Title: OOC: After the disaster
Post by: Ta'lia of the Seven Jewels on June 02, 2005, 06:55:22 AM

Hello all!

I think we have been lucky, compared to other boards, and I still haven't given up the hope, that parts will come back.

If not - we can't help and we will go on as planed (though we have to do the planning first). It is a sad thing, especially because I always thought I make a story out of this RPG in ..ahh ten years or so . This won't happen to us again, for I will now download the site in regular intervalls (have done it already, what was left only though).

I got some ideas how to go on, but have still to write them down. (at latest tomorrow morning)

Chin up!

Well here is a question for you Talia.  Do you want Terra to bring your dune mouse before the meeting with the hight circle, or should I wait till after?

Also it would be much appreciated if you control the high circle as my knowlage of elves is limited to the Co'orhem, and how they age, nothing terribly helpfull for writing posts for important elves.

Hi all,

I'm glad you've decided to continue on with the story - even though I'm not involved yet.  I do have my audition and CD (both were deleted) on the hard drive, which I can post when things get going again.

In the meantime, is there anything I can do to help?  If you need to contact me by email, rather than here on the boards, my address is: trelstahl@hotmail.com

Cheers everyone!

Yah, good to hear from you. I think its best to follow Luca course of actions and see what is restored by the weekend. I was also thinking of opening for more audions just in case we decided we one or two really interesting characters, but if not Tythle can repost his Sheao audition.

**Dasson here**

I'll be trying to work harder at being able to post more often.

I've got 7 days left of high school, and then I'm done. If not able to post within the next week or so, I will certainly have plenty of time afterwards.

Although I'll probably do solo RP searching for the Heart for a time to see just how fast I can get posts up, and then try moving back in with the group.

Capher checking in.  Talia my idea about getting back into the story is still up in the other OCC thread.  Is that a viable option for me to get back in? is what I am asking.

Also if you could email me with your ideas, I might be able to help.

Not sure if anything may yet be restored, but I guess a brief description of where we are in the story right now may be in order.

After the fight with the demon lord, the group (Terra, Hajarian, Talia , Teri, Melor and at a distance Garek) came to Aer‘ylffherim. Melor went off on his own with Talias sword still in his possession, while Terra, Hajarian, Talia and Teri were take to the healers temple. Terra lays resting/sleeping, still feeling the effects of the blow to the head she suffered in Chylikis, under the watchful eye of a healer. Talia is unconcious and badly burned, being tended to by many healers. Hajarian is about to leave to search for the Heart that was stolen during the battle, and Teri for now has moved into his way. Garek to my knowlage is still on route to Aer‘ylffherim and has the Heart in his possession.

Now what I want to know is how long will we wait to see if T's Heart gets restored and/or how much, and once we do decide to move on how long until we need the new charaters to be ready.

Also in the mean time should I reopen auditions, or should we stick with what we have?

Gets restored? Not entirely sure what you mean by that...

And... *points to Talia's post at the top of the forum* read that if you haven't seen it yet, Terra. :)

Just a summary what chars we have:

Terra- warrior, female, human
Talia -  adventurer (fighter), female, human
Teri -  adventurer (fighter), female, half-elf
Eden - cleric, female, dwarf

Hajarian, mage, male, elf
Ta'las - fighter, male, human
Capher - cleric, male, shapeshifting dragon
Gardwarf - ???? , male, dwarf

Depends on how active Teri can be...
Kenriil, Garrek,
NPC: Melor

Well, if all are active, we don't need any new chars. Even if Haj and Teri are going on their own quest. As soon as Eden and Gardwarf have joined.

We need a Brownie NPC.

Sheao: She would be an interesting addition, but I'm not really sure about posting quality, about motivation to join the group. I would like to see another longer post with Sheao, the provided one was just a sentence!(now lost)

I should have posted my proposal here, maybe I transfer it down here with all the answers, delete the above.

We need to think about, what kind of char we need for our story.

We could of course reopen the auditions to see, if someone interesting might be willing to join - and if only as guest char.

I have a tiny issue: I am not listed as a moderator of this forum.

That's not the issue. The issue is I still see little white boxes to the left of each thread.

I think, overall, Thalambath's Heart really didn't lose much, for an RP. However, for story-writing purposes, this really is a massively crippling blow. Best of luck, Talia.

I almost wonder if this doesn't now give us the chance to kind of refresh ourselves a bit, and prepare to drive on like never before. It could just be another chance to grow.

I think you dissapeared, because you were added quite late - that happened to the mods of  the herald as well. Now you are back, wonder if a admin has done it1

I try to start thestory again this evening.

Umm. Talia, I am starting a story line with just Capher in it, as he searches for you all.  He eventually finds the "Flute" as you mentioned and finds himself in that city...I can not recall how to spell it at the time.  I will be there before you heal and go in front of the High Elven Circle.   If after reading my post, this is not acceptable, then tell me and I will delete it.  Ok?

