You approach a two storey high large building made of grey stone, the size of its establishment seemingly odd and out of place in such a small village as Eresh. It was unmistakable where the main entrance was, what with a luxuriant looking purple banner with gold-trimmed edges draped over the sturdy wooden door way. The banner reads, in stylized gold letters: “The Regal Rusik Tavern and Lodge”.

The heavy door creaks and groans in protest as you push it open and step into The Regal Rusik. The common area is spacious with a circular arrangement of a good number of tables and chairs, patrons of all sorts and sizes sitting at their tables. Most of them were clearly not from the immediate locality. The tavern maids were all young and lithe, pleasing to the eye and polite to the patrons, ferrying orders to and fro the kitchen in a very efficient manner.

At the corner of the common area immediately to your left, you notice a counter that designates the bar area. Next to the bar area is a flight of stairs leading up to the second floor. A middle-aged portly-looking woman with a short crop of dark brown curls stands behind the counter, furiously scribbling away on a pad on the counter top. Standing there besides her you notice a young boy, probably not more than 13, sorting out various bottles and jugs under the counter.

She had taken a long walk that night, clearing her thoughts. It was a good feeling, a feeling of freedom and it felt good. As her legs began to grow weary, she took a seat outside the tavern, wrapping her cloak tightly about her form and allowed herself the rest that her body craved. Her mind wandered to the past, making her relive the moment her parents were known to have disappeared. Once again she could not tear herself from the dream, makin her panic. Tears staining her cheeks as she fought to regain consciousness but failed.

As the first rays of the sun rose to touch the cool earth, she opened her eyes, stirring from her position, to her feet. Walking to where she could see the sun clearly, she began to sing her morning vespers. Slowly and quietly, allowing her voice to gradually fill the town in her beckoning of the sun. It was a soft voice, gentle and soothing. One that filled a soul with cheer for the oncoming day.

Touch the mountains
Tentative light
Blend the clouds with gold
And gently disturb the dreams of night

Welcome daybreak
Fill the silence with
Songs of the birds
LIft the sky-lantern to the sound of
Music the swells without singers or words

Welcome morning
Fire of dawn, light of the day
Warming the world with your glow
Awaken again we, your children
Who, chanting we aubade, know
That we have welcomed the sunrise.

Once she had finished, she made her way back to the tavern and waited for Roland.

((OOC: To not drag this out to much, I shall post multiple questions at once and I shall say what Roland’s actions are between these. Roland has a lot of Questions and I do not wish to bore anyone, so that is why I do this. If it’s not ok with you just say so. Depending on what you say Roland is probably going to ask a lot of questions.))

The Day before had been a grueling one indeed and the night provided Roland with his much needed sleep. Roland rose from his bed and gave a nice sized stretch to bring a final end to the rest he had just finished. It was a nice deep slumber, like one he had not had in quite a while. In a calm manner Roland gathered his stuff and began getting ready for the day ahead, when Roland managed to look at the window in his room. There was far to much light, he had woken up much latter than he had intended, he never slept that late. Walking to the window to confirm his fear, Roland looked out towards the sky. The sun had already rose and Roland was now late, he had planed earlier to get there before her, but now he was sure that he wouldn’t be doing that.

Roland finished preparing for the day and left his room and departed the Tavern, paying everything else in the Tavern no head what so ever. Once outside Roland looked around watching for Kalina, spotting her outside just as they had agreed Roland walked slowly over to her and leaned up against the Tavern’s out side wall. Roland didn’t say anything for a little, giving her the chance to formulate any thoughts that she had. Roland leaned against the tavern wall, with his arms crossed, one leg hiked up against the wall and the other strait to the ground. Roland tried to give off an appearance of being calm and just enjoying the morning, but in reality he was getting everything in line, figuring out what to say and what not to.

