Bobbo I am glad you are enjoying this reparte, however be careful Malok is leading you right into a trap.:p

Luci, why do you have to eat mush.  If you do not mind me asking, what kind of surgery did you have?  Oral surgery? If it is none of my buisness, just say so and that will be the last of that.   BTW I am glad you are back I could never speak for you as you do.  I even think Issrah is thinking she has met a formidable foe.:p

I don't mind at all Oscar.
The thing is that I had so many and so extensive ulcers in my stomach that they had to remove 3/4 of it, so now I got a tiny tiny stomach.....since they don't want it to get plugged or anything I have to eat mush the first months while the seams heal. :x

I hope you have understood Lucirina's little plan Oscar, to make Issrah attack her so she can scream for help, averting Malok's  attention from Oscar and Bobbo. My little elf is a bit of a kamikaze when it comes to people she care for.

Title: Re: OOC Thread 2
Post by: Oscar Lotus on January 23, 2003, 03:02:22 AM
Luci- What a weight loss program.  Really seriously, I hope you feel better and that those ulcers do not come back.

And no, I was hoping that you would understand the escalation between the two women.  I just love the drama, and especially the animosity between these two.  It has become so good that I am rethinking about the death of Issrah, Oh, you will be able to kill her, but not as quick as I had been planning.  I was thinking you would kill her during the escape.  But I think just wounding her, would be better and then the motivation for yours, Bobbo's and the rest would not only be by Malok, but by Issrah too, to avenge her wounding and pride.

Bobbo your reparte between Malok and yourself is going to another motivation for Malok to get to you once we escape.  I am thinking that once you are put on the wall.  Several things are going to happen during the night.  If you both just follow my lead, I think you will see where I am heading and then can post appropriately.

Shaint and the others.  Good job, but more interaction between you all.  Sit down and talk amongst yourselves.  Get to know each other, your histories, your motivations, ect.  That way when the next test comes in Strata you will have more in common.  If Shaint and Keelin, with both of your permissions of course, do start a budding romantic relationship, that is all well and good.  It could give me some thing to think about when you meet the King of Thieves in Strata, who plays both sides of the coin, if you get my meaning.

Of course if no romantic inclinations are in the works, but just a deep friendship that works as well.  In fact I want you all to develop deep friendships.  That way when one of you gets captured or is hurt then your motivation is that much more intense then just money, however if one or more of your characters are motivated be just money, that could be a nice plot twist as the story goes on.  I will continue reading the posts and see if I get an inkling of who that character(s) may be if any.

I hope this is not too much for all of you to digest.  If it is becoming too complicated then tell me and I will adjust the plot line(s) of the story.

Thanks.

Oscar that sounds good but the problem with my Gararion character is he tends to try not to form deep relationships.  This started after the death of his wife.  Ever since that event he has vowed to never love again.  Also with that came the feeling that he didn't want to deep of ties in the world as they might come back later in his life and nip him in the behind.

Title: Re: OOC Thread 2
Post by: Oscar Lotus on January 23, 2003, 04:12:22 AM
I understand Gararion, but sometime sooner or later, we must learn to trust again, albiet it may be hard and slow, it still must come otherwise lonely men and women we become.  As the saying goes.  "Tis better to love and have lost, than never to have loved at all."

Bobbo- Your post helped me to think of this twist in the plot.  Not that you are a traitor, but that they think you are.  You could use it to your advantage or not.  That is up to you.  I will follow your lead in that area.  But it is nice, is it not? The plot twist I mean?

Luci- Well here is your chance to scream and even give Issrah a little taste of your fury.:p  Issrah is not using magic, she is so furious she is not thinking straight.

Wrong, Shaint.  You are not about to storm the walls of Strata.  All different types of races are allowed in Strata as long as they pay the guards enough.  However remember Troas and his spies are looking for a company with a Troll as one of their members.  So maybe you could figure out a way to disguise him.  It is you dilema, test, you have to figure it out.  Just use your imagination and not have magic do all the work for you.  You know magic does have its limitations.

Now, can anyone tell me what's wrong with this picture? Yep, that's right. Everyone but Keelin seems to know about Shaint's feelings. And I'll just bet that no one's going to bother to tell her. They'll all act annoyingly superior and smile knowingly and confuse her.

