Human, Serpherlorian

« on: April 21, 2008, 01:47:59 AM »

Name
Rukaqua
Gender
Female
Age
24
Race
Human
Tribe
Serpherlorian
Occupation
Sword for Hire...i.e. Bodyguard
Title
Brashy Bladeswoman

Overview
Ruka is a sometimes overly-confident woman with an almost masculine air of purpose and drive.  Her racy humour and rather forward advances can get her into trouble, and the fact that she is more than willing to defend herself only prevents her from curbing the traits. However, she abides also to a strict moral code, and never attacks those obviously weaker than herself.  She cuts a formidable figure, towering over most other human tribes and imbued with thick, practical muscles.

Appearance

Height: 2 peds, 1 palmspan
Weight: 2 pygges, 2 Hebs
Hair Colour: Dark Brownish-Black
Eye Colour: Pale Green

Physical Appearance
Blue tattoos swirl over Rukaqua's face and upper body, their patterns curving and intertwining around her flesh.  The marks are still at the darker end of their colouring, not yet having paled over time.  Three wavy stripes of colour cross her face from right to left, the first ending in a curl on her forehead, above her left eye.  The second starts above her right ear, swoops over her right eye socket, bathing her right eye in blue, and continues over the bridge of her nose ending below her left cheek.  The last appears to rise from her jaw and curls in on itself before it reaches her lips.  The flowing patterns continue down her neck and chest, circling and swooping, but becoming slightly more symmetrical as they reach her arms.  Even the backs of her hands are not free from the blue marks.

Overall, Ruka's  body is more muscled than the average man's, let alone the average woman's, and she displays this figure with pride.  Her scant clothing leaves most of her chiseled limbs bare to the open air, and her power is easily obvious.  Although not overly tall for a Serpherlorian, Ruka's two-and-a-bit peds is enough to make her taller than most, quite enough to weight out her thick limbs.

Behind the swirl of tattoos, her face is best described as strong and heavy.  However, the visage appears more approachable than the rest of her rugged figure; her expression is often one of content and peace, far readier to seek a laugh than a fight. She is quick to smile in humour or in greeting, and usually makes no attempt to hide what she is feeling.  Her lashes and eyebrows are dark like her hair, adding further emphasis to her expressions.  Light green eyes seem a little washed out around the darkness of her hair and the other bold blue decorations.  Her dark, thick locks are held back from her face in a variety of braids and bands, which change as her mood does.  She possesses several bone clips which an also be used for the purpose.

Running down her large figure, one comes to the two pinnacles of its bulk. These twin appendages, somewhat larger than average, pull and stretch at any clothing she wears, moving and jolting with every step.  Thus, the woman prefers to wear a tight leather bodice to keep them in check, as she finds this somewhat more supportive than the traditional cloth-and-leather bindings of her tribe.  This is laced at the back in a corset-like fashion, leaving a thin strip of skin visible where the ties cross each other. The leather is slightly softer than her skirt to allow enough room to breathe.  The cloth-and-leather skirt is exactly like the one she became accustomed to wearing in the army except brown instead of the blue she wore as a member of the Merins Unit.  Hard pieces of hide cover a softer cloth base, the strips sitting perfectly atop one another when at rest, and flying out when the warrior makes a quick movement. Several loops grace the thick girdle, as well as a slot for her scabbard and weapon.

Ruka also possesses a couple of long, loose tunics and a pair of leather leggings for times when this show of flesh is not acceptable or for protection from the worst rain or cold.  However, the combined movement and support afforded from her usual outfit means she only resorts to these outfits when she is completely at rest.  Long, thick boots reach up past her kneecaps, also of hardened leather, and are lined with the fur of a Wolverine.  A palmspan's worth of solid thigh shows above this footwear, even when her skirt is lying straight downwards.

In addition to the usual, rather scant Seyelite armour, this female also covers her hands with fingerless leather gloves.  She only started this practice once she had left the army itself, but finds the extra protection outweighs the reasoning for not wearing them now she has not got the other girls to think badly of her for doing so.  In fact, Ruka rather likes the look they give her, and they also protect her hands if she wishes to punch rather than use her sword.  Blows to knock out rather than kill may not have been valued during her time in the army, but now that killing is not half so socially acceptable, they come in handy.

