Arggosh, before we go on with your thread in Eresh, i want to say that i am concerned over you popping in and then are no where to be seen for the next 4-5 days again, and then popping in again, and then ... well, that kind of cycle. If you have your heart set on Eresh, then i would like to get a confirmation from you that you can post at least every other day, because the pace of the story has been much faster than i have expected, and i am going to have difficulties situating you within the plot and integrating you with the other players if you are to be disappearing for days at a stretch. Ok? Unlike Bardavos this game does have linear plot which needs to be progressing.

Just post here and let me know if you can be posting at least every other day, and then we'll move on from there. Thank you for your understanding.

I will definatly be posting every other day, its just over the past few weeks theres been some problems at home and I havn't been able to make it on-line.   I can now get acces to a pc at school so i'll deffinutly be posting every other day.   My apologise once again, I'll be as helpful as is possible.

wh00p! I'm in! Okay, my charrie's reasons: she was running from a group of fallen-by-the-roadside (as it were) bandits who tried to steal her horse and her money. She is riding her horse and making fairly good time but the bandits have horses too though not as fast as Daala (Cacunai's). She saw the tavern and ducked inside. At least, that is what I see happening. Of course, I'll do whatever you think is suitable, but that  was what I was planning on. -tosses a spiffy bouquet of black (pwerty!) roses to Khiera- I am SO glad this one's active! And fast-paced! I'm on every day, almost 24/7 now I think of it... scary....

I like your idea for your entrance post!  However, i was wondering more about why she would want to solve the mystery, what would be here motivations to do so and all that.

However, you can start posting in the Regal Rusik 2 thread if you promise that after your entrance post you will elaborate more on your character's motivation/reason for wanting to solve the mystery. As long as the focus is on the mystery, you have the green light

I was thinking of letting  you start in the market place, but that would get a little chaotic with all the players there now, so you might as well start in the tavern and then move on there if you want to

I'm sorry, but seems I'm not going to post for at least a day or two. My PC broke down after I tried to install some new drivers and now it can't connect me to the internet somehow. Don't know how fatal the error is, but if I can't fix it, I'll need to re-install windows.

No, no, I'll work more on elaboration before I post, surely! Okay, let's see... she's got plenty of money so she wouldn't be after that... -_-... this is difficult... okay, here:

Many years ago she was hired by the Queen to care for one of the Queen's best horses, but (through little fault of Cacunai's) the horse was attacked by a pack of wolves while she was out at pasture (the horse). Cacunai got there too late and the horse died. After this the Queen was definitely not too pleased with Cacunai and now Cacunai wants to get back in her favor so she is trying to find the lost princess.

Well, that would actually be superb, except that for the purpose of this story and the overall plot, the queen is uhm ... not alive anymore lol.

Right ... how about: Cacunai ducks into the tavern to escape from the bandits that are chasing her, and upon conversation with a tavern maid etc., she realizes she is in Eresh, the Eresh with the myth/story about the missing Princess and the mysterious woods that she has been hearing about. Finding it amusing that over the years so many people are still trying to solve the mystery, Cacunai feels like it would be a worthy challenge for her if she could crack the mystery.

Well, a little corny i suppose, but how about that?

Just in case all of you haven't noticed, we now have the pleasure and distinction of having the addition of two unique characters into the story -- Fluffy Ramblers, a pack of extremely adorable (well, to me anyway hehehe) rats ... uhm, rodents, AND Bahran the Bear, who is, well, a bear lol.

Fluffy's role is what i call a "semi-NPC". He's playing in the game, and if you don't believe that rodents can solve mysteries, well, maybe Fluffy will prove you wrong  Bahran's role in the story is of an NPC -- don't worry you'll get to meet him soon enough in one of the locations when you start wandering around the woods based locations  

Yep, that's it. I'll step down from my little soapbox now  Btw people, GREAT POSTS everyone! I'm extremely happy with the pace of the story and the effort and attention that everyone is putting into their posts! All of you deserve

Ok I have lost a hard drive due to a virus and its not a huge deal but It means that If I post tomorrow at all it wont be till late... at worst It wont be untill Friday until I can post. Really sorry.