*flicks Raoneth back to yesterday*  Dont even think about it!:lol   I think it would be nice if everytime we come to a dilema we don't immediatly call on Gar.  I'm sure that there should be a sewer outlet going into the harbor.  If we crawl in through there we can get to anywhere in the city unseen.  And if you think about what underground-resistance-force doesn't have a base somewhere in the sewers.

ROFL   I am laughing so hard I fell of my chair.  Imagination, what a wonderful gift given to us all.

Radaroc, yes their are sewers in the city, but none of them are big enough for a troll to fit in. They are ruled by the thieves of Strata and their spies are rat brownies.  If you read the descrip of the city in Thalambath's Heart, under the thread Sewers ect. and the OOC threads you will get a good picture of what the Sewers are like, who the King of the Thieves is and of course if you read the city descrip on the main site you will read what the city proper looks like.  That is a good suggestion for the rest of Shaint's party as well.

If you need any help.  I guess I could paste the descrip of the King of thieves, and the sewers and the city in a thread all of its own.  It is up to you.  You tell me.  Ok?

Well actually I had other plans for her, but it is ok, besides you seemed to enjoy it so much.:p   However once Rhas finds out you killed her sister you will have an enemy that will hunt you down.  And since Malok and she has your flute along with Bobbo's sword.  The melee between you three is... inevitable.  But more is yet to come.  I hope you are enjoying this little tale.

We could go around and in by the sea...

We could kill all the guards in the city.

We could dress mr. troll up as a cow, they're probably allowed in.

We could go through or over the wall. (I suppose we'd have to toss the dwarf... :D  )

We could dig a big tunnel, or just expand the sewers.

Or we could just walk in through the front door and take

I think we have many options.

The best way is usually the easiest way. Just bribe your way in through the Western Gate.  Make your way to Merchant row and find Hashish.  He is usually selling his wares very early in the morning.

There problem solved.  As far as Radaroc, let the spies see him.  BTW I will play the spies and Troas and the King of Thieves and Hashish.  Just follow my lead and all will go well.  I will post the continuing plot of the story in the OOC as soon as you get to the city.

Bobbo- Your ring is more powerful than I thought.  You never mention in your char descrip that it could actually vanquish a Fire Lords spells.  The spells would have decreased over time as soon as Malok left.  You were just a little impatient.  However since you did not know.  I will go with the flow.  However you will have to edit that you picked up your saddle bags.  They, your sword, Luci's flute and anything else that was in the tent disappeared along with Malok and Rhas.  Malok thought he was taking you along with them, but Thalambath forbid it.  Just as Thalambath released Oscar and Luci.  Malok will discover your absence and try and figure out how it happened.

:lol  More like a one sided affair.

Has anyone seen or talked to Bobbo?  He is needed desperately.  His reactions to what has happened so far and his thoughts are warranted.

Shaint, when are you and your party going to get to Strata.  That night is lasting a long time.  Ah, those summer nights. Huh, Shaint?:rollin   Well anyway, please try and get to Strata.  Remember as soon as you get to the Eastern gate. You will be stopped by guards, and you will have to bribe them to be let into the city.  Either you can NPC the guards or I can play them for you if you want.  I will keep my eye on the posts.

Luci and Bobbo and the rest what do you think of the story so far?  Is it keeping your interest, or is it bogging down? Becoming too complicated?  Do any of you have any suggestions as to how to make it better?  Just email me or put your thoughts here in the OOC.

Thanks.

'I wish it need not have happened in my time,' said Frodo.

'So do I,' said Gandalf, 'and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us . . .'

Shaint I will play the guards.  I would prefer if you all would not mess up the guards.  Just bribe them, ok?

Luci, are you trying to seduce poor Qui?:o   He is having enough problems with his emotions without having to deal with the touch of your hair and your scent.  It is quite driving him mad.:p   I am kind of looking at this developing relationship like Lancelot and Guienevere in King Arthur's stories.  Or I may add a twist, I am not sure.  Your last post has made me think now for almost a day.  I read it yesterday afternoon and I am still trying to think of a way to reply.

Title: Re: oh,allright

There fixed that for you all.  Now you can enter and Shaint keeps his money.:p   In the confusion you can now hide yourselves.  At least until after the storm passes by.  Of course once Troas knows you are in the city, he is going to blame you for the storm.  He already is thinking that the Tristin has a magician working for him.  So it would be no big jump for him once he finds out that Gararion is a mage, that he would accuse you of doing this.

