Adventures of Caelereth

As this is a small group of people involved in this story, it will have a limited number of players.  We are not going to place a number on it, as we will have to see the make up of the party before deciding when we have enough. 

If you wish to apply, please do so, by supplying the name of the character joining the story, as well, if needed, the name of another character you play that I might recognize.  If you wish, you can PM myself or Garret with that information, if you are like me, and like to keep your alias' hidden.

Unlike Frozen Darkness, not everyone who applies will be accepted.  We only have a limited number of spaces open, so might have to be choosy in who we take.  We apologise in advance.

As well, we will create threads before each Chapter, calling for specific guest characters.  These casting calls will be more narrow in scope, and if we can't fullfill these spots, NPC's fill be made for them, but we will prefer character driven roles.

Hello Altario and Garret! I was just wondering if there would be a niche that a wandering knight could fill. If it were to only be in a guest appearance, I would appreciate the opportunity.

Hello Altario and Garret, might there be a position open for an overly cautious Elven mage? I have not seen a request for a mage or healer, but I was hopeful that it could be added somewhere. It does not have to be permanent, a guest role would be great if that is what you need  :)

Well, I'm approved now and would be delighted to take a part in this story, whether small or large. Funnily, my first idea for Lili was to make her a pirate - but now she's ended up a landlubber, so unfortunately I can't fill that vacancy. Lili is jolly, can put up a good fight, but has bouts of an alternate personality during which she's a three-year old child in all but body shape.

I suppose my familiar would give it away anyway, but just to confirm: I'm also Fu and Shabakuk.

It is good to see a healthy interest in this story. :)

Amahad, and Mal, I'm going to try and find a guest spot for each of you.  Mal, it will prolly be with Tiras I think I would prefer.  But, we shall talk more about it.  Amahad, you have a great character, but I'm afraid that you'd crispy fry us as a villian. :P  I would like to discuss further with you how we can involve this character in a way that is believable and does not end our quest in a smouldering pile of ash.

Ok.  So not to keep anyone hanging, the mods and I have all been talking.  As Damien was the first to request a spot, we are going to accept him into the group.

Beyond this, our group is now fighter heavy, and our next full time member we would like to choose from a non fighter type.  To those that applied and have not yet been accepted, I invite you to be put on a waiting list.  Or conversely, I can try to find a guest appearance in upcoming chapters.

Edit:  Did you wanna start in Strata?  or in the TH?  Quicker to start in the TH, but more realistic to start in Strata.  Pretty big coincidence starting in TH.  But if you can come up with a reason, I welcome you.

Given that Smee is studying in Ximax at the moment it is infeasible to get to Strata any time soon. So I'm wondering if at any point you're expecting to be within 2-3 days travel of Ximax, in which case I might contrive a guest spot? Perhaps even leading into a later permanent spot if Smee gets a convenient excuse to be carried away from school for considerably longer (and you have room of course for a friendly 1 armed kid-mage ;) ).

No problems if not, I'm happy to explore this side of the disk anyway, but given this story is in its early days it's worth asking :)

Right, I realise I'm not approved yet and this is very hasty and rude of me, but if I manage to get this character finished and approval-worthy soon I would absolutely love to just be considered for this! This isn't my first character(I shall pm alt to reveal my main identity as the emails are different) and I think he would be more suitable for this kind of story than my main account. Plus, he'll add some testosterone. ;)

I realise I'm probably not as experienced as most players, so feel more than free to reject me.

Which reminds me: we had that other orc in the story, didn't we, the one with the bawdy songs. Conceivably, he may be silently watching  (cough, cough) and could break his silence and shout if he wants to continue? In any case, it might be worth sending him a PM? I'd do so myself, but I wonder whether our mods have thought of that already?

On another point, I vote that someone hides Lori in a saddle bag and that we take her along to wherever we go from Strata. It would break Lili's and  my heart to leave her behind.

Could you perhaps be able to indicate the frequency of posting you would be looking at from potential new people who apply to join the story?

