Title: Ximax OOC
Post by: Ta'lia of the Seven Jewels on October 15, 2009, 05:24:42 AM
Let's have a new start!

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Capher on October 16, 2009, 01:38:28 AM
Ok, close the other OOC thread.

@Talia, would you mind choosing another color than gray. I am sorry but I cannot read it at all unless I press my nose to the computer screen. :(

Whenever you wish to have Capher appear just say so and I will post.

The Anvil is with the Kurikim Dwarves as they are the best metal smiths of all dwarven clans and their forebearers buitl the Imlith Bridge of old, and other things during the time of the myths and only Roosjie can lead us to their special gate to their caverns located somewhere near the mouth of the liquidor river,(forgive my spelling) once of course we find out that is who have the Anvil.

I know the Zurghurim dwarfs built Ximax, but I am trying to understand how they can help us? I think that in the library there is hidden, probably magically, a very very old tome that tells not only of where Tris's armory is, but also where Kurik's Anvil is as well.

That is what I am thinking anyway...if there are anyother ideas out there or if I am missing something, or jumping the gun(an American slang expression) which is usual for me, then tell me.  ;)

Well... Ximax being a scholorly (sp? even a word?) city, surely there are liberaries that that are not hidden or closed and perhaps clues can be found in seemingly "harmless" books? Perhaps books that are deemed "harmless" as they paint the armoury of Tris to be no more than a myth, and perhaps not even mention it by name.

That could be one way to go Terra. What do the others think?

Title: Re: Ximax OOC

I hope I remember not to use grey, Capher, I'll try to.
And I think, once the days here are done (whatever the others have in mind), we just write, that you are standing on the doorsill, maybe when we just have gathered for dinner. Then we have an evening together where we could puzzle out the poem, as far as we can.

Well, do you not want to go to the Zhirghurim dwarves? I thought it would be cool to go there, for they are so well developed. Therefor the Thentrum Clan dwarves sent us there to look for information on the whereabouts of the anvil. Why do we want to find it now in a library of Ximax? Not that we would try search for it.

What I don't understand at all is, why suddenly Roosje is the one who should know, where the anvil is. That was not said when she left the vale with us, nor is it reasonable when I look at her youth, her history. How should such a tiny southern brownie know about the entrance of the caves?? I doubt that here travels carried her farther than Northern Santharia.

Was not the whole goal of the story to go from one place to the next, to piece together where the anvil could be, to find a little more information with every place we visit? To find out step after step, what the stanzas of the poems might tell us?

I think as well, that Roosje should play a bigger part in the near future, but giving her that knowledge about the whereabout of the anvil will not solve the problem.

So, the question I have is now - do you all now want to go straight to the Prominent Mountains and skip the Zhirgurhim and the other place (well developed) which I had in mind before heading towards the north?

Btw, where is the Heart, did not Teri have it? And we still need to have find the sword first. (It is not my sword, though I mentioned it in the poem also! My sword has different qualities)

Another issue: New Characters:

We have:

Capher (mighty wizard), dragon in human form, male

Ta'las, human, male, fighter, guide

Terra, human, female, fighter

Ta'lia, human, female, adventure (fighter)

Roosje, brownie, female, messenger

We need:

Something opposite.

A magic user, a cleric?

Somebody "innocent!" , would be quite contrary to us!  (poem)

A comical relieve, as Terra pointed out ;)

Other races would be fine, but are not as important as what the character represents.

Three new ones, max four, depends on whom we would get.

We can always invite a guest char, e.g. somebody who knows the entrance to the cavern (could be a northern char, or a dwarf)

Should we do an open invitation as we did once? With a task? E.G the char has to find a reason to join us, or a way, even if the group would not need him/her? (E:G running behind us)

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Terra Artemos on October 17, 2009, 05:05:01 AM
Well if Caphers healing is to take several days perhaps Ta'las and Terras search in the liberaries could be friutless or turn up little of emediate use before Caphers return. Caphers return to the group could then either directly or indirectly hearld an encouter with the Zhirghurim who could give us some information we need, perhaps if any pieces were gained by Ta'las and Terra these could fall into place perhaps pointing us to one or more places to find the rest of what we need. Maybe Capher may wish to go with them on their next visit to the liberaries to see what more they could find with his guidence before we have to move on?

Sorry, just rammbling ideas.

I think if Ta'las would like to action his idea of looking for information in the liberaries at the very least it could serve to bond Ta'las and Terra closer, making them more foritable in coming battles.

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Capher on October 17, 2009, 09:35:01 AM
Talia as usual you are right. We should be going to place to place, person to person, find bits and pieces of information and then go forward from there, ending up at the Anvil's resting place once we find the Sword of Fury and get back the Heart, which by the way was left with the dwarves by the Vale.

I like Terra's idea a lot!

As far as other characters. I think we should open the Heart up but tell any that wants to join that they have fit certain characteristics that we should define before hand and then if they can do that tell us why, where and what their character would bring to the story.

I am really in a quandry over all of this for some reason. It is like my brain shut down and I cannot think. I believe I know the reason and I need to deal with it on my own.  So giving me a few days before I show up will be good.

Hi everyone,

I'll take my turn to wade into things here.

1. According to what is written, it was never explicitly stated that Morcaanan gave the Heart to Teri.  If the Heart is with the Tenthrum, perhaps their Gornegron could have sent my female dwarf 'seeker' (the NPC Brenna) to meet us at the Halls of the Zirgurim with it.  I do think we should go there - it looks like it would be another fun setting to write in.

2. The library thing was just an idea I've had since the Elven Circle.  Leiofin mentioned that the Sword of Fury was in the armoury of Tris, whose location is now no longer unknown.  Ta'las suggested it as an aside, thinking that a great city of knowledge like Ximax might have some clues.  I agree with Terra that the search could simply be a way to bond the two together more closely, and at most provide some vague clues, but nothing concrete.

3. I agree we could use some new characters.  A cleric or wizard would be neat - and easy to find in Ximax.  Maybe a historian or a merchant - could be anything.   The folks mentioned by PM could be invited if we're all in agreement.  If that fails, then I agree with am 'open invitation' along with some parameters that make sense for how and why someone would encounter and join up with us.

Well I will likely be able to devote a little more time to here for a little while, though this is bitter sweet in that I have been laid-off. I an not in fear though. I have been watching the jobs feed out of Future Shop and Best Buy and they are hiring all across Canada, this seems a good sign. Starbucks also seems to be committing to opening new locations all over the place now, even in locations they pulled out of 3 or 4 months ago. Worse case scenario I load up my laptop with software tools and start my own tech business. All the while I have the love and support of my girlfriend who is really an amazing woman, she is there for me when I need her. Even my friends in SL offer their support.

Hopefully you will get a good job soon, Terra!

I'll be away till Monday, then you will get an email from me and we start to get this going again, will we?

I am ready reappear at anytime. But is not Terra and Ta'las going to the library first? Or am I wrong? And what about Roosjie and you Talia, what are you two going to be doing?

Title: Re: Ximax OOC

I am leaving if we go to the library or not up to Ta'las as it's on his and/or his characters mind. I am ready whenever we are ready to progress.

Heh, sorry guys.

I was so caught up in our conversation about what to do next, I didn't realise I was holding us up.  I'll restart things.

Title: Re: Ximax OOC

Ta'las, Capher, have you got my mail concerning new players? Or have I missed your answer? So far I got only an opinion from Irid and Terra.

Ta'las, your concern about not being able to read is nicely described. Didn't think of that!

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Terra Artemos on October 29, 2009, 11:44:57 PM
I hate to admit I can not recall if Terra ever revealed her inability to read, or rather her separation from it, though I am not sure she ever had reason to.

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Ta'lia of the Seven Jewels on October 29, 2009, 11:59:36 PM
Oh, that might be an interesting dialog, when you  find out, that you both cannot read!

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Terra Artemos on October 30, 2009, 12:36:59 AM
Terra could after a fashion. She could associate a spoken word with it's written counterpart within a context the spoken word was given, say the name of an inn or street sign, and even though the spoken word has meaning to her she could not retain that meaning of the written word, or would recognise that word within a separate context. Many of these these functions were port of her mind that had been torn apart. Though it is possible it could slowly return now that the brownies have healed her mind, perhaps she can associate a few scattered words with meaning at first, if that should manifest at all it may or may not in the trip(s) to the library.

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Damien Scar on November 06, 2009, 03:01:00 AM
Talia and others when do you want Capher to reappear? After Ta'las and Terra go to the library or before? And do not forget about Roosjie. Perhaps, she can read Tharian, or maybe a clue could be in an old brownin scroll, written by the father of all of the brownies, I forget his name at the moment, but that could be used as an idea.

Or bring Talia along or both and some old Shendar scroll gives a clue to look for the brownin scroll and there you find a small clue to go see the Zhirghurim dwarves.

These are just ideas of course...ooops forgot to change, sorry. This is Capher in case no one knew.

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Ta'lia of the Seven Jewels on November 09, 2009, 03:19:25 AM
Well, Capher, you could join us at breakfast, but then you have been only for one night in the academy and near/above the orb.
I don't see, where the problem with the Zirgurhim lies, we do know, that we have to go there, the dwarves we have met told us to go there to get more information. The library is just another chance to find something.

Could be a nice episode, Terra and Ta'las going there , only to find out, that both cannot read!
I don't know by heart, if Roosje can read, would have to look it up. Talia knows how to read, for she is working for the compendium ;)

Btw, any of you got my mail?

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Terra Artemos on November 09, 2009, 05:07:03 AM
I do believe I have replied already unless you have sent a new one. As for Capher returning to the group, I do have to agree with Talia. Maybe Capher can not be "Healed" all at once by the orb, but in stages much like what Talia and Terra went through. Only as Caphers weakness is more physical then spiritual he is allowed to return to us after stage, but must return each night for another stage of healing.

At least one sentence out of all the ones I write is good...  Thanks Talia.

Um Talia, perhaps I did not make it clear enough in my post that Capher has a human face but the rest of his reptillian form is still hidden under his cloak, so when you hugged me you should have felt his wing stubs and backbone.  But no need to change your post if you do not want to, I will just assume that you were so excited by seeing me that you did not notice.

Hi everyone,

Sorry I haven't been responding to everything going on in the inn, since arriving for breakfast.  I've been travelling and internet access was patchy.  I will post right away.

