Teri, you have not failed us. No need to apologize. RL gets in the way, and I really understand. If you wish we can give a couple more days to post or if not I can puppet our way?
@Terra, nice enviroment; about how many people can you get into there without breaking the fire laws?
Just kidding, really how many people can you get in there, or does it not matter?
So the light show is just something Windows Media Player does on its own to music being played. Interesting. You should see how the colors and shapes changes depending upon what kind of music is being played: country, rock, hard rock, soft rock, pop, R&B, Jazz, classical, and the techno music you play.

No, Capher; if I hadn't just made that post, I would hope you would have puppeted me. Really, a small thing story-wise, so no big deal. Also, I lumped Ken's post right in with it, save everybody some time.

Capher, on Windows Media Player, it's called a visualization. It's basically just a very simple program built into the player that takes the waveform of the song - waveform being the pattern of the vibrations that make up the sound - and interpret that data into something on your screen, using patterns, shapes, and colors. There may be some math involved in what colors it chooses, but I'm not sure. I've seen some interesting things on it: listening to a file related to a drama/mystery I'm watching on youtube, and one of the symbols that they use in the show appears on my screen. It was kinda creepy, but not intentional.

The club is rather small, it's only 26 meters by 21 meters, I think we were getting pretty close to 16 people in and it was starting to full in, so I would guestimate we could accomisdate 25 to 30 people, absolute max would be 40 which is the limit for the number of people the whole region will support. 30 would be a good number for us though and people could still get to their homes.

@Teri, thanks for the information on the media player, I did not know it.
@Terra, interesting. So do the people really dance to your music? I mean do the 3d figures actually move or do they just stand there and talk while the music is playing?

Yes Capher, peoples avatars can and usually do dance to the music, and it is quite a lot of fun. And there are is a great community of DJs in SL (Second Life.), and a fair number of inside jokes about us to. LOL I do enjoy it a great deal and really missed it for the stretch that I was not DJing. Recently Debuted at another club, Noxluna had a club owner come in to listen to me and landed a great one time trial gig, maybe it will become a regular gig, it pays almost twice what I would normally make.

Oh it is, I just don't have enough time to make any real money out of it. Noxluna Djs about 20 hours a week and makes enough to cover her SL Premium, and land Tier fees, even enough extra to help with her real life bills while she is unemployed. It is lots of fun and I never would have expected starting Second Life I would be doing something that would put me at the center of peoples attention, never was terribly social at RL parties.
As far as Noxluna and my Second Life together we are now living in the same virtual home, the one I pictured earlier where I "Lived" has become out retreat, should we need a change of scenery of the "Sim" is down and we can't get to our main home. Noxluna has 5 rentals set up, and we have The Moody Dragon next door as well. Things are pretty good for us other than a rash of network/server problems the SL has been having, we have not seen our bunnies in about a month now, we have been soo afraid of "Letting them out of their carriers" in fear of us loosing one to an "Asset Server Issue.", we have become quite attached to them and they are our eqivilent of our babies. Even though they can be easily replaced it would not be the same.
I just bought a newish computer, got it REALLY cheap at work, P4 3.0Ghz, 1GB RAM Hyperthreaded, PCI-Express slot, 80GB Hard Drive for less that $100, then I spent about $400 on a new 512MB Graphics card and power supply to run it all. Going to swap in my old hard drives, DVD Burner and 2GB of RAM from my old system and it should last me a few more years.

*ish jealous*
I'm struggling to play NeverWinter Nights 2 on my quaint little Toshiba with a 128MB video card... which ought to play NWN alright, technically. But it's a chipset, rather than a real card. What that means, for the rest of us, is that part of the processor's memory is dedicated to video applications. It runs a lot of games alright, Halo, for instance, which works real smooth except when there's a lot of models on screen Models, for those just coming on, are the three-dimensional objects in a game or program that are rendered, or drawn, live; as opposed to sprites, which are drawn beforehand and simply pasted into the program. But even in Halo, when I de-animate the models *koff koff*, it pretty well clears up, regardless of the area size.
Back to NWN2: It checks cards for capabilities. Hardware textures and lighting, in this case. A chipset isn't capable of doing hardware textures and lighting. In order to play NWN2, I have to use a hack program that forces the game to be blind to the card's inneficiencies. *sighs* I need a new compy.
I did learn a good thing from my troubles with NWN2: Whenever you buy a laptop, always buy a gaming machine, and never one of those cheesy so-called "business" laptops. Even if the most graphically intense thing you ever play is solitaire; you will never regret having done this, and it will stave off obsoletion.

Well SL runs on my 4 year oldish "Cheesy Businiss Lappy" alright. Well 7 frames a second with a 32MB graphic chipset.
So yes while it does not run well it does not crash either... Except for when I do somethig extremely stupid and my frame rates drop below 0.5. LOL Yes I know I need a better Lappy, but with this one I can laugh at all the bling'tards with so called high end dual cores, and people with significantly better machines that whine SL will no longer run on their machine. LOL

Oh, you will be here soon! Wondered a bit when somebody would come and pick me from the tree. it is still my shelter...
Terra, there is a place on my tree where I could feel save - make up your own refugium, maybe with a cave in the trunk?

Thats is a good idea Talia, Terra has the struggle of fightign her fear and getting up the tree first. Ta'las would likely have to guide her back down... A little.