OK, started again as well. Capher, maybe Ta'las should post in your thread , so that we don'thave too many. Haj and maybe Teri(?) may need another extra one and maybe later Eden and other chars joining till they meet the group.

Will write something for the elves as well, but with  haj and teri leaving we are just two again *sigh*

We need our sword back - but how - Siroled with her visions again?

No, wait, I'm not leaving. That was a misunderstanding on my part, and I was about to go alter the posts when I showed back up and...

You know the rest of the story.

So... to be honest, I'm really not sure what to do with 'Teri at this point. Which I find really strange, coming from me. I can usually post just about anything from anywhere. Actually, I think right now I'll go make another post.

Melor is going to drop the sword off with one of Garrek's people here in Aer'Ylferian, declare himself off the case, and the following day, Garrek will arrive, pick it up, and proceed with the whole harassment where Melor left off. Sound fair?

And, when does Ken come in? A little chat with Terra kinda threw me off on that.

Good! *sigh*  Well, Teri would be summoned by the elves as well to tell the story, but in your last post you stepped into Haj's path, so you might as well go with him - for a while. I don't think, that Haj would go unnoticed in the forest, so you could be called for to the high circle any time.   Kenriil - he would probably not venture on his own into the Quallian, so we will meet him when leaving the forest. I think I have an idea about why he joins the group...   To all:  Don't forget to save your posts on your comp - for a while!

Talia, if Ta'las wants to post in my thread that is fine with me. I think my next post should put me at where you fought the demon lord and is that where you lost your flute?  i rorget and I definately can't check.  So if you remember please tell me, Ok.  So I do not mess up the facts in my posts.  Thanks.

Yes, I lost it when fleeing the demon.

It is really a pity, we lost this nice encounter with Shati, a NPC Koldar set on my track. I try to write up a short summary what has happened - and everybody else should do it as well, even if it covers the same events.
For now, Capher: We Teri and Talia, came to the bridge where the path, for now running on the westbank of the river, crossed it to lead to Vezash. We decided to go northward and moved a bit away from the road to a clearing to rest for the night. There the demon showed up, Talia threw her sword into the ground, it protected her and Teri from the demons magic, so they could flee. What happened to Shati is not known, for Koldar had left  at this time already. We fled dirctly to the Quallian, that did take a long ride on our fast aj of several hours.

I am somewhat lost as to what to do with Terra. Last I posted and currently she is sleeping, and though not in danger of falling into to deep of a sleep, but not prone to waking easily either. She is quite honestly exhausted both from trying to fight off the demon lord, and from not being fully recovered from her previous injury. Perhaps I will just make a post for her and the youngish healer watching over her to set the stage, and then she can be woken later for whatever meeting.

Talia, I hope this does not mess up your own post in the Quallian.  But read my last post in Capher's journey and you will understand.  I hope.  In fact I hope you are all reading mine and Ta'las "journey" posts.  So you can know what we are doing and why we will show up where you are.

BTW Ta'las, your RPing writing is very good.  I like it.  Mine is a bit rusty, but I will get better as I get into the swing of things I hope.

Terra, I have a suggestion.  You could get well, leave the temple and go back to the place where the demon attacked you all.  You could think that maybe you could find Talia's flute.  When you get there, you find me who had already found the flute.  I had already seen you in a dream...You recognize me but I am not to sure about you.   We have some discussion and you try and tell me who I am and what happened to me and then what happened to you since i was gone.

Then after much discussion the flute helps me decide to go with you.  How is that?  Will that work?  Or not?

Capher.

That sounds like an idea. Terra would likely approach Teri as she would seem to her more femilior to forests, and Terra would recognize her from the site where they battled the demon lord. With any luck, Teri will agree to guide Terra out of the forest, and they will head your way.

Hi everyone,

I just have a quick question - how likely is it that Ta'las would simply be "allowed" to walk into the Quallian? Is it more likely that he would be stopped soon after entering the woods and questioned as to his intent, or would the elves simply follow him until he neared the city?

Thank you for your kind words, Capher!  I am enjoying reading your journey northward, as well.  Very interesting character!

LOL Talas you are in the presence of the only remaining shapechanging dragon in play in Santharia. Either way we are glad to have him back. :)

I don't think they guard their boarders as such, and it seems the towns and cities would be built in secluded areas of the forest. You may bump into one of the elves though. I am not really all that sure to tell you the truth.

Talia, I would like to hear what inspirations you have concerning Terra.  And I believe either this post will have me in the Quallian.  The next one or at the very least another one will probably find me at the place where you fought the demon.

So if Terra is allowed to leave.  Then somehow Terra and I must be able to corridinate our meeting.

