Most of the group are heading to the camp, not so Aueniteri, she is climbing a tree and seems to want to stay there. Talia stops and looks up to her, with a  „Not hungry?“ on her lips, but decides, that maybe it is better not to say anything just now. She doesn‘t know, how often Teri has used her sword already, was forced to use it, and maybe she has to fight the aftermath of having killed somebody, even if it was an ogre who had been a deadly threat for her travel-companions... or her friends already? Are they really friends, after such a short time? They have encountered a lot of dramatic things together already, and that does grow bonds. The others are vanishing in the trees, and Talia is still standing there, thinking about her relation with Teri. She doesn‘t know much about her, nor about her brother and her relation to him, just that it is definitely not a good one.  But that is no hindrance not to trust her, not to like her very much.

The short time under the tree stretches.. but finally, as Swing who  has been waiting patiently for her human to go on nudges her shoulder - the others are entirely out of sight already - Talia shakes her head as if she wants to stop her daydreaming and runs to catch up with the others, Swing following her in her steps.

Breakfast is smelling delicious, but somehow Talia has no appetite. First she gets another set of clothes from her saddlebags and puts them on. While rummaging in her saddlebags, a thought enters her mind. Hasn‘t Capher asked for this strength enforcing liquid? Why had she forgotten about it? --Oh yes, he had talked on and finally asked who had killed the ogre, and then Teri was answering... and she had forgotten about his request. But she couldn‘t find the small flask anyway, though she had thought, that there was something left after the encounter with - what was the name - Bium.

Talia‘s head sinks in the comforting fur of her aj. Something is not ok with her, but what? It is distressing to not to be at your full abilities. Well, this night they will spend in the Vale, and maybe they really can help her, and Terra, and maybe even Capher..

Talia puts her things together and ties all to the ropes which cover Swing. she is ready to go, but the others are still having breakfast, so she sits down, hungry, but not able to eat something. What has it been, that she had forgotten - yes, Capher wanted some of this strengthening liquid with the side effects. She recalls the situation back then - at the beginning of their journey and a smile crosses her face. Searching her way around the fire, she goes over to capher, to tell him, that she can‘t find the drink.

Ta'las nods when Capher explains that his exhaustion is physical, and that he will likely need to seek help from someone other than the brownies.  "I had only meant that you seem physically tired.  I know almost nothing of the mental effort spell-casting takes."

He smiles wistfully when Capher mentions his mother would be proud of him.  "I do not know, were she alive.  The person who sent me is my mother-sister - other human tribes would refer to her as an 'aunt'  Thank you for your compliment, though I was not alone.  You, 'Teri and Talia actually played more important roles in the fight."

"I think Z'doth will come to terms with your...ability.  You must remember I have had time to get used to your eccentricities," he says with a smirk.

He leaves Capher with the others during breakfast, as they seem eager to speak with him.

After his first bite of food he looks over at Ken.  "This is very good, Kenrill," he complements the halfling.  He quickly wolfs down breakfast - he is anxious to be away from here.  He knows nothing of ogres' habits - whether they travel alone or in small groups - but he does wish to be away from here as soon as possible.

Pots and pans clattering about her, Eden scurried on after the rest of the party, her thoughts bouncing about like the beard at her knees. Who were these people? Why were they here? They seemed friendly enough... but were they really? Her blue eyes scanning, the dwarf's brow came together in concern as one final, most important question came to mind. Why were they so well armed?

They arrived eventually at a small camp, and the cleric struggled to keep her shortness of breath away from the prying eyes of the new companions. They may not have been going so fast, but their legs were so long compared to hers, and Eden had already been up and about for a long while yet. As people went about their own business, Eden kept her mouth shut and stayed out of their way. She was a guest, so to speak, in their camp, and it was only right that she let them go about their business.

It was only then that she spotted the halfling leaning over some food. Her natural instincts getting the better of her, Eden shuffled forward and leaned over his shoulder (it was a rare occurance that she was able to do as such for another person!) snuffing her expert nose for spices and scrutinizing the contents. She wasn't particularily horrified until, that is,  they began to eat.

Mouth gaping, Eden watched in horror as Ta'las devoured his breakfast without so much as a murmur of prayer. Red in the face with rage, the cleric very nearly toppled on top of the poor hobbit. "Now there say!" she yelped, pointing a little finger at those who had gone ahead eating, "The Rock Father scowls upon ye. Respect! Hah! Why... why... no respect!" Eden tugged nervously at her beard, running through some short prayers under her breath.

