Thank you , Rheine, for the reminder.

Wow, It's been so long since I've even *thought* about this game.  And please take no offense, I haven't written/participated in any of the online RPGs I'm a part of, for a long, long time now.

My (lame) excuse?  Life has sorta just kicked me in the ass and my interests have changed so drastically.  I ~love~ to write (I really do!)  but can't seem to make the time for it anymore.  My job has mutated to the point where I not only don't have time to game in RL, but I hardly have time for my family either.  It's just so strange... the older I get, the less time there seems to be for anything that I *want* to do- it is always what I *have* to do anymore.

I don't know about Severine.  And I am sorry I didn't drop by and officially quit.  Honestly, it just didn't occurr to me.

If anyone here wants to step up to Mod status, just let me know and I will arrange it with the powers that be.  Of course, Luca & Dasson could also arrange it.  Feel free to NPC Phiona as needed.  I only ask that you don't kill her off because I may have a change of heart (and mind) in the future... and return to Caelereth.

Cheers,

Phiona Whitefire

Well, we could "freeze" this story until some of the players sort themselves out - after all, Luca is gone for a little while, Phi might come back, Tythle the Elf is due back eventually...it's just an idea, though it would be a pity to lose this story comepletely.

Kinda looks like that is what we are going to have to do.  This story is too far along to loose it, freezing it a bit until some more people come back sounds like a good idea.

Phi, just a question, but do you have any idea as to where this story was going to go? We'll need to know that if we are to finish this story without you and Sev.  Not that I want that to happen mind you, it just seems to be the way things are going.

You're welcome, Phiona.

Sorry to hear you can't stick around. :(  Hope RL lightens up for you.. :hug

In any case.

For this story.... it needs a jumpstart. It needs a moderator, it needs a plot, and it needs people.

People we have, but they've seen the story to have slown down and have ceased to checking the boards only every other day, or every other week.

They need reassurance that the story will be capable, and is, moving quickly, and fast, towards a set direction.

Phiona, if possible, whoever the new moderator is will need a plot outline from either you or Sev, detailing where you were planning on taking this story. If that is not available, then the moderator will need to look at where the story has come from, and make a logical push in a direction that will complete the plot arc, and, if necessary, continue on into a new one.

First, we need a new moderator. Luca is an admin, and mod of several other stories, so while she has experience, and is here often, her time could be limited, and thus slow things down. If she feels she is up to it, however, then she could. However, she is away for another week or two, so it'll be sometime before we get any response from her on this subject.

I personally have barely been in the story, and so do not know where it is going or where it has been. I'm here everyday, however, and have been a moderator before. Whether I could carry the story forwards, I do not know, and would need the help from YOU. *points dramatically at everyone else*

If anyone else feels they could do it, then they could say they're willing. However, it'd be preferable to be someone who is reliable and able to check often. If people think they're up to this, then speak up.

In ANY case.

We do need a course of action.

1) We need to contact all of the players who are still around, by e-mail or IM if necessary. We need to remind them of the story, and bring them here.

2) Choose a new moderator. This should be done quickly, and without much discussion. Speed of the essence, and if we are to bring this story back from the brink of destruction, we cannot dilly dally over who would be the best choice. ACT NOW! Offer expires while you wait. Please see contract for details.

This person must be capable of directing the story, but MORE IMPORTANTLY, directing the players and making sure they are active and posting REGULARLY. This is a mistake I OFTEN see of moderators here. They post up a 'you must post every day or every other day', but fail to discipline the players or contact them when they start faltering here. When that happens, the player starts posting much slower, and begins to delay other players, which then begins to unwind the story until it eventually collapses from lack of participation. The moderator MUST keep a leash on the members.

3) Discuss where the hell we are going. This is not just a task for the moderators. The players will feel more inclined to stick around if they are in on issues, and feel they have responsibility. If a discussion starts on where the people have input on dictating where the story will go, they'll be more willing to help see it through.

And we must start immediately.

*points dramatically*

Well is anybody that is still here been around from the start of the story? I joined in chapter 2 I think, and I myself would like to moderate, but comming up I will have limited time myself. School is starting and I am in the musical Chicago and that opens sept 16 so I won't have the kind of free time a mod would need.

I've been here from the beginning...I was positive that there had been more.  At any rate though, I'm like Dray, my time is about to become very limited, if I could help it, I would.  Not that I'm going to stop posting mind you, I'm just not sure if I'll be around enough to task manage.

Anywho, Reine, I agree with you.  What we need now is to discuss where this story is going.  Saddly, we may need to stray from Sev's original plot, as he never really told us where it would be going, not even in the beginning.  All I know from earlier discussions is that we are here to bring a vengfull end to the bad guys here.  After this final fight I'm not even sure if this story was going to continue on, although we probably can take it further if we like.

So guys...any ideas for a roadmap?  We really only need a basic one, just enough so when people go off on their own tangents, it doesn't contradict the rest of the plot.

Don't look at me. I might have to leave the story with the onset of a new school year. We'll see. But I've kept EoHS my "just playing, nothing else" story and I do enjoy to keep it that way.

So what are we going to do then? If no one steps up to the plate to demand what we are going to do, then we may as well all chip in our two sense. It's not like it is mandatory to have someone in charge, why not say that we all are for right now.  Anyone who is still interested in the story has now been raised to the status of co-mod.  No one can do all the work, but we can all try and do a little, even if it is just posting. It's not like we don't know where this thing was going in general...let's just finish it.
But if everyone thinks it should just die, then say so.  Personally, I hate seeing stories die, this will be the second one I have been in that has died, and it is a very sad thing.  But what needs to be done needs to be done.  We just need to decide on something.

I think this is too good a story to die...we should do something with it. Has anybody tried getting a hold of Phonia or Sev by e-mail or anything? Does anybody have them I guess I should say.

Their e-mails:

Sev: SeverineHalo@yahoo.com

And

Phi:
AKITA_RAYA@yahoo.com
or
Dragon_tarot@lycos.com

I will e-mail them both (both as a player and admin) and if I don't get a reply within two weeks, either somebody has to take up the reins or I'll poll my fellow admins to have the story set inactive.

I've been getting involved with a new story, so have been kinda lax for this one. :|

Don't really know where this one is going, either... I mean, we don't know what Sev and Phiona were planning to take it, and there are several characters who haven't said anything here in weeks.
