A broad grin in a freckled face, huge green eyes and wild brown curls with a hint of red - that‘s Lori Lo, a still small child of 10 years, thin but strong, quick like only young children are able to be. Any clothes she might wear are either looking too big on her or too small, but they are most times not too dirty, there are only so many stains on them as one can acquire in one day. Feet and hands are always dirty except for a few minutes after they are washed, which happens only twice a day, if not Ana‘Mirl, who looks after Lori, gets hold of the girl and orders her to clean them „immediately“.

Mistaken as the daughter of a rich merchant, she was kidnapped by two criminals in Strata and brought to the Thirsty Herald, where the kidnappers hoped to get the ransom from the father. The deal did not work out due to Lori‘s cleverness, but this way she came to the Thirsty Herald and was „adopted“ by the staff of the inn. She helps to serve the meals and does little errands and chores for Ana‘Mirl, the innkeeper.

Now she is a happy little girl, but her past as a little beggar and then thief has left traces. So she has not only nearly no formal education and only starts to learn how to behave in society, but her perception of right and wrong is still formed by her previous life, very much to the disgust of Ana‘Mirl who tries hard to get her „on the right track“. Being a bright and intelligent young child and in an age where curiosity seems to be the most natural trait, she can be very inquisitive and wants to know everything, ask everyone everything in a very direct way, not thinking of the consequences for her or the questioned person.

She can be a very loving and caring person, but mischief is what governs her day. That does not always help her to gain the affection of the people, for which she craves, despite her attitude to be an annoying little brat. So she is often torn between being - or acting - a nice girl to get the desired attention and tries sometimes very hard to be „respectable“ and her desire to run free. But when her waggishness gets the upper hand, she forgets all her resolutions. Lori is in some respect tough, for otherwise she would not have survived her time in Strata, but this has made her vulnerable as well. Now, that she has begun to trust people, it is very easy to hurt her and if tis happens her distress is great.