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Capher on November 23, 2009, 01:43:19 AM
Hi Ta'las; Traveling? on buisness or pleasure or a little bit of both?  I read your post and you did not even mention any of my ideas and why would you tell Roosjie and not Terra that I was not completely healed? Not that I care, just curious? I would think if Ta'las has doubts he would tell the one he loves first and then tell Roosjie.

With your patchy internet service I do not expect an answer right away, or probably there is no answer, it is just as it is.

Anyway it was a good post.

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Terra Artemos on November 23, 2009, 04:32:32 AM
Well, if I may clear that issue up in my post, such a thing need not be spoken as such in words between Ta'las and Terra. They have after all become quite close and have become accustomed to each others gaze and touch, they likely would be able to convay their concern without words in this way, though perhaps not in quite so much detail as Ta'las spoke to Roosje.

Capher, seems I misunderstood you

Quote
Capher was no more draconian in sight but human, even his robe was plain as was his cane.

I thought your were fully restored to your old human form, not just what looked out of the cloak. We just leave it, doesn't matter.

Sorry for taking so long to post, have made several attempts but till now RL had other plans for me. Hope I got caught up well, as I tried to bridge a good number of posts with my one. Please let me know if I confused anything.

Thanks from this end as well.

Don't have time to change over to my other account as I'm at an internet place. I currently don't have internet at my mom's house though that should change within the week. I'll try to check in in a couple days again to see if around what I can do to stay on top of things here.

I apologize for any problems this causes.

Welcome!

Basically yes, Drustai, but let us plot a bit before that.

I'm proposing now to switch with one post to the next morning, because right now we are already on our way out, so we have more time to integrate you all during that breakfast.

Old team, is that ok?

I'll write more later, have to check something.

Is everybody ok with us moving a day further? Who writes it out? (Whoever is online first!)

BTW Talia, don't you think it would be wise to take down the invitation request on the main board?

Title: Re: Ximax OOC

Yes, of course - we need to ask Altario or Kalina!

Capher, your post was great! We could talk again about our goals...

We need to do some plotting. I have to reread Drustai's proposal. Sondirra could post, however, I have reacted already to her post, so she needs a new one.

I'm too tired, will come back tomorrow.

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Ta'lia of the Seven Jewels on December 03, 2009, 07:10:58 PM
Ok, allow me to pour out some ideas.
There should be a bit of informational talk between the old members first, something about what to do next, where to look in the library today etc..

I would propose, that we are not yet interested in a true communication with any of our new members. So..

Sondirra, I‘m afraid I have mentioned you already, so you need to write a new post. Why don‘t you intentionally, because you are curious, sit a bit closer to us, take the next table or so. Talia will recognise you, and at the end of breakfast I could show you my aj‘nuvic. I think as we have no reason to take us with us, you need just to follow us where ever we go and be a pest. In the library, to the dwarves. Maybe later something happens to you and we need to kinda rescue you, or you rescue one of us (Roosje?) and finally we agree, that you can come with us. I need to do an extra stanza, and maybe the group realises, that this is your stanza.

Gavril, no idea, how to incorporate you! Any ideas? You can of course bump into us and come to our table as you wrote your post, but afterwards? Maybe we need to do it similar like with Sondirra, just that this time YOU think, that you belong to us and follow us as well, somehow. Maybe Sondirra can use this and travel partly with you. BUT, we should not really have two groups, but meet often in between, and if only ‘involuntarily‘.
Drustai, I‘ll think you should come after Gavril, after we have thrown him out for not belonging to us. Your case is a bit different. I think Capher will fear, that you will be an agent of the evil side and not want to deal with you, on the other side, you are saying, you have info about Tak‘Tinal. (Do we need that?) So the group will be torn between taking you and sending you away. Maybe we send you away at first, then you can steal your tomes, get imprisoned, but as we think you might have vital information, Capher with his renewed forces might be able to persuade the authorities to set you free. And then you come with us (for Capher has promised to keep an eye on you).
I would equally love though, that you free yourself and follow us, for you think now, that we have infos. Could be a nice play.

Maybe we should allow the story to develop a bit as well, maybe new aspects arise which are even more fun!

Title: Re: Ximax OOC

That is a lot to think about and plan Talia. Should we not be doing this in the secret forum instead of out in the open? Or am I being paranoid?  I think some emails between us mods with more detail to work on for each new character would be appropriate.

Where is this proposal of Drustai's that I keep on hearing about but have never read? Why would Capher want to protect her? That is news to me.

Anyway I am going to email or discuss this more on the secret board.

Title: Re: Ximax OOC

As posted by Drustai in the Invitation thread:

Quote
Reason: Drustai is already planning on traveling north to research the Keep of Tak’dinal (among other areas in North Sarvonia) at this point in time in her history. This gives a clear tie between her and the TBH group. While Drustai is normally a loner, she would have enough reason to travel with the group that that shouldn’t be a problem.

Though Drustai will be denied access to the Academy, she will attempt to steal some tombs from the library for her research. It is possible that she finds out some information on the Sword of Fury, or perhaps just some general knowledge of Tak’dinal that the group would need, through this theft. Alternatively, the group finds out information that she needs, and after she escapes from the Ximax prison (as she is caught), she would track the group for what they know, and end up sticking around in their journey north.

I don't have reason to join up with the group immediately at the tavern however, as neither party has any reason yet to walk up and talk to the other.

Has the story stalled again? Is it the following morning? Actually I was hoping that during the evening you could all discuss some of the information that you discovered in the library; IE, Terra's heritage for one. The Shendar's and perhaps an old tale of a Shendar family finding a young girl in the Rahaz. (could be real or fantasy, up to you Talia) Roosjie finding out that the Brownies were part of the Tree of Life and came forth from that tree just like the dragons when Coor split it in two. There would be much to say or perhaps much to just think about silently. I guess it is up to you all.

Sorry for not changing into Capher, but I got lazy.

Think I will post that in not so many words Capher. I am sure the others are likely getting caught up with family or last minute cleaning for family visits, etc at this time of year. I am not surprised posting is slow.

And back again with worse news. I won't have internet really until I get back to Vegass in January except for the hour every other day or so. I'll be back in Vegas hopefully between the 2nd and the 5th. I wasn't warned until I'd pretty much reached my moms that they didn't have internet. Sorry again.

I' sorry I have not been here the last days, Ximax kept me so busy and the promissed email could not be send, for something did not work out.

And I have a request:  Could we stop the story till the beginning of January? I will be busy the next days, as you can imagine, and then we leave for my parents for some days over Christmas (no internet ;) ), after that when we are back I will have visitors (Carlos! :) ) over  silvester and the New Year. After that I will have much more time again. The story has not yet fully started, our new ones are not yet integrated.

They will get an email with some information :)

As for myself, I had no expectations that we would get far over the holidays. It's a time when we are all planning to spend time with friends and family. Some likely also have to deal with the commercial evil of the season as well.

At any rate I hope all a wonderful time with their friends and family. May all the rewards of the season not be material.

I'm here, was hoping Ta'las would have posted by now. Will give Ta'las another day before Terra pulls his arm off to see what news this young mage brings of our friend. ;)

Edit:

Just read you posts! Sondirra, I wanted to tell you earlier, that I really loved that misunderstanding!

Quote

I'm here. :)  I just did not want to look like I was taking over.  I've posted a few more times than the others have had a chance to do.  But, just say the word and poor Sondirra will nearly pee her pants at the magic displayed. :P

Glad you liked it, Talia.  I was hoping to get to call Talas Ahj Nivic and really get herself embarrassed.

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Ta'lia of the Seven Jewels on January 22, 2010, 05:38:23 AM
Capher, could you please not just take that paragraph out? I mean, she did not say Aj'Nuvic, but Ai Nivic, you can't be sure, that she is speaking of Talia, or not? Well, even if you know it, would be more fun otherwise.

And then I have a problem with that table enlarging. I think, that there is probably not enough room anyway, for why should in the middle of the room be so much space, but beside this - that the waitress does not check that the table is now bigger, nor the other guests - I don't believe that. Let us play a bit more realistically, please.

Why don't you just invite Sondirra to our table? and as there is no free one, maybe you can "persuade" some people to leave? Not with visible force though...

I will wait with posting, until you have decided, if you want to change anything or not. Above that is just a proposal of course ! :)

And we need to do some plotting! Go and post, people, in the right place

Title: Re: Ximax OOC

I have been thinking about my last post Talia and I agree with you. I will edit my post accordingly.

The new post will have to have responses from all of you, including you Sondirra. Gavril you can start to become a pest as well or wait until we are out on the street and pester us as we walk to the library and perhaps even in the library as well.

BTW I have been posting and asking questions but no responses have I received at that special place. ;) At least so far and I check every day.

Talia, special place not working for me anymore. Something about "looping and aborting"

I thought I had a look there yesterday and nobody had responded yet. I see, what I can do with your.. aborting??

Will come back later - a Saturday morning is not a good time to be here..

Edit: Capher, I found nothing wrong with the site. Could you PM me the original words?

Just a question - should we wait with integrating Gavril until Sondirra has settled in? And with whom to deal with first? ---> Discussion elsewhere?

Title: Re: Ximax OOC

I have not checked the other board yet (it is quite laggy and slow for me while I'm stuck at home on dialup), so I don't know if this has been discussed more, but...

Would you prefer me to go ahead with my idea that I had mentioned in my application post? About doing some essentially solo RP for now and then later on the group meets myself at the prison? Or would you prefer me to simply go with the application post I wrote?

Just wondering when and how I should start posting.

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Ta'lia of the Seven Jewels on January 24, 2010, 07:20:20 AM
I would prefer a mixture of both. The question is - shall we discuss all this openly? I think, that takes a bit the fun away. We could do some messaging between Capher, you and me, if our board is inconvenient for you right now. (For how long?)

Well, I think we should give Sondirra some time first to get into the story, then you or Gavril.

So let us start breakfast first, and think about what do then afterwards.

Capher, thanks for editing your post!

But don't expect people to recognise you!

Don't kow, if I get around to do a post now..

I can check it, I just don't do it frequently because of how long it takes to load for me.

But if there's stuff being discussed there I can go check it.

Title: Re: Ximax OOC

Capher, I didn't want to talk you out of any use of your magical abilities, sorry for that. I just wanted it to be a bit more reasonable. So enlarging the back table slightly would have been ok for me - that would not have drawn too much attention. (you didn't want the attention of the whole inn, right?)

