You know, when I started this thread, I thought that it would be a place for people to discuss the World Cup, not resort to childish arguments.  But I think Alt has already picked up on it, so no need to say anymore.

Back on topic, I was happy with the victory for Ghana, and hope that they go on to win their group.  As for Germany vs Australia, I predicted 5 - 0 to Germany, and when I just had a look, it was 4 - 0.  No great surprise, really.

JUst be thankfull this isn't about American football (which is alot more complicated than it should be for the coach, its easier for a player because he only has one job). If it was about Americ. Football, people would be dropping f-bombs and insults left and right.

I agree with Ismar, my definition of a redneck would not be someone who visits fantasy websites... it would be someone who doesn't know what a computer is and lives in the Bible Belt bashing gays, Muslims, Hindus, Jews and women with the Old Testament.

I don't even like football (aka soccer). WHAT AM I DOING HERE!?!?!?! I'm just far too patriotic for my own good.

Well, yesterday was Holland vs Denmark. I happened to be in Holland. I know the exact moment that both of Holland's goals were scored (one that Denmark kicked the ball into their own goal  ) because there was LOTS of cheering, loud enough that we could hear it inside the castle where we were. Might have something to do with the fact that the cafe where the supporters were watching was located right next to the castle. About a half million people in Holland took the day off to watch this game. There was 100 km less traffic jam than normally on a monday.

Yes I was surprised Dek...but then again Uruguay's main sport is football unlike America. I think I would say Italy is allowed to draw against Uruguay, personally I still think England should have beaten America...but I suppose this makes things more interesting.
