Ah, the legendary treasure trove of that infamous pirate captain, Tendrim Jovloff!  Think it’s a myth, do you?  Well, let me tell you, I know where it is!  And what’s more, I’m organising a small group to go and retrieve it!  Will you help me?

But I have to warn you first, this quest will take you on a perilous journey over pirate infested seas and into the heart of a dangerous, tropical forest.

In that remote, oppressive jungle, who or what is it that you should really fear?  Is it the roving wild animals?  How about the unforgiving climate?  Maybe it’s the pirates that plague the area, or even the other members of your expedition?  No, I don’t think so.  I think that your biggest enemy is yourself!  Out there, far from the niceties of the “civilised” world, you will have to face your own savage instincts and come face to face with your most primal emotion; fear.

There is a dark, menacing shadow hanging over that forest.  And the closer you get to your goal, the more sinister the threat becomes.  What is it?  How have the hunters become the hunted?

We're looking for about 10 - 12 PCs for this story, which will be a kind of “Treasure Island” meets “Heart of Darkness” affair which has been finished off with an “X-Files” gloss!  Most types of character are acceptable.  There will be opportunities for fighters and mages both.  Healers, priests, trackers and good diplomats will also find a place here. 

Basically the PCs have been chosen by a wealthy merchant for this quest, and he trusts them implicitly.  However, there are other ways that your character could be introduced to the story.

Anyway, let us know what you think!  Anybody feel like looking for Jovloff's Gold?

Well, it certainly looks interesting. I'd have to see if I have a character that would be tempted by gold and if I have time in a month or so, when I start my job, to join another story... If the story's filled by that time, no problem

I agree that this looks like a fun story, if I have a free character to play there by the time it opens. If I do, I would definitely apply to go on a treasure hunt, so there's some more interest.

I've sent a more detailed description to the admin so we'll have to wait and see if the plot is acceptable...

...The characters in this story would be asked to search for the gold by a merchant.  My idea is that the characters somehow know the merchant from their past.  How would be up to the players to decide.  So it's not only those with gold fever who would have motives for going along.  It might be that they feel obliged or indebted to the merchant because of something that happened in their past.  Or maybe they have a strong sense of loyalty to him.  Then again, they might just be curious!

Yes, I was quiet on the Ulvur's Cry for a while, but I did post in the absences thread that I was going to be away.  Anyway, I'm back 'home' now and checking the story much more often.

Hope that puts your mind at ease.
