Upon exiting the perimeter of the village that marked the boudaries of Eresh, the vast wilderness lay unfolding in sight. Without a specific direction or location in mind, one would surely not know how or where to head, and having no idea where one would end up at.

You see armed guards clad in armour with the Kyranian coat of arms displayed prominently on their vests and flags, some on steeds and some seemingly patrolling on foot, as if they were keeping their eyes out for something or somebody.

Sephariath approached the outskirts of the village after a long and tiresome day, he took note of the figures patrolling and took caution approaching ever so slowly, his eyesight caught the waiving of materials in the air and he hoped it was a flag for he then knew he had reached a place where he would find shelter and food. His rations had been slowly disappearing from his travels and he knew he would be in need of a good bath and fresh fruits. But to what this new place offered he knew not, yet he proceeded to the entrance.....

The guards were growing tired of patrolling the village perimeter and having to question every single villager or traveller that went in and out of the village. Still, orders were orders, and questioning wasn't too hard a job anyway, it was just extremely dull and repetitive.

One of the guards spotted Sephariath approaching, and took a long suspicious look at him. He had never seen Sephariath before, but then again, newcomers to Eresh was nothing odd or new.

Stepping up towards Sephariath in his path, the guard barked out, "Halt! State your name, sir, and we would appreciate it if you would answer a few questions."

Sephariath was startled abruptly, then realized they must have been gaurds. He stopped moving and concentrated upon the figure infront of him, his milky white eyes slowly scanned around as he replied. " My name is Sephariath, what are these questions you are to ask of me?"

Sephariath stared towards the mans head, the small figure ontop his armored body; he could hear the clanging of metal once he approached him. He waited to answer to the jury.....

"My name is Sephariath, what are these questions you are to ask of me?"

The guard was a little taken aback when he noticed Sephariath's milky white eyes. He wondered if Sephariath was blind, but then again, Sephariath seemed to be making his way around just fine.

The guard approached Sephariath cautiously, "Your name, good sir? Are you a traveller, to Eresh? If so, have you met an old man on your way here, an aged, wizened old man, with a staff the colour of chrome?"

Sephariath, paused and wondered to himself why would they be looking for an old man, with a staff the color of chrome....to which he had no idea of how to depict even if he were to have seen him. Regardless he replied.

" You may call me a traveller if you will, but as for the old man with a chrome staff that you speak of, I have seen none travelling the way I had come. Even if I had seen the figure I would not be able to tell how old they were or what color their staff was unless they were to speak to me and tell me themselves; unfortunatly I cannot even see your face, just the outline of your head sir. I come here in search of new knowledge and experiences, though as for seeking someone in particular out I think I am of little use to you."

Sephariath glanced around again noting the figures and where they patrolled. He focused his eyes back upon the figure infront of him and nodded his head, and asked.

"But would you be able to give directions to a disadvantaged man, I am looking to get room and board; hopefully some tasty cooking as well......that is if you are done with me here?"

Sephariath straightened his stance out and awaited a responce from the gaurdsman....

The guard stood motionlessly as he listened to Sephariath's answer. Ah, so he's not blind, but he can't really see that well either. He nodded in response, "Our gratitude, good sir, for your assistance."

"But would you be able to give directions to a disadvantaged man, I am looking to get room and board; hopefully some tasty cooking as well......that is if you are done with me here?"

The guard wondered if Sephariath would be able to find his way to the tavern if he gave him directions, Sephariath didn't seem to be able to see too well. However, they were short on guards, and he was sure that the lieutanent in charge would not be too happy to spare a guard for the purpose of accompanying a lone traveller to the tavern. The guard hoped that Sephariath would be able to get to the tavern alright without someone to lead him there. "Keep going forward, good sir, until you come to a large blue banner with gold trimmings on a stone building to your left. You can't miss it, the building is the largest here, and the banner is eye-catching enough. There you will get food and shelter as long as you have the coins to pay for it. You may proceed into Eresh, good sir." He waved Sephariath on his way, and walked over to another villager for questioning.

Gradually she slowed her pace as she reached the gate, if it could be called as such. She noticed a man there talking with the guard. Hmm...perhaps I could be of assistance...or should I just continue onto the encampment?

