Actually Nai, after you brought up the word "dirk", myself, Shaint, Kiu and Bahran had quite a discussion about it on IRC ... finally it was agreed (i think hehehe) that a dirk was a dagger without a hilt ... whatever that means LOL.

They probably meant without a guard.  It'll be quite uncomfortable to hold one without a hilt.  Anyway...

Yep, scottish dagger without a guard that is. Imagine a very short version of Hadhafang (Arwen's sword in the LOTR movie) and you'll have a kind of dirk.

I can't seem to find out what the terrain is like in the SWV. I know we need to run for cover or shout for surrender which might get us in (but in a very unfavorable context), but I'm not sure what cover there would be if any.

Ok, there's really no cover whatsoever. It's just sparse vegetation ... a bush here some tufts of grass there .... the only cover would be the woods itself from the larkentirs, or many, many peds up front there's a cluster of trees ... but the idea is to start running ... don't worry nobody's getting hurt, it's for a plot turn ... you'll see

Hey Nai, from what i know, you can't use HTML in your signature, unless you are an EZsupporter member. That's probably why your sig was not working although you had the codes right. You should use the EZcodes equivalents in this case. Eve gave you a very good example  

Also, there's a thread in the OOC forum especially set up for people setting up and testing out their sigs, here's the link. You can post there as often as you want when you are testing your sigs and other ... testing stuff lol.

OK, just a note to all. Two things:

1.  All of you will be entering the woods soon, and things are going to start to get fast and furious. So, if you are the kind of player that doesn't quite like violence and fighting and stuff like that as much, let me know and i'll tailor the uhm, combatish aspects and level of the oncoming plot developments to suit you

2. If any of you have any special requests for your character at the end of the story, now is the time to come forth and post in the OOC to let me know! For example, we all know that Ryl wants to be a lord  Don't be shy! No guarantees on my end (sorry mina, you still can't be an archmage ), but i'll do whatever i can to cater to any requests or wishes that you may have or envision for your character

Tsk tsk Mina ... planting bad chopstick habits here, there and everywhere ... what will your mother say when i tell her that you not only do not use chopsticks for food but "pokerage" (credit goes to Luca for coining this term hehehe), what more give away chopsticks to rats!!

That's besides the fact though. What have you done, are you trying to drive my drows to extinction by unleashing a team of mini death-chopstick wielding ninja rats????

On another note Fluffy, Bah is pretty sick (as in down with the flu/cold) and i'm still waiting for Nai to post ... but i'll see what i can do to uhm, "extend" your little plot section ... maybe you can be the first into the woods *grin*

Ok, time to do a little "housekeeping" for the story.

This is important. Besides from the three players that i've listed earlier this month who are unfortunately not with us anymore since i haven't heard back from them, the story is now moving into its final "phase" -- that means the venture into the woods, and the "conclusion"/revelation of the mystery (and to see who can solve it *grin*) -- so players who have been posting erraticly or have not been keeping up with the story will -- i regret to say -- not be able to arrive at a conclusion for their character in this story in time  

Right now, the teams of players/players are as follows:
Kiushapo & Mina
Ryldor
Cacunai& Fluffy
Eve

The above players are all heading down different plot threads, which makes me very happy, because each of the above groups will have a different ending and twist in the story  

Important: Once ANY two of the above players/team of players set foot into the woods, it will be too late for any player who hasn't been keeping up to be integrated into the conclusion of the story and catch up with the plot pace   Because the storyline/plot would have progressed too far to catch up with. These players are currently:

Glayron
Sephariath

If you guys miss the cutoff point (of two PCs entering the woods), and won't be able to make it to the conclusion, you can still post and RP and i will do all i can to make it interesting for you, just that unfortunately you will not be making it to the end/conclusion of the story.

Those who are on the final stretch of the story right now: KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!   I am hoping that this story can be the first story on the board to end and wrap up conclusively on a good note with a bang -- can't do that without a great group of PCs!

I'm suspecting the ISP.  Can't think of anything else that might cause this.  And it feels odd too not being on IRC.

Fluffy, i made some calculations last night while bored in class, and realized that 50 rats is a little too overstretching it -- that would mean that every corner of Kestrel's shack would be filled with rats LOL. Hmmmm... well, I don't want to desert the pwerteh mousehs, tha' knows, but I know my character is not going to appreciate them making so much noise, hindering her movements, and whatnot. I wanted to be Asaka, Mother of the Earth, but oh well. I also double as a villager. I'm in all the choruses, but no solo songs. Dang. Oh well, at least I'm in.
