To be honest, I liked the picture before better. It somehow resembled more Terra's personailty as I experience it. The previous was that of a pride, arrogant woman, but with a dark touch to it, like dark memories that haunt her while the new one is only arrogant and too bright.

Capher, you once said you favourize redheads anyway or do I mix something up? ;)

What do you mean with touching up, Terra?
perhaps, only perhaps, I might eb of some assisstance?

You may notice the image is a bit grainy.
But I am starting to agree a bit with you, about the image itself. It did show her personality better, just did not like the puffy hair when I envisioned straight hair. I have both images though, will just need to talk to Uragel.

Though I agree with Koldar, I liked the old pic better as well, I think the new one is the same person, just viewed  different. But the old showed more personality.

:lol  No Koldar you did not mix things up.  That is what I said.

About Terra, I like both pics, but the only reason I like this one a little better is that I could see more of the face.  But I agree with you all on the personality aspects on both pictures.  If you could somehow combine the two pics then it would be perfect.;)

About our story.  We need to get going.  We need to get Talia's sword back from Alavazarius.  Capher needs to get to Talia so she can heal him, otherwise he will be a brownie. We need to get Avour and Terra going in the same direction as Koldar and Almenda.  And last but not least we need to move the story along to the ship.  I am sure Hajaran is waiting.

So any ideas how to get Talia's sword back?  That seems to be the most difficult part of our mission as of now.

The last is the easiest, Alvazarius is already waiting...;)

After that the goal is the ship now anyway. The first and urgent problem is what way Avour and Terra went, hope Almenda knows! ;)

Talia I thought you were a healer?  Well I suppose the sword would work.  Or I stay a brownie and maybe Hajaran can heal me.

Ok then lets go get Talia's sword.

Poor Capher!

Almenda, your post brings me into a dillema story-wise.
Terra, Avour, do you want to be there when Alvazarius shows up or are you happy getting hunted to the ship? :)
Otherwise has to "pick" you up that we can leave together.

Anyhow, suggestions?

Either way I am fine with it.

If you wish us to leave together, given the Golem now blocks that part of the main tunnel, you could find some route around an meet up with us farther down the main tunnel, or even at the exit there. Terra will not be moving her swiftest as her sore muscles are catching up with her.

So, postings up. Hope everything is according to your liking... :)
Terra, I thought you might run in some people off the Malitius(those we took the stone from). If you can't handle them, there are some more thieves of Alvazarius roaming the sewers in search of strangers and the word about Uriens death has spread so they might appear as some kind of doubtful assisstance.
The people of the Malitius are more of the bodyguard/mercenary type I guess, so not as dirty as the general Docker(who is proud of it btw.);)

Well, what else, guess Koldar will get some beating to get Talia's sword back but the Golem will shatter the party, Alvazarius has thought out for him ...and Almenda(poor boy, wrong company! ;)  )

Well, that's it for now.

I already mentioned via ICQ but though I'd post here as well.

I'm not sure if a second Shapeshifting Dragon wouldn't be slightly off-balance the story. But maybe one of your other chars might fit better into our group and adventure?

@Capher: Well, I was rather confused about the last post. Since when can Capher cast Brownjin magic? From what I've read only certain Brownie tribes know these arts and of those Brownies only the mages (so very few) master this level of power?
Can we maybe size down the effect his spell had to burning the thieves hand or something?
Also I'm confused about Talia's sword. While certainly one of the thieves carries it none would need to or would be allowed to use it. They all have weapons so no need to use foreign ones. So the thief should at least have the sword on his back?

And how does the sword help Capher?

The Whole point behind bringing Issa is so she finds her brother...At some point.

And not like I can bring Obsidian In. Because the Mod's Didnt give her a title when I first posted it, though they liked her soo much, Im screwed out of a character I already spent Time on getting into another Plot.

Title: Story, new chars...
Post by: Ta'lia of the Seven Jewels on May 08, 2002, 08:17:22 PM
1. I have nothing in general against a new char, but H., our magic master has to wait for so long now, perhaps shouldn't we postpone any decisions till we ARE on this ship finally? And introducing a new char now doesn't make the story better. You have to find a way out of your "Schlamassel"(look if you find it in a dictonnary ;)  ) for yourself.

2. I have to agree with Koldar, read what he wrote when I posted for Alvazarius. Don't make it too easy for yourself. and don't forget that Alvazarius is a man you can talk to (maybe Koldar not in the moment, lol).
To my sword: It was just a suggestion that it might help because of it's dispelling abilities.A copy from my chardescription:
"She(Talia) knows some magic, but she prefers not to use it, not sure if it would work if needed.
She knows some healing spells, but it is more her presence which seems to quicken the
healing process, she finds more often water out of intuition than with an spell for finding
                      water.
It is different with her sword. Talia herself has only few limited magical abilities, but
the sword given to her is a strong magic item, though she doesn't know it. This sword,
held in her hands and pointed forward will disable or at least weaken any spell spoken
against her and protect as well all persons standing behind her or being in touch with her.
In special cases it will even reflect the spell upon the caster. It senses magic and if
strong, mainly threatening magic is around it will emit a humming sound."

But nobody of you knows about these abilities, or have you seen it somehow with your abilities before, Capher? And if it should work with you, it would probably transform you back in your original form, a dragon, with its  dispelling abilities. It has to happen somehow accidentically when you ask Alvazarius to give the sword back.