Slowly she made her way over to them and talked with the guard. Upon her approach she examined the man closer, his eyes milkly as if they were blind or fairly close to blindness.

"Could I be of assistance?" she voice soft and gentle with a musical tone. Her hair flowing over her shoulders like a golden water fall, shimmering in the sun.

@Kalina & Sephariath:

Another guard stepped up towards Kalina as he saw her approach and speak to Sephariath. Everyone had to be questioned, no exceptions -- that was the order.

In a loud voice to Kalina, the guard spoke, "Halt! A moment of your time please, Milady, to answer a few questions."

She nodded, "As you wish. Ask whatever you care to,  I have nothing to hide." She glanced at the man and back to the guard. "What do you wish to know m'lord?"

@Kalina & Sephariath:

The guard looked at Kalina glancing at Sephariath, and wondered if they were together. But then he realized that didn't make much sense, since one was coming out from the village, while the other had just arrived, unless they had planned it from the beginning ... turning to Kalina, the guard asked the questions he had been instructed to, "This will but take a moment, Milady. Have you by any chance come upon an old man with a chrome staff along your way within the village, Milady?"

The old man at the Rusik...everyone is looking for him...Why is he so important? The guards question and surprised her for she had not expected such a question. "I....I have come upon such a man. Why does m'lord request such information?" She bowed her head humbly as she stumbled over her words. she cast a glance in the other man's direction, hopefully he would help her in this matter...she could not lie, it would be her downfall.

The words rang through Sephariaths' ears....perhaps she could be of some use to him, in either finding his way around for he could not be sure he would recognise a banner even if it were as elaborate as the gaurd had explained....or perhaps she could lead him to this notorious man, he was sure there had to be some sort of reward for this man.

"M'Lady, would you be of some assistance to me, the gaurd gave me wonderous directions to the inn, but alas I do not think myself able to recognise the banner. It would help me greatly, that is if you could spare a mere moment for myself?"

He slowly wandered near her and the gaurd and intentionally ignored him as if he hadn't seen him stepped inbetween...

"Is..is that you M'Lady? forgive me I just cannot tell"

Sephariath reached a hand out into thin air, but in Kalina's direction, feeling out for something to hold on to as a guide....

@Kalina & Sephariath:

The guard's eyes widened as he heard Kalina's answer. Narrowing his eyes, he continued to direct another question to Kalina, this time his tone firm and serious, "Your answer will aid the Royal Guards in apprehending this man, Milady. Prince Viginold has sent express orders to detain him, and the reasons are not privy to us nor the villagers. Where did you come across the old man, and where did you last see him venture to?"

Before Kalina could answer though, Sephariath had made his way between the guard and Kalina, and the guard muttered under his breath in annoyance. Blind men like him have no business wandering around! But acquiring the information about the old man was important, and he stood and waited for Kalina's answer.

Well then, she had stumbled on something rather odd...

Having made her way from the crowded village, she lowered her arm, that raven perched gently still, those eerie golden eyes glimmering in the light, as it chittered bitterly, nibbling on the fold of her cloak. She'd taken into the account, the man, as well as the elven woman, but her main attention was on the guard. Yes, something told her he was the one to question, although from the looks of it, he was the one doing most of the questioning. She'd caught something about an old man...She'd remembered talk of a man at the Rusik, although why they sought him out she wasn't sure. Either way, she had one purpose here, knowledge of the forest...and that was what she'd come for.

"Excuse me...I hope I'm not interrupting anything..." Stern edge to her voice as she'd made her presence to them known, a light bow given, to the distaste of her companion, her chittered once more, hopping up onto her shoulder, and cawing softly. The wind bustled through the fine raven strands of her hair, glimmering along the crimson that lay randomly streaked throughout, tucking gently behind her pointed ears, revealing the obvious Elven heritage that lay within her veins.

"I have a few questions I'd like to inquire, if it wouldn't be too much trouble. I'm not from around here to be honest...would you mind helping me?" Referring to the three of them, as her gaze settled on each of them in turn...

Memories of the past forgotten for it is in the future I have finally found my peace…
