Title: Tribes briefly mentioned on site, but no entry yet?
Post by: Garret Arroway on 08 September 2013, 21:30:36
What can I say, I was bored at work and writing doesn't come that easy to me these days, so I thought I might look into the various tribes in the Sarvonia region that do not have entries so that they can be a reference point for people developing in the area or for people to work on with approval.

Since Sarvonia is the main area of focus, I figured I would start there (plus head hurts too much to move onto other areas tonight :P ...).

Any thoughts and input appreciated.

The Carmarhim Elves - Island of Denilou?
     - Mentioned in the entry Carmarhim Rónn Pherán'Ephtaerín (http://www.santharia.com/people/pheran_ephtaerin.htm) called 'the tribe from Carmalad'.
     - Briefly mentioned in the people section of the the Ciosa (http://www.santharia.com/places/ciosa.htm) entry.
     - Not mentioned in the Carmalad (http://www.santharia.com/places/carmalad.htm) entry.

The Glandorian Men - ? - Athviaro working on it
     - No longer exsists.
     - Avennorian Men entry states that they are from the Kanapan Peninsula.
     - Glandorian history says "ca. 11340 b.S. - Founded Ciosa".
     - Kanapan Men history says "11.900 b.S. - Glandorian's land on Peninsula of Glandor".
     - Found masterwork proposal (http://www.santharia.com/dev/index.php/topic,15026.0.html), but where do they 'originate from'?

The Darian Men - Southern Sarvonia - Talia working on it
     - No longer exist.
     - Ancestors of the Shendar?
     - Found Talia's draft (http://www.santharia.com/dev/index.php/topic,6820.0.html) for their entry (forgive me for digging it up ;) ...).

The Shire of Elenveran (Hobbits) - Elverground?
     - Seems like lots of connections to hobbit community already made.

The Kaizranian Men - Thalambathians?
     - Draft (http://www.santharia.com/dev/index.php/topic,13920.0.html) for this tribe.

The Churican Hobbits - Isle of Churican?
     - Mentioned in the Isle of Churican (http://www.santharia.com/places/churican_isle.htm) entry.
     - Crossbreeding with humans?

The Tsváen’mol’khár Elves (Dark Elves) - Shivering Woods?
     - No longer exist?
     - Mentioned in Shivering Woods (http://www.santharia.com/places/shivering_woods.htm) entry, but don't even show up in a site search.

The Evathonrhim Elves (Ice Elves) - Forest of Contamar
     - Only live in the forest or other surrounding areas?
     - Mentioned in the Forest of Contamar (http://www.santharia.com/places/contamar_forest.htm) entry and some flora/fauna entries.
     - Rough religious views (http://www.santharia.com/dev/index.php/topic,13091.0.html) on dev site - unfinished.

The Dinali Men - Northern Sarvonia
     - No longer exist.
     - Northern Sarvonia (http://www.santharia.com/places/northern_sarvonia.htm) entry states "aggressive barbarians from peninsula of Kr'uul".
     - The Peninsula of Kr'uul (http://www.santharia.com/places/kruul_peninsula.htm) entry says they were twisted by magic of Eckra the Cruel.

The Mynian Men - Northern Sarvonia
     - Kingdom (http://www.santharia.com/places/mynian_kingdom.htm) entry written.
     - No longer exist.
     - Should there be a tribe entry?

The Doranian Men - Island Kingdom of Doranian
     - New name? Mentioned twice on site.
     - The Kingdom (http://www.santharia.com/places/dorania.htm) entry mentions two tribes or groups.

Human, Orc, & Elf Tribe - Isle of Quios - Garret working on it
    - Entry (http://www.santharia.com/places/isles_of_quios.htm) mentions at least some humans and some orcs, but nothing further.

The Gremm Gnomes
    - A tribe of gnomes who linger in the forest.
    - As a tribe they are inordinately shy and tightlipped, distrusting anyone outside their own kind.
    - Quite how and why they tolerated the Cyrathrhim presence in their forest will remain a mystery.

This is great, Garret. Now all you need to do is pick up a quill and write the entries. One word at a time, buddy!

Looked just today at the Darian, Garret, and realised, that I had saved them still in .cwk, that's an old format ;) Was mainly reading through what I have and removed some commas ;)

I would like to see more done with the Isles of Quios and those potential tribes and play around with it myself. Hopefully I can find a way to get back into writing. I miss it, but it is so difficult for me these days.

Well, the "Enthronians" aren't really a tribe, this is really just a province name, nothing more. So no entry needed for those guys.

The rest still needs entries, yup, so if any member with some Santharian experience feels inspired, be my guest :)

The Glandorians are coming (2,750 words and counting).

They migrated north, or their ancestors did, prior to the Fall of Fá’áv’calâr, and then were driven onto the Glandorian peninsula by the Kanapans who fled the Fall.

I thought the Enthroians weren't a tribe, but a couple references made it sound like they were.

I am working through some ideas for Quios and was going to post for offical permission to work on that area, but I guess I will ask here. I'd like to work on the tribe entries for the area as well as other aspects of the Isles.

@Ath: You still working on the Glandorians? Haven't heard from you for quite a while, so I have no idea where you left off... Anyway, hope we'll hear more from you and the Glandorians in the future...

@Garret: What exactly do you have in mind for Quios as you say humans and orcs? Any rough outline in which direction you want to head?

Actually, reading deeper, it does say human, elf, dwarf, and orc. That seems like a lot of diversity so I haven't even gotten that far. I have been reading up on anything that mentions Quios at all at the moment.

Hi Garret! Please add the Gremm to your list. They are mentioned in the Cyrathrhim entry: "The Gremm, a tribe of gnomes who linger in the forest still, would probably be the best source of information, but as a tribe they are inordinately shy and tightlipped, distrusting anyone outside their own kind. Quite how and why they tolerated the Cyrathrhim presence in their forest will remain a mystery."

Eventually, I would like to take up the quill with regards to the Gremm. They seem wonderfully mysterious and dark. :)
