWS
(LEVEL
III) |
Spell Effect.
Sometimes concealing your powers from other people with magical
capabilities is of dire importance. Therefore, placing a Cloak of Shadows over
your own cár'áll
can be handy.
Once cast, this spell will make the
cár'áll
of the caster constantly shift towards the
cár'áll
of the surroundings, thus blending with them and making it undetectable by magical
means (E.g. by spells such as Sense
Aura). Spells looking for a living being (e.g. Spectral
Sight) will still work. While this spell is active, the user cannot cast
any other spells; in so doing, the Cloak of Shadows will cease to work.

Casting Procedure.
Warning: Casting this spell will make the caster’s
cár'áll
equally balanced, thus dispelling any and all other spells he or she had active.
The mage has to chew a little dried wizardleaf, and then speak the formula
aloud. The effect is immediate, and will last until the spell expires, or until
it is somehow dispelled.

Counter Measures/Enhancing Measures.
To counter this spell, one can simply dispel it from the caster. Another thing
to be noted is that if a stronger mage is looking for the caster by magical
means, he might very well detect him despite the Cloak of Shadows. However, he
will most likely have a poor vision of the caster.
There exists no means to enhance this spell. However, it should be noted that
this spell would only hide the caster’s
cár'áll.
If the caster has a powerful magical artifact, that artifact is very well
detectable, despite the Cloak of Shadows.