Don't tell me that I have to go back to the sewers and save you, I'm clean!!! Thought about just climbing on these roofs and wait there till I see you emerging out of the sewers! Maybe Terra and Avour might help for a solution? Giving Alvazarius her precious stones, lol? The heart is still in Almendas pocket along with Capher?

See you later....

Oh, Capher, could you open the char description? I would like to post my updated char there..., thanks :)

@Terra: Oh, okay... currently no clue how guards would behave in sewers... okay those behave more dumb but more because they don't know the terrain. But good fighters, they're. Everything set up. Use it to your liking. If you need help, there're some Dockers nearby, if you don't, just try to avoid them! :)

Koldar Capher is a brownie, well almost, and he can use any shape's powers he turns into.  So he could use a brownies.  The rat had to die for a brownie has to use life magic.  A life for magic being used.  I probably should have just burned the mans hand.  But it was just his clothing that caught on fire.

After your post I have no idea, but I will think of something.

Talia's sword Capher felt the magic coming from it.

Well, but only few Brownies can cast this magic ( flying over the Life magic text it even seems that only certain Aeolian Brownies of a certain clan are good at it), that's my main problem with it.
Sorry, I don't want to be picky but clothes catch fire in a moist sewer?

>>After your post I have no idea, but I will think of something.<<

That happens when people escalate a situation without knowing how to get everyone out of the trouble. Escalation is a bad thing. Escalation  makes Koldar getting killed. Thus Koldar hates escalation! *lol*

Hm... Ok Talia will open Charac descrip back up.

Koldar if I edit my post, then so will Almenda and you and I do not think you want to do that.  I will think hard on my next post.  As far as Hajaran is concerned he, I believe is just a passenger aboard the Black Pearl.

Concerning Issa, the new character, she does not shapeshift, is very anti-social and does not even know Capher and she is a prisoner aboard the Black Pearl, so her character would not even be in play until we are on board. She just wants to know if she can join?

The Sword that Talia is carrying is in reality the Sword of Fury. That is why it is so imbued with power but even Capher does not know its full potential, he just knows it has strong magic and could heal him.  To bring him back to himself.

I hope that clears everything up.  If not ask more and I will try and explain more.

Title: Re: Story, new chars...
Post by: Koldar Mondrakken on May 09, 2002, 08:26:22 AM
No need for major change. I set up my post in a way that a major change is not necessary at all and minor ones doesn't influence it much. I only have an uncomfortable feeling about a shapeshifted Brownie, also wounded(!), being able to cast powerful magic.
But everyone can do what he wants but then must not expect that it works. (like attacking a group of thieves that are in a slight advantage and that came there ready to fight)
So major adjustments don't seem necessary to me though the situation is now far more complicate.(what I like! ;) )

For the sword, I don't see that the Sword of Fury has any healing powers? But maybe the sword and some assisstance by the nearby mage might help you focus enough to remember your own shape and personality? That, of course, provides the problem of how to calm down the thieves.

So Issa is in? I only have another uncomfortable feeling about two shapeshifting dragons being _accidently_ at the same place, involved in the same story...

About Hajaran, I thought maybe Talia meets him on the way to ship or on the ship waiting for us.

Sorry again I must be... heck, I know I am annoying but I just need to point it out when I don't feel well with something.

Issabelle is actually looking for him. Sooo, I would imagine she is following her instincts to find him.

And like he Said.. She doesnt use her powers... She normally stays in human form. Obviously she doesnt use um... Lol... If she is a prisoner or what have you... She Could shift and break the things holding her... but doesnt.

What should we do now that Capher seems to be away, at least for some time?

I would propose to carry on and take him with us in his brownie form till we are on the ship. We can decide then what we can do. Afterwards it gets difficult without Capher and his pla :(

Hopefully he will be back by then !

I'd also propose to continue for now. We should add Capher being a Brownie to our Sidequestlist, eventually?

Beside that we might lengthen our small ship-adventure to Shan-Thai, look for a healing potion for capher. If everything goes wrong we might visit the Wizard of the White Tower asking for some advice? But that will take some time till then.

Under this circumstances I don't have any objections against Issa as another shapeshifting dragon as well...

Anything else?

No idea Terra! perhaps you should write that they are going just away before Avour brings you into trouble, lol

Don't know how to help you, Terra. I tried to keep it as open-ended as possible. If you want trouble go ahead, if you want  to avoid it just hide a little bit deeper in the shadows and good with luck with Avour.

Maybe let them hunt you and Avour out of the sewers, maybe have them run into these Dockers around, maybe not.

Almenda, a thief looked if you had something valuable with you, he wouldn't have left you the sword which they had got from me (I remember you got it when Capher did this burning spell), and then Koldar said in a more recently post:
"Almenda, hope you still can fetch Talia's sword somehow!  otherwise I've to write that in as well..."
so I thought the thieves still had it.

I wanted to point out that you are quite near the ship, on the docks or on a streat at least which houses face the sea with the docks not far away. The corner balcony from which I saw Avour climbing out the underground is just a little farer away, say 50 peds. and the thieves are close to this corner!

Avour, you at least should have seen Swing galloping past you coming from the ship and trying to rescue me.