Now I will be as embarrassed as you, Sondirra, or even more...

Capher, I think you don't know, what problems your shiny new youth will provide for Talia... dark red hair, no wrinkles, smooth skin... ahhh. She might well careen (?) between the adoration of that beautiful man and the old Capher she misses. Are you aware, that you replaced a father figure with a potential lover? Oh, this poor woman and her tossed around emotions.  :rolling:

;)That's what I do best Talia.  Your the one who wrote the poem, I just interpreted it... :D

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Terra Artemos on January 26, 2010, 01:13:07 PM
Well I don't see why we couldn't just to toss possible random plot ideas out. No planning, just what ifs and maybe we coulds that either come to pass or don't depending on the flow of the story when we reach that point. Sort of like I have been doing from time to time. Even I have a rather dark "What if, where is it written that, maybe it is that" floating around in my head for much closer to the end of the story.

Hey Terra, how is your SR doing? Do you have it finished yet?  Anyway I am up later than usual because of pain. I had just thought that a little light reading might help, but I should know better than to think that Santharia will have light reading... ;)

I will post tomorrow when I have had a chance to think about my reply and what direction I want it to go.

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Ta'lia of the Seven Jewels on January 26, 2010, 06:50:50 PM
Of course we can use our childboard, but as Drustai didn't have access to it (yet), I wrote a PM.

Would it be an option to open the childboard for all? For I think it is nice to have some ideas of future happenings hidden from the community , who might read or might not. Surprise, surprise ;)

I think we all know, why we didn't use the childboard for our discussions about new applications anymore.

Terra, I don't want to do a very through planning, but I think we do need some ideas how to progress to not drift too far away from our rough plan. If somebody has a cool idea, some twists and alterations are always welcome. But now we need to know how to intergrate the new members, we need reasons, otherwise it is not really satisfying.
And, e.g. I would love to play out the scene with Capher, Talia not knowing him and Sondirra realising that Ainivik is no man before Drustai steps in or before Gavril makes his presence known, for I fear, it will not work with such distractions.

We still need an idea, why we should take Gavril along. Or how he can be integrated.

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Terra Artemos on January 27, 2010, 12:59:27 AM
Capher, not sure what SR you are referring to, but if you mean the website, yes, it's up and published. It will of course still receive some tweaks and changes as time goes on, grammar typos and the like that were missed are found and corrected. Of course we are looking forward to adding more pictures to the photo gallery we missed getting a few of a great crowd we had last Sunday. If you want to take a look the URL is http://themoodydragon.weebly.com (http://themoodydragon.weebly.com). Still a lot of work in Second Life to get more people there. Takes up alot of my time between job searching.

Well Talia, will try to hold Terra off from noticing it is Capher for a while, but some one is going to have to distract her from all his Capherisms. ;)

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Capher on January 27, 2010, 04:11:24 AM
Oh, it is called Second Life, I was referring it to Second Reality...sorry. Thanks for the website.

Do not worry about Talia. Capher will tell her himself who he is. The question is how does Terra know or Ta'las even? or even Roosjie, I suppose the only one who would really know would be Inuya, for she can smell him.  But it won't matter, by next post will clear it up, at least for Talia. Unless you posted Terra and I have not read it yet.

Capher in case you are wondering, Terra has been observing you for some time, ever since she recognized your cloths. Remember she is very observant, if a little more distracted these days. ;)

Nah, Talia, you seem to have a busy enough life as it is without adding another virtual addiction to it.

Will surely get more pictures and maybe one of those Virtual Tour things done in time.

I am currently considering a bit of restructuring if people plain out refuse to move away from the door on their own at the next big event. I am starting to think that the club may be too shallow. Will have to see as it will effect other elements as well, so I have to be sure I have significant justification before disturbing them. Especially considering additional prim cost (Prims being the virtual building blocks of SL and are limited by land size.) as well. Running a club is not so easy as just putting up a structure, one has to be ever ready to make changes and make things better.

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Damien Scar on February 04, 2010, 02:50:17 AM
Roosjie your post is just fine and so was the order. It is all taking place at a rapid pace anyway, so things are about to get a little out of control until we all sit down and start eating and talking about what we are going to do with the rest of the day as well as Capher's plans with Sondirra and I am sure some objections as well to that plan. ;)

I look forward to that virtual tour Terra.

Uh, Terra why would you still think of me as a father figure, when I look now about your age or perhaps younger? Just a question that popped into my head as I read your post.

Sondirra, I was hoping to magically get rid of the ink on your fingers and lips, but you took care of it very well. Or perhaps if you had wiped it on Capher's cloak it would have disappeared. Oh well, life goes on, as they say.

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Terra Artemos on February 04, 2010, 03:46:51 AM
Well, the form you have now is not your "TRUE" form is it, or the form of your true age. Appearance does not change ones mind, knowledge or heart. To Terra if you of course prove yourself definitively with the words of your mind, you are who you have always been, and will always be no matter the form you take. You could take the form of a 6 year old girl and she would feel the same as who you are does not change with your form, am I not right?

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Ta'lia of the Seven Jewels on February 04, 2010, 07:02:05 PM
Yeah, but it easier to fall in love, well, in a kind of different love (chemistry working) , if the appearance helps! It is difficult to see the old shapeshifter behind the new appearance, don't you think so? If your eyes betray you, you will start to think. A Capher in the form of a young girl would definitely lead to a great confusion, even if he would act like his old self, don't you think so? You will start to love this child as you loved the old man, but there will be a time of transgression, where your feelings are confused...

Well, I fear Talia will have some problems now. ;)

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Terra Artemos on February 05, 2010, 12:47:22 AM
Well for Terra I don't think falling into any form of romantic love with Capher will be an issue. ;) She has in her heart and mind pledged herself and her life to Ta'las. Don't worry Talia, Unless Sondirra decides in all her innocence to make a play for Capher you will have no competition form Terra. ;) Have all the "Problems" you like... Though I guess it would be a little confusing/weird if Talia who Terra has come to think of as her big sister becomes romantically involved with the man Terra holds dear as a father figure.

Title: Re: Ximax OOC

Sorry if I confused you Roosje.  I was trying to post that Sondirra was trying to pay attention to everything at once, and did not mean to muddle it up.  I agree that nothing needs to be changed. :D

BTW Capher, Sondirra has only wiped away the wet excess ink.  There are still stains on both her lips and fingers.  That will require hard scrubbing do get rid of.  Or magic. :)

Title: Re: Ximax OOC

I thought about both of your ideas about Capher, Talia and Terra, and I can see both points of view could come into play and be played upon. So I look forward to the interracton between all of us, besides Capher knows that Terra's heart belongs to Ta'las. BTW where is he?

Sondirra, thanks for information...get ready! :D However it will have to wait until tomorrow, for I am not feeling well today. I probably should not even be here at all, but I just cannot denly Santharia's call...

Also, I am now apparently moderator here, so I accidentally modified your post instead of quoting it. Just in case you were wondering why it says I modified your post ;)

I hope my last post was not too over the top. If Talia needed distraction she got some, and probably took the romance right out of her head, at least for awhile, since she does not care for such displays of magic. But who knows, right!

Also if Dru and Gavril are in the inn it would interest them as well and make Dru even more interested in our conversation(s) don't you think? As well as Gavril, could use the moment to make people laugh and forget the whole incident happened.

Those are just some thoughts, nothing concrete or set in stone.

Still not feeling the best, but better, thanks.

Capher.

I still need to get my first post in. <.<

Dru would certainly notice and be intrigued--for Capher is using raw magic, not Ximaxian, and that would certainly pique her interest.

I'll try and get my first post up soon. That gives a good starting point for me.

Oh no, Capher, it is just that I had caught a flue again and a terrible head on Sunday and Monday (filled with some kind of mash) and now my little sweatheart is here, so I have not much time to write anything during the day. I will be occupied/away the whole next week also, we have holidays, (Fasching! --> Bavarian name for carneval) will see my parents..  Maybe tomorrow evening, when Carlos is asleep, I'll get some stuff done.

@Talia, get better and have a great holiday.

@Roosjie and Sondirra- great posts, both of you. Roosjie have not seen a post like that from you in a long time, keep the inspiration up both of you.

I wonder where Ta'las has gone off too myself. RL must be really pulling at him.

No problem Sondirra...it seems that we have gone into some sort of lull here. Why, I do not know. But things will change, they always do. It is probably why this is the longest running story here in Caelereth.

Again sorry. Going to be holding off on Gavril for a tiny bit longer. Was going to try and post this last weekend, but injured myself and it's fairly frustrating attempting to type more then short little sentences and such and distracted by lack of sleep/pain.

If yall need to find a replacement character for the comical role due to the fact that it's taking me so long, I understand. I'd like to get the chance to play this character, but understand if yall need to keep things moving. :)

I'm back from my parents and 70cm (two feet +) of snow throughout the landscape (and huge piles around the streets and pathways),  I'm sorry for not being able to post, but slight health problems and a young energetic boy of five around is just too much for me. Today we were sledging..  I'm going to bed with him at about nine o'clock and need that. Normally I'm online all evening up to 12 and later. Next week all will be back to normal.. please puppet me if necessary!

Hi everyone - sorry for the long, unexplained absence.  I've been quite sick the last couple of weeks and not able to do much but rest.  I'm back now and caught up.  I think, given Capher's recent change, it should be easy to explain Ta'las' silence.

Good to see you back my friend, Ta'las. I am sorry you were so sick, but am happy that you seem to be on the mend.

I will post replies to all sometime this week, if not today or tomorrow. RL is causing me some problems I need to take care of.

Gavril, perhaps your post could stop this unprovoked attack by this unknown man and calm everyone down in the inn.

Dru, still waiting for a post from you.

Glad to hear that Talia. I was becoming a bit worried. I hope you and yours are fine, still praying for your mother and father and all of you.

I am having a writing block for some reason. Perhaps Ta'las and Terra you just lead me back to the inn and perhaps by the time we all sit down to finally eat breakfast my muse will come back.

Sondirra, thank you for still being with us.

Roosjie, I have not forgotten about you and I promise you will get your bow.

Gavril, anytime now.

Dru, same for you as well.

Capher, I don't know, if I can post today. Even if I have had the time, my mind is occupied with the service tonight (world women prayer day - do you know it as well?) and I just can't focus on a decent reaction to your post. This one needs some thought.