Personality

Ruka normally knows exactly what she wants and is very straight forward in procuring it, using gestures, expressions and rather obvious euphemisms when she cannot simply ask. A large repertoire of dirty jokes feature largely in her quest for the opposite sex for example, although she has been known simply to ask if a man would like to accompany her to her room.  On the other hand, if all these come to nothing and her target is unattainable then it is not in her nature to sulk or manipulate.  The woman would rather enjoy herself, wherever she is, than become angry or upset.  She has the same direct approach should someone want anything from her, and very little time for those who moan or whine over what they can't have.  This way of behaving can often come off as too blunt, or rude, or simple unfeminine, but she is proud of it and the way it marks her as a Serphelorian.

The female loves nothing more than chatter and laughter with a group of friendly people, be they strangers or acquaintances.  Alcohol helps this along, and she by no means opposed to drinking as much as anyone around her.  Games, gambling, songs and stories are welcomed by the warrior woman, and she has a fair number in her own repertoire too.  Ruka enjoys entertaining others as much as she enjoys the entertainment itself, despite her less-than-admirable singing voice.

Ruka can never resist competitions which give her a chance to test her strength against others.  From arm wrestling in bars to competitive duels and tournaments, she is always up for the challenge. Her determination to win is coupled with a resignation should somebody truly be better than her; she doesn't quibble the result of a fair competition.  The event itself is more important and more enjoyable to her than having won.  Of course she enjoys having congratulatory drinks bought for her, but the struggle of pitting herself against another and testing herself so is what she really does it for.

However, Ruka does regain a certain seriousness over some things.  If she has taken a contract, and agreed to protect something or someone with her life then she will do that without question or hesitation.  Her word once given is golden, incorruptible.  The only thing which could over rule it is the Serphelorian code of "katmoh" which encourages the protection of those weaker than themselves.  Thus if she was asked for any reason to attack someone who was obviously weaker and had no way of protecting themselves, she would decline, or wait until she was forced to defend.  Ruka is a bodyguard, but not quite a mercenary, even though the boundary between the two is rather wavery.

She also tries to take care as to which jobs are more worthy of her help, somewhat in the manner of the actual Serpherlorian Army.  However, there is rarely much choice of offers and Ruka cannot always protect the most needy: she needs to make a living too.  The warrior tries to stick to the moral code of her tribe as far as possible, but realises this will not always be possible to such a degree as she would like.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Strengths
~ Physical Strength ~ Ruka takes trouble to keep her body in shape, fit and strong enough to be hired as a bodyguard.  She is proud of her physical ability, never hesitating to take up a challenge which gives her the chance to show it off.  She is by no means the strongest of her own tribe, but when compared to the majority of others outside it, particularly the average woman, the warrior most often comes off favourably.

~ Jakatya ~ This is a skill taught to the Seylite army; the art of avoiding the opponent’s blade rather than relying on armor or shield.  Ruka herself has only studied the basics of this extremely difficult defense, and prefers to use a second dagger in her left hand to give her some further protection from another blade.

~ Confidence ~ Being confident that she will be accepted and liked in most places one enters gives Ruka an air of self-sufficiency and reliability which is useful for her profession as well as dissuading some potential attackers.

~ Blades Training ~  This is by far Ruka's favourite weapon, and the only one which she still carries with her on her long journey.  Her favoured version is rather shorter and stubbier than a normal sword, even a short sword.  It is not a graceful or beautiful weapon, but rather practical.  This is held in one hand and a small dagger in the other.  Ruka is well practiced with this combination, although she still has a long way to go before she can be called a master.  Her speed with which she attacks make up for a little sloppy technique in most cases.

~ Pole Arm ~  Ruka was taught to use a pole arm during her time in the army.  She doesn't carry this weapon any longer as its extended length was too inconvenient on her travels, and she didn't really enjoy wielding it anyway as it requires an agility and balance that does not come easily to her.  However, should she find herself without a weapon, the warrior would be able to pick up a long branch and prevent herself from being killed, although she would have a hard time doing much damage to her aggressor.

~ Bow ~ As with the other skills, Ruka needed a certain level of proficiency with the bow to progress in the army, but this is easily her worst skill.  Although her aim is passable, her firing rate is obstructed by her chest, and so she is rather slow compared to others.  The weapon frustrates her too much to spend any more time than necessary learning it too.