Of course then the plan will be to have the citizens of Strata come against you.  By blaming their stores and homes being destroyed by you.  So you all have some quick thinking to do.  My thoughts would be to hide within the huge sewers beneath the city.  The only one who would not fit would be Rad, but maybe you can figure out something.  It is up to you.  I gave you a challenge, now you all must figure out what to do.  Gararion is good for advice, but Shaint you are the leader and there are others in your party that can help as well, not just Gar.  Remember Raoneth is a brownie.  His help in the sewers will be needed.  Especially when you finally meet the rat brownies.:p

Just some things for you all to ponder over the next few days.:lol

Listen up Shaint and others.  Do not, I repeat do not kill any of the bouncers.  Just save Raoneth and Shaint and get out of the Glory inn.  You may fight with the bouncers, but do not kill them or heavily injure them.  A few bruises and such is ok, but that is all.  However you could just get out, it is your choice to either draw attention to yourselves or not.  Just remember that your actions cause others, some good, some bad.

Near the waterfront is an inn called Bavaras's Anchor.  You should all try and meet there.  It is a typical dive, but at least you would not attract too much attention, even rad, as long as he stays covered up as he is.  BTW it is also a thieves hangout as well.

I used to be in the whole ROTC thing.. but that was in High School, and I was in the Air Force branch. It was a bit of fun though and I did make it pretty high up in the ranks, only I had to quit halfway through my last year because I decided to graduate early and go to England. I made it to Major and nearly became a squadron commander until they found out I was leaving. Are you in college ROTC or actual Military? Can't be highschool cause they don't often practice during nights.:p  I can only guess though cause I don't know your age or anything.

correct I am 18 turning 19 this summer.

And my voice?

Well I have one of the better drill voices.  And when I speak to a person I usually speak to those people in a calm voice.  But when I figure that that person just isn't repecting me then I move in closer so I am pretty much standing on a persons toes.  Then I get in right close to your face, if you move back to get a way I move even closer.  I have literally made a few people fall backwards before :lol

But if I think that person is still not respecting me then I begin to yell in your face calling you every name in the book.  And I hope you don't mind a little added spit for a added effect ;)

I am assuming that ROTC is one of the american entry plans into the forces.

In canada we have the following entry plans:

Regular Forces Officers:
Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)
Direct Entry Officer (DEO)
Continuing Education Officer Training Plan (CEOTP)

What! Gar, you have no enlisted men?:lol   Well Gar if you are going to be an officer, I wish you the best.  I was in the U.S. Navy myself.  I was a code breaker.  Military Intelligence.  I wish I would have stayed in, I had thought about going to OCS, Officer's Candidate School, but then I got out.

Luci, no I don't mind.  However I was hoping that Qui and her could become closer, but you seem to have changed your character, maybe it will take just a little bit more longer to break through that ice.  Qui will have to use his charm:D   And at the same time keep Lord Bobbo from not knowing.:)   They both seem like impossible tasks.  Let's see if Qui is up:p , to it.

Well the way I look at it is if we go to war and I am needed I will be going to war.  There is no question about it.  If I die the first day I enter then I die.  If I come out of the war with no damage then I was lucky.  Anything in between I am prepaired for.

@Gararion: Another thing to think about, I wouldn't mind dying for Canada, the UN or for what I believe in.  Bush/Oil (I can't tell the difference) no.  And 'cause Canada is just plain a better place then the US in all but one respect...which I will come up with later.

Say Gararion, when are you going to speak to Grunk?  Or at least post something how you feel about his intrusion, or even that you noticed that most of your party is in the tavern with you.  Except Keelin!

Oh, Keelin where did you go?  Did you get lost in the city.  You know an idea just popped into my head.  Damien's men could capture you. That would be just the reason for Shaint and the others to come after you.  You tell me what you all think, especially you Keelin.

BTW Rad, you could walk through the main sewer pipes, just not through their branches.  The main ones are just about three peds tall.(approximately nine feet.)

Yes, I am a violent little girl when I want to be.

:p  Keelin yes you can get captured, and before you do you can injure and even kill one of the men before doing so.  Then you will be taken to Damien's and probably he will take a shine to you and try and make you part of his harem.  He won't understand why you can't talk, but that will just endear him more to you.

