Firewalls are good for preventing remote access problems. Personally I sware by them. Others think me over the top paranoid, but do they read as much as I do?

Well I will let you decide.

Koldar here is my security loadout, if it is a remote access or virus/trojan problem you may with to look into any you do not have implemented. Note the layering, it is the best solution to security, but security is something that needs to be maintaned. I have put "{Opional}" beside some of the item, these you may put in place depending your needs, and the level of security you want.

{Optional}Router /w NAT/Hardware Firewall - I have a Linksys with NAT (This support my small network, and provides a first line of defence against intrusion, but will not hinder outbound trojan connections. It may also be a Linux firewall box as well.)

Software Firewall - I use Kerio Personal Firewall it is Free, but Not for beguinners though. (This is your friend. If properly installed and configured a software firewall should protect you both from intustion, and from unwanted connections [Tojans/Spyware phoning home] leaving your system.)

Anti-virus Software - I use AVG for real-time protection, and mail scanning. I also use Norton AV (Packed with SystemWorks) for running weekly scans, and for mail scanning. (If you do not have this installed and continuously updated, start kicking yourself in the @$$ now.)

{Optional}Anti-Trojan Software - I am currently not running any as I am boucing from one trial program to another to find one I like. (Best to pay for a good one, this will cover any wholes in your AVs ability to detect harmful applications.

Avour, the golem had a ruby in it's hands. I took the heart from the table, and that activated the golem, which dropped the ruby. I probley said it in a wierd, streched out way or somthing, and you must've misunderstood.
