Poking my head in... Elven Aging Calculator and Measures Converter

Hello to all those that remember me, and to those that don't know me, I am the maintainer for the Elven Aging Calculator and Measures Converter. As I have been away for some time I wanted to poke my head in and get a feel for the state of these in Santharia, and to find out from the users if these tools are still accurate, or if they need updating.

Please let me know if you have any issue, questions or comments on these.

Hi Terra! I don't think we've ever RPed together or anything, but I definitely remember you.

I was wondering if you could add some sort of backwards calculation feature? Some players tend to put the elf ages on their CD direct, and it takes a bit of trial and error to find out exactly how old they are in human years.

Hmmmm... Not sure. Honestly I wrote the code a long time ago and it's been a while since I have even poked my head into it. Definitely something I would consider more strongly if there is a great demand. I do remember that JavaScript, as that is the language it was written in was not the best solution in terms of functionality, however when I originally wrote it I planned for it to be integrated with the Santharia website it's self and Java Script seemed the most universal way. I can't promise backward calculation, but I can poke my head in and see if that is even possible.

I guess I can assume that no changes have been made to elves lifespans, or any tribes have been added.

Addendum on the reverse aging calculation. At this time it does not seem possible to set up the age calculator to do reverse calculations due to the way aging calculations are currently handled. The following 3 equations would need to be merged into a single equation to allow for it to be done in reverse.

Just a note. Since I brought up the topic I found a typo, and a fairly major bug, namely that I had the wrong adult elf age formula implemented and it was not working correctly. A newer version will be uploaded shortly. I would advise CD Mods to let any ages generated with the old version.

So, the EAC is updated and seems to be working correctly. Please note that with this update adult ages will not match those generated previously. I have also played with the idea of the previously suggested reverse EAC, however I am deadlocked at reversing formula for adult ageing, as it is very complex. It's not an impossibility, but an improbability.

   How big of a difference are we talking about between old ages and the new ages.

That will vary depending on the elves age and tribe, however it should only effect elves ages by up to 15 years lived at the most. Also elves on the cusp of adulthood will no longer be their lifespan - 5 years, then their lifespan - 9 at the beginning of elderhood, this obviously did not work. I would like to point out that the EAC uses linear formulas, not a more natural curve, so the EAC was only ever meant as a guide, not gospel. If that is kept in mind I don't think the variance should cause anyone to panic.

Ok, well that's something to keep in mind.  Obviously, any CD created before now will be grandfathered in.