~ Horse Riding and Care ~  Another result of her Seyelite training.  Ruka no longer possesses a horse, but should she have to ride one she has been well schooled in controlling the creature in battle or out of it.  As long as the horse has already been trained of course, as she has never had the chance to learn how to school a younger beast and wouldn’t even really know where to start. The warrior woman can also look after one, which allows her to support an employer as groom and bodyguard combined.

~ Moral Code~  Having a solid way of living her life certainly helps Ruka's confidence and inner calm.  Her moral compass is uncomplicated and this helps her to make snap decisions, knowing which side to take in an argument.  Once she has chosen to protect somebody it tells her to stay loyal to them, and allows her to simplify her life a little.

~ Skinning ~ Ruka learnt to skin an animal and prepare its fur for sale from a rather young age.  Although this skill has not been used on a regular basis for a good number of years, it does give her an extra edge moneywise sometimes.  She is completely at home with preparing a carcass for cooking as well.

Weaknesses
~ Overconfidence ~  Ruka's overconfidence can make her seem brash, unfeminine and often rude.  Depending of course on the recipient of the attention, it can cause anything from discomfort to anger, often leading to trouble which she could otherwise avoid.  It also looses her money through gambling, and marks her as a strange outsider.

~ Open emotions ~ The noisy, open woman grew up among many other noisy, open women, and often doesn't have the knack of hiding what she is feeling.  Her face is easily read, showing the anger, amusement, upset before she has time to control it.  Subterfuge is all but impossible for her, as is holding her tongue when she should refrain from speaking her mind.  Anything she knows is spread across her face for all to see.

~ Over endowed ~  Ruka's breasts are abnormally large even for her muscular figure, and often get in the way of everyday activities as well as fighting.  The extra weight lessens her agility as well as giving her horrible back ache after a long day of walking.  They must always be bound up in leather or cloth to prevent them from unbalancing her or simply getting in the way.  This hindrance to her agility also makes her more vulnerable than if she fought differently – the style she was taught relies on agility to avoid blows rather than on armor.

~ Gambling ~  The spending of her money in games of chance suits Ruka's personality to a tee. Unfortunately, especially in games where one is required to bluff against the opponent, she really is as bad as a mermaid in a 100 ped race.  The fun of the game and the tension it brings are enough for her not to mind loosing, but this means she spends a lot of her coins on...well...nothing.  She is not so poor that she cannot eat, but it is not unknown for her to have to sleep in the stables or outside, and her habit prevents her from saving up to buy better equipment too.

~ Bad Diet ~  Brought up since she was very small on a diet surrounding meat, Ruka often sees that as the main meal and eats very little else.  This can cause inexplicable bouts of tiredness and restlessness, which come simply from the fact that she has not been eating the variety of things her body demands.  It can also cause her some problems which require the urgent presence of a toilet.  This can be problematic when travelling in a small, fast-moving group of people, where you are not in charge of when to pause.  Such as, a travelling merchant or other parties she commonly works for.

~ Traditional Views ~ Ruka was brought up in a society which had very different views on the roles of men and women.  Thus she can find it strange and unsettling, or often simply wrong to see a woman being openly looked after or protected by a man.  Coupled with her inability to hide her feelings, this can cause serious friction between other people who do not have the same ideas.  She is getting better at accepting it, and will try not to say anything out loud, but her face often says what her lips do not.  Many habits and ideals are incomprehensible to her too.

History

Ruka was born and brought up in a small, nondescript village in northern Sanguia, just north of the Rimmerins Ring.  The inhabitants were exclusively Serphelorian and in general held to the traditions of their people, making the women the breadwinners and leaving the men to work around the house.  Ruka was the elder of two sisters and one brother, and her family survived mainly by hunting animals for their pelts.  The Wolverines which inhabited the Mountains to the south were fair game, as well as the rarer Pard Cats of the plains nearby.  However, these large animals were only an occasional boost to their wealth, and their mother was kept busy trapping smaller furry specimens to sell on a regular basis.  The girls were often left at home with their father, although as they grew they learnt to help out by skinning and preparing the animals.  Not wanting to waste the meat, they often ate what their mother caught too, even if it did taste rather disgusting.  Their brother was taught to cook and disguise the strange tastes, and became quite an expert much to his father’s pride.

