Who done it?

I recently watched the old movie Clue and thought it might be something fun we could play with. For those of you you who have seen it it might guess where I am going with this. For those of you who haven't a quick synopsis.

A group of people are invited to a mansion for a dinner party, they seem not to know each other or their host. The power goes out, and when the lights turn back on the host is dead. As the gathering tries to figure out who killed him more people die and it becomes apparent that everyone has some sort of nefarious connection with him or another guest, blackmail, bad business deal, ex-lover, ect. The host role is taken by the butler who we find out at the end isn't really the butler but the host and vise versa. I don't really remember the end 'cause I was falling asleep but I think it ran along the lines of caught the killer lived ever after.

Any way my idea was for something along these lines. We have a dinner party, each player comes up with some reason they could be the killer/ how they know the desceased. This could be told to the mods off thread to be revealed as the story progresses. The killer could either be a NPC or if the players want they could volunteer, it could be figured out off thread to keep the mystery for those playing. There could even be multiple killers, crimes of.., er whats the word I'm looking for, unplanned killings. Throw in a few expendable NPCs and we have a murder mystery.

I don't know if this has been tried before but I think that it would be fun. Let me know what you think.

I think this sounds really good, (I think a similar idea has been put forward recently) and I would definitely be interested in it.

If you were to submit a proposal, use the Format presented here.  Just like a CD, you must submit it, then await approval from the Admins.  Feel free to submit the idea via PM to protect the integrity of your secrets.

Off the hop, you have to wonder at the issue of death.  If a character is killed off in a story, then that character is dead for all stories.  So, keep this in mind if you have plans on killing Player Characters.

Other than that, submit a proposal.  We rarely say "no" out of hand, though we may say "wait" until certain changes can be dealt with, or certain requirements have been met.  In your case, we may look at the experience level of you.  Worst thing a story can do is start and then fade away because the mod is in over his head, or does not stick around enough.
