Okay. I let this languish for far far too long.  I apologize, dear friends, for letting it get away on me.

I invite all of you interested in returning to join me once more.  Rather than trying to go on with the Chapter that was in Drustai's head, I have decided to skip on to the next Chapter. The Thalambath chapter was added to integrate what was at the time, the new entry on Thalambath, so wondrously written by Drustai herself.

As Dru has gone on and left us due to RL issues, I find myself wishing to rejoin the story in the timeline it had originally been given.  I pray this is acceptable to you.

To this end, I have employed a rather ham handed approach, to wit, a ploy made famous by that 80's TV soap Dallas, where a whole season was written off as simply a dream.  So, join me in pulling back the shower curtain to reveal a healthy Bobby, and we shall pretend that Thalambath happened but we remember little.  Make a history as you wish, revealing as much history as you desire.

I'm sorry. I won't return. I think I'm done with roleplaying for the time being. I've spent four years here, got involved in three stories, made great friends, and I have enjoyed it all a lot. But in the next 18 months or so, I'll often be out three or four nights a week (I'm back at school again, learning mathematical statistics in the evenings). So I'll be able to visit Santharia on weekends only, and I feel I can't commit to regular posts. Besides, I want to keep space for other writing projects. (I was hoping to write a story for the Library again, sometime. Haven't done that in years.) It's also true that I get frustrated with the stop-and-start rhythm of play-by-post roleplaying. Well, with the stops, mostly. The starts are always glorious, full of fun and suspense and somersaults of imagination. I am sad that I'll be missing this one.

I'm also sorry that it took me two weeks to make up my mind. I was approaching a deadline for an article I had promised to write, and my head was going all crazy, so that I didn't trust myself to decide upon Lili the Elfcat's destiny. Destiny is my favourite story, and it's truly difficult to give it up. It has provided me with some of the best fun I've had during the last four years. I will cherish the memories, and that's not just a phrase.

There's no need for tearful good-byes, since I plan to stick around on the Dev Board. I hope I'll see you all there. But I do feel nostalgic when I think back to the firework of ideas and the happy chaos of plotlines that was Chapter One. May the sun shine on your road, as they say. Although, well, at the moment it looks as though you're not lacking in sunshine, down there in that desert, and would be thankful just for a road. Well, good luck, my friends! You may well find me reading about how you get on.

I'm very sorry to hear this.  But, I understand and respect your decision and thank you for posting your goodbye.  I will take solace in the hope that statistically speaking, many who leave find there way back again at some point, and Lili can return anytime you so choose.

I thank you for gracing this story with your amazing writing, and I will miss it and your presence here.  Again, I apologize for letting the story pause for such an extended period.

Looks like it is just us, Toama.  I'll keep it that way until we reach a settlement, where we would naturally find new companions.  Then I'll put out a call for new players.  :D

Toama, I'm not sure if you did not post because I left you little to work with, so I chose to post a plot advancement.  Please feel free to place in your post any events that happened to you in the few hours since the meeting with the Mother and the feast.

 :shocked: Phooey.  I did not know the Sword Dance was a two person event.  I was going off of Seeker's lovely pick in the Shendar article and it was not described fully there.  I either didn't look up the Double Kilij entry, or did not read it fully.  I only did now after your post and realizing I screwed it up.  I was going for a Tai Chi meets whirling Dervish type dance.

Now I'm embarrassed.  I'll leave it as is because Shira has posted on it, but I apologize.  Maybe if Toama asks Ta-Mayleene about the dance, I can make something up.  Ugh.

Well, the article on it only goes into it very briefly, and mainly its origins. Perhaps there are single-person sword dances by now too (Shira wouldn't know). You could PM Talia and ask her (will probably get through easier on the dev board, if you do). :)

Ethyn, when did you think you might be posting? I have one mostly written but was planning on holding off to let you get your char introduced first. I can roll with it first if that's preferred though.

Just wanting to update: I recently came down with a major depressive episode which has severely sapped my ability to sit down and write. I'm slowly getting out of it, but just want to let people know why I've been delayed in getting my post up.

Okay, I posted finally. So so sorry about the long delay. The last few months have been rough for me.

Due to needing the group outside for my part, I decided to fast forward just a bit. Please let me know if that's an issue.
