Chapter 5: Journey to Marcogg

Journey to Marcogg Map


They traveled north through the forest, along the same narrow road that Blackwine's men had fled the previous day, until the sun rested on the western horizon.  This leg of the journey took the Severine's company to the northern edge of the Sharadon Forest.  A land of low-rolling hills lay before them, their tops still kissed by the sun's dying light.  Fields of low brush, tall grass, and bright flowers met their weary eyes.  The occasional copse of maple, oak or birch trees broke up the landscape and provided either shade from the sun or protection from the rain, whichever was needed.  Farther north would be the Gulf of Maraya, yet another day and a half ride away.

The road ahead will be dangerous; with the company on horseback, they should easily overtake any Legion of Rage soldiers on foot... assuming the soldiers kept to the road.  So far, there had been no sign of them.  

A bubbly stream ran out of the forest, trying to make it's way west to the Aetryam Sea.  Still in the shelter of the Sharadon and nearby the fresh water source, the company made camp.