Roland’s hood was currently down and he reached up and brushed his hair back with his hand, just a nervous twitch of Roland’s, some thing he did when he was thinking, worried or just nervous. “I hope my tardiness has not unconvinced you at all, I am not used to such peaceful and comfortable sleeping accommodations.” Roland looked over at her to catch her reaction to his remark. “And I hope your night was as good and restful as mine.” Roland waited for her response before speaking further. “So if the offer is still valid, what is this information you have offered me.” Roland paused for a couple of seconds then spoke up once again, “Any information you could give me would be a tremendous help.” Roland had a lot of questions he had to ask, many of which he might not ask, but it would depend on the answers he received. Roland stared in to Kalina’s eyes like a young child desiring to learn and wishing to know it all.

((OOC: My dear Roland. I adore long posts. Make them as long as you please. The longer the better I always say. Details are so much funner to read!!!))

Kalina watched with extreme amusement as Roland rushed out the door to find her waiting for him. A smile touched the corner's of her lips as she watched him shakily brush his hair from his face.

“I hope my tardiness has not unconvinced you at all, I am not used to such peaceful and comfortable sleeping accommodations.”
“And I hope your night was as good and restful as mine.”

This made her smile even more so as she watched him, studied him carefully.
"Tardy? Not at all. I do not believe that many of the others have gotten as far as to open their eyes."She chuckled. "I was just up to sing and my night was indeed restful."

“So if the offer is still valid, what is this information you have offered me.”
“Any information you could give me would be a tremendous help.”

Kalina nodded, "The offer is still valid...but..."
She cut off in mid sentence eyeing Roland...his next statement bothered her somewhat. Ignore it. Just tell him so you can get it done and over with.

"I hope you do not mind me asking a few questions of my own," her smile soon disappated. "You see, I do not just give out information like there is no tomorrow."

She wasn't going to give him something he seemed to want so badly just for him to misuse it. Not that she wanted anything in return but something told her...something told her she should do it this way.

"Let us walk as we converse. That should help you in keeping the information straight."

"Tardy? Not at all. I do not believe that many of the others have gotten as far as to open their eyes." "I was just up to sing and my night was indeed restful."

This made Roland feel slightly better, he never cared for being late and when it was because of him over sleeping, well that was just shameful for Roland. He’d wished he had heard her singing though. His over sleeping was surely to blame for that. If he had only of awoken at his normal time, before sunrise, then he surely would not have missed such a blessing as that must have been, but he did miss it and for that he kicked him self mentally, a nice hard kick. It pleased Roland to know that she had a restful night also, thought he told him self he didn’t care, “only being nice for appearances, that’s it.” Roland told him self trying to bring him self back to his comfort zone, terrified that he would be confronted with a hard choice down the line of money or person. Roland’s greatest fear, the choice of friendship or riches both of which he craves, both of which he needs and both of which are a must for ultimate goal. Often times they countered each other. Roland did not get what small pile of riches he has now through caring, helping or anything of the such, but at the same time, he was only one man and couldn’t do it all by him self and no matter how many times he tried to convince him self other wise, he craved social interaction with others and it was a must for his sanity.

"The offer is still valid...but..." She stopped and looked at Roland, possibly something was bothering her. Roland was not sure what if anything at all, but it seemed to him that there was something bothering her.

"I hope you do not mind me asking a few questions of my own," "You see, I do not just give out information like there is no tomorrow."

“Damn. I knew this was to easy.” Roland let out a sight of disappointment. He had known that something was up and had wondered why she would give such information, and now he would figure it out, he was sure of it. Was she after something? Or did she just want to make sure his intentions where pure? Either way he was in trouble. Roland had simple enough goals, revenge, pure and simple, but if she was checking his intentions this would not look good for him. If she was to even know that he was after the reward mainly there might be problems. He would have to watch him self very carefully now and watch what he said, if he lied it must be believable, if she was to see through him he may be stuck with out any information. Roland desired highly to just tell the truth, to tell her that he wants the money for revenge that he wishes to use it to bring death to someone, this would make things very simple, but would he get anywhere from doing so, Roland thought not. To make matters worse, Roland was never a good actor or liar; he was good at sneaking, stealing and all things of such, but not lying. “Tread carefully Roland, very carefully.”

"Let us walk as we converse. That should help you in keeping the information straight." Roland smiled a fake smile and nodded at Kalina, then turned and started walking in compliance with her request. “I can understand your reluctance to give information so willingly, and I have nothing to hide there fore you can ask all of me you wish.” Roland said as he walked slowly, allowing Kalina to lead the way to where ever.