BTW I have slowed down my journey somewhat, to allow this discussion to go forward.  I read Terra's post and that is another reason I slowed my journey down.  To allow that scene to develop, if it is allowed.  And to allow Ta'las to also get closer as well.

Yeah, Teri is staying...and the scene developes within the temple.  That is good...Then I will allow my post(s) to reflect what is going on, so that Terra and I can meet approximately at the same time in the clearing where the flute is.

Good, Fine, Everybody ready to go?  BTW welcome Eden to Thalambath's Heart.  When you arrive, I do not know...Talia is in better position to answer that question.  Maybe during the High Elven Circle meeting...not the one going on now.

But I do not know, so just stay tuned or write to Talia and find out.  I know that the Santhmoot will be starting soon, in about three weeks, I believe and she will be quite busy, I am assuming before and after.

Capher, you are so busy writing, it seems you ave to do now, what you missed in the past, LOL!
And yes, I'm proud as well, to have the last shapeshifting dragon with us ;) . Let's hope, that the rest of the new community is not aware of this too soon, otherwise we get complaints or people wanting to play with us! :lol

To the progress:
I thought, that Teri was with you, Terra, when you wrote this line : "Terra's eyes finally settled on the elf woman that had been where they faught the demon", so addressed her - should I wait for an answer?

If I remember right, Haj was still in the city, about to leave, when Teri stepped into his way, but I thought, this was changed now - what should we do? Edit?

To the Quallian: I don't think, that humans can penetrate far into the forest without getting lost - or noticed. I don't know about Capher and is abilities, but you two, Ta'las and Terra, I think you will not find a path without elven guide. Maybe even Teri not. I always imagine the forest thick, like an premeval forest, with not many visible paths.
Quote:
Due to the Ylfferhim’s extreme care to co-exist with the forest, the Quallian is one of the most untouched tract of woodland in Santharia

So Terra may have to ask for guidance out of the forest.

Capher, I know, that means , that you have to be patient...

We could stress Ylffiri or her friend again with guiding Ta'las to Aer'Ylferian. could any of you write her? Unfortunately I haven't saved  this NPC. Darn ezboard.

Luca, post your CD, but otherwise I fear, you will have to wait still a little time. I would like to meet you in the vale of the Brownies, as a guide to the dwarves.

I'll prepare the interrogation of Terra by Kurrun, then I can post it as sson as Teri has posted.

I'm not sure now - do you want to go with Haj, Teri?

Another question - do we still need other chars?
I still would favour Morcanaan and Slye, for they are good players, even if  we don't need their type of chars.., Sheao didn't show up yet.

No, not really. The reason she was attempting to follow him is because he looked like he knew what he was doing.

Interestingly enough, 'Teri would be hard-pressed to guide you much through these areas, although it would probably be better than going alone. She's lived a bit more of a human-style protected life than most half or three-quarter elves.

Well Teri, as a player I know Teri may not be able to guide Terra, but Terra as a character does not know this. To be honest there is much in Terra's mind about what happened back in the clearing that is fuzzy and out of focus, not so much from the demon lords influance but from the effects of her injury returning.

Umm... By the way, Terra should have aproached you and asked for Teri's help to guide her out of the forest before the young elf came for us.

Right now things are a little confusing. :|

Little update on me...

As I said in an OOC post earlier in the week, this week wasn't one where I could really be that active due to last-minute work and such for school. However, now that I have graduated from High School on Friday, that means I should be having a much more post-friendly schedule, and should be able to post a good deal times more per week.

Will be posting tomorrow, after I sleep.

Having left point A, at roughly what time would I reach the spot of the destruction? And from thence, how much longer before I would reach Aer?

Just a consideration. He's not moving at full speed, in an effort to conserve energy. The answer to the above questions really lies with Talia.

If he meets with Capher&co, then later he will be fairly well incognito, or possibly in a positive way. If he meets with Terra and 'Teri returning to that point, the tension rises dramatically. Your choice.

Of course I have nothing against you personally, but I'm afraid I've told you more than is safe...

Ta'las!!!  >:

:lol

@ Garrek:
Garrek, I always assumed you were following the group within some distance - or was it just melor coming with them?
Well, if not, then he has probably travelled not overnight, but the next morning and reaches the demon-vanishng site half an day after the events, in the afternoon or early evening - and to Aer'Ylferian it should not be more than .. two to three hours riding? Doesn't really matter.

My question is - why should he go back with Terra to the first demon-appearing camp, when Talia is still here. So he won't loose contact to the group - but who knows, what are the ways such a man thinks. But will he realise, why they are leaving the Quallian? How can he bring something to his knowledge? The Yllferhim villages are not this big, I think some few thousand people only. He seems to have people there however, those Melor had contact with. -

How much do the elder of the main city know about his actions though? He can't go totally unnoticed in such a small community.