Gararion, Grunk could not see you clearly, you had your cowl covering your head and with the low light in the Tavern.  He thought he was speaking with a human, a rich one at that.:)

Shaint, if you and the others start something in the Anchor.  Don't!  I am warning you.  If you want to take it out on Grunk, later, after he leaves the bar or something that is different.  BTW Grunk hates any race that is not human.  It's just the way he is.  Beating him up will just fuel his hatred and prove him right.

Besides you are going to need him, to help you lead you to Damien's underground palace.  But you hotheads do what you want.  Just remember your actions cause me to change my plots and causes reactions, sometimes disastrous ones.

Title: Re: Oscar!
Post by: Oscar Lotus on March 07, 2003, 04:09:22 AM
Shaint I have been rereading your posts.  And have discovered that you are taking for granted things your character does not know.  For instance; Grunk knowing he has information, in fact even knowing Grunk's name.  He never told you, Gararion never told you.

A little advice and that goes for everyone, just because you may read and know what is going on, your character does not neccesarily know.  Your character must discover what is going on by themselves.  For instance; You know that Keelin is missing from your party.  You knew that because someone told you, and from her obviously not being with you.  However your character does not know that she is being attacked.  Your character does not know that Grunk is one of Damien's spy's, albeit a slow and poor one, he still is one of Damien's eyes and ears.  And he may surprise you.  He is not as dumb as he appears.

Now Atri, with his dreams will go wandering off into the dark.  Several things could happen; he could get mugged, or he could come to himself and find his way back to the Anchor, or and this is how I envision it.  He finds something of Keelin's. A piece of cloth, maybe her sword, or something like that lying in the streets.  He becomes worried, goes back to you and tells you all.  That is when Gararion tells you about Grunk's offer of knowing the city well.  You then persuade him to guide you around the city to try and find Keelin.

The persuasion does not mean threating him.  Use other means, such as bribing, or offering him barrels of Brown, which he loves.  Threating him would only cause him to become beligerent and then you would be forced to kill him, and then you would never find her.

Gar, your character is good. And you play him well.  But you also are bordering on Godhead, you always cannot find something or someone using magic.  There must be some flaws in your character and his powers.

I hope I am not offending anyone.  I just want you to understand how a story works.  I am sure you all have read some story or another.  Did all of the characters in your books know what the other characters were doing or thinking all the time?  No, they had to discover it out.  You as a reader knew, just as you know about this story, but the characters did not know, and neither should your characters know until you discover it somehow or someway.

Thanks for listening.  If you put my advice to work in all of your rping, you may be surprised at how rich and colorful your writing can become.

Atrii could find something of Keelin's... but couldn't Atrii just go off looking for her on his own... when worried I doubt Atrii would wait and tell the others rather than running and searching on his own(his is a ranger after all)

Tell me if that's ok then I'll do it, if not I'll think of something else.

and as far as KNOWING he has information he reallyt doesent just a hunch of his like a cop ^_^;; lol

Ok well Damien why am I leading yet am 'probably' the youngest player here? because out of everyone accept oscar I have been here the longest I don't have the highest post count because i just kinda hung loose for awile but yes I am the veteran player ^_^,

NOTE:Shaint is the youngest character also heh, but he's different so get used to it....not really a leader anyway he depends on everyone in his party for support on everything.

Ok, Luci.  I will try and carry Bobbo.

Atrii, I think your suggestion is fine.  It goes along with his character.  However once you discover they have gone underground, you may, though it depends upon your character, want to go back and get the others.

Shaint, even Elven ears are not going to be able to listen through all of the loud din and conversations going on in a very boisterous tavern, could they?  I am not sure.

Oscar I gotta question, Would it affect the stories plan alot if Shaint Changed dramaticly? because you know how he was when he started and now I think I wanna change him for a little while to put him in the shadows as a 'loner' sort like he used to be, but don't worry he would come back and You know help save the day.....well not untill they find Keelin then he might have to kill some people >D :lol

Title: Re: Oscar!

No, Shaint not at all.  In fact it would add depth to the story.  After all like we, our characters have to have some flaws.  Some are more prominent than others, but we all have flaws.  And if your character was a loner and struggles against that, that would be the reason why you try so hard to be a hero.

It is a good character motivation.

