Story proposal in progress: Raspotin's (<== Purposefully Misspelled) Adventure

Raspotin's Adventure.

# of PCs:

Eight to fifteen people. Later, after the diverging of the branches, more characters may join.

Type of Player Characters:

Anyone who would have connections to the baron, or connections to Raspotin. Mercenaries can also join.

Plot Outline:

Alchemist Grogory Raspotin is an alchemist at Baron Nicholas the Third's Court. However, he is secretly in love with Baroness Alexandra. Raspotin wants to kill the Baron and then marry Alexandra, therefore being with the woman he loves and inheriting power from the dead Baron. He goes to a party (First entrance of pcs) and he secretly sneaks into the room of the baroness. However, the Baron suspects that his wife is in love with someone else, so he sends a guard to eavesdrop on the two lovers. Unfortunately for the Baron, the guard is drunk, and he forgets much of what he heard. When he realizes that he has forgotten much of the information, he drowns his sorrows in drink, therefore forgetting almost all of what he learned. The baron is left with only the fact that there was someone in Baroness Alexandra's room.
The Baron flees to his summer palace. By then, Raspotin knows of his lover's fate. Raspotin and his friend Nikolas Flammol hire anyone to help him chase down his beloved Alexandra. They travel to the Summer Palace, but they miss the Baron and his wife by one day. They find out that he has fled to his last palace: The stronghold. The characters begin their long trek there.
Finally, the characters and Raspotin reach the last palace owned by Baron Nicholas. He devises a plan to sneak in, and it works or doesn't depending on what the players

There are three branches from now on:
The Characters fail at infiltrating the Palace.
The Characters succeed at killing Nicholas.
The Characters infiltrate the palace, but fail to kill Nicholas.

The first and the third branches end similarly, while the second one has a unique ending.
The events after the branches are for the Administrators' eyes only.

Additional Information:

All people in this story are used fictionally, with misspelled names. The people used are Nicholas Flammel, Grigori Rasputin, Czar Nicholas II, and Czarina Alexandra. I need a co-mod, and a place for this to take place. If there are no ideas, I will adapt the story to an appropriate setting.

Note that this is only a story proposal, and a work in progress. It has been on my mind for months, and it just needed a medium to pop out on.

I don't know a great deal about this website or how to get RP stories approved, but I actually do like this story so you should ask about who to contact to get it up and running!

Hey Mallorix, this looks like a very interesting idea to me. I'm certainly interested, but you need to work out some of the details. You should probably find a tribe that would work for you story, and fit your story into the framework of Caelereth. Right now, it still has too many element's of Earth's Russia still in it. I think you need to find a tribe in this world that will work, and once you have a Caelerethian setting, more people will become interested as well.

For now, I'm not sure what tribe you could go for, but this is where good research on your part will pay off. You wanted something North were they wear furs, but we already have a Remusian story, and I don't think the Ice Tribes would work either. The Kanapan men are highly religious, maybe you could play that up to work with this. They don't live in tundra regions, but they are still in Northern Sarvonia. Plus they have a caste system, which could be played to mirror the aristocracy of Russia in a way.

Farther south, the Erpheronians are a proud people with an aristocracy, so they could be an option. They are part of the Santharian kingdom, which is a peaceful realm, so you might have to alter your story a bit to make it fit here. Still, they are another option.

As far as using other races, which make this even more interesting, I don't think any dwarves would work, but perhaps you could ask someone if there are any elf tribes that would fit. My knowledge of elves is shaky, so I don't really know what could be done. One that might work would be the Cyhallrhim elves, who have royalty, and internal struggles, both of which bode well for this story. They live *way* up north, so that would fit too.

EDIT: The Cyhallrhim seem like a good choice, but why would characters be helping them? They are retracted from most of the world, and they are not communicative. It won't work with them.