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Gavril 'Whitebeard' Baird on March 09, 2010, 07:21:13 AM
I do apologize that it took me so long to post. The last couple days I kept meaning too, but been a little outta it and kinda hectic at the same time. I used about half of my application post for Gavril (because I found it highly amusing myself and thought I'd take advantage of having it) and then hopefully the new bit is just as entertaining.

I didn't mentioned the two returning members of the group because they had yet to mention returning to seats and I didn't want to take any chances, plus, had the returned after he'd sat down, he'd have likely ignored them anyways until they got his attention.

Hope this is acceptable. Let me know if I need to change anything :)

Title: Re: Ximax OOC

Finally got my post up as well. My time has been a bit hectic lately, so I felt it best to stay out of the story so as to not delay things. Plus I wasn't sure how to write up my entry until Capher posted that magic trick, then it was all about getting something written up. Used the first half of my application post and added a second half that's just as if not longer. Whew. /wipesbrow

I'm taking the chance Gavril didn't and approaching Ta'las and Terra, since Gav's struck up a convo with Sondirra (and Roosje by proxy). :)

Title: Re: Ximax OOC

Wow, what posts, Gavril and Drustai! I am not sure about the others being puppeted like that, but both of your posts, at least to me, fit seamlessly into the story. Perhaps with Gavril and Drustai now in the picture it will give Ta'las, Terra, and certainly Roosjie and Sondirra something to do while we wait on Talia's response to Capher in the stables.

Gavril you made me laugh; reminded me of the three stooges, or Charlie Chaplin.

Drustai, reading your posts in Destiny gave me an idea of how well a writer you were and I was not disappointed when reading this one. Your flair for description, along with thoughts, and expressions are something I strive to do, but fall far short of yours.

We now have I believe a full range of characters that can compliment and also cause distrust between each other.

Our journey should be interesting...indeed!

Ups, did I need so long with writing this up, that Drustai posted meanwhile?

Your welcome Drustai.

Well Talia and the others what do you all think of the little twist I put in?

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Ta'lia of the Seven Jewels on March 12, 2010, 07:06:39 AM
*smiles while reading the post*

Capher!

Well, I fear it will not work out, though I must say, a splendid idea!

I'm not against it entirely, but here are some problems:

- Talia would not have withheld this from her friends, Terra might have noticed also.

- Koldar is too long gone, you actually feel quite well, when you are so far in the pregnancy (forth month up), must have been an affair in the Quallian.. or how long we are on the way now, when did he leave?

- What should we do with a pregnant woman, or a child? Talia would have to leave the group. And no, I will not miscarry...

But it is fine, if Capher thinks that or a while and observes Talia...

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Capher on March 13, 2010, 02:35:24 AM
Actually Talia, it is just Capher's misunderstanding and would not cause any problems for the group, except Capher until he realized that he made an error in judgement...again! :undecided:

And I think it could be humorous as Capher acts like an expectant father...not knowing what to do or say.

Busy at work + buying a house and working in it = not a lot of posts from Roosje. I'll see what I can do but it might be a while yet before life is settled back down enough for a decent post.

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Ta'lia of the Seven Jewels on March 17, 2010, 09:24:52 PM
I'm sorry, I did not intend to stop the story... I'm in a Santharian low in the moment, though I am generally a bit grumpy lately also, for somehow all things don't progress as they should and too many things have to be done and the cat refuses to use her toilet nearly every day... such things ;) . And a cold hits me every third day anew, nothing seriously, but annoying.

Capher, just say, that I'm sleeping, when you get me the breakfast, so you can go on with the story! Even if Irid is slow in posting, it should not be a problem! People post!

No Capher, I just think, that the character Talia needs some time for herself. I don't think, that it will take too long to write us to the evening.

What is planned for today, will things proceed with Drustai as planned? Or do we need another clarification what should happen when?

Sorry for my lack of posting lately. I started a new job two weeks ago and have been tutoring my girlfriend through her math, so I have pretty much burned out before I could post despite several attempts leading to me just staring blankly at the screen. Her math final is this weekend so things should begin to lighten up. Will try to get a post out soon.

Not sure yet.

I think that depends on how things go between us. I'm still planning on her eventually heading to the Academy for her scheduled meeting and then the library for stealing the tomes, but as for the other stuff (IE reason why the group wants to go in there to get the books/get her out), will depend on how the personal interactions at the inn go right now.

And I'll be putting out post later today.

Thank you my dear friends for your sympathies. As I wrote in "What are your most innermost thoughts" thread, my son Allan, who I have depended upon so much moved to San Diego. Now I am all alone, physically, but in Caelereth I have many who care. Thank you all.

I think perhaps now that Sondirra has officially been invited to our group we should just move forward with Drustai going to the Academy and the rest of us going to the library.  What do you all think?

Title: Re: Ximax OOC

The library is in the academy, right? In one of those outer towers. Drustai will be in one of the inner towers I assume.

Academy of Ximax (http://www.santharia.com/places/academy.htm) <---- new entry!

To my little expedition. Well, I thought Talia feels a bit unwell with all the magic around and "knows somehow", that she needs to leave Ximax for a day. Purpose behind all is, that I want a new pet, I miss my dunemouse. And as there is a cute one available nearby, I will definitely find one :)

Talia is sitting on the great libray steps of New Santhala. I only have one question. Why a stone bull? I would think it would be more of a mythical creature of Caelereth since it is the capitol of a fantasy world.

Possibly it is, but it looks like a stone bull to me... Any questions about why would have to be asked Faugar, who made the painting ;)

Post by: Ta'lia of the Seven Jewels on May 05, 2010, 12:50:29 AM
I have no idea, why Faugar choose to set me in front of a bull, but I proposed, that it could be the Kanapan Loforno, so from there on we could say, that more magical/divine beasts are at other places around the library.

Sounds good to me.

I am not feeling very well and so I have not written a post. If someone wants to write one you can puppet me as you wish.

Capher, don't trouble us! Feel better soon!

Roosje, if you had not found your way to the library already...  I would have liked to rescue you and take you on my 'ride-out' . Well, it would have been to early for me to be there, but if it gets too boring for you, decide quickly to leave the library! :)

Oh! Well, I can still change my post if you want and just lose the others without mention of the library, in which case I would be in very much need of rescuing... And then maybe Sondirra could be the one to find some mention of what we're looking for, rather than Roosje finding some Brownie writings?

Your post Talia, very dramatic, you set the scene well, and I had no idea you could use a whip that well... ;)  There is more to you than meets the eye, but Capher knew that already, or else he would have never asked you to join him.

Roosje, puppet us out of the town, if you wish. Either with you (and Inuya) on top of Swing (in my back on a backbag?)

I'm not sure how much I get done until we leave on Saturday for Italy.

I'm away then for two weeks! And I want to see some progress when I'm back :)

Roosjie and Talia I really like your posts.

I am bored...

Sorry I am just at a loss for a post, I have some ideas, but not enough going on around to flesh them out. Really could use an post from the library group to give me just a little more to work with other than being sickening with Ta'las and maybe noting that Gavril has gotten bored of his story telling and wandered off.

Does anyone know if Talia is still with her parents? And if her parents are Okay? I am concerned. Talia if you read this, I want you to know that I have been thinking about you, your parents and family. I pray that things will turn out for the best.

Take Care of yourself and do not let yourself become exhausted doing things, exhausted people sometimes make mistakes, but mostly their health is compromised.

To the rest of the players of TH just because Talia is not here does not mean that TH shut down. I posted and you could post too, even if it is a short post to just react to what conspired between Capher and the librarian. I am sure Sondirra could come up with a nice post, as well as Terra and Ta'las. Gavril could or would be interested in more history to tell tall tales about. Even Roosjie could post how she and Talia go riding outside of town, perhaps some people they meet, and then eventuallly finding a mouse for Talia.  There are many options open to all of us if we are just willing to use our imaginations and just write instead of just letting TH hang there until Talia returns.

Please do not let TH go by the wayside! I know that RL interferes with RP and I understand that, probably more than most, but I will never give up on the best story, in my opinion, in Caelereth.

Capher.

Hello all!

Thanks for your concern, Capher!

I'm still staying with my parents, but woohoo, I have not only internet now (we had this for two months now to be able to go online with Gero's laptop when we are here) , but we brought Johanna's 7+  years old iMac with us, this one (http://www.vectronicsappleworld.com/collection/articlepics/266imac/snap1.jpg) and though it is difficult to go back a century (it feels like this) what the power and performance concerns, it works!

My father was in hospital for three weeks now and is home now the first whole day. His pain didn't get better until last Friday/Saturday and he is not painfree yet - never will be, but it seems to be bearable now and his "dullness", the inability to think straight and the need to sleep permanently due to the strong stuff he gets is better now as well. Now I have to see, how it works at home. He cannot drive the car anymore, due to the strong opiates he gets, my mother neither because of her old fractures of her vertebra, so there is some organising necessary.

Though I might have had the time now and then to post, I was not able to do so, as long as there was no light on the horizon for my parents. I drove a lot with train and car, to look for a special doctor who knows how to treat pain, went home for two days etc to look after my family. I think I drove over 2000 km in the last two or three weeks. I'm tired.

But I hope, things will be better soon and I try to spent with Roosje a nice day out :)

Sorry, RL has had me quite distracted as of late, with my shift changing and Nox (My now Ex-girlfriend) and I re-evaluating our relationship, so I really have not had much creative energy. Even The Moody Dragon my virtual club that we are moving to the InWorldz grid has not been progressing as quickly as it should. TH is not forgotten, I just need to get my juices flowing again so that I can come up with a little more than a few sentence fragments. Speaking of Ta'las I have been hoping he would post, none the less either way if need be feel free to puppet Terra ahead a bit if need be.

Anyway, because I am sure it will be asked, Nox and I have been in our long distance relationship for two and a half years now about. Anyway long story short, we sat down a few weeks back and found that some of our needs we had tried to convince ourselves were trivial and not important, in fact were and they were causing us to have problems recently. So I guess you can say we had a short, tearful epiphany early enough to save our friendship, and not for lack of love. So now we are best friends with all the caring and worries attached to it, and I am looking for someone more available to me that will be able to fulfill my needs, and she is working toward something better as well. Well at least she better be, we have a mutual ass kicking pact if either of us are not. ;)

I am so so happy and thank God that your father is at least home and seems to be recovering, Talia.  2000km, is a long way to be traveling in just a few weeks, please do not get yourself exhausted and take care of your family.

