Ripp cut a slice of roast for himself spearing it on the end of his knife.  He bit off a piece and smiled, excelently cooked, or the fact that he hadn't had good fresh meat in a year also helped.  He swallowed and turned to Elraralia.

"I'm Ripp Dide, water druid." he replied not giving his long tirade, tiring of it himself.

"I am prepared to meet my maker, but, is my maker prepared to meet me?"

Aiyana finished her food and with a hearty sigh lay back.

"I'm going to turn in for tonight.  You two are welcome to share my fire and shelter," she said, gesturing to the lean-to.

"There are no need for watches either...Talyn will alert us of danger."

At his name, Talyn cooed and took off.

"Sounds good to me...never really did like guard duty much.." Elraralia said with a sigh, leaning against a tree, happy to be able to fully rest.  Unable to fall asleep, she turned to Aiyana,

"So, which part of Caerelth are you from?  Assuming that this forest isn't your permanent home.."

"I am not truly from anywhere.  I am a Meladrahim, a wanderer.  My birthplace, if that was what you inquiring to, was near the Shaded Forest."

She exhaled deeply.

"And you?"

Slicing another bit of pork he chewed thoughtfully.  He took out his water bladder and squirted some into his mouth.  Taking a large swallow he gave a slight, "urp".

Master always said I should keep up on my studies

Walking to the far side of the fire he sat down and crossed his legs.  Pouring some water into his cupped hand.  Closing his eyes he focused on the water. His mind connected with the water allowing him to bend it to his will.

Opening his eyes he could see the water had risen to a small pillar.   Slowly the end touching his hand rose up to form a medium sized sphere of water floating there.  His shapes  growing more and more complex.  There was soon a tree slowly swaying in and unseen breeze.  A wolf trotted along.  An eagle very similar to Talyn was soaring on warm thermals.  Then finally an elven bowman pulled back on his long bow and the small water arrow had barely left the string when the whole figure collapsed and the water fell to the ground.

Damn!  I can never hold two seperate entities together." he muttered to himself .

"Bah, that's enough for tonight." he moved back to the fire and glared into the embers.  And thought of possible ways to remedy his problem.

"The Auturian Woods.." Elraralia said distractedly, as she wathched the male of the group do...something with water.  Obviously with magic of some kind, but never really having been around much magic, she wasn't too sure.  Not to mention the fact that it always made her  a bit nervous.

"Umm, Mr. Water Elf..guy...first, what is your name?  I'm fine with calling you that, if thats what you want...although your name may be a bit easier.  Also..what exactly are you doing?"

"I believe I already mentioned that lass, Ripp Dide.  As to what I was doing was "watercrafting".  My mentor long ago told me to never stop practicing and I don't intend to.  I suppose I shall keep trying to improve my abilities until the day I day."  he smiled ruefully, "Which I hope won't be for some time to come."

Aiyana rolled over, keeping a small dagger within reaching distance, and closed her eyes.

Perhaps I will stay with them, assuming I am welcome.  I am enjoying there company....

Her thoughts trailed off.  She watched the fire danced lower, and glanced up into the sky, watching Talyn circle ominously.  All was safe.  For now.

She began to sleep.

Blushing in the firelight, Elraralia shook her head

"Sorry about that Ripp, I must not have been paying attention when you were telling me.  That tends to happen to me when I'm not around people too often...so this water crafting, what is it exactly, controlling water, or.." she said, at a loss for what else it could be used for.

((Eeep!  Totally missed that post Ripp...:o  sorry bout that))

Ripp nodded at her understanding,  "Yes its main purpose is to control water.  Ave'al, the druid I trained under, taught me how to become aware of the Cár'áll in the water.  By manipulating that Cár'áll I can then control the water.  As to what it can be used for when I was the captain of the caravel Sea Wyrm even in the doldrums I was able to keep us moving.  So it has its uses."  he ended with a grin.

"I can see how that would come in handy" Elraralia said smiling, and then stifled a yawn.

"Well, I think I'll be packing it in, goodnight everyone.." she said and laying down, drifted off to sleep, thinking to herself

' 's nice to be with proper elves again...maybe I'll stay on for a while...considering they don't mind...hope they don't.."

Right then, to sleep we go.

Leaning up against a nearby tree trunk he rolls up part of his robe and moves hit to his right shoulder. Resting his head on it he pulls his Efryst, and Eva, close and drifts to sleep

Around midmorning the next day, the sun, filtering in through the trees finally hit Elraralia's eyes...full force, until finally she was forced to wake up.

"Uhhhhhh" she groaned, and as she sat up, found her back to be in one large knot.  Turning around, she found the source of this discomfort to be a large root that she had somehow failed to notice the night before.

'I must have been exhausted.." she said to herself stretching, and standing up, looked around, surprised to see others in the same camp site, then remembered the previous night's happenings, and was glad for the first time in her life to be part of a group.  She couldn't really remember the last time that she was in the company of others...in fact the last time had been the night before she left her village, in search of something to do.  And that had been almost three years ago.  Even when she had been of on a training mission, she had been with other elves.  Hoping that this would last, she stood up stretching, and looked around, at the others, who seemed to still be asleep.

About to take a walk out of the clearing, she spotted Aiyana's eagle, who must have returned sometime during the night, staring at her.

"Hello there..you are a pretty one. Aren't you..." she cooed to the bird, then standing back up again, she looked into the forest.

"Care to join me in a hunt for food?" she asked, and began walking into the forest, in search of breakfast.

Aiyana bolted upright.  A scream.

"Something's happening!" she cried to her companions, one just barely discernable through the dense trees.

"Arrows." She reached down and grabbed her weapons, drawing her bow and a single arrow.  "I'm going."

With that and a quick screech to her eagle, she dove off through the foliage, not bothering to see if her newfound friends were following.