A way for him to hold contact to the group without frightening Teri would however be Capher or Ta'las. (What does he want more - something to know about the gem - or frightening Teri?? :)  )

But it up to you, what to do!

For the distance I just looked in my old thread:

Chyliks- New Santhala, the direct line are 700 strals, so the Quallian is about 150 (?)  strals in its longest extenstion? But premeval forest, not easy to travel!

There must however be some forest between all the farmland which is not so dense outside of the Quallian - it doesn't show on the map though!

Got spiffs and spats of a post written, should have it finished later today I hope. Sorta not sure on where to take it, and I'm kinda having some personal complications elsewhere....

Nothing to be concerned about though.

Just not sure how to take the post.

Quick question: Am I going to be able to get the Heart, or would you prefer that at the end of it all I eventually meet back up with the group somehow without retrieving it?

Title: Question.
Post by: Capher on June 16, 2005, 02:45:22 AM
I have a question.  Should I wait for Ta'las to catch up to me before I go into the Quallian?  Or should I just go in?

I can see two different scenarios: Senario One: Ta'las because he is a Shendar, may bring back some memory of Talia to Capher and that would make him at least want to talk to him.  After some conversation, Ta'las tells the old man who he is searching for. when he mentions Talia's full name, that could also trigger a memory or two.

Scenario Two- The two meet at the edge of the forest. Ta'las does not like this old man, makes camp away from him and then goes on his way.  Sometime later, they both meet again where you all fought the demon.  There is alot of mistrust between both men, and then Terra shows up with Terri or whomever?

Actually there is a Third Scenario- Capher could just go into the forest without waiting for Ta'las to show up and then Scenario two at the "battle ground" would then begin.

So, Talia, Terra, Ta'las what are your thoughts on this?

Capher.

Title: Re: Question.
Post by: Talas Anthavin on June 16, 2005, 03:36:22 AM
Hi Capher,

Scenario 1 is doable.  Even though Capher started off ahead of Ta'las, Ta'las has been making good progress because of his Aj, so it is conceivable that we meet before reaching the Quallian.

I'm not sure I would go with Scenario 2, only because it would go against Ta'las' nature.  Unfortunately, because my CD was erased, you couldn't know that.  Ta'las is actually quite friendly when he first meets someone - he has found that it makes his job as a caravan guide much easier.

Here's my suggestion: I write up to the point where Ta'las catches up with Capher.  It is possible that they meet where the forest starts, some point before the "battleground".  Given his personality, Ta'las would stop to speak with Capher and share a meal - as is customary for Shendar. Then, we could write the scene where Ta'las mentions Talia, and triggers some of Capher's memory.

Let me know what you think!  :)

Post by: Ta'lia of the Seven Jewels on June 16, 2005, 04:29:22 PM
Well, as I said before, at least Ta'las can't walk through the Quallian just like this -
- he is a desert born guy, and as such totally forlorn in this premeval forest.
- You would be discovered by elves soon, especially now, where they are alert.

- Capher might be able to penetrate as a wolf

- you would not stumble over the place where the demon vanished just like this, for this the forest is too big, there are villages in between! Read the entry of the Quallian. The most southernmost is Geaf-something

- the place where the demon vanished  is guarded, I assume, you would not be allowed near there.

Why don't you meet at the place where the demon appeared first as proposed by Terra up the thread?

But this is quite a distance away from the Quallian (south), Swing needed several hours of running (an Aj!) to get from that place to the Quallian.

Title: Re: Question.
Post by: Capher on June 16, 2005, 11:17:22 PM
Yep Terra I was going to wait until I read that you started to head toward the "Battle ground"  What I am calling the place where the demon fought you all.  Just for reference.

Talia, I was just trying to draw Ta'las into the story.  If we followed Scenario one...then we would have to discuss how to get in the Quallian.  That would pose a problem, as I am sure Ta'las would not want to just leave his AJ, hanging around outside while we tramped around in the forest.  So the logical thing would be to head for that town, whatever you called it *reminds himself to look it up in map.*  That should take time, time enough for the scene(s) to develop inside the temple.

Where did the demon first appear?  Terra propesed it...Have to see if I can find it.  Will check back later and edit this post and Capher's journey if needed.

Is that ok?  Or does someone have a better idea?

Ok, Now I am really confused.  I looked at the map in here, and saw no cities.  I went to the main forum and read up on the cities and this is what I found.

Ten settlements- the only settlement you would find different races is called-Yln'fain'tir on a delta created by the Aieryn River, which is a branch of the Thaehelvil River and is on a lake called Aierynsayl.  Question?  Would not that be the place for humans or other races to go?  Especially if they want information as to how to enter the Quallian forest.

Geaf-a-ch'ran is just a small settlement, mostly a guard post to prevent those coming from the Southwest heading Northeast from entering the Quallian.