Has anyone noticed Keelin spends large portions of this story unconcious? (Well that was mostly my fault, but hey.)

For all you non theatre geeks Tech wekk means, I will most likely not be back till this weekend. I will try to get on during the week, but it might be hard. I shall now make my post, and if Keelin is needed somewhere during the week and I'm not here, Oscar may delegate her part to whoever wants it. (So long as I get her back later. ^.-)

Break a leg, Keelin.  Don't worry.  The boys can fun running around the city until you come back.:D    Damien will have fun feeling your body.:p

Luci it seems that you have gotten a handle on how a jealous suitor would react.  Are you going to continue with Bobbo?  I wonder where he is?  Does anyone know?

The ride to the Tears will take most of the night.  The tears is huge oasis that is only known by the Tristan, his followers, and some desert nomads.  It has been the Tristan's home away from home for at least two years.  It is surrounded by sixty odd palm trees that have men in them that can spy out the land and see if anyone is coming for leagues all around.

As for the continuing with Bobbo... he has kind of dissapeared, and Luci is very insecure right now... she just dosn't show it, she still cares very much for him but her doubts is pushing him away.

Hey guys don't you ever read the posts.  I wrote that Nob slid Keelin's sword in the shadows.  That is what I assumed you would find.  Not a piece of her shirt.  We didn't even touch her, it was a well placed blow upon the back of her head.

Oh, well  I suppose the damage is already done.

I am so sorry for being gone so long. I have unexpectedly had a great deal of responsibilities thrown on me. I suppose being in 5 performing music groups, a drama group, and designing 4 different websites doesn't give a lot of time. Plus I have to practice all my instruments and I'm taking classes at a local campus as well.

Wow Bobbo!  that is alot of runing around.  What do you play?  I sing, but it is usually in church.  I sing alot of solo's and sing for special meetings we have in our church.  I also sing for other churches when they ask me to, for their special meetings.  I also give motivational speeches, when given the chance.  Which lately has been increasing, both my singing engagements and preaching and motivational engagements.

Anyway welcome back.  I hope you didn't mind Luci and I playing you.  And that you can follow the story line and pick up from there.

Gararion means acoustic (for anyone who's like me and stared at the word for 20 minutes trying to figure out what he meant).

I actually only know that we are in Damien's "palace" underground. Other than that...

I play flute, cello, string bass, piano/keyboard, percussion (jimbay, tambourine, rain stick, congos, bongos), and drum set. Ironic isn't it Lucirina, :lol  , I'm the only guy floutist I know. :rollin

Another thing that is ironic is that I play in church too, Oscar. I play percussion for the contemporary band, as well as offertories on my other instruments.

I'm in a big band with the flute, A string orchestra with the cello and string bass, percussion in worship band, and drum set in a band me and my friends are making. I think that's it :lol  Oh! I also synthesize and write my own pieces.

Ironically again, Oscar, I'm going to become a pastor as well, though probably a music pastor, then maybe later on a preacher. You guys are a lot like me! :lol  AAAHH!! Not another me!!! :D

What is a flautist?  Do you mean flutist?  Ah, yes that would be a smart guy.  Only if he was good enough and his ego would allow him to be outplayed by a girl.  Most guys in my era could not handle that.  I played trumpet, in marching band and then jazz band.

Bobbo you sure do have alot on your plate.  Hey Gar did you know Wren is looking for a guitarist to play for her, she has a gig comming up and needs one.  Oh, wait, you are in Canada, she is in England.  I guess that won't work, oh well.  I hope she finds a guitarist.  She has a beautiful voice and I would like to see her get that gig.

Hey how many have you seen Nashville Star?  I think that the girl that sang "Heartbreak Hotel" should have been voted off, and not the one that was.  "Heartbreak Hotel is not a country song.

Shaint, good luck to you and your family on your move.

I am not sure about who carries Shaint.  We could make him go mad, and disappear for awhile, or someone else needs to write for him.  I already have a full plate.  Maybe you Atri, or Rad, maybe you could do it.  In the meantime I think that maybe Gararion should take over the leadership of the company, or Atri.  It is up to you guys.  Even Rad or Raoneth, or even Keelin, once she is rescued.  I have no qualms about anyone taking over Shaint's position, temporarily.  However 2-4 months,  This story will be finished.  I believe by then.  But then again who knows.