Title: How should we carry on?
Post by: Ta'lia of the Seven Jewels on May 29, 2002, 08:36:22 PM
Now that Capher will be gone for some time for sure?

1. Freeze it, not really an option for me, because Talia is frozen then as well.

2. Stop it, bring it to an end somehow, so that every char is free to do something else.

3. Carry on without Capher.Perhaps carry him along as Brownie who doesn't say much. We go onto the ship which brings us to Milkengrad without an forced excursion to the trademarkets of Shan'Thai, that was Caphers idea and without him I don't see how we can realise it.
I don't know how Capher wanted to carry on with the story (Koldar?), but  - with Capher being a Browny - this could be our task, bring Capher to his master in the White Tower. (Where is it by the way?)
On the ship we could tell some stories!! (Koldar!) Every char tells some of his history, his adventures, maybe even you, Terra?

This are no proposals from me yet, just some ideas, please add some more.

Hajarian?

I thought, we might use the ship and get slightly lost at sea either ending up in Shan Thai, on the Seashoals or somewhere else.
More free-form-RPG without that ultimate task in the neck.. :)
Denilou might be funny, too.

The Nerman map shows it on the northwestern eadge. Only planning I know was that we get to find the "anvil of don't know"(seee story desc) in the Prominent mountains. Problem, without Capher our chars are not meant to know that after Milkengrad the North is our goal.

As above, mainly some ideas...

I agree, we can#t go on with Caphers story.
Shan'thai is not much developed, so we have to do some work for gean, LOL,
We could meet Aeneas sisters, the Sor'int, that would be fun!

Have to look at Denilou first, no idea what we could find there...

I thought we keep the OOCV for a while, matching the main thread.
Any other proposals for the subject?

And, we have to decide now what to do!

I think the most logical would be  in this situation, to try to bring Capher and the heart to the White Tower, who knows what might happen in between.

Have to go and to look where it is...

That will be the problem. I looked for the location of the White Tower with the search tool and found only Caphers story, and there the white tower isn't mentioned, though I didn't reread all. So in the moment I have no clue where it is.
And I don't know if he told us near Strata something. Well, if we don't know anything about the white tower and of the master of Capher (Talia doesn't know that he is a dragon either) we have to find a solution how to help Capher otherwise. For the story it is the easiest  - with him not being here  - to carry him along as a brownie. Who could help him? We know of Ximax, should we go there?

OK, now, do we want to continue with Caphers idea, and have the crew attempt to kidnap us, or do we want to develope a new subplot for the journey aboard the Black Perl?

My Idea for the bunking arangement is this. The men are bunked seperately from the women, in cramped bunk rooms, possably across the corrador from each other. Either the guys meet Hajarian in the bunk room, or we all meet him in the corrador outside one of the bunk rooms.

Now is Issabelle participating in this story? I do not think we have had a straight answer on the yet. If she is we could meet her in a similer way as I proposed for Hajarian, or as a prisoner somewhere on the ship.

I could need some answers before I can attemp to create more ideas, although other ideas are welcome as well.

Well, what would they try? They would bring us onto the high Sea that we cannot escape and then imprison us I guess. I don't know how we should plan out this kidnapping thing.

Do the dwarves plan to sell us in Shan Thai or on the Seashoals or do they have some other "purpose" about the ladies? The difficult part would be to get off the ship. Could prove difficult on the high Seas...

I am wide open to other Ideas. I am not keen on plying the captain in a major roll myself, but I assume no matter the subplot we choose we will need to have some interaction with him.

I only proposed the kidnapping as Capher built up this subplot.

Title: New plans
Post by: Ta'lia of the Seven Jewels on June 07, 2002, 06:20:22 PM
I didn't look it up, but Caphers idea was that the captain and his second had "special ideas" what to do with the ladies until they reached Shan'Thai to sell us all on the slave markets.
I could imagine Capher very well writing this part for the captain, but  are you willing to do it as well?

We could plan a kidnapping without the Ladies being endangered in i a special way. Do we want to go to Shan'Thai at all?
Or what about a confrontation with the captain on the way to Milkengrad?
Or the ship sinks on the way there and we land anywhere as ship wrecked?
Or the winds blow us to Nybelmar , though the main direction of the winds is north-south along the western coast of the sourthern part of the Sarvonian continent(just defined it this way, lol)

I have no idea....and will follow you into the deepest dungeon

If there is some way to continue with out taking over Capher's main plot then I think that we can go on. It just doesn't seem right going on with his story with out him...? Or am I just being a fuddy duddy here..? If there was some sub plot which could be created then maybe. But Thalambath's Heart, and the "now what" was all "for" Capher wasn't it? With out him, there isn't really a story. Perhaps something with Koldar in Strata, or Terra / Talia in the area crops up?

Isabelle / Sammy is on holidays until the 10th, and then she'll prob take a few days to catch up. Whether she'll be in the story or not I'm not sure, but that's whats happening with her.

Who do we definatly have in the story?

Talia / Koldar / Terra / Avour / Almenda

Between the five of us, I'm sure there is something that we can come up with - perhaps an Avour Adventure to get it all goin? :lol

We can put off the actual Kidnapping until near the end of the voyage.

Or we can abandon the ship before it leaves, persue some other plot, and have another meeting with the black perl later when Capher gets back.

