Jorn Ranskjun
Jorn Ranskjun is an exceptionally wealthy, Avennorian merchant. He is short and rotund, possessing a rather large belly, which is the result of a lifetime of fine food and drink. His skin is quite pale, and his thinning hair is a very light blond. All of these features combine to show the world his privileged heritage. He comes from a prestigious family, and through a life of hard work and shrewd business dealings, he has increased its riches considerably.
His love for showing off his wealth is readily apparent in his extravagant dress and tastes. He is always clothed in exquisitely tailored garments, and his jewellery is of the highest quality. One will never hear of Jorn Ranskjun accepting anything but the best!
Fortunately for those that know or work for him, Jorn Ranskjun is a generous, kindhearted man. He is well known for the numerous parties that he hosts, and the luxurious treats that he lavishes on his guests.
His business empire covers almost every conceivable commodity that can turn a profit; he really does have his fingers in all the pies! Because of this, he is a key figure in a vast social network that spans far and wide.

Captain Fjorwek
Captain Fjorwek is a tall, Avennorian sailor of average build. He has short, curly blond hair and deep blue eyes. He is a genuinely kind man, but believes firmly that sometimes one has to be cruel to be kind. This is particularly evident in his dealings with any crew that he works with. He makes it very clear that he is the captain, and his word is to be obeyed without question. He plays several musical instruments, and finds great joy in listening to others play, or joining them in a performance.
Doctor Jorek
Doctor Jorek is short, fat, and bald. He has worked in the field of medicine his entire life, and is eminently knowledgeable. He is no doubt a highly skilled physician, but he is also a little strange. Doctor Jorek has a number of eccentricities, and many find it hard to keep a straight face when in his company. Fortunately, he is a good-natured man and sees the funny side to his own particular forms of madness. He is highly respected by both Captain Fjorwek and his crew.
Lieutenant Ustaskjan
Lieutenant Ustaskjan is tall, muscular and intimidating! She has short, straight black hair, and if it weren’t for her apparel could easily be mistaken for a man. As it is, she’s usually mistaken for a man who likes to wear leather skirts and skimpy tops! She’s ex-army, having served in the Order of Seyella, and is well experienced at naval combat. She is a formidable woman, and has the reputation of being, “the hardest bitch you’ll ever have the misfortune to serve under”, by her subordinates. She is second-in-command to Captain Fjorwek, but in reality, when an engagement takes place, it’s she who calls the shots!

Captain Vildrek Skjangarris
Captain Skjangarris is a rather unassuming man in looks, possessing an average build and height. His most remarkable feature is his hair, which, despite his relatively young age, is completely white.
His skin is dark and leathery; tanned and weathered by countless years exposed to the sun and sea.
Dark brown eyes sparkle with intelligence, set above a crooked nose and thin mouth.
The Silent Tear
The Silent Tear is Captain Skjangarris's ship. She's a much more modest vessel than The Southern Arrow, but is well-suited to navigating the sometimes shallow waters around the Scattersand Shoals. She's capable of carrying cargo, and is typical of a small-time merchant ship. The Silent Tear can accomodate a crew of up to thirty, but she is usually manned by a dozen or so experienced hands.