When she was fourteen, Ruka enlisted in the Serphelorian Army.  The thought of travelling all that way, so far from the little village and quiet countryside of her home was rather exciting to the young, forthright girl.  Of course she was also a little terrified of the idea of leaving everyone she knew behind, but this had been her mother’s plan for her since she was very tiny, so the excitement was greater than the fear.  She saw it as the first step towards her future, a sign that she was growing up.  This opinion had been drilled into her by her parents all her life.  Her younger sister would also join up when the time came, she still had four years to wait.  Together the little family travelled to the next village to celebrate the Festival of the Warriors there.  The Festival took place in their own village too of course, but the place was so small and out of the way that there would be no vaxytha or kaiarxura there for the young girls to talk to.

Hence Ruka signed herself up to the army, and then the five of them spent their last few days together at the festival, watching the displays and plays, playing kokdar and generally absorbing the atmosphere of excitement and celebration.  There were few tears when Ruka left, but many hugs of farewell and good wishes.  She and another few girls who had also joined began the long journey to Clymnios and on to the permanent barracks nearby.  The next few days passed surprisingly calmly for the new recruits.  They were all given the chance to begin to get to know each other and play some games of kokdar too.  Afterwards this seemed to have been some sort of test, for a good proportion of the girls were taken away from the main group and given to some of the more specialist factions.  Ruka, along with the largest group of youngsters, became a Merin and was issued with the blue-dyed clothes of her Bivili.

The next year seemed to pass both very fast and very slowly. The days were filled with the same routines and practices, and all ran together after a while, making the time pass in a flash.  On the other hand she learnt so many new skills and grew up so much, that when she looked back it was hard to believe she had been so young and naïve such a short time ago.  She was now far more independent, had lost the shyness of youth, and had also learnt the basics of a whole range of weapons.  The warrior-in-training could now wield a blade with some accuracy, ride a horse without being constantly afraid of falling off and take care of its basis daily needs too.  She could shoot a bow and sometimes have it hit the target, and cook acceptably over an open fire.  Her weapons were kept in the best condition possible, and she was becoming pretty good at kokdar too.  She was reminded of the code her mother had always taught her, of protecting the weak and behaving in a way which helped others rather than hindered them.  Her only problem was her balance.  She had always been a little more well-endowed than other girls, and the scantly clothing which made up their uniform just wasn’t standing up to the strain.  She began to be worried about not passing jakatya at the end of year tests, and was forced to spend some of her limited free time taking extra lessons.

However, when the end of year tests did come then her extra effort paid off.  She passed, scraping through jakatya but making a good impression with the sword.  She woke up the day after the ceremonial testing in the hunt of the Merins, and took the oath to continue her service in the Order.  The next few years passed much like the first, spending most of her time training or on guard duty.  Her sword skill became better and better, and she began to specialise in quick, stabbing strokes.  After a suggestion from her tutor, she paid for a new sword to be smithed, a shorter, wider bladed one more suited to her particular style.  To compensate for the weapon’s shorter reach, and to add to the volley of attacked launched at her opponent, she began to use a second weapon in her left hand, a small dagger.  Her and her Kaiar-je worked together to find a method which suited her, and thus her practice with this combination was greatly increased.  The shorter, quicker motions also effects her centre of balance less than using a longer, heavier weapon.

However, her other training was not going as well.  Now that they were more practiced with using the bow and all had a reasonable level of accuracy, her age group were working on increasing their rate of fire.  Ruka proved abnormally awful at this; she found the bow didn’t really sit well on her figure and parts of her got in the way if she tried to move too fast.  She also found using a pole arm very difficult, as the long, heavy thing was rather unwieldy.  She wasn’t bad at defending herself, but she found the lunges and steps required to attack with the thing extremely difficult. Horse-riding and her skill with blades was pretty much all that was keeping her going through the training.  The struggle to keep up with the others began to weigh on her spirits and she turned more to the other side of army life, the gambling and merriment which she loved so much.

Ruka was 18, when she took her first bodyguarding assignment.  Another young woman wished to travel to the next town to meet her merchant husband, and Rukaqua was deemed suitable for the task.  It was her first time of going further than Clymnios, and somewhat of an adventure to the young warrior.  However, it was also the first time she had had really close contact with a woman who, in her eyes, acted like a man.  Ruka had to constantly bite back her tongue to prevent herself from reprimanding the woman for being, in her eyes, rather pathetic and weak.  Despite this the young warrior found the change of place to be refreshing, especially the part where she didn’t have to go through what was becoming the daily struggle of weapons training.