We could have our ship break up due to a storm and when we all are swept on the land  discover that the heart is gone, maybe taken from a dwarf? Then our task would be to get it back.

The kidnapping could take place later on another ship when Capher is back.

***Astropic of the day***

Title: Re: OOC V
Post by: Terra Artemos on June 11, 2002, 09:13:22 AM
Talia seems to have the best idea so far of how to avoid taking over Caohers story, so I am going a slightly differant direction with it. The crew on the Black Perl will hold off on the actual kidnapping until there journey is almost finished, but in the mean time we run into a storm that causes so damage to the ship, and forcing the crew to put in at the next harbor, and allowing us to depart in the storm, relativly unimpeeded.

I have been looking over the maps. It looks like there are several places we could make land fall between Strata, and Milkengad, the Scattersand Shoals being the first.

I could do some character developement things with Terra in Sophronia if we go tha way, or get that far before Capher returns. These I would prefer to leave for a while though.

So I guess the question is where should we put in?

I could bring Ashen in, if there are still any issues with Issa as well.

With Issabelle, im not worried about her getting a little roughed up. I love drama so I wouldnt worry. My understanding was she was suposed to be kidnapped, and held on the ship, for whatever reason. I dunno.

currently discussing possible sideplot for the story in Capher's absence.

I don't know but I guess the theft of the Heart would be good (not necessarily by a dwarf but anyway). Losing the ship might be somewhat drastic except anyone is willing to lose his mounts though their existance might also influence where and why to go.
Somehow it seems that Talia is not for the kidnapping right now, is that correct?
I guess the general question is wether to go north or south and what our goal should be(I guess the retrieval of teh Heart would be one), into the unknown south or into the well-developed areas of Santharia...

Ok, how about this.

The Black Perl initialy set sail travaling southeast past the Scattersand Shoals, intending to turn west south of the Shoals, sail towards the cost of Aeruillin, and follow it towards Shan Thai. But instead of turning west the ship encounters a freak storm that prevents them from traveling west, or returning to strata, and forces them to sail north up the coast. The ship though serviving the savage storm, is damaged and the crew is forced to take shelter in the gulf of Maraya, and make repairs.

Now as for the plot onboard I am of vary few Ideas, but what I have figured out so far is this. The men and women will be bunked separate bunk room, separated by the bunk room occupied by the crew, which would have made it easier to do away with the men (At least in my mind.). We would meet Hajarian, and Issabelle in these respecive bunk rooms.

Does this work for everyone?
What should be our on ship plot, other than the kidnapping that we are saving for some time when Capher returns?

Right Koldar, I can't imaging a kidnapping WITH a special interest of the dwarves in the women without Capher, kidnapping in general would not be bad, but maybe doesnt lead anywhere, well, adds some dramatic.I think we could get our riding animals out of the ship if it just sits on a sandbank, cliff or whatever,it must not sink.
And in the moment I would prefer the cooler developed north. If a dwarf thieves the heart , this could lead us into dwarven caverns....

Now, I've read that the most dangerous thing at sea (Not counting sea monsters) is a fire. Even though there is a lot of water around, fire is a big problem. Now, I've the ability to crate fire anywhere, as long as there is heat I can take to crate it. Now in the dessert, there was a lot of heat, but out at sea there isn't that much. Unless someone get's a fever. Then I could take the excess heat and start a fire on board. That would cause the crew to panic, And have them untie us to help put out the fire, but I would make the fire stop soon after they release us. I would have the whole ship under my control. :Evil

But that's if we get kidnapped.

So, what you think?

I think the storm would do well enough. We are trying to avoid taking Caphers kidnapping plot.

What will happen, is the storm will kick up as we sail along the eastern side of the Scattersand Shoals. The storm will keep the crew busy, and we will most likely be stuck below as the crew struggles above to keep the ship together, and get it clear of danger. Mean time we do something below decks it keep ourselve busy, or so. Once the ship gets to shelter in the gulf of Maraya, we decide to depart the ship in the aftermath of the storm, when the crew is either too busy, or unwilling to follow. Then what we do from there I do not know.

We can now continue I guess unless anyone has some serious objections.

I see this as being a chapter where we are all stuck below decks while the storm rages, and get to know each other better. I have no subplot Idea, so we will make it up as we go along.

So I guess we stumble over the other passengers, have some freeroleplaying at first, then storm breaks loose and we get stuck in the bunkrooms and then leave when we arrive at a different coast?

Only want to summarize our plans, that there's no confusion and we can get going again. :)

Nah, ya didnt do to much cause im still at a loss as to where I am. Lol

I am guessing, tal is talking to a little dwarven man and the man is asking about Tal and Issa?

Ill post... See what I can come up with. ~shrugs~ Issa would most likely Sleep outside on the deck, or anywhere where other people are not. Unless she runs into someone who for whatever reason she will trust.. but I doubt that will happen.

Dunno. Lol....

A small comment on your "beds". Saliors usally use hammocks, so as the ship rocking back and forth won't bother them.

Oh, and most of the time saliors actually sleep on the deck, as there is usally not much room in side.

I read alot.