Terra, I am sorry things did not work out between you and Nox however I am glad that both of you are still friends and that you worked out your differences without the need of senseless name-calling, or backbiting or any other bad things that people do when they break up with each other. I am not saying all do or say bad things, but most. I am happy to see that both of you are mature enough to see the problems you had and found a peaceable and profitable way to end the relationship. By profitable, I mean you kept your friendship.

Ta'las or Sondirra or Gavril, if you are reading this and still with us please reply, thank you.

Hi all,

Sorry for not posting earlier.  I was trying to give some of the others a chance to react to us reaching the library.  I'll post now however, and move us a little ways forward at least.

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Damien Scar on July 09, 2010, 10:18:43 PM
Thanks Ta'las, and it should not be a requirement to let someone else post before you do if it is just to move the story forward. If there is conversation and someone is waiting for a reply, you can post what you may think, just like anyone would in a group of people: IE, when a party is going on, or when co-workers gather in the break room, or when people are sitting around a campfire, or when the conversation concerns the whole group, and not just one individual.

I hope I made myself understood, if not, then ask please.

P.S. Ta'las the librarian did not say go to the orb, but to the sign of the orb.

Very cool Capher!  Please feel free to modify the appearance of the room on the other side of the portal if need be.  I'm not really sure what it looks like, but I imagined a room of polished marble, circular in shape, and covered with sigils and other markings underneath a ceiling made to look as though someone is standing outside at night.

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Capher on July 14, 2010, 02:49:19 AM
Sounds good to me, that is what the room looks like then, however I will add some modifications as well. The first thing will be that the room is empty, no scrolls, no tomes, nothing but what Ta'las first described is what all of you see until I come in, the portal closes, and then....well I guess you will have to continue reading to find out... ;)

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Capher on July 14, 2010, 03:06:48 AM
It is a shame that Talia and Roosjie are not with us, but it will give you all something to talk about when we are all together and Dru probably would have loved it. It is a possibility Dru that you were quickly done with the elders and followed us and just right before the portal closes you jump through. Just a suggestion.

I'm going to need some severe coaching, though. I'm only on at work, so I can't promise 1/day, but I'll struggle like a maniac for 1/week+!

Talas, I hope you don't mind the minor puppeting.

And I puppeted someone else, though I didn't specify who, so whoever feels best suited to kick my butt through the door, just give me a kick.

:)

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Capher on July 15, 2010, 04:21:48 AM
I think I will leave that up to Terra, Sondirra. Capher is not the butt kicking, he would have just taken you by the hand or arm and pulled you along. However Terra on the other hand, being a warrioress, would kick you in the butt to get you to move. ;)

Once Terra posts then I will post and Dru if you want to dive in at the last minute, then post after Terra, before the portal closes.

Dru's not coming through the portal, Caph, remember she's on her own for now until we eventually meet up again.

I'll do a post eventually, though it will be solo since she's doing her own thing atm.

Okay Dru, I had forgotten what you were going to do, until I reread your acceptance post. I just figured the scroll you stole would be one from this secret room, but no, the way I have envisioned what will happen in that room, you could not have done so.

Capher, Talia? Could I get someone to email me a recap of what's gone on since I left? I haven't checked clear through the posts, and I would also like to know what's expected of me for a re-entry. Sorry for the disappearances and instability.

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Capher on July 19, 2010, 01:43:57 AM
Terri, I forgot when you left and where you are at the moment. So, once I have that information I can update you on what and who and where, and when, and why things are the way they are at the moment. Okay?  After all that then we can discuss how you can be put back into the story, actually now that I think of it Teri, it would be easy enough for you to bump into Talia and Roosjie as they travel outside the city of Ximax. I believe you knew that was where we were heading, so after whatever happened with you you continued on searching for us.

Terra, obviously you did not read the OOC post I wrote about you doing the kicking of Sondirra through the portal, no need to edit your post I will kick Sondirra through.

Okay, will have post up early next week.

Title: Re: Ximax OOC

I have been gone so long, Capher has forgotten me. This is almost depressing. Regardless, I will make it a labor of love to look up the details at the next possible opportunity, and if allowed, re-inject myself into the story.

Title: Re: Ximax OOC

Title: Re: Ximax OOC

'Teri left just as we exited the Vale. With the conveniently timed death of her antagonistic brother Garrek, it could be that she departed for the Zeiphyr to settle things of family, to let people know she was still alive, as previously to this time she had been hiding from them. I think appearing in Ximax would be a good idea - possibly with an escort of Quaelhoirhim relatives, for effect?

It'll be simple to re-inject Ken into the story. You'd expect to find him anywhere, without explanation.

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Capher on July 22, 2010, 01:08:53 AM
Sounds like a plan, though I think the family will have to depart once we head to the dwarves.

Talia, I really need to speak to you. Can you PM me, or I will PM you and we can discuss a few things.

I pray you and yours are safe, healthy as can be, and happy, that goes for all of you.

Okay Teri, no problem. Yeah, the dwarfs. Teri will just have to follow along and learn as we go. It will make for interesting conversation between all of us when we finally meet during those night time hours around a cozy campfire as head for our next destination.

Working up the courage for a post. It's been so long I don't even know if my English is still proper, or that I'm supposed to write in the present. Oh, so much to fret over. I suppose I could do a Ken, but I should go look up Ximax first. Streets, areas - the little chap could be anywhere.

Teri, I have faith in you and you will do well. I have not heard back from Talia concerning some questions I asked in PM. Terri, I really like the idea you had of coming to Ximax and then running into Talia and Roosjie. I suppose if you need to post a Ken post just to get your writing skills out of the cobwebs, then go ahead, but I would prefer the other idea instead.

Ta'las and Terra, and Sondirra, get ready...will put up a post sometime either later today or tomorrow.

Talia and Roosjie, I hope you both are well.

Teri, Roosjie is a white brownie and our companion now, not Tulpje. I think you should read the new CD"s on site.

Well, did I give everyone a nice twist!

Ta'las, Terra and Sondirra, your posts must reflect on how you try to escape, but you cannot, and you slowly lose air and begin to die. Some ideas, would be that Ta'las tries to use the symbols on the walls, but finds it useless. Eventually as the air depletes, Ta'las and Terra would huddle together and speak of their love for each other. Sondirra would write her first and last adventure; perhaps asking Ta'las and Terra about their homelands, how they met...etc, to put in her journal as well as the last thoughts of all of you for prosperity, hoping that one day someone would find the journal and read it.

If any of you have any questions, ideas, or comments please PM me.

I understand, and I will look that up; I was asked which brownie was with us last I was around, and I distinctly remember Tulpje, hence my respnse above; I hope that clears up the confusion - I also strongly dislike mobile browsers that suppose that since I have entered a period, I must be done typing; gratefully, I don't have to deal with that regularly, only on rare occasions.

Unfortunately not, Capher. My father, though out of hospital now needs my support as my mother. He needs a proper paintreatment because of a Morbus Recklinghausen and other complications and until this is done things will stay difficult. Now both can't drive a car, need a (simple) eyesurgery, need to adapt to a life where they are not independent, but have to rely on other persons.. very difficult. The situation is exhausting, more psychological than physical though.

In addition, yesterday I spent on the way to my parents six instead of three hours on the train, because somebody put some stones on the rails and the train was delayed, my connections lost and half of the buses did not go because of our holidays. I was so tired yesterday, that I went to bed to have some rest at 7:30 pm and slept twelve hours straight. I don't know, when this was the case last time.

I don't know, when I will manage my next post, maybe Roosje and Talia could meet Teri and both of them leave me to the countryside alone. Maybe Roosje could try to show Teri the way to the library?

I'll try to answer your PM though, I'll try ;)

Tomorrow we will go to Bremen for a few days - Carlos has a celebration because of his very first schoolday... I'm getting old! :D

Great post Ta'las; you did well with the information I gave you and even put in a bit of tension and apprehension when it comes to seeing Capher: whether or not he is the real one or another trick of Eckra...I like the possibilities and conflict that could create as we move forward.

I look forward to a couple of great posts from the rest of you as well, when RL allows you that is.

I do not believe that Roosjie and Teri have met personally. They may have crossed each other's paths in the Vale, but that would be it.

BTW I am back and had a fantastic time. You can read all about it in the "General Discussion thread under the title '25th wedding anniversary" if you are interested.

Also, has anyone heard from Talia?

I looked it up, they have met at least - She woke Teri and Capher up on the morning the group was to leave the vale... Though Teri might not immediately remember that. I'm not sure when exactly Teri left the company?

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Aueniteri on August 27, 2010, 03:43:55 AM
They likely haven't spoken much. As my absence was entirely unexpected, I would have to say that 'Teri left immediately after they got out of the Vale. Possibly feeling ill, returned to the Quallian and the Zeiphyr, her homelands to recover and take care of personal matters, particularly those involving her late father's estate. How much she discussed with the others is up for debate. I would think it was as little as possible, still massively disturbed by Garrek's death, and rather emotionally stressed.

To summarize, I wasn't around to decide when 'Teri left, due to unexpected circumstances in my own life, so the details will still have to be hashed out.

I have moved to my new apartment and am between internet connections at the moment. I will have my internet hooked up on the first, If I can find the time I will tap my post out tomorrow morning from my phone which I am posting from now. There is no need to wait for my post. Briefly, Terra attempts to kill Ectra? With one of her throwing knives and though it flies TRUE the portal closes before it can reach its target. As Ta'las descoverrs one of th symbols to open the portal Terra remembers the second. So there will be two remainiing symbols then Terras blade can guide them out.

Let me know if that could work. Will try to pot it tomorrpw if not Wednesday.

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Capher on September 01, 2010, 02:05:34 AM
Terra I hope you are happy with your new apt and we all will like it when you get internet accsess once again. There is a problem however with what you proposed. If you have read my posts you will already know that Eckra has left the building, he even left Ximax. If you want to post that you threw your knives that is fine, however I am at a loss as to how your blade will guide you out for one thing and there must be a trial and error period with the symbols, which Sondirra, I am assuming will write down and tell you what star constellations moved and where and if any constellations joined up in a manner that allowed the scrolls, tomes and books hidden in the keep to be seen, but not touched, for if they are touched they disappear back from where they came from.