I myself will be gone for the second week in April.  Writers conference I will be at, in the Catskills, mountains, that is, retreat of some sort.

Luci:p   Interesting.

Atrii and Rad-  I was waiting for you to post your impressions of the scene you are in, before I began round three.  Tell me what is the scene you are in?

This is what you should be in. You are in complete darkness, the path you were following has now been blocked off, water is rising rapidly, and you should be able to hear scratching and squeaking noises of hundreds of rats heading your way.  I have not seen any posts of you guys, describing your feelings, nor your actions concerning this predictament you are in.  That is what I was waiting for, before I posted the arrows flying which would be round three of the Thousand stings of Confusion.

Just out of curiosity; are there a thousand rounds in this "thousand screams of confusion" or whatever?

But it was the scene in withc Rao discovers his powers, should be long and dramatic, shouldn't it? 8)

No Rao no thousand rounds.  A thousand arrows or better, though.

I hope you all researched Krakenweed and what it can do to a body.  Though you will not die from it because of the small size, enough of it in you will cause you to become numb and slow down your reaction times and even make you hallucinate.

Say did Bobbo disappear again?

- I read it's description on the site. Rao is aware that the poison won't hurt him, but the arrows might... How big are they compaired to e.g. Rao's palm?

Title: Re: sorry
Post by: Gararion on March 28, 2003, 01:46:22 AM
I would think they would be half of your body length roughly.  I look at a arrow of a regular person, being half if not longer than ones upper body.  Thus I take it the brownie arrows would comapre, but only compare to brownie size.

Maybe I am wrong.... :\

Title: Re: sorry
Post by: Oscar Lotus on March 28, 2003, 02:03:22 AM
Ok, Luci I will post for Bobbo, I hope I get it right.:D

Brownie arrows for an brownie would be the same size as if a human were pulling an arrow on a human.  If that makes any sense?"

In other words if a human were shot with an arrow, he would be wounded or even killed.  Same thing with a brownie being shot with a brownie arrow.  Understand?

For example, Gararion used his magic as a shield and blew a bunch of arrows back to the ceiling.  Well some of those arrows hit some of the rat brownies.  Some will be wounded, some will die.  As you will see in my post.

That will make Leetah very very angry:evil   Gar.

Well think about it Rad.  These tunnels are the Rat Brownies only home.  I believe it was once calculated that a thousand of these little guys could easily live in just a third of the space of all the tunnels under Strata.  I believe that more could, so you do the math.  So when I say hundreds of arrows fill the air, I literaly mean hundreds of arrows.  To put it in perspective, if you have ever been outside in the summer, when gnats are flying all over the place, they look like a small dark cloud, and they get in your eyes, mouth, hair, and everyplace else.  Well that is the picture of what is happening in the tunnels.  But these little arrows have Krakenweed soaked arrow tips.  Research Krakenweed, and you will get the idea of what Leetah is trying to do to you all.:p

I'm going to try and make it here more often, like everyday. I try to make at least a quick post each day from now on, or at least every other day. Sorry again, and sorry in case this happens again.

I'm unsure how many books he has written but aren't they all related to Shannara? Really cool books though, I believe my aunt has read them all. I've read bits of them but never the whole thing. Will probably pick up one of the books on my next visit to the library.

Salvatore or less likely Michel A. Stackpole  these guys are my favs soooo, check 'em out.:D

Hi there, anyone miss me?

Bobbo, glad to see you back.  You come back when I was gone.  Hopefully we can be on at the same time from now on.:D

Gar, the first book written by Terry Brooks was the Sword of Shannara, It is a fascinating series.  I have read all of the books written by him.  He was considered when the Sword of Shannara came out as a pioneer in the sword and sorcery genre after J.R.R.  Sword was published in 1977 I think.  Anyway very good writer.  Another author I would recommend would be David Eddings, and the Belgararion series, where I thought that is where you got your name from Gar, I may be wrong, but that is what I thought.

Well lets get this story moving shall we?  I need to reread the posts and see where we are.

Yep Oscar!

Hey, anybody read Robert Jordon's The Wheel of Time series? It is a very interesting fantasy book series. The man used pretty much no common fantasy things and made up his own (at least as far as I know) races and elements.

