« on: May 12, 2007, 02:11:11 AM »

Any and all suggested changes will be in Green.

Name:
     Shír'Meph'guóur.

Gender:
     Male.

Age:
     373.

Race:
     Elf.

Tribe:
     Maeverhim.

Hair Color:
     Black.

Eye Color:
     Blue.

Weight:
     1 Pygge, 3 Hebs, and 2 Ods.

Height:
     2 Peds and 1 Fore.

Occupation:
     Healer, Marksman.

Title:
     Nature's Gift.

Overview:
He is an overall nature and animal loving guy. He is shy when it comes to women, but can sometimes overcome it if his familiar Furry comforts him some by rubbing against his neck. He has a positive outlook on life. He also has a fair knowledge of herbs and can use them to help heal people.

Physical Appearance:
*Overall -- He is a very tall and slender elf. His arms and legs are longer than the normal length, but this is a characteristic of his tribe. Also, his hair is quite long and his finger nails are quite long.

*Head -- He has bony cheeks and long pointed ears just like his other brethren, but also like his closer brothers and sisters, he has an unusually long nose. His hair, which has never seen a haircut, is down to right below his waist. His hair has blue pigments in his hair in streaks. He also has 2 crystal blue almond shaped eyes. He also has 2 piercings in each of his ears on the lower part, and 2 more in the top of his left ear and 3 more in the top of his right ear. The piercings are sacred to him, since they are a reminder of how many pets he has had thus far. The latest one was on his upper right ear, he added when he got Furry.

*Body -- His body is very slender and thus shows some of his ribs. There are no traces of fat along any part of his torso. He also has a tattoo of a fox, which he did cause of his name, on his back.

*Arms -- His arms are very long and skinny. His arms have several different band tattoos of different designs. The one on the upper part of his upper arms is a diamond like design. The lower part of his upper arms is sort of like a flame design. The other two on each arm are flower designs, the upper one is of a sunflower, and the lower one is of roses. These all symbolize his love for nature. His finger nails are also very long and somewhat curved. He also has one unique things about his right hand, it has a scar on it. The scar is from when he saved Furry, and Furry didn't trut him yet. He slashed his hand open, which in time, turned to a scar.

*Legs -- Even though his legs are slender, they hold much power. They have tattoos of ferrets on each of them. This symbolizes his love for ferrets.

Clothes:
He wears loose, baggy, black, cloth pants. These allow for easy mobility. He also wears a loose, black, cloth shirt. This has silk attached between the arms and sides of his body, to give a wing like appearance.

Personality:
He has a care free personality, unless you mess with animals, then he can get mad easily. He also likes to find out different uses for plants, which can be good or bad for him. Some he finds for different ailments, others cause him to get sick or ill. He is shy around women, unless comforted by his ferret. He is otherwise very calm and will have a normal conversation. He has always been a curious person. Because of this, he has been shunned from his tribe and ventured off into the world. He is also a very caring person, especially to animals. He will help any animal he finds injured, and later on in his life, he started helping injured people too.

Strengths:
*He is an excellent bowsman, being able to hit a target at 150 peds with excellent accuracy.
*He is very swift and agile, being able to run quite fast and dodge with relative ease.
*He has a lot of endurance, being able to run long times while needing only a little rest.
*He is at an intermediate level in wielding his dual arm blades together.
*He knows decent knowledge on how to treat most injuries, due to him helping animals and other races that were injured.
*He can climb and jump from trees due to growing up in them. With this, he is able to sneak around and be unnoticed while moving when the need arises

Weaknesses:
*He has a weakness for animals, he doesn't like to see harm to animals, and will go to their rescue and won't fight them.
*He is a very shy man, although he grew up with a lot of people, he never really interacted with them, but found animals a more suitable companion.
*His pet Furry, which he won't let anyone hurt and will protect no matter what. He has put his life on the line by turning around to block the attack that would hit Furry.
*He has abdominal pains every now and then, due to a random injury from a wolf.
*He has had a great curiosity since he was a child. Due to this, he has been hurt and caught into traps too many times.

