The Island of Denilou (Thergerim: denilou, "sacred land"), also called the "Iron Realm" is an isle in the midst of the Adanian Sea far to the southeast of the mainland of the Sarvonian Continent. Once an uninhabitated island it was discovered in 1317 b.S. by Brok Strongarm, a dwarf of the Mitharims who set out to reach the famous Ylaoth Khirril'drumm, the Isle of the Glimmering Stones, as described in dwarven myth. The isle indeed offered many riches, especially gold and diamond mines were dug. The dwarves who settled there founded a great underground city called Toll Brok'Baroll, which is one of the greatest dwarven cities ever built. Since the year 292 b.S. refugees from the Sarvonian Wars, in fact members of all civilized races of the continent (humans, elves, dwarves and halflings), landed on Denilou as well. After several skirmishes during hundreds of years of co-existence with the native dwarves, the four races of Denilou eventually managed to co-operate peacefully. [More...]

Wetholm or the Glumboroughs, as the hobbits call it, are perpetually grey, misty, and redolent with the scent of various molds and miasmas. Mushrooms and fungi of all sorts abound here, as do willows, mosses and water-loving plants like the pondpad, the lemertia and others. Dark-barked trees rise here and there out of tussocks of yellow-grey reeds and grasses, interspersed with patches of lush moss and equally-thriving waterweeds. What appears to be even ground may in fact be a peaty bog, a clay silt quicksand, or the heavily-overgrown surface of a shallow pond. [More...]

Located at the east coast of the Manthrian province, a bit inland about 50 strals north of the Mashdai River, Deepgorge is a dreaded and shunned labyrinth of many natural and a few additionally constructed tunnels. Formerly a place where mainly fyrite was mined in the deepest levels, mining activity was abandoned several centuries ago already and the tunnels are now said to serve as hideout for outcast people, to harbour criminals or even hordes of monsters. It is also rumoured that the legendary mohsys race, human torsos with legs of spiders, lives deep, deep down at the bottom of the mines, but few dare to venture into this abyss.

Deepgorge received its name for the impressive sight of its gigantic underground gorges and chasms it has to offer, which make a decent into the depths a risky undertaking, especially as many parts of the former infrastructure have crumbled to dust by now. Deepgorge has many hidden entrances, tucked in the hills up until the Propsper Mountains in the north, but also smaller outlets far to the east near the sea coast. Several lower levels are also said to actually be filled completely with water from the Adanian Sea during the flood.

The leader of the city, the Skylord (or Skylady) has always been one of the most powerful wizards of this small kingdom. All of the businesses use magic in one form or another. Blacksmiths make use of runes and potions to imbue their weapons with beneficial characteristics. Farmers use magic to create crops that will grow faster and have better results. Architects reinforce their buildings with small spells, and can protect them against weather. Merchants use gates formed by rock arches enchanted with extremely powerful spells to travel long distances in short amounts of time. The people of Quel'tra'loh are most famous for the legendary flying ships powerful mages of ancient times had used, however, this knowledge has been lost during the millenia.

Parthanul is a small village that gets its name by corruption from the Thergerim "Pratheron" (Pratheron, reunion/meeting) and "Anul" (Anul, water), literally meaning "meeting of waters", doubtless referring to the Mashdai River that meets the Adanian Seacost, where the village is located. With barely one hundred inhabitants (of Avennorian origin) the village has strong dwarven influence (hence the name) due to the active trade with dwarves in a nearby settlement to the north.
