Ok, I posted. I eagerly await to read what you all come up with. The rescue has started!

Dru and Alt your storyline has me rivited! Like I was reading an excelllent novel and could not put it down awaiting the next page. Your writing, descriptions, actions, feelings are exquistely written and fit like a glove to your characters and the scene.

I feel like a child writing his first paper.

I agree Damien.

Depressing, isn't it?

Damien, my friend,

Did you ask Eric whether you could puppet his sailors like that? I seem to remember that he gave permission to use the odd pirate as an NPC, but I’m not sure he wanted his whole crew taken over.

We have an incredible luxury in this story: a guest player who has come in specifically to play a “bad guy”: a powerful adversary who threatens to destroy our group’s plans. And what’s more, this adversary has a whole crew of fearsome pirates at his disposal. Yet in your post, these fearsome pirates seem a pretty pathetic bunch!

Let's give Eric a chance to play his fearsome pirates. Let him show us what they can do! Let’s not make it too easy for our characters. (And even if we others puppet the pirates occasionally ourselves, let's not make them run away from the first apple that hits them.)

Damien, you’re already manipulating twenty children. That’s a lot of NPCs. You don’t need to play the pirates also. I’m sure I’m not the only one who is grateful for your work in bringing this story forward. But please leave some work for the others, my friend.

I think in posting, sometimes less is more.

Lili  :)

Thank you for the compliments, Damien!

We were coordinating over PMs and Messengers yesterday, so we could make it flow smoother. Glad you liked it. :)

Again Lili you are correct...I should just stop writing NPC's and just concentrate on my character.

@Eric, I thought I did send you a PM but in case I did not I am sorry my friend and I will edit my post accordingly.

Lili, I edited my post and perhaps you should look over yours to make sure they jive. I am sorry if you have to edit it, but Eric and his crew, like you stated, should not have reacted the way I made them react and we should let Eric play his own character and men.

Again Eric, and everyone else... I am awfully sorry.

Thanks, Damien! And don't feel bad, my friend. I know you had the best intentions. Let's enjoy the story. heart

Your post reads really well now, I think. I made two very slight adjustments to mine, making it clear that Lili's way to the railing is, at present, barred.

More predicaments, more fun!  azn

Just so's you all know, Orly is away for a few days and, seeing as he and Tharoc are stuck dockside while you lot kick some butt onboard, he has agreed to let me puppet him. It will only be for one or two posts, and nothing drastic will happen to him, but I just wanted to get him and Thar involved in the rescue somehow.

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't been active here recently.  Seems things have kicked off!

I want to get a post up this weekend, detailing Eric's reaction to the bombardment.  I'll also get a few men to block Lili's overly optimistic escape attempt! :P

As for puppeting the pirates, I think it'd be nice if the players could post some fight scenes here, and use the pirates as they see fit.  Have some fun with them, but don't make it too easy for your own character is what I'd suggest.  The exceptions to that would be Eric and Landy.  :)

Hope that fits in with everybody elses thoughts.

Tharoc your conversation between you and Orly made me laugh out loud. Good job!

Thanks Eric for the information.

Thanks Damien. I hope I have kept Orly 'in character'.

Eric, it's very gracious of you to offer your crew for puppeting duty!

Time for the cavalry to arrive, I think!  Just make sure you don't slip on the gang-plank, Tharoc!   :P

You very much kept Orly in character, Tharoc.

Thanks for your work with that.

Sorry, I know my post stinks, but I am really not feeling well and my writing seems to have taken a vacation.