Post by: Ta'lia of the Seven Jewels on June 18, 2002, 06:44:22 AM
Maybe Almenda, but we are led under the deck, the sailors don't want us to be outside. And I didn't read alot of books about that stuff (infact none, and though I watched the seawolf I can't remember how they slept), but I saw once an old ship(museum like) in SF and there the sailors had excactly "beds" like this, plain wooden planks, with a vertical plank to prevent falling out.But it doesn't matter, just unfold your hammock and fasten it somewhere, lol.

Issa, your post doesn't fit to mine, as I wrote it was you that jumped from the bed, you can't therefore slip past us, (the dwarf wasn't meant to come into the room).

Another point: Please write in present tense, either we agreed on doing it so or is it a rule in the general introduction to roleplays? Well, the flow of the story is better if all write in the same tense, and most people prefer here the present tense. Thanks :-)

Issa, Talia is right, imediatly after we enter the bunkroom, the Dwarf would head back to the deck to attend his duties there, as would the Dwarf with the men.

Now, really your post does not work on two levels.
First, the cooradors are narrow such that two dwarves could barely pass each other if they press themselve against the walls. I believe this would be true of all fast wooden ships. You would not be able to pass undetected, and without coming in close contact with the Dwarf should you choose to attemt to pass. I say this as I doubt the crew would allow you to just wonder around the ship while they cast off.

Second, the deck would be heavily populated with dwarves, and they would not allow you there, as it could hinder their work.

Note that on wooden ships, particulaly those built for speed as the Black Perl is, hold space as a premium. The fact that the Black Perl has a hold for animals would make it unique.

Talia, good writing, but as I am nit picking, I might as well be fare about it. First, I vary much doubt Terra would be astonished by any thing in the situation other than the fact Issa did not split her skull open leaping off the top "bunk?". Now as I am on the subject of bunks, bunkrooms, and Issa, These bunkrooms are cramped, and would barely house six people, with three bunks to each side, and some small latching cubords at the far wall for storing a few personal effects, and some cloths.

Now there is realy two reasons I do not see Issa leaping from the top bunk. First is the size of this room, and the fact that the top bunk would most likely be just far enough from the sealing for a person to almost sit upright, or just right for a Dwarf to do so. The spacing between bunks would be the same. Second is the the gown Issa is wearing in her post. Unless she chooses to change the clothing in her post, I would not concider your scenario viable either.

The way I see things working in this situation, this is just my suggestion though, is Issa is present in the room, in a bunk or otherwise, noticed or otherwise, when we arrive she would tollerate our pressence just long enough for the dwarf to leave, and hurry back to the deck. Then Issa could hurriedly leave, and perhaps go to another part of the ship.

Anyway I will post my actions soon, as your decitions should have little effect on my planned post.

LOL You are right, Terra, but I think even you would be a bit astonished, just not showing it! I will change this.
I thought first of four bunk beds, but then wanted to introduce Issa and added a third row, so that she could hide in the dark. but you are right, probably Talia could have looked into that third as well and there is no need to climb. To the number of bunk beds, I thought it might be even more in such a room, cabins with only 6 beds for the members of the crew? Possibly not! should I change the part with Issa as well and leave her sitting in a bed, maybe underneath?

Issa, you would have to change your post then as well please.

Btw, with this person the dwarf missed I meant Capher.

***************
changed my post now, is it ok this way? I though from your previous posts you would try to hide when hearing voices coming near.

Issa would have never entered her Cabin. Nor was she ever on any bunk, which means she never jumped from it?

Too boot... Ive been writing as I do, for 8 years... And in some of the rps Ive had here... and theyve all been fine with it. Too Used to it to want to change now.

~shrugs~ You can delete my post... LIke ive been saying. I havent a clue where Issa is, I guessed. Just forget it. Im too tired to bother right now. Issa would not have ever followed anyone into the room.  She would have only followed them to see where the room was, if anything. If she went in the room with them, she would have most likely been cornered into talking to them. Not something she would have put herself through.

Well, if you didn't like what I posted, then you should have said it in the first place, I offered to change it. I thought you would like to join, so I tried to introduce you.My asumption was that the dwarves have surely adviced you to go into this cabin as they did with us, wanting to have their passengers out of their activity.
If you are too shy to meet people and want to avoid them, how do you think you can interact with us? Just sitting somewhere on the ship and doing your own roleplay?

So are you in and   don't want to meet the members of our party   just now, or are you too tired to join in general?

meet people with time... She would have no choice... And I didnt read that in your post... At least didnt follow it. Which would be why I said I had no idea where she was.

And just cause someone told her to do something, doubtful that would make a difference to her :Evil

She doesnt always do what shes told. Lol.
Which is why I thought her being held prisoner, or hostage was a good idea. Would force her to meet people that came to talk to her...

~shrugs~

I will get into the Roleplay...No problem... But like I said... She wouldnt be tooo quick to meet people, especially not locked in a room.
An I cannae change the way I write.

I don't know but wouldn't the crew behave normally still we are on the high seas? Currently we have no reason to suspect anything and when we're on the High Seas we have little chances for resistance(we can't sail the ship alone if anyone can sail at all) and swimming away is there not a good thing either... just my thoughts. :)

LOL Avour, Koldar will soon start to say:" More realistic, people"

LOL, If you actually understood what Avour is trying to say I think you are the first character to do so. We are all too tired to understand much. In our present state I think even if Avour pegged you as a dragon we would discount it, at least for the present time.

I could see how it is confusing for your character. If you go your true nature may be descovered, on the other hand if you don't it may seem you are hiding something.