'... Always after a defeat and a respite, the Shadow takes another shape and grows again.' (Gandalf)

'I wish it need not have happened in my time,' said Frodo.

'So do I,' said Gandalf, 'and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us . . .'

But Oscar I do believe that there is a novel, being "The First King of Shannara" that was written after as a novel that took place before "Swords of Shannara"

My name...it came from my head.  I don't do much reading.

Ya making up entire worlds seems such an awesome task.  That is why I'm always so amazed at Stackpole's novels (the ones not in established series that is)  he just makes an entire new world for one or two  books, its insane!:eek    But still impossibly cool.:b

EDIT: Oscar if you want Leetah to capture Raoneth, if its ok with him, when we enconter Damien's men I could accidently drop him or something.   Also should we establish contact with them or will you handle that?

Gar, Brooks did not write First King of Shannara until way after the Shannara series was out.  The Belgararion series by Eddings is a very good series you should check it out.  The hero of the story is a boy, named Gararion.  That is why I thought you named your character after him.  Sorry I was wrong.

Rad, Raoneth would have to ok it.  Do not worry I am driving you all to a special place where Damien's men are waiting.

Keelin, mmmm.

Shaint your going to have to fight for her!!:rollin   But you can't kill him!!  And you have to be patient.  Soon my friend you and Damien will meet.>:

Ok, Shaint and the others,  The plot now thickens a bit, I want you all to find your way, by the lighted torches into Damien's palace.  To help you describe it, think of it as an enormous brick cavern, it has stone floors, tables and chairs all around.  Except where Damien is.  His floor is like a huge dais, upon which black carpet is covering it.  His throne chair is overtly large, but rather unadorned.   The table upon which he and Keelin are at is to the left of his throne chair.  It is a table that is set with a clean table cloth, the finest dishes, wine and food.  It is a table meant for Damien and his special guests, whoever that may be.  Right now it is Keelin.

Nahor is standing off in the shadows,  There are many secret exits and entrances into and out of the palace.  Some that only Damien knows about.  There are approximately a dozen male servants and about a half dozen of female ones doing Damien's bidding.  Their quarters along with his mother's, is off to the right of the throne chair.

I think that is all you need to know to describe what you see when you enter his palace.

Once you enter, just follow my lead, ok?

Shaint, no killing, maiming, or anything until I say so.

Now for Bobbo and Lucirina,  After a short brief stay at the tears, and somemore fun and games;)   Qui after much thought decides to go look for Rhas.  He thinks it was her that caused Oscar's supposedly demise(will talk about that later, if you read the Thirsty Heralds thread, you will notice that Oscar has returned.)

Anyway to continue, Lucirina forces Qui to take him and Lord Bobbo, I am not sure how you want to handle your character, you can either decide to come with us and some of Qui's best men, including (what's his name, I forget his name at the moment, the one that was going to teach Luci how to throw the knives.)  Or you can stay and help the Tristan prepare for the assault upon Strata.

I think that is all for now.  If any of you have any ideas, comments, or suggestions I am open to them.  Please write them down. Ok?

I say "Ride on!" lets go on with the story as well as we can.  If we cannot do exactly what Oscar planned, well that comes with the territory.  So we can get the Damien and such codes from our goodly wizard Gararion.  I would have thought Shaint would have known at least some of the storyline.  I think we can keep this going with some effort people!

Yess I do know some, however only the basics Oscar did it all, I had an idea well not really mine but I talked with Gararion and Keelin but why doesent everybody just say what the would like to do in the story as for the next sequence and we will take that all into concideration add some cool,

"Freeze thou shalt not pass!" stuff and make it a storyline that way everyone gets to do 'kinda' what they want and we get a fun story.

I know I wanna kill Damien........

Well, I haven't even been following the paralell storylines too mutch so I'd be of very little help. I think it's very possible that we'll have to consider this story doomed and just find a way to tie up the loose ends and be gone...

But we do need to do that, though, I've written too much on this for it to be for naught.

Title: Re: GAH!
Post by: Radaroc on April 29, 2003, 06:17:22 AM
How about this, "In a quick a brutal fight to the death, Shaint defeats Damien without a problem.  In a mad dash throught the city our heros triumph over all comers, who attack them for the bounty on their heads.  Fighting through the tower they reach the Authorities, kill them.  Reinstate Bobbo and the Tristan.  All the members of the party a richly rewarded, expecially Radaroc, (and not just because of his dashing good looks!) our heros then trade emails and addresses, promise to keep in touch and go their sepreate ways.  And Shaint gets slapped after keeping "in touch" with Keelin.
THE END"

LOL!

