Thanks. I don't like using names if my character doesn't know it yet, so I can see how it can get confusing. I'll try to be more clear in the future.

All right in this case, Seh! Thanks for asking. Nice post! 

I will say one thing. I've had a previous unpleasant experience with puppeting. That was long ago, in a different story, involving different players, none of whom are currently active. At the time, I was playing an ostensibly 'helpless' character, as I am now. And somehow this helplessness (and possibly other things) led some players to forget the anti-puppeting rule and assume that they knew what my character could and would do. I would ask players not to make such an assumption. Surprise is the salt of roleplaying.

Maybe it wasn't necessary to say this. But I thought I'd rather waste a paragraph on preaching to the converted than later regret not having mentioned my concern.

Great story, so far, by the way - thanks both to the moderators and the players, I think!

The easiest thing ever at this point would be to write Kaelan out of the story. In fact, I frankly can't think of anything that keeps him in. I guess it was nice playing...

  I hope you change your mind, Kaelan.  I hope that you don't take the fact that I'm prefering to let everyone kind of just find their level at the moment disuade you.  I am leaving everyone kind of feel out their characters and create their own friendships and alliances before we start hard into the story, rather than heavy handedly rounding you all up.

I promise that once we get moved out of the tavern and actually become a group, that things will tighten up.

Right now, just a bunch of strangers inhabiting the same tavern.  Everyone has their own focus.  Soon, the focus will shift to a common one and the interaction between us will be more substantial.

Though, if you decide the story is not for you, no hard feelings.

It's not a problem with the moderation, or any of the other players. It's a blast reading. I just don't see Kaelan moving out to join the party at this point.

Don't worry, Seh. I really loved your post.    It's just that I saw a slippery slope lurking in the distance, and wanted to steer clear of it in good time. That said, in case of doubt, a PM is a good idea, of course.