So, since I do not find a close up map with all of the cities and their places upon the map.  (If there is such a map, please tell me where it is as I can not find it)  Would it not be resonable to assume that Capher and Ta'las, after meeting and some discussion find their way to Yln'fain'tir, ask directions, find out about Geaf-a-ch'ran and then go there?

From there we gain entrance into the Quallian.  I am recognized as the "White Wolf" or whatever the old "Ylffer" language would call me and I am allowed to pass with Ta'las.

Just a thought, since Terri, is unfamilar with the Quallian, I assume she is, maybe she knows about Geaf-a-ch'ran and takes Terra there.  We could all meet there, after your meeting in the High Council.  That way Ta'las and I have something to do, while Terra, Terri, and whoever else in the High council finish your scene(s).

Those are just some thoughts.  Talia, since you seem to know more about what is going on than I do and have a plan. I will do whatever it takes to follow what you decide.

Capher.

It is really a pity, the old threads are lost... *sigh*
There is no map, but just this description here www.santharia.com/tribes/...ettlements

Actualy, the demon showed up probably already in Chylikis, but that is not important. The place Terra meant is a clearing outside the Quallian (see my last post), there the demon showed himself in the fire - the sword protected Teri and Talia, who had met earlier (the flute is lost here as well!). Talia fled with Teri on the back of the aj to the borders of the Quallian, they rested just inside, where they were found by a young elven woman, who brought them to the nearest settlement, Geaf-a-ch'ian {(Ylffer Elvish: "Meeting of Ways")
Rather like Drwsyl. Except here the roads head south east toward the Quaelhoirhim at the Zeiphyr, with whom the tribe have close ties.}

In the night, a mighty firemage, Furchego was at the southern border of the Quallian, fighting the demon. He was partly successful, Talia and Teri escaped, but the demon took partly possession of Furchego. Talia and Teri met this Furchego in Geaf-a-ch'ian, who should bring them both to the capital Aer'Ylferian (Old Ylffer Elvish "Home of the Ylffer People"). He leaves them alone for the night and returns as demon, so to say.

Terra and Haj follow Talias path, Terra finds the sword and the Dunemouse. The enter the quallian as well and are found by the same young woman and led to Geaf-a-ch'ian, from there they follow Talia, but arrive a bit to late...

Btw, my aj is in the Quallian...

Terra feels the urge to get back to the first appearance of the demon (the camp) I think, the elves, after having talked to her, will even escort them out of the quallain, so that they can go back to have a look. I think, this would be an ideal place to meet - use the flute for something, maybe it helps you remembering?

Something else: I‘m away for the weekend, leaving already tomorrow afternoon.

Ok - I have made my post to bring Ta'las up to the point where Capher was.  If this post needs editing, please feel free to do so.

I tried to indicate that he has not yet reached the forest, but that there are a trees scattered along the trail.  If my post gives the impression that Ta'las has entered the forest, then it will definitely have to be edited.

Perhaps from here, Capher and Ta'las can travel to the clearing outside the Quallian, where the demon showed himself in the fire, and Teri and Talia were protected by the sword.

I agree Terra, Talia will be very very busy.  But, I have reservations about you leaving the council.  Will not Kurrum, think it rude for you to leave without answering all of his concerns?

And what about Terri?  Isn't she supposed to go with you?

I know during this time it is hard to sit idly by...but maybe it might be good.  Besides Ta'las and I have a way to go before we reach the place where the "Demon" first attacked you all.

I am not telling you to post.  I am suggesting that we take a look at the big picture and decide whether it is prudent to wait.
That is all.

You do what you think is best for you.  We can always backtrack if need be.

@Ta'las I do not see a Charcter Descrip for you.  Was it somehow compromised when the EZ boards got hacked?

Well, if you really want I can wait, or if you can think of additional questions to be asked that would be good too, and allow the counil meeting to continue for at least a few more posts.

Terra is also reaching the limits of her memory in her current state, any more questions asked may have to go unanswered until such time as she can recall the information or events asked about. It all depends on what is asked.

It's not me Terra.  As far as I am concerned Maybe you could just post that I do not know anything else to Kurrum than request a leave of absence to go find whatever you think you must find.  Then leave.  You could make your way to the meadow and somehow we meet.

What with the Santhmoot going on.  I don't believe their are going to be that many roleplaying characters around.  Also in about a week many will be going on vacation.  As it will be the fourth.

As I look over the board, I do not see that many players active.  Even in other stories.  So, I do not know what is going on.

Okay, I'm gonna drop from the story. I've been trying to dredge on for the past few months but I just can't get my interest back into it to be able to post frequently enough. Seeing how fast it moves without me slowing it down, I don't wanna jeopardize that. Due to the lost interest it takes me a long time to come on over and look at the thread, and even longer to come up with a post, which tends to be a half-hearted attempt anyways.