Thoughts, fears, questions and all kinds of other things run through Roland’s head as he awaits questions from Kalina. He had so many questions to ask, some about the princess and others to satisfy his curiosity about her, but he would wait, she wished to ask questions of him first, so be it.

((OOC: Me tired of colors for the moment. Going back to just plain neutral colors.))

“I can understand your reluctance to give information so willingly, and I have nothing to hide there fore you can ask all of me you wish.”

She nodded and continued to walk by his side, hood still covering from the night before. She was reluctant to remove it but found no harm in doing so. Cautiously she reached and pulled the hood back, allowing her hair to glisten in the new light of the day. A deep sigh escaped her lips as she enhaled deeply, the sweet scent of cool damp air of a fresh morning. It was something she loved and could never get enough of before the sun took it away in its heat.

She really didn't know more than anyone else about the princess, the reward or anthing of that sorts. Neither did she care that much. The answer that she would receive from Roland would be what she expected from the start but to ask him face to face and receive an answer from his mouth was the best way to get things moving. "I would like to know why you are on this 'quest'? If you tell me it is for the money, I do not care for that is why most are doing it, because they will get paid."

She would, most likely, not like his answer but it was to be expected. Fortune, glory, and revenge hunters alike were searching for hte missing princess.

As Roland walks with Kalina, she removes her hood once again revealing her full beauty for the world and Roland alike to see. Roland tried not to look at her, he had no idea what kind of questions would be asked of him and what kind of responses he would need to deliver in reply, and he did not want anything to influence his answers. As it was Roland had a weakness for women but now he required information.

"I would like to know why you are on this 'quest'? If you tell me it is for the money, I do not care for that is why most are doing it, because they will get paid."

Why, the question Roland feared the most. Normally he would have no problem giving out such information; he was not shy about his dealings in the slightest. Roland feared loosing this chance at information. There is no real harm in not telling her everything, but he still desired to be free of this charade, he never was good at acting. In his old guild he would always anger his Guild leader, due to his results in disguise and acting. “I enjoy a good exercise of the mind, ones mind shall wither if not used. It is always a must to keep skills sharp along with the mind also.” Roland paused for a second and pondered if he really should say what he was about to say, “As for the reward, I do desire it. It is a strong factor in my coming here and why do I desire it so? I believe that is what you are seeking from me?” Roland let out a slight sigh the spoke, “Simply enough I desire revenge, more over justice, for what was done to my parents.” Roland looked strait ahead and his sight did not veer, “Other than that I do not wish to discuses further, if you well pardon my rudeness.” Roland said in a low bothered tone, his past obviously being a source of great pain for him.He wondered if he had made a mistake, if now he would not receive this information she had promised him, but it mattered not, he would find it else where if she didn’t help him.

“So,” Roland quickly changed the subject, “Is that you had wish to know? Does that leave me worthy of this information you carry in your head?” Roland continues walking on, his mouth almost watering in anticipation of receiving information that may lead to the Princess, more over the reward that follows.

((OOC: Totally re did my post, didn’t like It, it wasn’t like Roland the first time, that’s if anyone even saw it.))

“As for the reward, I do desire it. It is a strong factor in my coming here and why do I desire it so? I believe that is what you are seeking from me?”
“Simply enough I desire revenge, more over justice, for what was done to my parents.”
“Other than that I do not wish to discuses further, if you well pardon my rudeness.”
“So,”
“Is that you had wish to know? Does that leave me worthy of this information you carry in your head?”

Kalina bowed her head in response to his words. She was not bothered but his words as if she found his intentions unhonorable but she had, sadly, found a connection with the man. With her parents disappearance 33 years ago, her life had been out of her control it seemed. Her brother's disappearance this year continued the feeling but now, this time, she was old enough to actually do something about it.
"I have no response to your announcement, milord. Your search for wealth and revenge is not uncommon nor is it unhonorable for its intentions. Please, you are not being rude, you just do not wish to disclose personal things that I have no right to know."Her voice was soft and understand. A tone that told him that she knew his pain, she is suffering from it as well but there was nothing she could do about her past. No revenge she could take, nothing...

