[Hylphán]

Hylphán notices that Sarah is obviously tired.  The haggard look, the bloodshot eyes, the slow movements.  He sympathizes with her "I know what you mean, I never liked shift changes. It takes so long to get used to a new schedule."  As he continues eating, he thinks to himself    ' I am glad I met this woman. Perhaps an acquaintance in the town guard could be helpful in the future.'

[Niccoli Faust]

"Yes, though it is rather nicer to not act like some kind of night beastie and walk around in the sun for once." Sarah looks out one of the windows, slightly forlornly. "Better than the gate guards.They actually have to talk to some of the people who come through those gates." Sarah has a look of faint exasperation with some of the 'people' which explains some of the slight contempt for the post of the gate guards.

[Hylphán]

"I have stood many a night watch myself" said Hylphán.  " I completely understand the feeling."  After thoughtfully chewing on a piece of meat and bread, he asked "I have some errands to take care of this evening, after a short rest, and I was wondering if you could show me some of the more interesting parts of the market district as I run these errands?"  I would greatly appreciate a guide, as it has been more than a couple of years since I was here last."

[Hylphán]

Hylphán watched Sarah's face and body closely to gauge her reaction to his request.  "I hope that wasn't too forward of me." he thought to himself.  "I wouldn't want to get her upset with me over a simple request."

[Niccoli Faust]

You notice that Sarah has actually fallen asleep with one hand supporting her head while the elbow rests on the table.

[Hylphán]

Carful not to startle her, Hylphán whispered her name several times before she awoke with a start, almost dropping her head on the table in the process.

[Morcaanan]

Sarah's elbow slips out from under her arm, and she snaps her head up abruptly.

"I'm sorry, what were you saying?" she asked, blinking like an owl in the sun. "A guide?" She wrinkles her brow at you, trying to recall what it was you said a moment ago.

[Hylphán]

"Oh...Yes," Hylphán started, "I was just saying that I have some errands to take care of this evening, after a short rest, and I was wondering if you could show me some of the more interesting parts of the market district as I run these errands?  It would be nice to have a guide that's familiar with the city, as it has been more than a couple of years since I was here last."

[Morcaanan]

"Oh..." Sarah purses her lips in a thoughtful fashion. "I suppose, but you realize that some places will start to close in the evening. Though I probably will be more awake then than I am now" she adds with a rueful look.

The city guard returns to her half-finished meal. "You said you haven't been here in several years. What kept you away? Or are you here on special business?" she asks, trying to find a stimulus to keep her from nodding off again.

[Hylphán]

"Just a bit of travel"  said Hylphán.  "I  have been aboard ship for most of the last 3 years or so.  So I'm looking forward to some "extended" time ashore."  Hylphán grinned, "I do need to get some things repaired and buy some new items this evening.   All that time at sea plays havoc with your wardrobe!"
