    2010 - A Year of Reorganization

Examples of this year's pictures

New Year Statement. Twelve years have passed since Santharia had its first humble presence on the "internet" - back then still a new and miraculous medium. And with each year we're online the fantasy world we've started to create becomes more dense and rich, more illustrated, interactive, but also more complex. In order not to drown in the mass of information, re-organization becomes a necessity, even though it means that a couple of entries need to be adjusted, that whole menus have to be re-designed, that means to find things easier need to be thought out. Several measures were taken in the past year to step back a bit and fulfill the need to organize information better, among them the introduction of the new Cosmology and Myth menu (thanks to Azhira) and dozens of illustrated overviews were added in various site sections (thanks mainly to Seeker's diligent work). These overviews also serve as an incentive to our artists to fill gaps we still have here and there and make Santharia an even more perfect place than it is now. Also dragons and drakes were redefined (Kalina) and all still lingering references to Earthen measurements on the site were substituted with Santharians equivalents (Sparkle), and, not to forget: A lot of already existing entries were eventually brought up to date. All important and invaluable works, which help us a good deal in our efforts in the coming year.

What was literally only a dream twelve years ago we now take more or less for granted as the annual result of our creative cooperation. Once again the year had extraordinary contributions to offer, of which we can be very proud: The simple fact that we added no less than 67 pictures in twelve months tells us how much time and dedication went into the project if we look at our graphical output (and even then there were a couple more pics made for the next Santhworld module, which therefore are not uploaded yet!). Several new Flash movies brought further interactivity with them (a teaser, two dagger animations, a gallery for Ximaxian staffs), a fresh game concept was realized with the Santhworld engine. Furthermore the texts we can offer cover all kinds fascinating subjects, ranging from bawdy verses to Brownie adventures, over myths and legends even to philosophical excursions. The Miscellaneous section is now chock-full with new weapons and artifacts, the Places and People entries become more and more embedded in our world, and developers tend to outdo themselves when thinking up new additions to our Bestiary. Inventiveness and imagination was never a problem for Santharians, and we're surprised year by year anew. Who would have thought about that twelve years ago? More of all that in 2011? Yes, please! -  Artimidor, Santharian Webmaster

Comparative numbers. Note that certain comparative numbers cannot be provided due to the fact that they way we compute these numbers was changed. The new numbers now represent the amount of entries listed in the menus, while the previous ones counted actual files in certain folders. As this number was inaccurate due to deactivated entries, this was corrected now.

Visitor Counters. Due to the fact that the NedStat counter (the one we mainly used so far in our statistics) turned commercial in 2009 and dared to display ads on the Santharian frontpage without asking, their days had been counted. We therefore had to give the eXtremE counters priority, which however only started counting in May 2006. Thus the site hits numbers only reflect this period.

(*) Optimized during the year, thus indexed pages are reduced compared to the previous year due to the elimination of unnecessary pages.