History:
When he was a kid, he spent most of his time in the woods. He had to sneak off and touch the ground now and then without no one finding out. It all started when one day he messed up jumping from one tree to another, but because of this, he was able to see the baby fox by itself, which became his first pet. The reason he touched the ground, is because he thought about the outside world and what all was out there. Another reason why he touched the ground, was he wanted to help the world and all the creatures in it. He knew this was only possible by touching the ground, so thus, he did. He liked to make friends with the animals instead of making friends with elves his own age. Because he did this, he grew up shy to other elves and lost the natural comfort of talking with other people. He did attend teachings by his parents, but when they were done, he went straight out to the woods. He usually didn't come home but slept in the woods. He did make one very good animal friend as a kid, which he treated as a best friend. It was a lone baby fox. He had to take care of it secretly without his parents knowing about it. He brought it up and taught it to hunt. But one day it died when it got attacked by a bear.

As he grew up, he gained different pets, which all died at some point, totaling up to 8, 9 with the addition of Furry. Also, with his growing up, he started spending more time with other elves, even though he was still shy. He did eventually did get better at talking with others, but not enough to lose his shyness. Every single pet he gained, he kept a secret, until he moved out of the forest. Only one of these animals ever hurt severly, which was a pet wolf. When he first met it, it slashed open up his side, leaving a scar that cause abdominal pains now and then.

When he was about the age of 27, his father decided to teach him how to use a bow. Even though he didn't like spending time with other elves much, he found a lot of interest in learning how to use a bow. He quickly learned how to use it, and instead of practicing more with his own father, he went out in the woods and practiced. As he gained better accuracy, he used it to try and protect the defenseless animals of the woods without harming other animals.

When he was about 169, he was out in the woods one day taking care of a abandoned fox he found and had raised. This pet reminded him of his very first pet and childhood best friend. He would go into a daze remembering the old days. While in a daze one time. Another maeverhim spotted him on the ground while foraging, even though Shír thought he was out of the foraging range. The other elf raced back and told everyone in his village. When Shír went back, everyone knew his secret, and his parents were greatly ashamed. He was shunned from the tribe and thus left it, venturing out into the world. He went from place to place, earning his keep by going into friendly bow contest, and sometimes hunting down wanted people, for a reward. He also studied about plants he saw and decided to try them out for different uses.

When he was about 237, he saw a retired mercenary sharpening his pair of dual arm blades in the woods. He asked what they were and why they looked birdlike. After the mercenary explained, he asked if he could try them out and the mercenary kindly handed them to him. He tried to use them, and the mercenary saw that he was a natural in wielding them. He then asked if he could borrow it and ask a blacksmith to make him a pair similar to it. The mercenary accompanied him to it and stayed with him until they were done, he then went back to his cabin in the woods and Shír thanked him. He then went to practice with them on his travels and became ok with them in a few years.

Through his life, he goes place to place, learning all he can about animals. He also takes cares of others races sometimes. He usually stops in towns and goes to the hospitals and spends some time there helping them. Being a marksman makes him some money. He likes helping out other that are in danger.

At the age of about 360, he was walking through the wood one day, when he spotted a wolf digging at the ground ferociously. He also heard a faint squeak of a baby ferret coming from where the wolf was digging. Knowing of the danger the baby ferret was in, and loving ferret the most out of all creatures, he had to save it. He quickly pulled out his bow and one arrow, he shot it just barely missing the wolf’s head, causing the wolf to run away scared. He then went to check on the baby ferret, which clawed at him, causing him to bleed. Ignoring that, and caring for the ferret, he picked it up and gave it some of his bread and some water from his sack. Since he saved it and took care of it, the ferret became loyal to him. It followed him everywhere, except when sleeping, which it slept in his sack. The cut on his hand later turned into a scar.

Weapons
     *A handmade composite bow.
     *Dual arm blades.

Belongings:
     *His weapons.
*A sack for carrying food, water, and treats for himself and his ferret.
     *Some smalls bags for money.
     *His clothes.