If it is every day or every two days, then that would make it virtually impossible for me to be involved (due to my work situation and tiredness and planning involved around the edges of it). If posting say twice (and perhaps occasionally three times a week) to the story would be fine, then it would be more doable for me.

That sort of detail (posting frequency) would be of help to me, and might be of help to others, as I wouldn't want to apply for stories where I know the posting frequency is going to be beyond me and my availability.

For your information ... I work on my Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. My intention is to try to get my planning done for each week on the weekend of the week before, hopefully on the Saturday. That would put my posting on either a late Saturday or a Sunday and either Tuesday or Wednesday. Depending on how tired I am/awake I am, another day might be possibly, but don't count on that :)

I believe 2-3 times a week would be fine.. in truth, most stories go in spurts where some people manage to post 1 or even 2 posts a day fo a short period, then other times if 1 post a week or 2 is all that gets out we are lucky

The tap-tap-tapping of a stick can be heard getting closer to the recruitment desk. Along with the tapping, there is a regular stream of smoke rising. As the figure slowly makes his way to the desk, it is clear that the smoke is rising from a pipe being smoked by a small person ... a human child perhaps ... but then again, it could be ... a Hobbit. Chances are it's a hobbit due to the fact that the figure is smoking a pipe. In any case, he has a smile on his face, large, round red cheeks and a curly mop of hair on his head. His pipe goes out, and he looks at it with a sigh. Placing the pipe down on the table, he pats around his clothes, a look of sadness touching his features. Finally, he realises where he is, and removes his head and gives a small bow.

Looking up at the people behind the table, he says, "I've got a problem here. I was looking for someone who was needing a travelling companion. I was told to follow that line of people there and so i did. I'm here now. But now I've lost my pipe and I can't find any more pipe weed. Can you help? Oh, I'm looking for someone called Garnet, I think and someone else called Alter-I-O, I think that's who I was told I needed to speak to. I ... am quite forgetful, I'm sorry to say, but once I talk to someone I generally am able to keep their name to mind. I have a desire to know what's out there, and so I left the Shire and started travelling these lands. I am in need of my regular meals, but I am a good stout companion and I can tell you stories, and I can whittle things out of wood with my little whittling knife here. So, can I speak to err ... what did I say their names were again? I forget! And where is my pipe and pipeweed?"

He once again begins to pat around his clothes, with a frown once more touching his face.

Unseen by the chattering group milling about the dusty room, a lone, hooded figure sits at a table in a dark recess hidden by the chimney breast, silently watching. A flaggon of warg milch and a platter of sticky, writhing food sit untouched before him.

Eyeing the gaggle of excited individuals vying for the attentions of the tall Remusian, the figure pulls a sheaf of tatty parchment from the voluminous folds of a sleeve, licks his finger and turns the first page of Lori's "What I did on my holidays" diary.

I would like to offer Shai up for consideration. Even if you are not looking for a mage, for possible personality addition. She is my most updated CD and one which is mostly ready to play.

However, if you would allow a greatly incomplete character, I wouldn't mind bringing Kalina back into the scene either. Perhaps getting her back into the game will help rebuild her story again...

Lyth, frankly, reading all, or at least skimming about it,  would surely make your integration easier. You as the author will know where and how to jump in.

Of course your character doesn't know anything about us. So not reading what has happened might make roleplaying more realistic. On the other side - if your char would meet our chars in persona (in RL) , then so much more information would flow from us to you. This kind of information you could learn by reading the whole plot, which is not too long anyway. I hope I got across, what I meant. *is not sure*

I (well, not actually me, but my other character. It's confusing, just trust me!) was a part of this game from the start, and found it necessary to make an unexpected departure many months ago. I'm about to make my return (Thanks, Mods  :grin: ), and even though only a day and a half of game time has passed since I left, I'm re-reading the entire story before I decide just how to re-introduce myself.

Besides, you wouldn't start reading a book from half-way through, would you?

I'm looking forward to meeting you all, old friends/foes and new alike.

Well, seeing as I'm not in a story yet, I was wondering if I might join Destiny. Though as with SW IV, the desert is rather far from Marcogg, so I'd probably have to figure out why and how I got there.
