OK, I'm partly back.. we still have holidays here, so no undisturbed mornings..

What we need to decide is in which part of the year we are in, especially when we travel northwards. Maybe winter forces us to stay at Ximax  - or in this region, over the winter?I  thought, that we shorten the visit of the local dwarves and visit the Zirgurhim(?) looking for some information there, or any adventure.. Judy's desciptions are so tempting!

I am back and I posted.  Thanks everyone for your prayers and well wishes.  I do not think I will be a guinea pig anymore, it hurts too much.

You're fine, really. We tend to take turns posting, for the most part.

Sorry for not posting...once again but it seems that those who love and care for me decided it was in my best interest to not tell me that while I was going through my own tests, my father-in-law passed away from cancer, he did not even know he had it, and it took him in less than three weeks.

Then this morning I was woken up by a phone call...you know when the call is really early in the morning it is not good...anyway, my wife's step-mother passed away.

I knew them both very well and Matt, he was my wifes father, he and I got along really well...he had just turned sixty-five and had just celebrated his 37th wedding anniversary.  Laurie's mom, Laurie by the way is my wifes name for those who do not know, she is in her 70's, 90 percent blind, but she is very strong in the Lord.  She just spent a ten days with Laurie and now she is going home to pack Matt's things and stuff.  She is from Oklahoma and she does have two of her sons living in the same city she is from and she has alot of friends besides her church family.

I guess it is Matt I think most of... He was a quiet man, but a steady man, a man from the "old school" if you please.  He worked right up to the day he could no longer get out of bed.

This is the type of man Matt was, he married Laurie's mom when she had six kids living on her own,(her first husband was an alchoholic and abuser) he took care of them all, they even had a son between them, so he had seven children he took care of; Laurie was the oldest.  He never once complained, never took a look back, worked two, sometimes three jobs to support his family.  He had a dry sense of humor, but once you understood it, it was funny.  He was always smiling and when you met him you were greeted with a strong handshake and hearty welcome.  After that if he spoke it was seldom, but when he did, he spoke softly, intelligently, and with a tremendous amount of wisdom though he never graduated from high-school.

I am going to miss him...tremendously.

Betty, Laurie's step-mom, was a gruff old lady, but she had the kindest and most generous heart I had ever met.  She will be missed as well.

Why am I telling you all this, a group of strangers, yet somehow there are those here who are very dear friends to me, and you know who you are.  It is just that when you have on-line friends that you talk to more than your RL ones, at least in my case that is, you need to talk to someone and I needed to get this off my chest.  I apologize to anyone who may think this is not the forum to discuss such things.

When you are young, you think you are invincible, at least that is how most young people drive and behave from what I have seen, but when you reach my age, your friends, relatives, even movie stars that you adore, begin to slowly pass away and you start to think...when is it going to be my time?  When will the Lord of Heaven call me home and will I be ready?  Do I wish to live even if my quality of life will not improve or be worse?  Do I sign a "do not ressucitate order" if I go to the hospital.  Do I think about being an organ donor, though with my disease, they would not take me.  But I could donate me body to science, but do I want to?

These questions and more may seem morbid and I again apologize to you who think so, but those are questions that I am asking myself and even more so now.

I am sorry for spilling out such personal feelings...but I consider you family and I guess I needed to talk and vent some of my anger, frustration, sadness, and thoughts.

Capher.

Yes, Talia you did, and I thank you so much for your kind words and wisdom.

That goes for all of you; Tal'as, Teri(you made me laugh) Terra, thank you all.

Now to get back to the story.  I forget what we decided upon, we are heading for the vale, correct.  And who are we meeting there when we get there?  And is he/she coming along with us, or is he/she not needed because we have Eden now?

We are heading for the vale, where we will meet the brownies. We have a letter from the elves with us, I think, a recommendation.I don't know yet, what will happen there, apart form the usual - any ideas? Anyone want to play a NPC? Eden, any chance your Milken visits any relatives?

Capher - present tense :)

Do you mean Percy? I doubt it... his "tribe" dates well back into the city... he has enough extended family as it is there, much less keeping track of those back in the Old Country! :b

Count me out on this NPC. I'm still working out Garrek, thinking about bringing Melor back into the picture, and the red elf, who it turns out really was the culprit for the first assault this chapter - I'd better not.

*sigh*

Well, let us move on to the valley.
I'm not here from tomorrow to Sunday and might not be able to post. Either go on and puppet me, either of you, I think you know me by now, or just think about, how we can have a short, but nice little intermezzo in the vale before we are going on to the dwarves of the Rimmerin's Ring. Please read up all info about them and the Brownies meanwhile.

Vale-Brownies

Council tree

Map!!!

Brownie clans

There exists no entry yet about the Kurakim Dwarves, all what we have is here:

The Tenthrum Clan

TENTHRUM CLAN, THE ("STRONGPICK")
Dwarven clan located at the western part of the Rimmerins Ring, just east of Kor Donion and the Vale of Brownies - there exists much trade between this clan and the Brownies. They often have the latest Brownie technologies, and some long-standing friendships have developed between dwarf and Brownie craftsmen in their respective fields. As a result, the Tenthrums have a reputation for being the "liberals" of the dwarves, and are looked on with some mild suspicion by the other clans. Of course, the fiercely loyal nature of Thergerim society means that outsiders would never be able to exploit that suspicion to their advantage... "They'se may be odd uns," as one old Boltgrumm Granny was overheard to say, "but they'se our odd uns..." Return to the top

Of course you know all about the dwarves from the general entries, I'm sure ;)

I will do a post today later.

I've an essay to finish (er... and start, for that matter) tonight so I won't be able to post until tomorrow. If it holds anything back, you can puppet me. Eden will just shut her mouth and mumble to herself, going off to do her own thing. She, of course, will follow the party in the efforts of getting a chance to speak to Capher.

Travellers, you cna still choose the time of the year, we have not decided about that!
What about late summer, the winter will force us to stay somewhere - maybe in Ximax or with the dwarves of that peninsula?(after we have visited the rimmering dwarves)

I thought about our stay in the vale and I have some good ideas about the treatment the Brownies will give Talia and Terra.
But to play outr visit properly, we need some NPC's. I will comeup with some tomorrow and every one of us should play them or one in particular (we will see). Just take some of the time you would ned to post your char.
Teri, if you have plans with Garrek and his companions - they will count as your NPCs!

I have no idea yet, how to get some action in the play for those, who have to wait till Terra and Talia are in their "life-magic" treatment. A guest-char (brownie) would be nice. I can try to ask for one again..

it is so hot here, I can't think clearly..