Terra already knows you are hiding something that makes her uneasy. She knows most have things they hide. (Using her keen observational skill.) She has Capher pegged as some sort of wizard though, and suspects you are along the same lines, so she can be wrong, and well, is wrong. :)

My advice if my character was in the same position, she would find some way of finding out what they know. Just an "If I were you..." statement. :)

Ephesianos, you need to go to the character descriptions forum and get a title after creating a character bio. After you get accepted and get a title, you have to ask the moderators of the story of your choice if you can join.

Did you not see the 'New Player Information' forum at the top? Go there and read the First Steps for Role Playing thread, and then go create a character at the Character Descriptions forum.

Reply | Edit | Del  A ship above water?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
((I am simply going to plow in, yell at me if this newbie is assuming too much by butting in))

Sometimes the sun played tricks on the eyes this late in the afternoon. The rays glancing off of the gleaming water would make a thirsty man see land, or a lonely man see love. Sometimes a stray sun ray just at the right angle could make any man see God. Golden and gleaming and walking on the water, but just for a moment, then fading back into the never ending wonderful but deadly desert of blue. But this aberration was no God, nor was it the lonely hungry vision of a watchman seeing land or mermaid. This was another ship. And yet, one had to assume that this vessel was a simple play on the eyes or a trick of the sight. For this ship, long and thin, black and silver, sailing smoothly along clear blue sky outlined with clear blue water, was not sailing in the desert of rain, but above it.

Ephesianos Pheynil was no captain. Nor was he a ship mate. Though he now stood with one foot propped carelessly against the edge of his ships front railing. He was in fact a mage, and a powerful one at that. He looked down for a moment. Ebony locks drifting carelessly about his chiseled featured face. They would stick to his forehead with the ocean spray and tug with the wind when it wasn’t filling the many sails. He looked down at the ocean. The ocean that seemed strangely farther away than it should or could be. In truth, he was above the water. He glanced up again, focusing his attention to something far in the distance. His eyes were dark and penetrating, and they were now trained on what seemed to be a dot on the ocean and what he knew was another ship. He was gaining fast and wondered if he should go below and magically change the course for a moment in order to make sure he did not catch the smaller ship within the wake of his magical undertow. Such magical power would surely disrupt the ships easy sailing and there was no telling what may lie on board that some heavy rocking might disturb. He disappeared under deck.

Below was nothing but luxury. No sleeping quarters for merry working men, and no tools for rigging or swabbing the deck. There were however glowing sigils, sigils all over everything. The ancient runes known only to the magic user were inscribed on the walls down to the floorboards. He walked past a dinning hall almost as large as one used in a rich mans home. The ceiling was curved up and the walls arched around the room. High into the ceiling large windows looked out into a blue sky. The ship was very large. He wondered what this strange ship so far away from land would be thinking as he made his way past. He wondered if they would bring trouble or perhaps stories. He wondered if he should stop and perhaps offer some Elvin Wine or Barbarian Steak. He decided then, as he changed some of the sigils near where a rudder should have been that he would allow them to make the first move. After returning to the deck, his ship now slowing down and the wind around it calming as well, he looked at the other ship. It seemed so small compared to his massive hulk of a vessel. There was a slow deafening roar as his ship slowly descended into the water and began to slow to a stop. Whether they were hostile or not he couldn’t just allow himself the opportunity to miss an opportunity. Besides, they would think him rude to just blow past, literally, and maybe even wreck half of their ship with the powerful magical undertow. He watched then carefully, side by side with the setting sun. Wondering what they would do, wondering what he should do.

Brownie??  Oh yeah I still am a brownie, and in umm... the little fella's pocket.  I forget his name.  I hope he doesn't hold that against me. (claims ole timers disease.)

Talia- looking ravishing as usual?

Avour- Has your language skills improved yet?  Just kidding, I have missed our little half elf.

Koldar, *wraps arms around him, then jumps back and looks around a little embarrassed.*  Um.... good to see you buddy. *Nods at Talia*  How are things going between you and Talia?  Any sparks flying yet? :D

Dasson- I thought that name looked familiar, now I know.  Well my friend maybe if no one else finds you, I will.  Can't having you wasting away in the bowels of the ship, can we?

Oh and who is this?  Issa- my sister??  I thought all of my family died during the year of darkness?  hmm... this should be interesting, looking forward to role play with you.

Well give me sometime to read up and I will post soon.  I PROMISE!!!!!!!!!!

Title: Feelings described - what knows your char?
Post by: Ta'lia of the Seven Jewels on August 01, 2002, 07:32:22 PM
Hey people, wanted to say a thing:
Please remember that you have to distinct between what is written about the feelings described and the appearance of a char . Your chars can‘t know as much as you do. F.e. how Talia looked for you on the deck. She surely did behave somehow strange, but you could  not tell apart why or if this was just a normal behaviour when she is tired. Issa, you could probably not tell that Talia was upset seeing Koldar close to you. She might act so impolite and short  with words every day. Maybe only Avour with her ability to feel how others are feeling and even knowing more than they do (at least Avour knows more about Talias feelings for Koldar that Talia herself knows) could see clearly what is happening.
I hope I could express clearly what I meant, just don‘t react on the feelings described, but only what you can see, feelings might be expressed in the face or body and behaviour, but you do know more than your chars.