I'm at a point where my char can safely disappear. Just have it so that no one knows where I went off to. Character didn't abandon the group or get lost, but somehow has gone "missing". Could perhaps provide a plot arc from that. None of the Quallian elves would be able to find him, or have even seen him since he left the temple.

@ Capher!

It is just great! And so much fun. Can‘t be compared to anything else, no holiday or relatives meeting. It is not only fun but really so satisfactory to discuss Santharian matters  at a table, to look at a map and be able to point to it. I dread the day all are gone.

Yes, somehow the internet personalities match the real person. Art was Art, just that he spoke the vienesian dialect - oh wonder :lol  (sometimes I am stupid)

Only Gregor could write the Ximax rat, and what I felt when commenting his entry was somehow him, though I didn‘t know how he looked of course.

And Rayne - no, she is so much nicer as I imagined, adopted her at once as an additional daughter.

Artemis, a queen, my queen, it was the right thing, that I proposed this title for her.

And no, I have some time to write a sentence or two - not to much though, have to go down to them. And it is not as stressy as you might think, my family is supporting me  - and I push all to work hard , they know by now nearly how my kitchen is organised (nearly) ;)

@Dasson: Hope you will come back at some time, will be hard for Talia to find two of her comrades gone.

Terra, just go on with the story and post for any of the elves if needed, meet Capher and Ta‘las

I am once agaon stuck on what to post, but as Capher and Ta'las seem to be arriving where we will meet in a post or two that may help by giving me a little more to work with.

BTW, How do we want to handle merging the two threads? I think a new chapter is likely the best idea, but then I am open to suggestions.

Terra I think a new chapter sounds fine.  But we should probably see if we can get an answer from Talia.

FYI- I may have to go into the hospital.  I am not sure when. I go for consultation today.  If I do not post at least once a day, except weekends, I never post during the weekends, rarely.

Then you can probably expect me to be in the hosp.

I know things are just moving again.  I don't expect to be in the hosp for more than a day or two at the most.  They have to implant something inside of me to administer my meds.

Anyway, I believe that Terra knows my character well enough to play him.  So I am giving permission for Terra to play him if I am gone.  Just so things don't get bogged down again.

We all know basically what is going to happen.  We meet in the meadow, Capher finde the flute, he has a vision of the fight, of Talia of those he knows and those he does not.  Then as soon as he comes out of his vision.  Terra ant Terri are there.  Terra recognizes Capher, calls him by name and though Capher is still a bit befuddled, he then takes that name as being his.  Conversation ensues between all of us: Ta'las's role, Terri"s...Terra trying to help Capher back to his old self.  Hopefully by then Talia will be back and so will I, if I am in the hospital.

Thanks for understanding.

Capher.

Capher, I hope everything goes well with your hospital visit, and you are able to join us sooner rather than later.  However, make sure you take care of yourself!

I believe we are quite close to the clearing now...

Have caught up with reading by now. Ta'las, I'm really pleased, how you play the Shendar (and his Aj). I haven't thought in detail, what this warriors way will be, but what you described sounds nice as initial rituals.

Btw, do you know the books of Castaneda about his appreticeship with Don Juan? This is the way of the warrior I want to describe one day...

And I'm glad you like the way Ta'las (and Rose) are written.  I have to admit I do not know the story of Castaneda and Don Juan well, other than to say that I have heard their names.  I can pick up some library books to do more reading as we go along.

Talas, at this point I have to wonder where you are heading? The place where the flute is and where the demon first appeared is outside the forest a good ways. I am pretty sure that is where we intended to meet, or at least that is where Terra intends to go.

Terra, since I do not know where the demon first appeared, I too am at a loss.  And since we can't check the records, because they are gone, how far away would you say you were from the forest when the demon first appeared and Talia lost her flute.

That answer will help both I and Ta'las out tremendously.

The way Talia described it it was a good ride by Aj. I think it was somewhere soon after the road crosses the river. It will be a large area of open scorced ground.

Hello again! :)

two notes:

Ta'las - no reins, Ajs don't accept any, you just lead them with your toes, weight  or with your voice

The place where the demon appeared in the fire and the sword protected Talia and Teri: Just look at the first map. The road crosses the river to Vezash, another one continues on the other side of the river, the side of the Quallian. Shati and Talia took the last for a short while and decided to take a rest. The clearing where they met Teri was not far away from the road. After the demon chased them away, the Aj has run for several hours (say four) at full speed till it reached the Quallian. I tzhink, it is a normal days ride away from the border of the Quallian for Terra and Teri.

@Talia, I read your post in the Quallian.  I have to admit that the color of ink of your post made it very difficult for me to read against that gray-blue background we have.

Yah, I have been meaning to say something about the font color as well. You should try to use a brighter nutral color so it can be easily seen on both light and dark backgrounds. I had to highlight the text to read it.