Terra had only just started to eat when Eden had her outburst. She puts on a appologetic smile before speaking coolly.

"Sorry, I for one was not aware of your beliefs. I do not think Ta'las or any of us ment any disrespect."

Terra lowers the next bite that she was about to put in her mouth and waits for Eden to complete her prayers out of respect.

Ken's conversation with himself is rather suddenly interrupted by an outburst of, "Now there say!"

"A little hoarse for a woman's 'Now there say,' but now there say enough nonetheless," Ken comments, dishing out one of his numerous pouches full of the food and turning to face the dwarf. He muttered incoherently to himself through the rest of the tirade before extending his pouch out to the dwarf, and saying softly, "Ava be thanked, and by Seyella's blessing may it not be poison. Are you hungry? It's sweet, I've added some of my own sugar to the mix; not spicy, though. If you'd like it spicy, I could fix this much up to suit you. Could do more if you'd like it. I like food that way, you know. So that you can fix it up how you want it after it comes out of the kettle. Of course, it should be good straight out of the kettle, no arguing that, but it should also be good with a little extra salt or whatnot on your plate. It just makes it feel that much more personal. People like things just that little bit more personal, I've noticed. I'm no exception. I just love a good dumpling, you know, but when it's on my plate I like to smear butter all over it. Fresh butter, too. Fresh butter's much better than that old, traveling stuff. It's sweeter, and mum puts a little molasses and cinnabark in it. Makes it all that much better. She's good at it, though. She'll make bread..."

Eden finished her prayers of thanks and forgiveness and tugged on her beard, huffing at Terra. "Ye be hoping then that Trum-Baroll is being as lenient as myself, neh?" she said, nodding curtly.

Suddenly, the little man turned to her and offered her a morsel. Ignoring his words, which seemed to sputter endlessly from his halfling mouth, Eden sampled it. She looked up and to the left, running her tongue along her teeth as she tasted and nodded to herself. Silently, the cleric unheaved her pack and rummaged through a smaller outer pocket, revealing a tiny leather satchel. She pulled from it a small green stem and rubbed the tip between her fingers, releasing a staggering herbal odor. Pinching off the end, Eden dropped the curious plant into the food and mixed it about, tasting it again.

"Too sweet so to blind the face," she said quietly, placing the rest of the small plant in Ken's hand, "Bitters it up a bit and adds some kick at the end. Good for toenails too."

Ta'las raises his eyebrows at Eden's outburst, but he remains silent.  This is not an argument that he is likely to win, though in his opinion they all owe Baveras more thanks than Trum-Baroll or any other deity for that matter.

He shrugs and then looks over at Terra.  "My thanks Lady Terra," he says with a smile.

Then, to Eden.  "And my apologies, Eden, but we must move on quickly."

He carries his plates to the river and quickly washes it off, and refills his waterskins.  Ta'las leads Desert Rose to the stream, and allows his Aj'nuvic to drink.  The Shendar returns shortly, and checks Desert Rose's riding straps as he waits for the others to be finished.

Ken had plenty of the plant's scent to know a little of what to expect, and now takes a little piece out of the pouch to see exactly what it had done to the food. After a short bout of coughing, he gave the pouch in its entirety to the dwarf and put the piece of plant in another empty one. "Definitely an acquired taste," he said thoughtfully, and began speaking along the line of tastes and acquisitions, and habits, and so on.

Terra's eyes lock on Eden, an expression of anger coming to her face, not a quick birst of uncontrolable anger, but a slow stream of seething anger that she would normally have hidden deep inside. Her voice is not as cool as usual as she retorts the rude reply to her appology.

"Not all of us share your beliefs, nor do we have time. If a Kar'ii were to stop and pray they would be dead. The orcs would give them no mercy and our current situation is little better!"

Terra quickly finishes her meal, then gets up in an angry huff. Getting up so quickly she stumbles a bit for just a mement still having a bit of trouble with her balance though the rest and meager meal seems to have helped alot. She goes off to tent to Coore and her things, her actions still seem angry, and even Coore seems to reflect her anger and know it is directed at Eden as the large horse seems to glare at her.

Capher too was a bit taken aback by Eden's outburst, but then as he peered at her clothes and did some quick thinking he came to the conclusion she may be a cleric, and cleric's, no matter what diety they serve are very, pious; or at least some are, others just pretend.