Familiars:
A ferret he named Furry. He got this ferrot, while it was a baby, while walking through the woods one day. It was being attacked by a wolf while hiding in a burrow. Even though he doesn't like to harm animals, he shot at the wolf, purposely missing, to make it be afraid and run away. He then went to it and tried to clam it down. As he went to pet it, it scratched at him, leaving the scar on his hand. He still picked it up, with his hand bleeding, and gave it a piece of bread from his sack and some water. It then traveled with him and became a faithful companion that won't stray away unless he knows it is safe.

Hello Shir!

I must sadly say, that since I stopped commenting that the  new people here don't even read up their tribe before they choose one. Have you read the Maeverhim entry?

The Maeverhim live all their life long in the trees and those who touch the ground are shunned!

Ok, well I only need to change my history, and since I keep changing computer, I'm gonna make this post and do the changes in here then transfer to first post, if that's ok with the admins and mods? Well here goes, if needed I'll take out. And yes, I know I'm not on the right account, just too lazy too change.

All changes and comments on it in my ever favorite ugly modding and talking color green.

I believe I only need to change the beggining untill the time I leave the forests. Also, some on my personality and S&W's, due to the changes I'm making.

Personality:
He has a care free personality, unless you mess with animals, then he can get mad easily. He also likes to find out different uses for plants, which can be good or bad for him. Well, it is not very convincing that your parents don't find it out for so long, even if you are going away. The Sharadon is not this huge.
Secondly, it is a matter of education - no Maeverhim would ever consider to touch the ground. You need a reason why he is so different. If you do want to play a Maeverhim, you should really try to FEEL like one. So far you could be any elf - or human.

Ok, I've made chanes, such as adding the scar from my history into appearance, added a S&W, and added bits into my history for him to end up how he is. Can I get some more comments please?

That is no way out, no Maeverhim child would think so. Children believe their parents, this is an old tradion and cannot be broken with an simple "he found it weird". either you are a maeverhim, then act as one or choose another tribe. If you are maeverhim you should play one, even if you have to be earthburned.

Maybe you grew up as a normal child, but then you got accidentically earthburned when you were, say 20. You were afraid that somebody could find out and therefore you became this loner? What about this? (You should have come up with such an idea..)

Weivoc, listen to Takor.  He/She has been commenting years before joined the site.  Also, CDs generally aren't the place to whine about your personal life and it would be much appreciated, at least from my side, if you didn't snap at a well respected member because RL at home isn't what you want it to be.

Shir, you have a fairly long CD, but you need to put more effort in it nevertheless. Now you have the appearance of a Maeverhim, but nothing more. The essential thing, his character, his life is far from typical Maeverhim.

Of course are there children in our society which don't trust their parents , but your char lives in the middle ages, where you just did what your parents said AND as a kid believed, what your parents said - and you were tight so strongly in your society, that escaping there or thinking differently is not a matter of "he thinks it's weird". You haven't written either, that your char here has similar experiences like you in real life, so where should his strangesness come from? And even if he would, the tabu given by a strong society and the long tradition would not allow a different thought without a GOOD reason.

I know you want to roleplay quickly, but an essential part of the charm of this world and which distinguishes it from others is that the chars can only live here and in no other similar universe. If you don't have fun in making your CD perfect, then you and your fellow players won't have much fun in playing either. How can you play a Maeverhim without being one by heart? It should hurt you your lifelong, that you are earthburned. Take another tribe, if you don't want to be one or let your father be an earthburned Maeverhin, so you can have the appearance but don't need to play one. (A cheap escape though imho)

Write about , your sorrow for the injured)threatened animals and your  difficulties to help them out of the trees if they dwell on the ground! you got an idea how you could achieve this, so why don't you give it a try?

Go through your CD again and look out for inconsistencies - does this really work the way you described it? etc

I say it now again like so often before: your CD is your entrance in a good story (though we do lack some atm.), so put as much effort in it as possible.

And be glad I didn't do an URI check  buck

People who do not have other CDs get preference.  You already have a character you can be playing with while they do not.

You have not, in my opinion, adequately addressed Takór's last comment, or given a reason why you have done nothing with it. I will not give more comments until you have.
