A refresher on the Ten Commandments of Roleplaying

1. Thou shalt not play God
2. Thou shalt not solve all the problems of the universe all by yourself.
3. Thou shalt add details to your writing to keep it from being boring.
4. Thou shalt be true to the character of your character.
5. Thou shalt make sense.
6. Thou shalt not kill other characters or decide what damage they get.
7. Thou shalt be patient for other characters to post.
8. THOU SHALT NOT WRITE IN ALL CAPS AS IT IS HIGHLY ANNOYING.
9. Tho shlt nat us fels spillin n gremmmer.
10. Thou shalt not decide thy neighbour’s actions, or his wife's actions, or his ox's actions

If you are new to roleplaying, then I highly suggest that you read the Role Playing Tutorial. This thing really is fun, and EXTREMLY helpful for new players. It is quite possibly the most amusing tutorial I have ever sat through.

Character Acceptance into Redemption

Characters will be accepted depending on a few stipulations, and they are thus.

1: Your posting style must be readable. Use good grammar, not to many spelling errors etc etc. I don't want to have to read a post over a few times just to figure out what words you are actually trying to use.

2: Characters must be at least somewhat creative. Boring characters are just that. Boring. They also happen to be extremely boring to play with. The main areas I look at in CDs when it comes to acceptance are personality and Strengths and Weaknesses, and thus, these two areas should be fairly well elaborated on.

3: Players should have the resources to post at least every other day. IF at any time after joining this is not possible, then
that player must post in the absences thread, detailing why, and when the problem will be fixed (if possible),

4: Players must have a good track record when it comes to Activity. Players that have proven themselves to be late posters, or players that have randomly disappeared from the site may find it somewhat more difficult to join Redemption than someone who has at least given warning to delayed posting / leaving.

5: Incorporatability ( If that's a word :p  ): Your character will not be incorporated, if between the two of us, we cannot find a logical way to incorporate him and/or her. I SERIOUSLY doubt that this will come up though, for I myself am Quite Creative (I think :p  ) and if you managed to follow #2, then so are you, and thus between the two of us we could probably think of somehting.

Rules during play

Tense
All posts should be made in the PRESENT Tense. This just seems much much easier to me and much more free flowing in my opinion. And my opinion is good.

NPCs:
Any player is free to create minor NPCs whose presence may be predicted, such as a bartender in a bar, or stallholders in a market. They are not, however, free to puppet them, or name them. Once you have “seen” the NPC you wish to interact with, your mod will puppet them for you.

Exceptions can be made for NPCs that relate to a character in some way, i.e. family members, friends, enemies, etc... All we ask is that the player first ask about puppeting a particular NPC and state the purpose for such puppeting.

Inactivity:
If a PC falls inactive in the story, i.e. they do not post within one full week of their last post, they will be puppeted out of the story. To avoid coming back to a disappeared PC, please post any absence which will be two days or more in the absences thread. Also, if you are not away anywhere but notice that you have not had time in the past two days to post, please let us know in the absences thread anyway that you may be unable to post until your assignment is in / your child gets better / you have had the candy floss removed from your lungs, etc. Posting in the absences thread will give the mod of your thread the warning and the permission to puppet you char, as minimally as possible, so as to keep your char with the group for as long as it takes.

Moderator's Discretion

If your post goes against the storyline, or you do something out-of-character, impossible, or against the ten commandments in any way, you will be asked in the OOC to change your post. You will be given a couple of days to do so before we change it for you. In this case both the mods will agree that something needs to be done before you are asked to change anything. Be reassured that we don’t expect to have to use these powers often, if at all.

Nobody is beyond redemption.