OK, next post I will make after this one I plan to have Terra and Teri stop over night in the forest near the border, though we will be stopping earier in the evening so Terra gets a good rest, and starting out again at first light.

Please let me know if this does not exactly work into the plans. Also as Talia stated it is about a days ride by horse from the border of the forest, they have likely been riding for a far time, and Terra is in no condition for such a long ride without a good rest stop.

Talia,

I had hoped you may have taken a peek at the Auditions thread, but since it seems you have not, though I guess there was little reason for you to, Abigail has posted an audition. I talked to Abigail in IRC, and told her that we are likely not excepting any new players, but that I would wait for you before I gave a definate yes or know.

I also think it might be a good idea to keep the auditions thread open so people can still audition for "Future Consideration" should we need more players in the future. I would like your thoughts, and I will edit the thread approprately to reflect this. In the mean time I will edit it to state that no spots are currently open.

Will have a look at it! thanks Terra!

edit:

I made a new list of what chars we have or expect:

Talia - female, human, adventurer with fighting skills
Terra - female, human, warrior
Teri -  female, elf/human, adventurer with fighting skills

Eden -  female, dwarf, priest
Khierra-char ??

Ta‘las - male, human, fighter
Capher - male, dragon, shapeshifter
Kenrill, male, hobbit, wanderer

Gararion-char?? male, dwarf, ???

With Dasson away, another elf would not be bad, so I would vote to take in  Faulse. However, he should not be played as a human... not that I know, how elves act, but most elven chars seem not to have many elven traits to me..

I don't think, that he can replace Koldar - the noble knight, I still would go for Morcanaan. I know him as a quite good roleplayer. What do you think?

We need desperately dwarves! Will gar do is char, or have we only Eden? A brownie guest char would be nice! could we ask in the gen forum for one?

I will see if I can contact Gar. As of late that seems difficualt, I used to have rather regular means of contacting him, but those seem to have faded.

Talia, do you think you could talk to Khiera and Abigail? You seem to have a much better idea about where and when you want characters to come into play. It just seems a lot easier for you to talk to them and set them up than me being the middle man. If we still need a replacement for Koldar we could definatly go with Morcanaan if you like. If its not possible for you to talke to them, let me know and I can try, but I would still need your ideas on In's for the characters.

As for a brownie guest I can open up the auditions specifically for that. Just let me know what you would like and I will do what I can.

I contacted Abigail already through ezboard mail and will talk to Khiera. Maybe we should wait with this brownie guest char till we can say, he can join in, say three weeks or so. If somebody has to wait too long he might loose interest.

If Abigail joins with Faulse - this could happen soon, for he could visit the Quallian, maybe he doesn't like the elves here and is glad to leave with us, or he is send to accompany us by the elder...

I would like rping with Morcanaan, but do we really need him? With Ta'las around?  It sounds weird, but I'm a bit afraid of having too many chars  in the future... He is similar to Ta'las, and human as well, though from Nybelmar.

Anyone know where Ta'las went?  If he does not post then the story cannot continue.

After reading your list of characters Talia, we have a lop-sided mix of women to men.  But, I suppose in the long run, that does not matter much.  And I do agree we do need some dwarven characters, especially after we are all together, and head for the Prominent Mountains or is it some other mountain range?  Anyway, we need at least one, maybe two more dwarven characters to help us through the mountains, the mazes, the traps, the enemies sent our way, as we search for the fabled "Kurik's Anvil"

I thought Gar had a dwarven character.  Or maybe I was wrong?

Gar has not had a lot of free time due to work as of late, but is hoping to have his dwarf posted this weekend. Luca, has a dwarf, Eden that is also planned to join in as well.

Good question Morcaanan.  I wish I could tell you.  Maybe you should wait until Talia gives you some input as to where you should come in.  However I do know, that the character you are to use, whatever one, Talia asked you to use, that characters CD should be put in the CD thread.

Do you remember what character you are to use?  Was it a dwarven character?

Capher.

Title: Re: Question.
Post by: Ta'lia of the Seven Jewels on July 22, 2005, 04:05:22 AM
Hey Morcanaan!

No, he is the best (human) knight to replace Koldar I can think of. If I remember the old CD right, and I think, I do, for what is left is the impression, not the details.

I will update the history soon. We are now in the Quallian, I am resting unconscious somewhere, Terra and Teri are about to meet Ta'las and Capher outside at the place, where the demon appeared in the fire and where my flute still lies around somewhere. I assume.
(You know, we have some magical artifacts which were produced before the rules and regulations set in ;)   )
Just look at the first thread, our plans are posted there.

So either you wait another two weeks(?) for joining and meet us outside the quallian - or you find a good reason, why the council invited you... then you may meet us all earlier.