Eventually, as the air begins to get stale and there is not much left Ta'las, you and or Sondirra or all three stumble upon the correct symbols to open the scroll that tells you to talk to the dwarves, and give them a special word that was written on the scroll that Sondirra writes down because it is in the old dwarven tongue or language that will tell them that you were sent to find Tristian's Treasure. It will then be soon after that that the real Capher rescues you all.

I am looking for interaction between you three; your fears expressed, anger, frustation, love, desires...etc as you try and find a way out. i am looking for some dramatic writing from all of you. It will/can be a great interlude until Talia returns, and Teri and Roosjie I expect to begin their own interactions as they meet one another and then try and find you. In the meantime I expect the storyline that Dru had outlined for herself to commence so that by the time Capher rescues the ones in the Keep, Dru will have been imprisoned and we will be all united and then try and get Dru out of her imprisonment and then we head to the dwarves, where the scroll of Tristian, which you three found in the Keep told you to go get more clues about where to find Tristan's Treasure.

I hope that everyone in the story will read this OOC for it is a pivital point in the story.  Perhaps I should put this elsewhere and make it a sticky, just in case not everyone reads this. I just may do that.

wonderful posts everyone! I apologize Ta'las for not getting back to you in a PM to tell you how the scrolls, tomes or books should appear when you get the right sequence of certain constellations and you had to come up with your own resources and imagination; which I laud you on. But to be able to read the scrolls, or tomes or books you would need to see it and in a small alcove as you have written it would not do. Actually, what I had in mind was that once a certain sequence was created, the scroll, or tome or book would just appear in thin air in the middle of the room. That way you could read it, but if you tried to touch it, it would disappear. To turn a page in say a book that may have appeared, you would just say to the book, "Turn to next page," and it would turn magically by itself. If say you knew the exact page number in that book where the information was stored you could say "Turn to page, such and such" and it would magically turn to that page.  when it comes to a scroll, you could read one side of it and then walk around to the other side to finish reading it or there could be on the other side symbols or signs or even a signature of some lost dead king, or scribe, or poet, or whoever may have written the scroll or tome.

However, I am not going to ask you to rewrite your post Ta'las unless you want to. Your post is good enough for me and you will just have to use your imagination to be able to read it in such a small place.

Sondirra, I especially liked your post as you have figured out you are going to die, and wondered what it would be like to have someone; like Ta'las has Terra, and then you try and calm your fears, but when the time came to help, all you could think of was that you had ruined the dress that your mother made for you.

Great drama, all of you! I look forward to reading more. Terra, I could feel the shame your character must have felt, again great post.

BTW Ta'las where did you come up with the number 4 of symbols that Eckra had touched? I never mentioned a number, just that he touched symbols as he walked around the room before finally standing in front of the last symbol that would open the portal. If you wish to use four, that is fine with me, but I was thinking of a bit larger number when I wrote my post, but four it is.

I have difficulties with replying - where are our parties, near the gates or outside? Roosje still on top of the aj‘nuvic or already down?

Roosje, I‘m sorry, but I think I have to ignore your last post. I need to answer Teri

Roosje:

Quote
It is obvious that Inuya is not at all comfortable up here, as well, but it is much too high for her to jump off. As they start walking - Talia leading Swing until they reach the town gate - Roosje stays close to the fox, calming her and in the process calming herself. If she has to take care of Inuya, at least she cannot think about how very far two peds is to fall. Once they are outside the town, Talia also mounts Swing. Roosje ceases her attentions to Inuya for a moment to turn around and ask: "So, where are we going? Just for a ride?"
Aueniteri:
Quote
As they approach Ximax, and the type that traveled to and from the city of magic become more and more frequent, the elves grow more and more wary. Finally they approach the city gates proper, and one of the elves in the rear, obviously the only one who speaks Tharian, at least in public, is speaking condescendingly with the guards when the woman spots the aj'nuvic and its riders coming from the city. She has seen such a creature, the beast of the deserts, though it has been some time. Her gaze focuses on it and her brows crease slightly - and the lead riders spot the motion. Their reaction is instant and dramatic.
Roosje: « Reply #101 on: 03 September 2010, 20:52:12 »

Roosje, I‘m sorry, but I think I have to ignore your last post. I need to answer Teri, but how?

I will assume with my next post, that I‘m leading Swing with you on her back, when I meet Teri outside the gate, but with the guards still near.

Let‘s see, how long it will take to write this post or what will hold me up again.

And then will come some remarks to the great posts of the „rest“!  ;)

I think I'd written somewhere that Roosje had asked Talia to put the two of them down, but if its easier for you to ignore my post go ahead, I will write a new one then assuming that Roosje and Inuya are still on Swing's back.

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Ta'lia of the Seven Jewels on September 09, 2010, 07:37:38 AM
Yes, you wrote that in your last post, but this one contradicts what Teri has written before.

I'll quote the relevant part

Quote
The guard looks in a mild panic, and others approach. "There'll be no fighting here!", one of them shouts desperately, and the elves ignore him. Rather, on a sudden, the woman speaks, her tongue fluently Styrash. The lead elf on her left, apparently the one most superior in rank or age, it is difficult for most to tell, listens to her for a moment, and the protectors draw back slightly. The woman dismounts, and the front-right outrider takes the reins of her animal. The leader also dismounts, and meets her when she is yet ten peds from the aj'nuvic and its riders. For a moment they converse in the elven tongue, and finally embrace. He turns to the aj'nuvic's rider with a hopeful smile as the woman steps forward, nearly within reach of the creature's head, looks hopefully up at the Shendar, and within her eyes glowing a new light, she asks, brokenly, "T-Talia?

So, they are already at the gate when we come out. There is no time for you to get of the aj.

But, maybe now is the time for you.. I think Inuja could glide over the back and  jump down, and you could use the ropes which go around the belly of Swing, there are spare ones, you could throw one down and use it to climb down - if you wish and not feeling safer on top!

*waves to all*

Welcome back Teri, I like your post very much, makes me curious about your past. Hmm, Talia should be a bit more suspicious towards your companions or wondering why you have them... maybe I edit a little.

A cool story you broke from the fence, Capher (is that an expression? ;)  no ), and great posts also. I do like our new addition Sondirra! :)

However, I do have some problems with the whole plot , not with the plot itself, but how it was written (sounds wrong also) - I didn't have the time to answer you Capher, when you asked me. FIRST - no changes or edits!!!

I want to show some problems only to avoid further when we go on.

1. Your change happens a bit to suddenly, Capher - obviously Eckra already deceived the group from the very beginning of the new day in the library (the old librarian/orc tells me that). But, as you go along, you are writing about emotions only the true Capher would have had. I think, there would be needed a strict description from the outside. If you want to surprise your fellow writers and not already show what Eckra feels.

The idea is great, I have no problems with the cave, the portal and so on.

2. Location. Where is the library? Is this an extra building in Ximax somewhere? OR, is not the only significant and important one to us in the academy itself? I know, I have not "intervened" earlier, when I was still here and we mentioned the library earlier, but we should have used the fine description we have on the site:

The Magical Academy (http://www.santharia.com/places/academy.htm)

I quote the library tower:

#

Quote
The Library Tower
The Library Tower (also called the "Tower of Tomes", "Tower of Books", "Tower of History, Myth and Lore") stands as an impressive sight, its great height and width overshadowing the grounds beneath its hallowed being. The tower houses all of the great tomes, scrolls and written knowledge ever composed by Ximaxian magi. The tower also houses many foreign tomes, as well as ancient relics and artifacts. The tower is thus both a grand museum and trove of books that is one of the great wonders in all Xaramon. Only the great Compendium Library in New-Santhala and the Royal Library in Thalambath rival the Ximaxian Library.

Inside the tower, rows upon rows of bookshelves line the walls. Each shelf is over two peds long and three peds high. Crammed within each shelf are books of every size, shape and colour. Ancient works such as a copy of the Avaesthoria, Book of Aheh, Tome of Time and the Dwarven Rock Tales all find a home in the library. The first eight floors of the tower house the book collection. The ninth floor houses the hundreds of scrolls kept in all manner of condition under display cases made of glass and wood. The tenth floor houses the relics and functions as a museum. The upper floors are offices and living quarters for the dozens of librarians and archivists that maintain the collection day after day.

There are lower basement floors as well. Most visitors, and even students of the Academy, know little of the lower levels of the library tower. It is said that there are many underground levels and even a catacomb underneath it. Some students often say these lower levels function to keep the library’s many forbidden and dark texts locked away in vaults so as to keep curious eyes from reading the evil words within: books on summoning demons as well as many foreign books of magic. It is these tomes that the most powerful of the Ximaxian archmagi wish to keep hidden, or so it is said.
[/size]
#

You visited probably the lower floors...

3. The orb: I know, the old description, how it came down,  seems to understand the orb as a (solid?) object, but it is never spoken of it as one. The newer interpretation are as I mentioned in the "Important Things Thread" is that it is a piece of Void or similar mysterious, but surely nothing you can touch or which has its own consciousness, with whichyou can speak! Maybe it is just a small confined area in the middle of the dome, untouchable, invisible somehow, which displays the magical properties of enhancing every magic tenfold. Even my interpretation, that it might heal Capher is not cannon!

So, as I said - please no editing or changing - but let us continue with giving credit to the academy as it is written AND read the Zirghurim Dwarves thoroughly, for they are very different from the rest!

Thank you! :)

HI Talia, I knew I was going to be in trouble, (hangs head in shame) when I began down this road without without waiting for you...I am sorry. My only excuse is that the idea of impersonation came as I was just writing a post and the more I wrote, the more it fascinated me as to how the rest of the group would react. I did not take the time to do any research, nor think about how the fake Capher (Ekcra) would react to certain situations; such as the barn incident, nor when he cried and Ta'las found him kneeling on the ground. Yes, Eckra would try and think of how Capher would react and then do them, but there would have been some differences, some subtle, some more obvious that there was something wrong with him.

Talia, thank you for pointing all of this out for it will make me think and become a better writer. You are such an inspiration to me and I need you to keep me on my toes! (an expression) In other words to kick my butt and point out my mistakes and laziness when it comes to posting. You're a treasure and I do not know what I would do without you, and I believe the rest would agree.