Capher, what do you think could help you change back?
A big amount of the energising drink?
My sword? But it reflects magic and that would mean in the end it would show your real form, not your human, that is a shapeshifted form as well.Could maybe avour with her healing abilities in her blood help you, or all three things?
Maybe that you would show for a part of a second in your true form to give Talia a hint?

It should be a bit difficult. Or maybe Harry (sorry Dasson, login with your char and I might remember Harijan...)meets you while looking for me and is able to help you, has at least an idea?

Hey Talia actually I was thinking that Haijarin magic along with your drink and sword.  The idea of using Avours blood with all of these things would help me get back to ole self again.  What do you think?  Anyone?

Haijaran your on buddy.  I have found you and am talking to you, well at least trying too.  LOL.

Title: How to continue...
Post by: Ta'lia of the Seven Jewels on August 05, 2002, 08:15:22 AM
..now?

I thought following could work.

1. I give you, Capher, some of my drink, should be some in Swings saddlebags, that will strenghten you , butI  don't know what to do further on. Do we have to tell Hajarian what happened to you, that you are a shapeshifter or will you find out it as well?
2. Hajarian, you are feeling/knowing  as a magician that my sword has magic abilities, it can reflect magic. So if you, Capher would tough it, you could be changed back, but primarly to your dragon form. With my drink now you should be able to get your human form, but not very easily, you have to fight not to become a dragon. Hajarian, you  could tell me what to do and propose it?

3. You have your form back then, but it is difficult to keep it, and therefore you, Capher, would need Avours help?

That is just a proposal, had no better ideas. Just remeber, that my sword can't heal you, but would bring you back to your original form.

Title: Re: How to continue...
Post by: Capher on August 05, 2002, 09:05:22 PM
hm... interesting concepts Talia.  I am not sure I want anyone to know my true identity.  Would take away the mystery of my existence.  However, your drink would restore my mind enough to think clearly through my problem.  I think that with Avour's blood and help from my Master, who I would remember now, that my mind is clear again, I could get my human form back with out revealing my identity completely.

However to add a little excitement, your sword could flash my true identity for just the briefest of moments in front of you and Hajarian.  That would make you think, and make Hajarian stick around for he would want to know if what he saw was true or not?  For he is a man after power and what more powerful thing is there than a "named" dragon, especially one who works for the Wizard of the White Tower.  I am not sure how Hajarian's character would react, to stay around and pretend to be our friend, to learn of Capher's secret?  And somehow try and steal his power, if that is possible? Or if during our travels, he actually becomes our friend, though in the beginning his motives were different.  That, of course, would be up to him.

Anyhow it would be great to be back in human form, though being a brownie does have its advantages.  Like being able to tickle a pretty girls ear with a lock of her hair, and whisper into her ear.  Without getting slapped!!!  LOL.

Actually... Hajarian recognizes the name.... as that name is mentioned in history... Capher being the one who was sent to help Ethan during the War of the Chosen.

Ahh... here we are...
Dragon language is the most powerful language for magic and he was taught it by a rare Shapeshifting Dragon that Seyella had selected for his support. It is reported that this dragon has helped all of Seyella's wizards of Nalgsahg even to this day. Ethan named him Capher meaning "saw-faire" because he was helped by Seyella to see the future.

But would you belief it,even if you have read it somewhere, Hajarian? Maybe, but you surely wouldn't tell me, lol

Capher, I thought on nothing more than just a glimpse.A part of your really shape, but more like a unsharp image of something, or like you see something with the corners of your eyes, but if you look closely it has vanished.you wouldn't fit in this room anyway, lol. How does this shapeshifting work anyway, what do I see?

If your mind is coming back with the drink you could know for yourself that the sword might help you somehow.

Capher, you shall here of this for the rest of your natural dragon life. You shall wake up screaming from nightmares of me, never knowing who I was!  You shall laugh, as this is a joke! ;)  But really, I hope no one else forgot me.

The reunion went off ok. (That was the thing  that kept me from you all this time.) After that, we went down to Kansas (I don't remember how to spell it, though to me this looks right.) to see my grandma on my dad's side.  There my sister went to live with my oldest brother, who lives in New Jersey with his native New Jersey-ian wife,  and his 2 year old daughter, whom my sister must babysit to gain room and board. From Kansas, we went to Yellowstone national park, and then to Montana and back to Washington through Idaho.

Now that you know alot abot why I was gone, I shall read up on past story posts, and add some of my own, hopfulally today. Now, I am off.

Err... Capher, when Hajarian said he was of the 10th Circle, he meant of Ximaxian spell levels. The 10th Circle, or grade, or level, etc, is the highest possible level to obtain short of being one of the 11 archmagi, who are, incidentally of the 11th Circle.

But... hmm... this could fit quite nicely. I'm currently re-doing Haj's history, as the old one no longer has any effect, and I was wondering how exactly his influence would allow him to command vast armies of mercenaries and the like(as which he provides these in the Armaggedon story), as well as a large, stone fortress in the Warnaka Mountains(what a coincidence... seeing as how these are the same mountains of where your master, The Wizard of the White Tower, makes his home, in the.. err... White Tower) This could work out nicely.... indeed.... muahaha.

