Title: New Story by Erutan and Tom
Post by: Catchfire on July 20, 2003, 01:35:22 AM
I feel *extremely* bad for the thread drift incurred mainly by me in the now locked thread that was meant to promote a new story by Erutan and Tom.  I liked it, and I would like to participate once the kinks get worked out and if you can promise that it wwon't share the same fate as 'Stones of Sorren' ;)'s the skinny:

Title is still pending, but it may be close to `Survivors of the Maraud`

Anyways the story is as follows:

On a lovely morning, the Browniw Inn is filled with visitors and long time stays. Breakfeast is being served and not the slightest breeze could be heard.  Suddenly.....a violent wind stuck the Inn....frightening the customers. Then, distant cries could be heard.  Great shouting voices into the air. Then footsteps preceded. One of the visitors looks outside to see a stronghold of beings are standing at the top of a hill. The one named Erutan raised his sword and then the stronhold begins a raid on the town of milkengrad. Another orc (Mantrid) raised a flag and archers began shooting fired arrows.

Ruthless savages the beings are. Soon they came to the Inn.  They set fire to the Inn and the rest of the villige, while striking down anyone in there way. So many of these raider-orcs were around that the town could not fight back. Anyone of size at the Inn were taken as slave prisoners (these are the characters and role players)
The slaves were thrown onto a ship and there they waited...Until the pillage ended.

Soon the ship began moving to an unknown destination.  All went well until the most unexpected surprise happened. A hurracaine strikes the ship and vigorously tugs the ship around. The orcs on top of the ship are thrown off, leaving very few left. The slaves stayed under where they had the least bit of protection. Soon the hurracaine ended and the slaves decided to go up ship to see where they were.

The few orcs left were beaten to death by the prisoners. In the distant view, land could be seen. Hungry, and injured, the survivors decided to stop there and see what foods and aids they could discover...

With this the Brownie Inn shall be given a bit of history and hopefully a little action. Tell Erutan and Tom what you guys think.

So, I'm throwing my support behind this story, and if possible, would like to join!

Yeah, the thread never should have been locked.

Koldar should come here and check to see if orcs are actually allowed to do this. We might let a little bit of leverage with this just because I really think we need more stories going.

It's definitely something I should like to throw one of my characters in. We'll see.

I'm interested as well, it's a cool idea. However, no offense Tom, but I want to know whether or not you're going to be able to keep active this time? I don't want to join a to-be-dead story.

And I really only have one character I can use, and I know Rayne doesn't exactly like it when I use her so much. :p

Must think about it... *begins thinking*

Erutan and Mantrid are the bad guys?

I'd say if these raider orcs are orcs from the North Santharian/Ximax region (heck, I need to rewrite those Volkek Oshra though) it is possible. I take it you don't want to tell why they do it and where the survivors end up?

However as these guys would be outcast orcs it might seem logic that they have humans among them as well. It would cease some problems that there're indeed not many seafaring orcs. Don't know if that is a problem though.

I'm slightly confused about the attack though. Did the orcs attack Milkengrad or a village( where lies the Inn exactly?) 'cause Milkengrad is a heavily fortified town(as fortified as Voldar or Nyermersys). A direct attack would fail ( the red Alliance needed an army of a hundred thousand soldiers to do so)

Guess it mainly depends on why these orcs attack. Contact me if you want to keep it secret and we can work it out.

But tom would you be able to stay active.  A games Moderator should be able to log in at least once a day o post in the story, more if possible.

I wish to speak with both you Tom, and Koldar about this matter, though my computer has officially died. I am at a store right now, though I should be back at my original home computer in no more than 2 weeks. Sorry for the troubles. :)

I definitely would like to join as well, but I don't have a char for it yet and I don't have time to join before mid of september. Where are these prisoners thrown out,  on which shore! Could I join later with a santharian char? Or when does the story start?
