Have you read the related entries? The Venlaken are, as far as i can discern, quite peacefull provided you don't venture into the Enclave.. and how does a mere sheet of polisched metal reflect magic by the way?

And also...I think you should note the only knowledgable source of information on the Anapagan/east side of Nybelmar is Smith in Exile...whom I haven't seen recently. Maybe you should choose the Zhunite men?

Vardin, I like the idea of a magic reflecting shield...but perhaps make this an artefact...a fabled one...that would open up your possibilities a little more...

Reading up on magic would be helpful too.  This doesn't fit into the current magic system very well.

Well, I don't see a mere mirror being able to reflect magic in any magic system.  That's just silly.  Besides, even if it did, it'd only work if spells were projectiles, and depending on your definition, that's either pretty rare or non-existent. 

I'm sure you could repel physical spells, such as fireballs and gusts of wind.. but that's just because there you deal with the effect of the spell, instead of the actual magic.
