Hi all

I strengthened her magic skills, to experiment with them and to survive in "Tears of the North". They are not really strong yet, but  what I have now would be fairly useless in the situation I might be soon! Hope this is ok. I kept for now both in the entry, for comparison.

For all who don't know me yet: I'm planing to write down the Himiko. Minóki is only allowed here, because she is already on the site as a person's entry (and I do know the Himiko, while you don't )

As Altario sicks several wargiders on me right now to save his own ass it would be cool, if I had some advanced skills  to survive..  and save him too

   Save my own what??  Look, every northerner knows that one Remusian male is worth countless Ice Tribe women.  Facts are facts and hold no gender bias.

But, having read this, I'm okay with it, but would prefer having a Magic Expert look at it to approve it.  They don't look overly overstrengthed.  As a Developer of the Himiko Tribe, I'm willing to let you "test drive" some magic, etc, in order to lend it for further development on the Dev side.  If you were a newbie or so, I would have other opinions.

I think it's important to note that the Roleplaying Board and the Development Board influence one another, but should be kept separate in many ways. You have created a character of a tribe that no one else is allowed to played because it's yet undeveloped. You're using magic no one else is allowed to practice, because it's undeveloped. Ximaxian magic is under-developed, but the possibility exists for someone to make a very powerful character; the information and means are out there for those who are interested in investing the time and effort into learning the system. Himiko magic isn't so accessible.

Being able to turn light snow into blizzards strikes me as pretty powerful. I trust you to use your power wisely, because you know the world and know the system and have been at Santharia even longer than me. However, I will say it makes me a little uncomfortable. The reputation we build for ourselves on the Development Board should never give us carte blanch here on the RPG boards. Regardless of our development board accomplishments, we all have to play by the same rules when we step on the RPG Board. Please proceed with sound judgment and the upmost consideration for those who don't yet have the privileges you've earned.

Of course you are right to some degree, but on the other hand: Where else than on the RPG board can I test a new magic? If I develop it out of my head, it might be even much stronger (and will on the dev-board), but I would not be able to say, if it will work on the RPG board. I don't want it to be restricted, once finished. There was a rule a long time also, that only those who have proved to understand Ximaxian fully were allowed to do a level x mage, that's not much different.

To the more powerful magic - a weaker one is of no use. A skilled swordsman can beat his opponent, I can't , if I just strengthen a breeze a bit and bring the wind to blow a tiny bit stronger. This magic is my weapon in the environement I have to survive right now. With orcs or without.

So let's see, how it develops

I have two characters that I have created to test new stuff from the Dev board. I think we shouldn't be afraid to bring in new things from the dev side, and who better to do that then the people who created it.

My preference is to bring over fully developed stuff, and Himiko magic isn't. But I trust Talia and am excited to see this play out.

To me, I'm more dependant on who it is.  Long term devers who also RP and want to do it will get my approval long before a fairly new Dever who went to that side from this side and it appears more of a selfish cause ( "if I dev a magic sword, I can carry it") than a real attempt to add to the world of Caelereth through a development project.  I would place Minoke (and her player) in that character for the Himiko, Rayne for an Elvish situation, and Mal for a northern situation.  In truth, I'm doing it to a small degree with an Antislar NPC in Sins and coordinating with Drea on them in SW IV.

Of course, everything should have limits and Rayne is wise to point that out and I thank her for that.