Chalk me up as in agreement. :D

And Talia, you have no idea how hard that last post was to write.  You can tell by the length of time between posts that I was struggling.  I just did not how to react.  I was a bit lost after the plot twist, to tell the truth.  Haven't been part of the story long enough to know how to field those types of surprises.  Even so, I was not happy with the post once it was done, but I needed to post something.  So, I'm glad that you approve, and you as well, Capher. :)

Title: Re: Ximax OOC

Capher, no need to 'hang your head in shame', you make me blush. Without your ideas the story would be not as fascinating as it still is. Maybe we need each other? ;)

I was not aware, that your idea was to replace Capher the whole time, just this day - but be it as it is, let's go on! (But if you wish, you could edit out only three or so phrases, than it would be ok! Or should i do this?)

---> You could however use the description of the academy now? Capher in the dome - 'somewhere' . I don't think, you need to be addressed by the orb - could it be not something in your inner self which alerts you to the need of your friends, or a ghost from the past, like your master, Seyella trying to intervene (well, she can't, doesn't matter, if you write it how YOU experience it)?

I could imagine, that a dragon like you might escape the dome - and give some spectacular appearance to the students there...

Maybe it is good, if you are not healed entirely, that may come with the time.

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Aueniteri on September 11, 2010, 04:26:09 AM
Simple explanation for the orb(s): Capher's interpretation of the forces playing on his mind. Also, his transforming, etc. could be the same, a form of hypnosis induced during his healing. I don't know how dragon minds work, but I do know it's possible for a human to envision things in a metaphorical sense that don't exist literally. Take hallucinogenics, for example. The poor stoner kid who could'a swore he had a personal interview with Shrek from the Disney cartoons.

No, no, I just thought, I wait and see if Roosje wants to post, and then I was too tired when staying with my parents.

I might post today! :)

Capher, don't you want to use the library of the Academy? If any old tomes are somewhere, then they are there! I don't know, if there is a library of any significance in the city itself. I haven't read thought the submission (http://www.santharia.com/dev/index.php/topic,14141.0.html) Rayne started , but the old entry says nothing about it.

Talia, I did use the library of the Academy, however within that library is a key to the portal of Ethan's Keep, (which is an imaginary place that I made up), actually in book two of my story "The Wizard of the White Tower" is where it will be created and read about. So for now it is not a compendium entry. I hope you understand all of that? If not I will try and answer any question you may have.

If you are speaking, on the other hand, where Capher is: He is where the Orb, not Bluestride's Orb, but the other one resides. That is the only Orb that could heal him as it has magical power beyond imagining because of its relationship with the Void.

As always if anyone has any questions, ideas, suggestions, or even comments please feel free to "shout" away, (not literally) of course, but you know what I mean.

EDIT: Thanks Teri for the compliment, but remember it was your idea. So, thank you.

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Ta'lia of the Seven Jewels on September 21, 2010, 02:59:23 PM
Capher, is that book two on the dev-board somewhere?

What I meant was that passage in your last post:

Quote
He knew that his friends were in the outer city of Ximax, and were going to search the vast library of Ximax for any clues to the whereabouts of Tristian's treasure

That key and hidden place Eckra lured the friends to is ok, just.. hmm, the library is nearby. I mean, Capher knows, were the library is (in the outer ring of the academy). When do you think Eckra pretended to be Capher, from the beginning or just with the last visit?

I know you are in the dome where THE orb is. I always thought you were talking of that piece of void with the incredible magic influence and not of Xarl's Orb - with that you could have talked! ;)

Now, a post, finally!

Ah Talia, I now see your problems with my posts and I am surprised that the others did not catch the problems as well. I need to edit the post where Eckra reveals himself to Ta'las and the rest. He states,
Quote
"You are only too naive. All this time you thought I was Capher. Capher has been sealed since he entered into this vile place.

His words have double meaning. Capher has been sealed, but not in the meaning of "Sealed away" but in the meaning of "Sealed, as in marked, or put in a certain position"

Eckra did not take the shape of Capher until he passed through the portal, there in that split blink the real Capher was sent into his hallucinatory state and Eckra took his place as soon as he stepped through the portal.  In my post when Eckra and the old librarian, who turns into Ghun the orc, I guess needs explaining as well. Ghun is the only real person of the two of them. He had killed the real librarian and with some magical powder given to him by Eckra, transformed himself into the form of the librarian.

I suppose, in retrospect, I should have told all of this somehow in my posts, but I just did not think it through, as Talia has discovered and was rightly confused and called my attention to it. However, now that I have explained here in the OOC, let us just now continue forward. I am waiting for more posts from the group in Ethan's Keep and I am wondering after Talia and Teri along with Roosjie talk some that they do not try and find their friends, then in the process of looking, is when I show up, ask where Ta'las and the others are, of course you do not know and tell me that you have been searching for all of us and that is when I really know that my mind was telling me the truth and I, along with Talia, Teri and Roosjie, rescue our friends.

How does all of that sound to you all?  Any problems? Any discussions? Any questions? Any other ideas?

Yes, let's us go forward, but.. Thea wants to have a new pet for Talia, so Talia has to go outside to get it. apart from that Talia gets nauseous in the city...

We don't know, that our friends are in danger - I thought, that I left my flute in the inn..

Maybe.. hmm *thinks*

Though Talia surely doesn't want to leave Teri now, it might be an idea, that all three go back to the inn, but Talia gets ill again and so she flees out of the city, while Roosje leads Teri to the inn. The plan is, that both meet Talia outside later in the day..

In the inn however, when Roosje shows Teri Talia's room, the flute on the bed sings. Roosje knows about its properties (Talia has told her before, how it worked  - the dogs!) , tells Teri, who dares to touch it (she doesn't know about the dangers). The flute shows Teri, that the friends are in danger, normally it would show the where as well, but I'm not sure about that hidden place...

What do you think?

That would have the advantage, that you can post without me (apart from the next post), for a children's birthday (sorry, the meeting of a few young ladies, 16 or so) is waiting for me and visitors at the weekend.

As soon as the weekend has passed and Talia has her pet, she will come back and join the rest again.

Any good?

Sounds good to me Talia. What about the rest of you? BTW Talia, is it your daughter's birthday? or someone else's? Whoever it is wish them a very nice Happy Birthday from me and tell them I pray they have many many more.  See you soon on the boards once again.

'Teri knows something about the flute, though I don't believe she has ever known it to do this. Only hints about its ability, and therefore, yes, would be prone to act as you have dictated, Talia. Sounds like an excellent plan to me.

Well, I changed my mind and brought us three outside the walls... I couldn't find a good reason not to do so. So for now you need to rescue yourself! :(

Roosje, Teri, if I went on too quickly, just tell me.

If we need to be called back quickly, I could have my flute with me, don't know excarly, where it is right now ;)

But I need a Drakelet first! Though it might come to a disaster... I reread the entry. Maybe I should go with a cat instead... or a fuzzle..

Post by: Capher on September 30, 2010, 03:44:33 AM
Did you not have your flute with you when you rescued Roosjie from the dogs, Talia? If you did then it would be a natural assumption that you just put it in your backpack and perhaps forgot all about it afterwards.

I am just wondering where Ta'las, Terra, and Sondirra went off to? I was kind of looking for more interesting posts from them before they are rescued. However if it is of the opinion of the rest that the "Ethan's Keep" scene be shortened then Capher and the three in the Keep, can just find Talia, Terri and Rossjie and as they travel to the dwarfs can talk about what happened.

Of course that would mean that Capher would be completely healed, which is fine with me, and that the three who were in the Keep would mistrust Capher and eventually that mistrust could seep into the entire group and cause division and chaos which could jeopardize the entire quest.  It could make for some interesting conversation's, thoughts and actions as we move along, especially for Capher as he tries to gain their trust back, though he did nothing wrong.

I did not write, where the flute is, so that leaves us every possibility we need. However, I do not know HOW we could help the others,  even if I would see with the flute where you are, how should we be able to get to you?

And Talia will be even more nauseous, if she uses the flute a second time within a day.

I think you have to help the other three. Maybe even not fully healed.

Your ideas about mistrust are good!

Thanks for the PM Roosje! That's exactly what I wanted to post before I left home, but then it was stress all over again..

I thought you might be bored by the conversation of Teri and me, go away and find a drakelet (http://www.santharia.com/bestiary/drakelet.htm) with a broken wing? I'm not sure, if it should be devoid of the scales already? Ugly and annoying? I'm not sure at all, if I want one after I reread the entry,  :rolling:

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Capher on October 06, 2010, 02:13:35 AM
Talia, a drakelet would be a nice pet for you... ;)

I am becoming a bit concerned about ta'las, terra and Sondirra. We have not heard from them in quite awhile. I posted a post that could give you, Talia and Teri some room to either meet me, bump into me or whatever. Also Dru, you could post seeing me. With no knowledge of what I did or what had happened earlier this morning, Capher would have an unusual reaction to you, Dru and to the rest would ask questions that would be strange and perhaps frightening to you Talia. At least Capher would have forgotten that he thought you were with child. ;)

Anything would be fine just as long we move the story forward. I just do not know where or what happened to Ta'las or Terra or Talia. I pray that they and their families are fine and doing well. If we do not hear from Ta'las and Terra soon, then Capher will go look for his friends and even if he has to will rescue them by himself. I will give a few more days. Till the end of the week, how does that sound to everyone?

I' m sorry to have not posted earlier, but I'm a bit emotionally stressed recently. I'm staying with my parents in the moment . Our direct neighbour here, a very friendly woman of age 51 with a daughter of 12 died last Sunday night . She had a very fast growing cancer, knew it only for 4 months...

I'll try to post in the next two days. Somehow I'm so tired all day long.

Wow, fifty-one. That seems a bit young, but I guess there was the cancer thing. My grandmother topped eighty and is still working a garden...

I am so sorry Talia. I will pray for your neighbor's family; for comfort and peace through their time of sorrow and yours. I believe the reason you are so tired is because you are being tugged at emotionally and physically and spiritually. That can tire even the best of us.

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Kenriil on October 15, 2010, 03:07:28 AM
I'm-a hafta agree with Capher, there. Emotional stress can be a serious downer, but we still love and pray for you, all of you, really. I guess that's what happens when you become friends, even if it's distant. Doesn't take a whole lot to get attached to somebody like that, you know. Just a fair amount of time sharing interests, and the next thing I know, I'm getting all stressed out and 'bent outta shape', to use the local vernacular, when they're having problems even if I'm not. There's a lot of odd vernacular that happens around the SouthWest here, but most of it's really just messing up our words, with a little drawl and a lot of just forgetting to say part of a word. An odd bunch that way, but I guess that describes us all, odd bunch. Why, most of us have never even been to where the others live, and I guess that makes us as odd as one can get. Truth be told, though, one can get pretty odd. I've heard of oddities...

