Admins, I have a question.

This is just for any admins, mods, or any commenters who would like to help with a story. I am creating one in the story creation forum and I would like people to help me out with it. It would be excellent if people could help me out with the story. I have edited it majorly now that i have seen what it takes from pikel's "Redemption" and I think it is up to the task of being approved. I will do as much hard work as i can on it, however, my friends and i have seen the problem of having commenters comment on it. So, people out there, please help with my story!

This will not be easy and there is still a ban on "new" stories as we haev watched many simply fade away into nothingness over the years. It has not been lifted per say but stories are allowed according to the need of them. We have been trying to possibly bring back old stories which have already had their experience on the board but bring them back under new or original modship.

I am willing to do the task of making a new story, as i have much friends to back me up and help, and i will try to keep eeryone in the story and pitch in. This is not saying that I will make them post like a jail, but I will ask them to if they have not posted for a while. I will try to do the task and I will be glad to do such hardships, hoping that i have a succesful breakthrough.

I find that a major tendency among players wishing to start up a story of their own is underestimating the work involved in modding a story to keep it alive and interesting, as well as overestimating the staying power of our players! My suggestion: find a story that you're in and enjoy, and request the position as a co-mod. If that doesn't work out for you, maybe join a new story and become a co-mod there.

This will not only give you experience and insight into the whole planning and execution (of the story, not it's players!) side of things, but it'll definitely put you in the good books with the admins.

thank you. I will try to do that, but i wish to continue with my story. I do not underestimate the hardship, in fact i believe that i have maybe made the wrong decision, but I have this great idea for a story, my friends and i have been planning it for a long time, we have been working on it for a while, and now i have to delete it??? How could i do that after the work we've done? anyways, i believe that i have what it takes to do such hardships and do all the jobs needed to get the work done. If i make it, and the story is approved, i will have also two co mods at my side.

I don't think they are saying no outright, what my understanding of what Luca and Kali are saying is that at this point there are no new stories. No exceptions, this means you can develop it and have it approved until the point that new stories are once again permitted.

Edit:: Even with comods on ones side it is still totally possible for a story to deep six due to lack of player participation. At this point santharia seems to be in a state of regrowth having lost many people due to lack of interest, time or just frustration due to one of many reasons.

Of course is hard to keep a story alive, but do you think we would let our own idea to sink into the deep darkness??? Most of the players are friends, and will be welcoming any newplayer, I don't have expirence in this kind of RPG, but I managed to keep a Werewolf Story for almost a year (and I was limited in time...) Now think that I will be not alone, will be surrounded of great friends that have a creative imagination and a desire to leave behind the real world.

Is it possible for me to switch my occupation from being a sorcerer to being a Foiros or Nehtor worshipping cleric?
That was my original intention for Thorgas... but the situation back then forced me to choose another path. Well it doesn't matter now, just curious.

If I'm not mistaken, clerics are under heavy construction.  You'd have to talk to whoever's working on them, and I forget who that is at the moment.  Check the dev board.

That'd be Talia.  She isn't too keen on letting people play clerics, but she does make exceptions sometimes.  Yeah, you should talk to her about it if you're really set on playing a cleric.

Kalina, we are willing to do that, though. I have already asked Darien if i can become his co-mod because he is leaving and needs an associate for tythle. Plus, if you keep scaring everybody off because it is so hard, then eventually, when all of the stories die down, we won't have anything. Me and Orril are willing to help evryone out, be patient, and work hard. I believ I got Thorgas on them job, too. We need more stories. there is ONE story that is technically open, and that is war of the fallen. all the other stories are closed right now. We are stuck with war of the fallen and the thirsty herald. The point is that we are haing a hard time catching up with stories, so me and Orril are actually trying to help you buy trying to make a story instead of making you, yes i've heard this, bring back old stories that have already been played. Now you are precautioning us, and we appreciate that, but we are willing to do the work and help everyone out. We know it will be hard. We know it will take patience. We know it will take a long time, but we are willing to do that.

Xun, I know it is hard, if I say it this way, and I really don't do it frivolously, for I like you both, but neither you nor Orril have shown till now the abilities to mod a story. Your posts in the Herald and WotF don‘t show the qualities a story mod needs to be able to help others. You still need help yourself. You have to improve there first. I haven‘t looked at your story lately, but there is surely still some work to do.

And you do underestimate the hardship of mods. Even Grun and Vesk , both who have been excellent story moderators laid down their task, for they just couldn‘t carry this burden any longer. And I tell you, it is not always fun, but you carry on out of responsibility or just because you don‘t want to let the story die.
You are right, we do not have enough stories open for new people and with Kalina and me now rescuing/modding two old stories the new one we have planned will have to wait a while.

You can both work on improving your posts meanwhile - try to write a little perfect entry every time  - no spelling errors, no grammar errors if possible, a post that makes sense and has some literary qualities. Length alone doesn‘t help. Alter your sentence structure, don‘t start with He.. He..Try to put as much effort in your posts as if it is a submission on the dev-board.
