In her last post, Kassandra sipped an unknown alcoholic drink out of a tankard that was placed on the bar of the Seashoal's Inn. She then flew up and, beginning to get drunk, banged into the head of the tankard's owner, before fluttering further up, making a few erratic circles, and finally landing on Damien's shoulder.

If you want, you can be the owner of that tankard, and thus join the story.

If you've got a different idea, that's fine, too! (In that case, the tankard's owner shall remain unnamed, unsung, and never have her story told!)

I agree great posts both of you. I have decided to let Garret post before I grab some annoying bird's beak and cut out it's heart! *joking* But those claws hurt!

I will however continue my distrust and disgust with Eric though as Tyrr...whose end is coming faster than he thinks...if Grallen has anything to say about it.

Thanks, and I agree: a very fine post, Lyth! I'm glad Kassandra was able to provide a way in!

One sentence in your last paragraph confused me a bit:

Does mindsmoothing really work like that, with a snap of your fingers, as it were? And can you soothe two beings at once - and even if they each feel a different emotion (as Kassandra and Damien probably do right now)?

I notice that you had a bit of a discussion about mindsmoothing during your CD creation/approval process. I guess I imagined mindsmoothing to work more in the manner that Azhira and Twen suggested there. Subtly, and maybe more slowly than magical spells. But then, what do I know. Let's see how things go! Anyway, I won't post with Kass again before Garret and Damien have reacted.

Alrighty, I think I've got that all fixed. In regards to the mindsmoothing part, I agree that it shouldn't be an instant 'poof, I'm done'. Lyth's strongest ability is affecting the emotions of others. It is easier to affect an area than specific people. So, I reasoned that affecting an area for her would only take about five blinks. A specific person would probably ten blinks to take full affect. Does this sound alright to you?

Hope you don't mind my post. I godmoded you a bit to throw your character against the wall because I wanted to keep the pace going. I figured Alt was kind of distracted and not really expecting it, so that he wouldn't have been able to evade it or anything. If that's not the case though, I can edit.


She's planning on accepting your request to not bring Garret for the meeting, though my post doesn't say it just yet. I'd like to give you a chance to respond to her yelling first.

  No prob.  I don't mind the small puppeting.  I've always prided myself on leaving Altario a very fallible character with honourable ideals.  If you needed to toss him around a bit, so be it.  Don't beat him up too badly, after all, he still is Remusuan and being beaten up by a girl would really irk him.

Oooh drama. Of all the things Alt could have said, he made the worst possible comment.

I'm not colouring the two spells I'm using, let me know if you'd like me to do that though and I can change it and do it in the future. I just don't like using colours in my writing.


I'm not necessarily planning on turning this violent, she's just trying to intimidate him. Depends on his reaction though.

No, I'm thinking there's no need to colour the spell.  You are a magic expert and we are in an experienced player story, so I'm thinking that there is no need to highlight it for scrutiny.

And I'm glad you won't get violent, seeing as you've frozen Altario's sword in its scabbard.