He sat there eating his food thoughtfully, watching all of his companions reactions to Eden, and the only one who surprised him was Terra.  She actually lost her temper, which was very unusual and concerned him.  He watched her go to her horse.  He stood up, gave a short bow to Eden, "My dear lady please forgive our companion Lady Terra. She has been under a tremendous amount of stress as we all have, but she has not been herself since she and Talia fought a demon lord, some weeks back.  Even Lady Talia is not fully recovered, that is why we head to the Vale of the Brownies. Hopefully they will have some help for them."

He did not wait for a reply aa he did not think one was needed as he went to where Terra was. He approached her cautiously, "My lady Terra. It is unusual for you to lose your temper like that.  I believe that as Tal'as had said we have to move on.  I am hoping that the brownies will have the solution to yours and Lady Talia's dilema's.  In the meantime do you recall your basic tecniques of Jakarta, the art of the Sophronian's self defense?  It may help to do some of those exercises to calm your mind and clear your thoughts.  It is just a suggestion, but it is the best one I can think of for you at the moment."

OOC, I may have the wrong word for the Sophronian's self-defense method, forgive please. I will look it up later.

Capher.

Talia is about to fall in a depression, for she hates that she can‘t control herself so badly in the last time, to be so vulnerable regarding her own emotions and mood changes. She hates not being her old self.

But when Eden rants about the lack of reference towards Urtemgor before a meal, she smiles again. Maybe that was a hint from the gods not to despair, but to set their hopes on them, that they will help and that all things they have to endure will make sense sometime in the future? Her hope rises again. Maybe the Brownies are really the ones who can help her!

Now she just waits for the others to finish breakfast. Ta‘las is ready to go  as well. Will Eden come along? She should, maybe there are more ogres around if there was one and Talia would like to know her better. Talia likes to offer a ride to Eden on her aj as well, but fears that she will decline it as Kenriil has done.

Terra seems to calm a little, and even more when Capher speaks to her. Infact a clear smile comes to her face as she takes an easy deep breath, looking over at Capher.

"I am fine Capher. I know it is unusual for you and the others to see me so open. I guess I do not take well to having my appologies rejected."

She turns back to preparing her gear.

"I only hope I am truely stong enough to cope when I do meet my past. I am not so sure anymore. I think all my dicipline may have made me weaker, but I have you should I fall."

Returns a short smile as she finishes fastening the buckle on Coore's saddle, then puts her hand on Caphers shoulder.

"I know nothing of the people you seem to know I come from. Perhaps you can yet tell me about them."

Eden's eyes bugged out. Demon lord? Surely she hadn't heard him correctly. Perhaps it was some shapeshifter figure of speech she hadn't quite picked up on yet. Her eyes narrowed and shifted towards Terra, who had since turned her back to her. Possessed? No... surely the holy woman would have noticed. But still...

Shaking the vile thought from her mind, Eden quickly scooted down to the river. She briskly washed her hands in the chill water and splashed her face. Refreshed, the dwarf went to the tedious task of unbraiding her beard and running her fingers through it, washing out the mud. Every once in a while, the cleric looked up to see if the others were ready to go. She did not wish to be left behind in ogre infested forests!

Capher smiled, " I am sure when the time comes you will not fail us. I am hoping that the brownies will have a cure for all of our maladies. I would love to tell you about your people, Terra but we must be on our way if we are going to reach the vale before nightfall."

He turned and watched Eden go to the river and wash herself.  He watched her thoughtfully as he again was awed by Seyella's choice of companions she sends his way to help him complete his quest. He spoke somewhat loudly, "My dear Lady Eden, since we all seem to be mounted, except you and I fear that you could never keep up with us, though I do not doubt your stamina, I offer the services of my horse to you, of course as long as you do not mind riding with me.  Or maybe you would rather ride on an AJ.  I am sure Ta'las or even Talia would be glad to give you a lift.  Either way, make up your mind for we must be going.  We have to reach the vale before nightfall, and the sun is already high in the sky."

He turned and looked up in the trees searching for Terri.  "Lady Terri, we go. Are you ready?" He asked, as he walked over to his horse and finished cinching the saddle straps and securing his pack he jumped upon the horse.  "Are we all ready?"  He asked as his horse snorted, reared and then came back down again.

When Capher asked, if all were ready to go, Talia mounted Swing with ease, at least her physical strength was nearly back to normal. Curiously she waited, what Eden would say to his offer. Z‘doth had preferred not to ride in such heights, she remembered amused.