Just to let you all know, the next few days (including today) are crucial exam days for me. This means that i will be cutting my posting rounds from three times a day to once a day, or cutting down my posting time -- whichever works out lol. However, this doesn't mean that the pace will come to a halt, all posts will be replied to within 24 hours, which adds up to at least one post/response a day to everyone's post, and more if i can  So, my posts in response will be a little staggered, but they will be there. If i'm a little slow in getting back to your post, don't worry -- for example you might not get 3 responses a day if that's your usual pace, but you will most certainly get a post a day from me

Well my character is a mercenary. The reason he would be there, to my best answer and knowledge for you is basically he is out to experience the world and what it has to offer, if it be fame or fortune, he is in it for himself.....or others if they have the right answers for him. As long as there is a pay off in it Seph is willing to do what he can to help out.

Your acceptance is still ... well ... pending. I apologize for the wait, but like i explained in my prior post, i'm having exams right now, and don't have as much time as i would otherwise to carefully go over the plot and make sure your character has his own place in the story, just like what i do for all the other characters here. I don't want this story/game to become a game where everyone is just following someone else around ...

Also, right now i technically have only one more spot for a PC, so if you are accepted i will not be accepting anymore characters. That warrants more thought on my part regarding the acceptance of your character into the story.

To further help me out, are you interested in solving the mystery at all? Or do you just want your character in it as a regular RP kind of thing?

Again, i do apologize for the wait. I'll try to let you know by tomorrow evening, the latest. Thank you for your patience and understanding

Heya Quegon, you put up a nice post, but i would like to request for you to do a little editing to take into account Ariel, Ryldor and Valannia's presence in the village center at the fountain, where Quegon is standing right now. It's not a big village square at all, so you wouldn't miss the three of them standing there and talking, and it would be good if everyone can take into account everybody else's presence, actions etc in the story at all times

Uhm ... Kalina, should you be assuming that Roland will follow?? Also, it's about half a day's journey to the woods, i am skeptical that an elf can run without stopping for half a day straight ...

Also, you can't head straight to the main encampment, because of plot purposes. There will be a new thread which i will be creating, and both of you should stop there first before you arrive at any of the outposts.

Roland, if you are waiting to post in respond, i suggest that you can respond to the section of Kalina's post of where to go, and if you agree to go with her, then i will direct both of you to post in the new thread, which will probably be titled "Village Outskirts".

Well, really it doesn't matter to me as to which option I go for, I could help solve the mystery but there would have to be some reason for my characters actions involving it right, or it could just be a regular RP thing, whatever works best for your campaigne, and your interests.  

@Sephariath:

Alright, your character is approved  As long as your character's direction is towards solving the mystery, i'll be happy, since there's a full roster of characters now, and i would prefer any new characters to want to solve the mystery.

Please read over all the important game information, especially the ongoing story info thread, if you haven't already  You're also strongly encouraged to read through the posts that have already been made, to get a feel and mood of the story. And then, you can make your entrance post in the Regal Rusik 2 thread, since it's a little messy in the market place right now, or, if you would prefer, you can make your entrance post in the Village Ourskirts thread, in the sense that you have just arrived at Eresh at its perimeter. It's up to you.

Eve, the "threat" by the guards were an expression/thought threat. In my post it was written "as if they were saying", and not that they actually said it out loud. So you might want to do a quick little edit to change that part

Cele, just to make it simple, regarding your question:

We'll just assume that it's half a day's travel time between each "coloured dot" on the map. Right now, you are in the village square, which is within the red coloured dot representing Eresh. The guards in the village outskirts are around the red dot, except for a few that have ventured into the market. All the rest of the guards are in the various encampments as indicated on the map.

That sound clear to you?

Good.  I do try to pay attention to details, it makes things so much more fun when I can catch my enemy on a detail! For example, once in a demon/angel RP I was doing, my enemy (an angel- I love to be evil!) used some weird weapon to incapacitate my character and when my character 'came to', I realized that the angel neglected to actually close the door when she left... it was hilarious. I just walked out. Anyway. ^__^

Finals are coming up real quick for me so I maybe a little scarce here. If I am gone for more than a day...something is really bogging me down but I will try my best not to let it happen...Just a heads up for my fellow mods and players!

Usually when plot turns occur depends on what the players does or say, of course, but it partly also depends on when the player first joined and how long they have been in the story/game. Actually, plot turns (little ones lol) occur all the time, be it meeting someone important to the story, picking up a piece of essential plot info etc etc ... those are just more subtle, and the big plot turns are more "in your face" (like the one in the market place). But big plot turns take time to build up, so sit tight Fluffy ... yours is on its way ... EVERYONE gets to have their fun

And hey, all hail to the never-going-to-get-away-from-computer-to-get-a-life people >>> us! lol I'm sure there are many more around here too ...  