Oh guys, get on! I'm tired of being unconscious and the Quallian elves don't appeal me much in the moment to post with them! I want to meet old friends!

Well, I am not the one holding things up ATM. I am just trying to keep us in sync with Capher and Talas so hopefully neither of auare waiting long for the other to make a key post. ;)

I to would like to get on with this, though I am kinda assuming we are a day behind as you stated its likely a days ride. I am going to have it so we leave camp at first light on the day that Capher and Talas are on now, and have Terra push the group hard and meet up with them as per Caphers plan. Being some time in the afternoon for them, I assume they should be arriving some time in the evening, and we will arrive shortly after.

We will see how things work out from there, but to all concurned we should likely try to make haste in all things, as we do want to get everyone together, and not hold up new character joins too long.

Ok, agreed. This post will find us taking lunch.  Terra and Terri that should give you the chance to wake up and push your horses along.

The next post I make we should be at the clearing where the fire demon showed and I am drawn to Talia's flute.  That is when, you, Terra and Terri should post in that thread.

After some discussion, we decide to go back to Talia and then we should probably start a new chapter?  Or we use the Quallian thread?

I vote for a new chapter myself.  But I defer to majority rule.

Well, starting a new chapter makes only sense, if we stay for longer in the Quallian, if you manage to wake me up fast..

Ok, let's start a new chapter called "Back in the Quallian!" or "Talia's recovery". I want a new chapter however, as soon as we leave the Quallian.

Abigail/Faulse is joining as well. Now we just have to think, how. As an elf he could already be in Aer'Yffherim (was that the name??), maybe even stumble about Talia.

Garrek has currently the sword and the heart, right? What about, if the elves of the Quallian hire Faulse and/or Morcanaan to retrieve the heart (they don't know of the sword, I assume. ) Just an idea.

I'm not sure, how we can get both back. Though Garrek will of course follow the group to get to know, what for properties the heart has...

AND, there is a brownie char under way who could be at least a guest char (see first thread - the brownies have connections to the dwarves!). I will comment soon and propose, that he visit the vale of the brownies, where we could meet him - if he is of use for us at all, just look at his char, his name is Rasperry Greenleave.

My own, small interjection into this is that Morcaanan may have had, at one point, an assocciation with these elves, and owes one of them a debt - being a person of balance, he would feel inclined to repay it (maybe said elf could be Faulse? Just pitching ideas).

I don't know, when you crossed the river, Capher, but that doesn't matter (Chylikis is on the same side as the Quallian). You are in the demon- clearing now Terra and her group will probably reach - tonight?
One thing which you might want to edit slightly , Ta'las, that is the look of the clearing. Only a few days have passed, since Terra came and took the sword and maybe a week or a bit more till the demon appeared.
Unfortunately *sigh* the post is gone - but it was quite a blaze the demon created and the sword had to hold back, so that Teri and Talia could flee. I would imagine, that there is a burned cirle around the old camp fire in the middle and some blackened trees around the clearing... don't you think so?

Capher, you can just continue on, and I can pupet the group to our meeting. ATM unless Teri posts I am more or less waiting for you.

I really don't have anything to post. Carry on. Sorry for just being dead weight...

:)   That's true Capher.  I am really enjoying the interaction between us.

Just a quick FYI - RL is going to take me away from home for a week starting on Wednesday.  I'm not sure I will have internet access while I am away, so I may not write again until the 10th of August.

Wow Ta'las that means tomorrow!!  Do you want me to just puppet you along until you come back?

I am not sure the rest, who have been waiting for so long, will be able to wait, but who knows, what do the rest of you say?

Capher, if you could puppet Ta'las, that would be great.

*sigh*

Darn ezboard! I thought I have written down the events till Aer'Yfferian, but it is not there.

Capher - Talia was not burned at this camp, but much later in the quallian - there I flew with Teri on my Aj and found shelter in the quallian. The demon however took over a firemage there, who first prevented its entering the forest - or at least he thought he had.

I wonder, how much can Lieofin "see" in Capher with his magic abilities?

Going to write the summary now.

Talia I am sorry I did not know.  I will edit my post, Ok?

Ok, Terra and everyone now that we are together, I suggest that the new chapter begins with me calling back out to Terra. I think Caphers Journey with Ta'las asking if I knew who that voice was, is a good ending to the chapter. What do we call the new chapter?

Ok, Now I am lost.  What is Reunion?  What should we call the next chapter?  Has that been decided?  Is Reunion going to be the next chapter?

Help, I cannot continue on until I find out.  Terra has found me, I have found her at least in the shadows.  Talia, Capher knows who he is.  The flute, the visions and when he sees Terra and finally you he will know a bit more.

Maybe I am getting ahead of myself and you.  So Talia, tell me what and where I should be.  I will edit my post accordingly.

Capher.
