Below is a summary on the posticons used for the character description approval process. The posticon of the first post should always be edited according to the current state of completion of the character description (either by the player, a Moderator or an Administrator).
1) PLAYER - CD is incomplete. Use this posticon if you have not finished your CD.  4) MODERATOR - CD has been approved by one moderator. A second mod's approval is needed.
 2) PLAYER - CD is completed. Use this if you have finished working on your CD.  5) MODERATOR - CD has been approved by two moderators. An Administrator should soon take care of the titling.
 3) MODERATOR - An expert's opinion is needed. The specific field in which the expert's help is needed should be added to the title.  6) ADMINISTRATOR - An administrator has titled the character, and the thread will soon be moved to the CD Archives.

Welcome to the world of Caelereth!
If you were wanting to create a character, you found the proper place! This forum is where you can post your Character Descriptions for approval from those who know the world at its best. Yes, it can be a time consuming task, and often discouraging, but those of us who have been around the system a few times have a few bits of advice for those just getting started!

(I) - The title of the thread in which you post your Character Description (or CD for short) should be         Name/Tribe/Occupation. Nothing more and nothing less please! Doing this will make sure the people who know about your particular race, tribe, or occupation, will find your thread as quickly and easily as possible. (I.E. Rookie Brownbark is widely known to enthusiastically pounce on any Brownie character, although only if you make it easy for her to spot.) The quicker and easier the experts find your thread, faster and simpler the approval.

(II) - There are a few icons which can be used for players to tell the moderators where they’re at with their description. On the screen where you write your CD, you will see a drop down list with the heading Message Icon. There are two specific selections for any player to make from this list:

Char Status 1: Work in progress (Commonly referred to as: the pencil icon.) This should be used if you’re still in the process of writing your CD, or if you’re making changes which have been suggested to you. It basically says “I’m changing stuff, please keep this in consideration while providing comments”.

Secondly is Char Status 2: Comments Welcome (Commonly referred to as: the exclamation mark.) Once you’ve finished writing or integrating comments, change your icon from the pencil to this one. This basically says “I’ve finished making changes, please come and have a look”.

Please do not use the other icons (the question mark, plus sign, blue arrow or green tick) as these are designed to allow the moderators to mark the next stages of your approval. Using them yourself will only cause confusion and lengthen the process, as well as irritating the very people who are trying to help you! When in doubt, refer to the top of the forum page, as they listed with simple explanations for your aid.

(III) - When you create your account, there is an easy way to make your Displayed Name (the name shown at the top of each of your posts) the same as your characters. Doing this helps avoid confusion and generally just makes things run smoother. This will be suggested if your account name is not the same as your character name.

~ First go to your "Profile", the link is at the top of the board along with “Home”, “Forums”, “Help” etc.
~ There is a list of links to the left.  Find "Account Related Settings" and click on it.
~ The second field down (labelled “Name”) is where you need to enter your character name.  Please use the appropriate capital letters too!
~ Make sure to click the "Change Profile" option at the bottom of the profile screen to save the changes.

The helpful hints listed above were created to assist new players with approvals and questions, and also to allow the process to run as easily as possible for everyone involved. Not following them can lead to your character description being overlooked or lengthening the process needlessly. So, you have been warned! ;)

The Ten Commandments of The CD Forum
(I) Thou shalt not use rude, crude, or insulting remarks. This is a cooperative endeavor so be polite.
(II) Thou shalt not post in a CD without including helpful comments.
(III) Thou shalt not post in a CD if you do not have the knowledge to address necessary issues.
(IV) Thou shalt not post in a CD (including the writer) with the use of all CAPS, even in headings for various sections.
(V) Thou shalt not use bad grammar in the CD or within any sections of worthwhile comments.
(VI) Thou shalt research any aspects of a CD you wish to comment on if unsure of the answer.
(VII) Thou shalt use proper capitalization and punctuation. This stands for commentors as well! You cannot request someone to modify their CD when you cannot provide a proper example.
(VIII) Thou shalt color any changes you make to a CD, in regards to a commentor's suggestions. This does not include minor grammatical errors.
(IX) Thou shalt be sure to have your display name and your character's name the same.
(X) Thou shalt place Name/Tribe/Occupation as the heading for your CD or languish in the consequences.

Thank you all, for your cooperation!

Insanity is only a perception made by those who have yet to attain its greatness. While those of us who have already stepped inside its bounds find bliss in our utter madness.