And hey, think about it Fluffy, while you are depriving those that are already ridiculously filthy rich already and still trying to suck more money out of broke people like us, just think, we are keeping alive the dreams and hopes of fantasy enthusiasts all over the world, keeping the people who slog away at the internet industry well-fed with a job, ezboard employees, smileys-making people ... yep, we all deserve a glass of champagne actually, to give ourself a pat on our uhm ... Only Val knew it was you Ryldor, nobody else knows, they are probably wondering why Val raised her swords to you     Val was in close range with you and Ariel, and because she was evaluating both your answers and questions, she had her eyes and eyes keenly focused on you two. She probably saw your lips moved, followed by the dust, and surmised that you caused "something" to happen. Val knows a little bit of magic herself, see? And she was keeping an eye on both of you.

But yes, everyone should not know that you cast a spell. Sorry, i should have posted a note regarding this part, but i will rectify this now.

@Eve, Mina & Ariel:

Just a note of clarification: All of you would have seen the dust fly, and all of you would have seen Val raise her swords at Ryldor. However, none of you could have known that it was Ryldor who actually cast a spell. In fact, none of you knew that it was a spell at all. It was just "something strange" to your char. Your characters would probably be wondering why Ryldor was addressed so harshly. See above part of this post on why Val suspected Ryldor had something to do with the dust flying. So, please reflect this point in your posts

Hmmm, val, now that i think about it, you should probably edit the beginning of your post to reflect what i just said to ryl in the top part of this post -- that you had your watch focused on both ariel and ryl, and when the dust cloud rose, you noticed ryl's lips moving and (knowing a bit of magic yourself), jumped to the conclusion that ryl did "something", ok?

Seeing how Kalina and I go to the same school, I find the current school work and such to be a bit hectic for me as well, with Finals coming up. So! Like Kalina I'll be scarce as well...If need be, my character can be NPC'd if need be...I'm just worried I'll fall behind seeing how this is the first time I've been able to get on in the last 2 days. ::Sigh.::

It is specifically stated in the elf entry that they are capable of recognizing other elven magic at work. It would be definately apparent to any elf near to Ryldor that he was the source of the surge of energy in his casting.

Alright people, remember my earlier post saying not to draw weapons until weapons have been drawn (stupid sounding sentence ... but oh well lol)? Well, if anyone is feeling like wreaking havoc and starting a fight, swords have been drawn, so ... it's up to you

However, keep in mind that whatever actions you take will have their own sets of effects. For example, if you openly go against the guards, better count on having the guards not on your side for the rest of the mystery ... and things like that *grin* But of course it also depends on how you uhm ... take your action *cough* self-defense *cough*.

So, i'm giving the green light for anyone wanting to slice and dice to go ahead  But remember: cause and effect. Also, if you are creative, you will be "rewarded" creatively too

As I suspected. RIGHTO!

Regarding the Village Center commotion:

Ok, this is just to clarify everyone's position with regards to the guards.

Mina and Eve are standing at the beginning of the East fork. Two guards are very close to them, and Valannia has just turned towards them, standing about 5 peds away from them.

Kiushapo has just arrived at the beginning of the East fork, and is a short distance behind Mina and Eve, blending in with the crowd.

Ryldor is lying "unconscious" by the fountain in the center. Ariel is standing right by Ryldor's side.

Thaetum is about one ped away from Ariel and Ryldor, and two guards are around him.

A guard on horse back is at the beginning of the West fork.

Quegon is at the beginning of the North fork, with a guard right in front of him. Another guard is standing near the South fork.

There we go ... hope that clears things up  

Everyone involved should post once, and then another plot turn will occur

For those who were involved in the commotion in the village center, you might have noticed the flurry of posts between myself and Val. That's for plot purposes as well as to dispense plot information.

Val will be extending an invitation for anyone to turn up at the main encampment later on in the day. For plot purposes, only TWO players should decide to go, the rest should stay behind in the village square ... don't worry, more awaits in the square    

So ... who decides who goes well ... i'll let the players work it out among themselves     Unless you all want me to decide, then i will. But i would rather all of you reach an agreement or something ... let's see what happens    

Also, i've closed the original Village Center thread, it was getting too many pages already. Now that another plot turn has occured, you can all post afresh at the Village Center (2) thread. Just make sure to read up on the posts at the old thread    

Edited to add: Que, just assume that the guard walked away sourly from you after getting a scolding from Val   and continue on your way.

Also, everyone, since Val mentioned that she will be in the encampment this evening, just assume that after Val extended her invitation, she left along with guards ... so continue on your threads ... now everyone can take a breather and do some IC discussion and catching up