No, Talia, once we have Koldar and then we in our original group find someplace secluded and with Avours blood I finally regain my original shape.  How we explain my appearing and the brownie gone to Hajarian is something I have to think about.  Or I just may let him see me change.  He would just think I am a shapeshifter, not necessarily a dragon.

Have to think about this, and Hajarian I could use your input on this.

Thanks

Capher.

I didn't mean it like it may have sounded, Capher, and I think Talia didn't see this little Brownie as having a gender, lol.
She might be aware of what she did when you have your human size back; LOL

I'm away till Friday night, giving my older daughter a treat with visiting every Anime shop in Nürnberg and Erlangen

Actually... the clues would point to you being a shapeshifter dragon.... the 'flash' of your true form was that of a shapeshifter dragon, your speech, intelligence, and power magnitude, your shapeshifting abilities, and your name are all big clues to Haj.

*shrugs*

Maybe you can not have Hajarian be there when you get your form back, but when you explain it to him you say that you were under some kind of illusionist spell that made your appearance and physical properties that of a brownie, and that the duration of the spell had just worn out, or you used some kind of potion or whatnot to fix it.... Haj would still be suspicious, but wouldn't know for sure... yet...

Oh well.... just the input you wanted.....

Under construction. To be up, hopefully, sometime before October 2002.

Thanks Haj, I like that last idea.  And you are right the first one would give Haj too many clues.

LOL, Talia,  I am sure you would think about it when I became a human again.:lol  :lol   I hope Koldar never finds out. :lol  :lol

Hmm... Good question? Issa.  I think that since you are in the womans quarters it maybe a possiblility, however I think I would probably just shift in front of those who already know I can shift.  The original group.

What do you think, Issa?  Would you rather I stay a mystery to you or shift and have you wondering?  There are other shifters besides dragons you know.  And my true shape would never be revealed when I shift.

Not sure honestly. Issabelle probably wouldnt question his shifting, meaning she probably wouldnt assume he was her brother... But at some point shes going to find out... That was the idea... Right?

Doesnt matter to me too much either way...~shrugs~

But capher, may find out what She is because of the little one saying she is capher kin... Who knows.... Whatever happens happens....

Don't worry everyone.  We will be back soon.  As far as somethings to do until we all get back together.  Start noticing the dwarves acting suspiciously.  Even you Issa.  They are all planning on killing us men, and then selling you women at the slave markets at Shan'thai.  Of course they plan on having a little fun with you all first.

Would Issa allow anything like that too happen though, not to herself anyway. I dunno. Unless they tranq her, or drug her and completly mess her mentally up, she would probbably defend herself, even if it means shifting.

Yeah, Issa, but now you are forcing the whole group to look for an other place for Caphers shapeshifting, we didn't want to have someone looking, therefore I send Hajarian away.
Otherwise I would have put Capher on the floor now or bed or somewhere and he could shapeshift in his next post - with Avours help.I simply can't take him out of my tunica with you looking - how embarrassing, LOL

And I thought Issa would never search the company of foreigners if she couldn't avoid this, didn't you tell me this when I wanted to introduce you with this very first post after entering the cabin the first time?

Title: Re: join
Post by: Ta'lia of the Seven Jewels on September 19, 2002, 09:18:22 PM
Hmm, don't know Zeadon, the story is going slowly in the moment....lets see what the others say, we have already two and a half warriors..

Issa, now I made you angry again, what I didn't intend to. Don't you see my point? You knew that the group was looking for a place where we could be alone for Caphers shapeshift. If you are bored, why didn't you choose to run into Hajarian who would like some things to do as well?

What I find annoying is your way to tell me then to delete your post or your char, instead of - perhaps - editing your post . That  seems to me like a defiant kid throwing things to the ground  when something doesn't go to its liking.

I will write a post soon - with you in the room.

Hmm.. It seems we need to move this story along.  I know that my Charac has been monopolizing alot of this time.  I just figured that the others would start their own conversations and such.  It seems I am wrong.  Lets get me back to human shape and maybe we can get out of this boredom for some.

How I am not sure, but we can try.

Title: Re: join
Post by: Sammykins on September 20, 2002, 12:07:22 AM
Angry, no, Annoyed and tired... yes.

At this point I have other important things to worry about then Her in this plot, seen how nothing is really happening. Hence me saying delete her and her post because I dont care.

Im exhausted irl and not too healthy. So I havent been able to completly keep up, so when I made an assumption and had her go somewhere where she can lay down and I OOC can relax and just leave her, without completly leaving the plot without worrying that I am leaving anyone hanging. She intended on laying down and not paying attention anyway.

She honestly has no place in this plot. I dont know why I bothered. Her and Capher will probably not talk, because she wont just Sit and talk to people, Koldar was no threat, so she talked to him for a few moments. I doubt she would get too close to Capher, because she would sense something about him and it would make her uneasy. If she witnessed him shift, she may figure it out and relax... But she isnt going to see that, and like I said, I doubt she will just automatically trust him.

I hope as well, that you feel better now, Issa.

To all: I pushed us forward, hope you don't mind, otherwise I will edit, just tell me!

Issa, you are already invoved in the plot, and you have a place if you will take one and look for one.I do not have the wish nor could I do it, deleting it all.I think this was only your tiredness and feeling unhealthy. If you really don't care and want to leave, you have to decide it and do it on your own.