After that Ruka took several other body guarding jobs, as many as possible really.  She visited most of the towns in the area around her, and even once travelled to all the way to Marcogg.  In some of the more distant places her outfit and position as bodyguard drew strange looks, as did some of her bolder jokes and reactions.  She saw more and more of the strange reversal of roles which most other tribes seemed to practice, and although the warrior was careful to keep her comments to herself when with her employer, there were several after hours incidents which lead to her being thrown from that particular tavern.  She also began to discover a wealth of different games which other people played for amusement, and joined in with these as often as possible.

Ruka reached her twenty-second birthday and was still in the army, but no longer a regular sight on the training grounds.  She preferred to practice alone, practice her own particular combination of fighting rather than the other weapons which she didn’t enjoy.  Somehow the realisation that this had been her life for eight years, more than a third, pushed her to make the inevitable decision.  In the summer of her twenty-second year Rukaqua left the army altogether, searching out jobs as a body guard or mercenary.  She spends her days travelling from one town to another, wherever the work takes her.  The code drilled into her during her training still runs strong in her veins, which is one of the reasons why she prefers to be a bodyguard rather than a mercenary.  Defending those who need it is still an admirable task, not quite as well thought of as being a part of the army, but one in keeping with what she has always been told is right.

Weapons
Ruka carries a rather short, light short sword, designed to be wielded in one hand.  The weapon is well-made and well-balanced, but sports a wealth of scratches and marks from over a decade of use.  The warrior woman prizes it above everything else she owns, as it is both a reminder of her homeland and her means of earning coin.  She also has a small, thick bladed dagger with a wide protective guard.

Her fighting style is one that requires quick, stabbing movements, lashing out in rapid strikes with the short sword and mainly keeping the dagger to defend against returning blows.

Belongings
The warrior prefers to travel light, and apart from a few things slung on her belt, she carries only a small pack which can be easily slipped from the shoulders should she be attacked. The leather bag contains a few days food,  tinder box and flint, six sheep's-bone dice with clumsily painted numbers, the clothes she is not currently wearing and a small cooking pan.  A leather water flask hangs from her belt, as do her weapon and scabbard.

Well, call me jealous...

I was thinking of a similar character to create not long ago. Tough, weapons fighter, barbarian type with tattoos...oh well. I was beaten to it.  grin

Overall, a very nice CD. Detailed, balanced and with a nice avatar to boot.

For once, I have no issues with a CD. Kudos!

I do think she is *kinda* young for such strengths...I look forward to reading the history!  :D

Aww thankyou Azhira :D.

Yeah, I know she might seem a little young but she did join the army at 14...she trained on all those skills from 14-20 then specialised in the ones she now uses for 4 years....well, I'll just write the history and see if it works out ;).

I'm sorry Thorgas, I do know that is usually the case (although I have seen several other waverences of this rule), I only popped it up there because a) all the information is there (if not completely written in full) and b) the CD forum is not heaving with new CDs waiting for comments so I thought that someone would not mind having a look.  If there was a huge queue, I would not have.

However, if you really think it disturbs the running of the CD forum, I shall take it down.

I'm just going to put in my two sans worth here. When reading a CD I read the S&W section first, and depending on balance, I will be willing to comment on other issues as well. This is not such a case. Your character is 24 with three weapons proficiencies. That's where I say "Godmodding" and just hit the back button to read another CD. My suggestion, realize your character is FAR too young to have completely mastered three weapon types. Either eliminate two of the weapon proficiencies or tone down her skill with all of them to novice level. Not trying to be hard on you, mind you. I just want you to get approved as quickly as possible.

Also saying that "She is by no means the strongest of her own tribe, but when compared to others outside it, particularly the average woman, the warrior most often comes off favorably." you are leaving a lot of room for misinterpretation. You could always say something like "Whlst her strength is great for her age, she is hardly a match for some of the brutes that come from other tribes and even amidst her own." Helvetine Kuglimz are considered by many to be one of if not the strongest tribe of humans. They're in the top five, I know that for sure. Again, not trying to be hard on you, I just want you approved as fast as possible and am trying to help you balance your character out. I suggest incorporating my comments and even adding another one or two very detrimental weaknesses.