She sighed before taking a deep breath to continue, "The information you shall need for the search. Very little but I believe that what I have is vital. There is an old man. I do not know his name for he did not disclose it to me but he seemed to be of importance to the search for the elf Valannia and her guards were looking for him." She paused, trying to contain her thoughts and give him the best information she could. "I am going to search for the man, perhaps he will help you in what you need to know."

There was a long pause, Kalina dug deep for other things. She had been able to over hear a couple of the conversations, at least bits and pieces of them. All she had to do now was to fight to recall them. "I overheard the name Thaetum. I believe that he could be of help and I belive he lives in the Shivering Wood. Perhaps we can go searching for the old man there as well." Kalina began to tremble slightly and her mentioning of the woods. Though being a wood elf, the Shivering Wood was a place that she would not readily step foot in it. "Another couple is making their way to the woods. Also searching for the man. I do not know much about the others." She hoped what she had given him was good enough. It was meager but it would help him in his search.

Arggosh slowly walks along the road, many people in the past few hours have stared at him as he walks past but he is used to it.   Finally he reaches the Tavern he has heard about. Nodding to the people outside he slowly enters the doorway and walks inside. He notices the bar to one side and walks towards it. 'Nice enough looking place' he thinks, looking at the barmaid.   "Do you have anything for breakfast?

Kalina bowed her head as a reply to Roland’s words, leaving Roland to believe that she highly disagrees with his reason. Roland’s mind started to search for a way to fix this or another path for Roland to take.

"I have no response to your announcement, milord. Your search for wealth and revenge is not uncommon nor is it unhonorable for its intentions. Please, you are not being rude, you just do not wish to disclose personal things that I have no right to know." Roland looked to Kalina as she spoke. Not only had she caught Roland off guard and surprised him greatly but she seemed to understand, maybe a bit to well, as if she understood because she has felt the same pain. This made Roland extremely curious and anxious to dig further, already scenarios started running through his head where he was trying to figure out what, if anything, she has gone through, but feeling that this was something to be left to another time Roland decided he would leave it alone, for now.

"The information you shall need for the search. Very little but I believe that what I have is vital. There is an old man. I do not know his name for he did not disclose it to me but he seemed to be of importance to the search for the elf Valannia and her guards were looking for him."
“I am going to search for the man, perhaps he will help you in what you need to know."
"I overheard the name Thaetum. I believe that he could be of help and I belive he lives in the Shivering Wood. Perhaps we can go searching for the old man there as well."
"Another couple is making their way to the woods. Also searching for the man. I do not know much about the others."

“Wonderful an elf and her guards.” Roland thought to him self, but not only were there guards looking for this man but another group also looking for him. Who ever this man was he sure did seem to be a key man to look for. “Thaetum.” Roland told him self in an attempt to remember the name. As Kalina reviled this information she seemed to be searching for it and Roland wondered how much of it was just bits and pieces. She seemed to also be looking for this Thaetum, why was something that eluded Roland and before continuing on Roland had some questions that he felt he must ask.

Roland stopped walking and looked at Kalina, “Why?” Roland said with out finishes his statement completely then he sighed and spoke again, “Why are you helping me, you said you had no interest in my quest, leaving me to believe you do not desire wealth and even so I have offered none. And now you say you are looking for this Thaetum, why are you looking for him?” Roland stood looking at Kalina with an extremely confused face, as his thirst for knowledge ate at him from in side like a termite with in his wooden soul. Curiosity was always a weakness of Roland’s and if he didn’t stop it from eating away at him sooner or latter it would devour him completely.

Roland waited until she was able to answer his question before continuing on then he spoke up once again, “Ok Milady, now I think it’s obvious that this Thaetum is the key, at least for now. My question for you now is, how is it we are to find him. You said he lives in the woods, are we to go prancing around the woods until we stumble across his house or do you have a better Idea?” Roland paused for a second then spoke up once again, “If you don’t have any idea where to find him, we could always look for this Elf and her guards. Under employment of them we could surely find out more, surely they know plenty as it is.” Roland had a slight uneasiness in his voice as he spoke. Surely due to his past he was a wanted man in some places, but he had doubt that it would of traveled to here, even if it had he had doubt that any one would recognize him. Roland brushed his hair back then crossed his arms, “I have no ideas other than this, have you?”

