Oh ... sorry if my wordings/phrasing was confusing! Let's see, here was what i had in mind:

Eve was running. She came across fighting (still within the woods). She hid and ducked behind a shrub/bush. One of the fighting men was struck down (this would be the elf she had seen earlier) and fell down besides Eve at the bush/shrub, right next to her.

So when you said that Eve dashed out of the woods and then knelt by the fallen elf, i got confused, because the fallen elf would have still been back in the woods, by where Eve was originally hiding at.

So, maybe a little tweaking of your post? And then Mina can burst onto the scene and do something heroic or something ...  Or ... just ... *cough*fry*cough* everyone ...
