There seems to be one major problem that we mods have already talked about and that is the lack of qualified people to mod this. What you have suggested is something of great proportions. It's hard enough just making a simple storyline or even an open-ended one such as Voldar. You would also need a co-mod(s) to help you run it.

The main reason why there isn't a whole lot of active stories is because there aren't any qualified mods to mod them. Sad? Yes. True? Yes.

We are working on some things that will help newbs (in my language, different then a "n00b") get into RPGing quicker. Well, after they get titled of course.

Jiro, I am just going to point something out to you that you got upset about in your latest post.

THIS IS NOT A STORY, BUT A THREAD TO SUGGEST AN IDEA.
I AM NOT REQUESTING TO BE A MOD.

Though you are not saying "Can I be a mod?", placing a story idea on the board for discussion which is yours, and you plan on trying to create a story from it...that is the road of becoming a story mod. Which is why us people up top *waves* have expressed our concern so fervently and pointed out the rules on such things. We aren't trying to make you upset, we just want you to realize that you have a ways to go before you are "qualified" to take on this fully.

Also, you contradicted yourself in your first post on the "mod" matter. This is partly why people are throwing the rule book so hard. 

These are just some ideas, and I am in no way saying that pre-existing RP's do not have some or many of these elements. Please give me your input on this, and whether or not I should construct a story such as this. I promise you that I'd be more than capable of doing so, despite the length of my time here.

   Yep, what she said.  Sorry I couldn't resist.  We are not downing your ideas, but be careful about how you propose them.  People might become confused as to your intentions.  Like starting a story or taking your idea to a person who would qualify for story modding and trying to get them to set it up.

i think if i woudl ever make myself come up with a new CD then i coudl see if i could RPG, but i like Mirmec Rethindor's name so much (though he couldnt be developed because he was a restricted brown dwarf). I'm learning about Southern Sarvonia right now so i think maybe soon i will have me a new CD, we'll see. I might try to be an Eyelian, though i don't know pretending to be one of the Spiritual Ones who walk the Land is almost sacrilegious considering i have actually been to some Indian holy places out west. So maybe not Eyelian. We'll see.

Spiritual Ones? I'm not sure what you mean by that? I don't think it would be sacrilegious since it is not really Indians. Sure, they may have been based on Indians but this is something completely different. But, that could just be my thinking. *shrugs*

If you haven't composed even a CD for your character, what are you doing over here on the RPG boards?  Discussion about your not yet created CD should probably go under the CD thread since any questions or thoughts you have would more adequately be addressed by the CD mods there.

Back to topic:  I wonder just how many of us are around, and currently active, who qualify to create a story and why no one is stepping up to be mods?  Which also brings to mind, where did all the story mods go?!  I know everyone needs a break, but sheesh.  We should have to take turns, not all leave at once.

I think I'm qualified to run a story by now (with a few characters approved and a few years of Santharia behind me) but I don't step up because I don't have the time for it. I'm busy enough with all my characters in Voldar and being a CD mod

Ahh, but see you are a CD mod.  That counts.  That is SOOOOO helpful to the Admins.  It all works out in the end I guess.  Too many people come in like a lion and heck with going out like lamb, they just fall off the face of the earth.  Can't be a story mod like that.

See, I do have a bit more time to spend with Jiro, but I know I'm not ready to become a mod yet, 1, because I've only been here a month or so, and 2, nobody knows me well enough yet. Make no mistake, I plan to apply as a moderator of some kind in the upcoming months, but right now I know that is out of my reach.

That is why I put this in the general discussion first, so it would attract more converstational type attention instead of constructive criticism, for there is nothing here to criticise but my opinion. That is why I take offense to unwanted and often snuffy-know-it-all type references. I've perused the dev board, I'm 2 years familiar with the site, I've been RPing since I was... 9, almost 10, so I'd say 5 years straight, and I've read each and every meticulous rule regarding every subject and every thread that I've posted under since my... encounter with my first character.

Go to your pofile.  You will have to then look to the links located at the left of the screen.  There will be one that allows you to edit your personal information and your profile information.  In your profile information you can upload a picture.  Make sure it meets the 60 X 60 size requirements.  If you have problems getting it to size correctly, then contact Art and he will help get that up for you.  I had to.

You know, i'm not a noob but i'm not exactly an administrator either, but i think that a venture into psyrpent territory could fit all of your quotas, as it is very, very interesting, and in my opinion, the subject of psyrpents is anything but undeveloped. Has anyone looked into creating cities for them? Because i got kiked from the dev board from an elevating argument with a few gays.(Not saying names, and yes, Clurion...)

Avash, I'm sure you know the rules about not bringing up old threads. It may not seem too old, but there's a lot of activity going on in Santharia. And please don't publilcly insult members, because there's a chance the the insulted might come after you and start more arguments. If you really have to, keep a private diary. Then you can insult people all you want.