Roland spoke in assumptions that Kalina would be along with him in his search, this was his way of offering for her to come along, and if not he figured he would be corrected.

@Arggosh:

((OOC: Try not to assume that there is a bar/tavern maid around whenever you need one ... it might not be so. But for today, there is.))

The tavern had just opened its doors on a new day not too long ago, and there was only a single tavern maid wiping the tables inside the common area. She was the first one to arrive, and she had a happy expression on her face, whistling a soft tune to herself. Being that it was market day today, the tavern had only a couple of patrons sitting by their lonesomes having an early drink.

As Arggosh walked in the tavern maid raised her head. A troll. They didn't usually get trolls as patrons, but trolls dropping by weren't odd either. Ever since the disappearance of the Princess, men of all manners from all corners of the land had flooded to Eresh. She was not alarmed nor surprised to see a troll, and most villagers wouldn't be either.

"Do you have anything for breakfast?"

With a pleasant smile on her face, the tavern maid replied, "Why of course, Milord, and good morn to you! Why don't you take a seat," she gestured towards one of the empty tables, "And let me take your order for the morning?"

"Ok, Thank you." Arggosh says to the maid turning and moves towards the closest table, He does however ignore the chairs placed there and sits on the floor. 'I've seen worse put together chiars and more solid looking ones. I think I'll avoid it for now, If I get a bad name here I might not get out in one piece.   I might not make it out the forest in one peice anyway and my hide heals quick, but still.'

@Arggosh:

((OOC: NP, no harm done.))

The tavern maid was surprised when Arggosh proceeded to sit on floor instead of in one of the chairs. She hasn't encountered that sort of behaviour before.  "M ... Milord? Why don't you make yourself comfortable in one of the chairs instead of the dusty tavern floor?" She smiled cheerfully, "The chairs here are sturdy enough, everything in the Rusik is of the best! But if you think the chair is going to be a little cramped for you Milord, perhaps you would like me to go fetch a wide bench for you from the kitchen?"

((OOC: Hey Rolie. Sorry it has taken me so long. I have been kinda out of it and too exhausted to think. Will do better to keep up though. I made a few minor changes in my post and fixed yours accordingly. It was only in what I had said, nothing on your part. Just to let ya know. :) ))

“Why?”
“Why are you helping me, you said you had no interest in my quest, leaving me to believe you do not desire wealth and even so I have offered none. And now you say you are looking for this Thaetum, why are you looking for him?”

Kalina forced a smile and turned to face him, "Your quest is for money and revenge. Mine is not. I have run into a seemingly dead end in my own personal search have need a change. I shall help you in anyway I can. It may not be much for I am not much of a fighter but I can use the sword." She patted her hilt on her hip. Her beloved Lírias, her mother's, given to her before her mother disappeared. "My abilities are used elsewhere and can be useful in extracting information."

She turned from him and continued walking only to stop once more as he spoke yet again. “Ok Milady, now I think it’s obvious that this Thaetum is the key, at least for now. My question for you now is, how is it we are to find him. You said he lives in the woods, are we to go prancing around the woods until we stumble across his house or do you have a better Idea?”
“If you don’t have any idea where to find him, we could always look for this Elf and her guards. Under employment of them we could surely find out more, surely they know plenty as it is.”

She pondered his proposition for a moment before turning to face him once more. "I suggest not looking for Thaetum, at least for now. Let us go in search of the elf Valannia and the guards. Perhaps we can sqeeze some information out of the group." She smiled mischieviously, but she still caught Roland's slight uneasiness and hesitation. "We shall be careful and plus,..." She cut off her sentence and turned away. He didn't need to know that yet. Mentally kicking herself for letting that slip. Not that it was a dark secret by many have heard her tell them of it and the questions have never ceased. I was a complicated ability and it couldn't be thrown around carelessly. "Let us begin our search for the elf and the guards. They willl most likely be of the most use to us at the moment."