Thanks my friends! This death really keeps me occupied. I haven't been a close friend to her, but maybe it burdens me, because she was younger as me and all went so quickly. In august she still thought, that she would live on, but then chemo failed. I promised to that girl to be available for her if she needs me. Per letter/email or when I'm there every four weeks or so. So now I have another daughter to care for. That's nice, but it is a burden also, at least, where everthing seems so heavy. Gladly my own children are all doing well.

I'll try to do a post this morning!

Welcome Ken! Will you join us again? :D

Title: Re: Ximax OOC

I'm gonna drop him in on Capher, was thinking of a post, but writing Ken takes... much forethought. I must re-read Capher's post, and will have to take many, many leisures with his character. I also find it odd and annoying that Firefox does not think "leisures", as in, more than one leisure, is a word. Can I not pluralize my own dialect at will?

Edit!

Alright; hope that wasn't too presumptive.

LOL, can you imagine the problems I have sometimes with firrefox? ;)

Capher, you could look for me in my room and find the flute, humming. I don't know though, what it will do with your mind! But it could show you, that  - and maybe where, the others are in trouble.

But we could say also, that I have it with me and that we are alerted by it .. after I have my pet!

Sorry I have not posted in so long. Life has kept be preoccupied and I am still at a loss for Terra's reaction, I think though that she is to much in her cloud of shame and disappointment to really react to Sondirra. As much as her cool expression has become her face of focus, it's also become a comfortable mask to hide what she is really feeling. I am sure when this is all over Capher and/or Ta'las will need to bring her out of her cloud.

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Capher on October 21, 2010, 03:27:26 AM
Wow Ken, as usual, you make things interesting, that is for sure. Capher is running, we are lucky that we both did not go tumbling around on the street. :fish:

Terra, so glad to know that you are still around. Real life can be strenuous; i am glad you are fine and well though. so, you are going to play your character in "shock" because of her missing Eckra with her knife and the situation you three are all in now? Okay, I can imagine that.

We still need to hear from Ta'las. I hope he and his family are well.

EDIT: Ken, I will post after I have had some time to think of a decent response.

Talia, your idea of the flute in your room is good, but how are you and Terri going to bump into myself and Ken?  I suppose we could do it outside of the inn after I have seen a brief vision of the three in the Keep, and realize that my mind was telling me the truth. Then we all go into the library, I open the portal, we all go into the Keep, rescue the three and at the same time read the scroll about where Tristan's Treasure may be and that the Theragrim dwarves may have a clue as to how find that treasure.

The next chapter will be the travel to the Theragrim dwarves? Or will that be included in this chapter?

Title: Re: Ximax OOC
Post by: Ta'lia of the Seven Jewels on October 21, 2010, 05:51:17 AM
Hmm, I fear you have to go to the rescue alone, old dragon. Or with Ken...

As soon as we are out of Ximax we open up a new chapter, but we need to play out still the part with the book, we need a solid and interesting reason why we should take Drustai with us, or why she follows us.

What was our idea - she steals a book, gets caught, we take the book back to the library (or not??) . Well, Drustai thinks we have the book and follows us.

Just an idea, maybe one of us (Ken??) takes the book with him without we noticing it. Drustai would never think, that Ken might have it... could be interesting.

Time to read up the Zirghurim Dwarves!

Talia, you have brought up some good points and ideas. I like the idea of Ken just walking off with the exact same book that Drustai is looking for and she follows us not knowing who has it and has to get close to us to discover who has the book.

Ken, if you want to edit your post and we collide, I am all for it. A little comedy is good for the soul. I can see it now; flashes of different colors rolling in the street while Ken keeps on talking about doing sommersaults.  :rolling:

Ken, I hope you did not mind me puppetting your character. In your post you can add whatever you wish to "flesh" out both posts.

Terri and Talia and Roosjie, now would be the time for us to bump into each other as Ken and I walk out of the inn and you three along with your new found pet, are entering the inn. However if you have different ideas or suggestions: I am open to them.

Title: Re: Ximax OOC

It's fine, Capher. At this point, Ken's just following you. The only thing I think I could add would be some of his chatter, but after an introductory few paragraphs, I like to let that kindof slip out of the story. As fun as it is, it can get boring.

EDIT:

Has anybody else been struck by the Tribe of 'T's? Talia, Terra, Ta'las, and 'Teri.

Though 'Teri is technically Aueniteri; then there's Capher and now Sondirra, and of course Ken. We almost have the number to 50/50.

Is "eight" a significant number in Caelereth? Or in one of its races or societies? I am not sure.

Anyway, Ta'las that was a very well written post. I just wished that you had crawled over to Terra to be with her, but no damage done.

Capher and Ken will rescue you, Terra and Sondirra, that is if Ken does not mind?

Talia, Teri and Roosjie; it may be that as Ken and Capher leave the inn you see us, call for us but we do not hear, then amongst yourselves you have to decide whether to run and catch us, bring your injured animal into the inn, or separate and have one or two stay with the animal and one come after us, or none and just let us go. It would give you all a chance to post something; even if it is just to get your writing skills a chance to get out of our mothballs. ;)

It is your decision.

I'm sorry for my latest absence, but RL was just too much lately. It was a matter of concentration also - I went up the stairs to my comp to write a post and had forgotten what I wanted to do when I was sitting.

I'm not sure about the following days, we will see.

Edit:

Just read Capher's post in the absence thread:

I would propose following:

Teri, Roosje, or Talia should bring us three back to the inn, whoever has the motivation or time first.

Ta'las, Teri, Sondira? Could you free yourself? somehow? Through luck maybe, if nothing else helps? Drustai?

Ken, you are in the inn already with Capher - feel free to do whatever you like, but be back in time :)

I like to propose a break after that till around the sixth of January. I'll be away over Christmas, staying with my parents, afterwards I have several visitors, my grandsson and his mother, my former guest daughter, over New Years Eve even more people....

Mid of January school has started again and life hopefully will normalise, though I have to stay with my parents often. But hopefully the old comp there will live a bit longer..

So, agreed? Maybe Capher feels then well again and we can finally start out to see those dwarves.

Hi my good friends.

I hope this small message reaches you all. I have been dealing with severe depression and being enhanced by one of the medication's I was taking. My doctor's have taken me off that medication and I will be put on a different one, a pill called Gilenya. It has some serious side effects for some people, but they are rare, however since this is the newest drug out there, there is not that much information except from the clinical trials. I will be going through some tests, then if I pass I will be able to begin the new treatment.

I know that I left you suddenly and without an explanation and I apologize; depression is something akin to admitting you are an addict or something, at least it was to me. Now with help and being taken off the medication that my doctors said helped worsen the depression I am getting back to my old self again and hopefully will be back writing on the boards again, if you still want me that is?

Take care all of you;

Capher.

Hi to my friends at TH.  I am ready to begin again and I have some thoughts on how we should move forward.  My thought is that we start a new chapter and that it is at night and we are camped right below the mountains getting ready to meet the Zurig dwarfs.  Ta'las, Terra and Sondirra are suspicious of me, especially Ta'las; even the others, except ken, who saw me rescue the three.  The rescue and what happened would be the starting point of our conversation's during the night.

If everyone agrees to that scenario then I will write up a post that will summarize in Capher's thoughts what had happened, how everyone is reacting to me, (at least as how he see's it) and put us at the base of the mountains.

However if any of you have any different thoughts or ideas I would gladly love to hear and discuss them.

I hope that all of you and yours are well and that you are all willing to start anew.

Capher.

God created public libraries for a reason!

This is Aueniteri, checking back in. Am I back? I would wish so, but I wouldn't promise a regular basis, just yet. I am literally walking up and down the streets of my new hometown looking for work and a place to live. Homeless, jobless... a state I never wanted to fall to, but it became absolutely unavoidable if I was to become my own person, to make my own choices. Some day, I'll get on my feet. Soon; as in, this year, I'll become a functioning member of society again, and then I shall be back with as much gusto as ever I was present. Until then, my friends... please remember me kindly.

May God bless you and strengthen you during this trial;

Capher.

Oh Teri! What news you bring! I dearly hope you will get this job and with it a start! I wished I could help you in some way!

I am not sure where you are Teri, but if you are in the U.S. then I would try and just get a Post Office Box to receive your physical mail.

Not working. The job required a GED, which will take more time than I have money to survive here. I'm moving somewhere to try and live with a brother - something I earnestly hoped wouldn't happen. Still, I am alive.

I will pray for you Teri.

To all the rest, I am sorry I have not been on lately, I have not been feeling well. Hopefully in the near future I will get a post up to restart us on our journey.

New, more permanent place to live. Now in N. Idaho. Using onscreen keyboard as my lappy's built-in is broken.

Teri, God answers prayers! I am so glad to hear that you have a place to live. Now I will pray that you find gainful employment.

Teri, I so hope, all will go well for you soon. If you only could be here, I would have plenty of space for you, with two kids out of house now. And no guest kid in sight.

Where exactly is 'here', Ta'lia? If you don't mind my asking.

That's what I thought. Now I need a plane ticket...

I jest, but it's a nice thought.

Keyboard! I never thought something so stationary could provide so much freedom! I think I'm ready for a full-on comeback! That... is, if... you'll still have me. My record has been notoriously imperfect, I'm afraid.

I'm going to Canada for three weeks, starting Monday, so I won't have time for any more IC posts. See you all in three weeks! :)

Have a good trip Irid. Teri that is fantastic news. I am still not 100% not even 50% but I will get a post up soon. I was hoping to hear from Ta'las, but no answer. In the meantime perhaps Talia and Terri could talk to one another about what had happened, the estrangement between Capher and the others; or how you are doing with your new pet, of even trying to get to talk to Terra, like a group of women talking amongst themselves. Just some ideas so that we can keep our writing skills up.

Talia, I decided to go the way i did because I was intrigued with the shivering woods and at Horth I was thinking of some sort of way to add your friend if she still wants to play and is around.  Did you receive any news about Sondirra?

Take your time Capher. As for the ideas I am up for any of them in the mean time.