Uhm... well I think that's the basic idea, but we might want to... erm... spread it out some.

Breathe Radaroc, breathe. ^.-

Bobbo, Luci I dearly hope one of you has some sort of idea where Oscar was taking your side of the story because it appears the rest of us don't. I'm not even sure where you guys are right now. :(

Okay, so our basic goals are: kill Damien, get out of the sewer, get out of the city, meet up with the Tristans group, and then get rid of Troas somehow, correct? I think we can deal with that.

I don't suffer from insanity... I enjoy every minute of it!

Title: Re: GAH!
Post by: Raoneth on April 29, 2003, 08:01:22 PM
The other alternative: Damien (and his horde of goons and brownes. Don't forget the horde of goons and brownies) attack and we, by some twist of fate, manage to escape...

We tell the town guard that there are lots of criminals in the sewers, they've been bribed by Damien and the gang, so they try to kill us and we run away.

Or we trade Keelin for our freedom and run away, that'll be the realistic option :p

'Tis a very sad thing that Oscar has gone. Very well, Lucirina I believe that I can take his place on our side of the story if it is okay with you. Besides, it kinda would make sense, me being the nobleman and all. :lol  Go ahead and take over Qui, because it would make me sick to play the character my girl is cheating on me with. :lol  :lol  :lol  . Tell me if you have any ideas now. I'd like to meet up with the others soon, because two people on a storyline doesn't always work.

'... Always after a defeat and a respite, the Shadow takes another shape and grows again.' (Gandalf)

'I wish it need not have happened in my time,' said Frodo.

Ok Bobbo what I was thinking was, once we get past Damien (shouldn't take too much longer) we go through the sewers and eventually pop out near the harbor.  You get the Tristan's group and such heading toward Strata.  As we flee Troas's army/murderous citizens, you guys come to our rescue.  Then we head back to Strata, we besiege, chaos ensues.  Our group, you, Luci, and Qui or somebody head in to take out Troas.  The fire druid shows up Luci takes her down.  We get to Troas.....aaaand like that.

So what do ya all think?

*crawls out of the dark corner she has been hiding in for many days now*

Can you tell me Rad.. how is Luci, a simple bard, going to kill Rhas that deep fried her own master.
Ok.. she mannaged to take on Issrah but that was only due to the element of suprise and probably the magic in the fortress also had something to do with that.
She would probably get VERY killed if she even tried to get close ro Rhas

About Luci and Qui... I am not good in romancing with myself :p  but IŽll try as good as I can.. IŽve been kind of down lately and  that is the main reason why I haven't been posting....

w00t!  It was kickin' my friend.  The first band sucked(really they had 5 songs and only sang in 2 of them), but it was local so what can you expect.  The second band were some guys from Wisconsin called Last Place Champs (bought a button) they had one of the best guitarists I've heard in a looong time.  Then MxPx showed and the real moshing began.  Got a big bruise on my arm but it was worth it!  Also for the first time I went crowd surfing, holy hotcakes batman that kicked ass.:smokin   Got some more buttons and a patch, my friends got their shoes and wallet signed by MxPx, so Chris (huge MxPx fan) was twitching the rest of the night.   So there ya go my night summerized.:lol

Use photoshop, open the picture, resize it using [edit-image size] and then click [file - save for web]
Select JPG from the "format" drop down menu and experiment with the "blur" and "compression" settings until you reach the desired combination of good looks and filesize. Click "ok" and there you have it...

My avatar is a good example of a gif. It has transparancy and animation but it's limited to 256 colours. My avatar is even less.

Try to get a hold of Paint shop pro or search around for some freeware on the net. You need a program to make good gifs and jpgs

Er, if it's a problem with getting past Damien (if it is... I'm not updatet onj the story right now) me or Gararion could probably do a little trick with his mind and we'd be on our way.

I dunno what we're waiting for. Whaz-her-name, the brownie chick wants to take over, so she's not tellin' Damien anything and her brownies (possibly) won't attack us.

Shaint wants to kill Damien, the rest of us just want to leave with all our body parts intact...