Ok, sorry Thorgas, guess I’m just a little irritated that I can’t do the same as I’ve seen several times.  Rules, sticking to! :)

Dagan:

Hmmm.  Actually I cannot remove any of her weapon skills: they were all taken directly from the entry on the Serphelorian Army, and to be honest I was trying to lessen all but the blade skill as far as possible whilst still being realistic.  After all, she would have to have a certain level of proficiency to even be excepted into the main army, and she has been training far longer than that so she would be expected to have a satisfactory level in all of them.  Here is where I got the strengths from :).

Quote
“At the end of the year the girls have been taught the basics of jakatya, horse riding and care, how to handle bow and blade, and some of the basics of the skills needed by their bivil. They have also been given the tools to improve their strength, fitness and confidence enough to be of use to the army.”

Gah, so I’ve actually missed one and I’m going to have to add in jakatya too!  However, this is a very novice skill, as she only gets taught it in training and not once she becomes a full member :P.

Quote
“Xau-va are required to serve after training for at least two years, in which time they are able to experience most facets of life in the Order of Seyella.”

So intense training for at least two years, where they are trained in pretty much everything.

And from her unit:

Quote
Regular Unit (Merins)
The Merins (a Merin, some Merins, the Merins) are the largest bivil of the Order. They wear blue bindings, and are the regular troops, forming the main body of the army. The personality of a common member of this bivil is like that of most Serphelorian women: outgoing, noisy, ebullient, confident and trustworthy. Merins are schooled in all kinds of fighting, be it horsed, unhorsed, with polearm, bow or blade. A fully armed Merin carries so many weapons that myths about their armaments are common. Perhaps the most well known of these is the ridiculous story that Serpheloria warriors carry two knives strapped to their inner thighs, which they call ‘the Chastities’!

I really am trying to stick to the entry honest!
~~~~~~~~~
And in response to the balancing, I shall try and list her strengths and weaknesses.  Strengths in lime green, weaknesses in red.  I’m trying to show how I was balancing them out in my head.
Confidence + Moral Code – not afraid of approaching people and very clear in her decision
VS
Overconfident – people she approaches don’t like her attitude, she can be offensive and downright rude without realising it.
Strong  (harder hits) + Good blade skill (more likely to hit with this weapon) = warrior type
VS
Lessened agility + Cannot lie or hide what she is feeling = can never be any type of stealth fighter/informant.  Also makes her vulnerable as her style of fighting without much armour uses agility as the main form of defence.
Can fight on horseback, but doesn’t have one +Can fight with pole arm, but doesn’t have one +Can use a bow, although too slowly to make this really useful in battle, coupled with her slight hatred of the weapon.
VS
Bad Diet (can be tired, uncomfortable, strength unpredictable) + Poor (cannot buy the equipment she lacks)
So, I’d say I was far from Godmodding!  Although I'm not sure if I'm absolutely balanced get.
~~~~~~~~~~

I will try and make the strength strength clearer, although I think that the Kuglimz are pretty obviously an exception to the "average".

Ok, finished and comments welcomed!  I'm not entirely sure if she is quite balanced yet, but I have made an effort to tone down all the weapons skills apart from the blades as far as possible.  Also tried to make it clear that whilst she is good at using this style, she is in no way a master.  So, I'll hoping I'm not too far off *crosses fingers*

Ok, I got the first part read through. There are some minor spelling/grammatical mistakes (simple unfeminine should be simply unfeminine, you misspelled Serphelorian in the last paragraph of your personality... that's all I can remember right now)

I only have one smallish remark otherwise. You say her length is 2 peds, 2 palmspans, but in her physical appearance you say 'Ruka's two peds'. There's quite a difference between the two, say about a head to a head and a half taller. One's 2 meters, the other 2 meters 65 centimeters. And sorry, I don't know what that is in the imperial system ;) I'd just advise you to be consistent throughout your CD :)

That is the metric system.  Also a very nice CD, just a few spelling mistakes.

Yeah, I was uming and ahing about how tall to make her.  I went and changed my mind again and made her 2 peds 1 anyway, but I've changed the reference in her appearance to "Ruka's two-and-a-bit peds" too.

Spellcheck also done, thankyou Mannix.

Just thought I'd step in real quick.

I really like the fact that she learned the use of various weapons through the military, but only carries her proficient weapons with her.  I think it's a pretty nice touch, because if she's disarmed in a large-scale battle, she can always pick up a downed foe's weapon and she won't be totally screwed.  Good work on the CD!
